Visited on a July Sunday this year to find a bit of a beer festival taking place here Variety of Ales, stout,porters and ciders on offer. Didn't eat on this occasion but the Sunday roasts did seem scrumptious and many of the patrons were tucking in.

A cool pub with a good atmosphere

Good selection of hand-pulled beers. Personally would like another craft beer than the ubiquitous Neckoil.

This was a chance stop for lunch on a drive home but well worth it. The Sunday roast was excellent. The small portion was the perfect size for us and the food was warm, fresh and delicious.

A lovely family Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all. A large Sunday roast beef for me with Yorkshire Pudding, roast potatoes, kale, parsnip, carrot & stuffing. Friendly, quick & efficient service. We'll be back!

Stopped here on our way through for a very late Sunday lunch. Absolutely gorgeous inside, clean facilities, and a very tidy beer garden with smoking and non smoking sections. Food was delicious, we all had the roast, meat was perfectly cooked and had a good selection of veggies with a big Yorkie on top. Service was quick and friendly.

Family friendly pub , with reasonable menu and good service. OK if you don't mind kids running around shouting at each other while you're eating.

Excellent range of seven, local and national cask ales served in tiptop condition. A great place to visit if your in the area.

Very nice pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere. Dog friendly which is always a big positive. Also has an outdoor sheltered area to enjoy your food, which is very nice but a bit pricey. All in all well worth a visit

Went today for Sunday dinner with two self-proclaimed Sunday roast experts 😝 was just lovely with the best desserts, can’t wait to come back soon. Excellent prices and the nicest friendliest staff, a really nice quite pub with the best food and beer selection. Can’t wait for the new menu/kitchen etc this week!

Excellent Sunday roast. Friendly helpful staff, that helped to find something out fussy children would eat. Definitely would go back. Great that they let dogs in too.

Nicely modernised pub with a beer terrace out the back and four decent guest cask ales on draught. Menu looked reasonably for a casual bite to eat. We will return.

Food I had was good and the staff were really nice. They allow dogs and have drinking bowls for them and some free dog biscuits 😊

Very pleasant and friendly staff. Nicely set out and clean. Good menu for Mother's Day though the Sunday roast would have been better had the meat been cut fresh from a joint rather than being pre-cut and reheated. Would try again.

We went here for Sunday lunch last week. Some family members were nervous about getting covid. We didn't want to cancel so asked if we could be served in the shelter outside. The heaters kept us warm, the service was friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble! Food delicious. A lovely experience. I would definitely recommend this place. Great value too.

Fabulous Sunday dinner here. Perfectly cooked. 2 roast potatoes not quite enough for me, at least one more but only a small gripe. Staff friendly and helpful and all very clean.

Gorgeous pub inside and out. New back seating area with heating is divine. Dedicated smoking area (if you’re into that). Clean and pleasant toilets. Delicious proper pub food. Ample parking and next to the mainline bus stop whilst also being 5 mins walking distance to the village centre.

I don't leave many reviews however having visited the Chestnut today I've decided I must,firstly were not locals and didn't have a clue where to eat having visited Nottingham on a shopping trip,so having looked online we found the Chestnut and gave them a call,the person on the phone was very plesent and took our details and we were booked in.On arrival tbh it looked a little empty (but it was 3.30) and dark inside and the bins in the car park looked a tad untidy however never judge a book by its cover or a Pub by its carpark...On entry we were greeted by a member of staff who was polite and friendly and took us through the covid rules for this establishment (basically a one way system) took our contact details and escorted us to our table in the restaurant.The decor and furniture are very smart and the building has loads of character and is very clean.Great selection of beers and N.Z Sav blanc by the glass,perfect.Two roast dinners were ordered and we couldn't fault the quality and presentation of our meals ( we don't visit your usual carvery establishments) .... very impressed all round,would definitely return.

I have been working in the area for the last 5 weeks and needed somewhere for an evening meal. I cannot praise The Chestnuts enough. All the staff are very friendly and the meals are the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Would thoroughly recommend you check it out.

Found this lovely friendly pub on our walk from Thornton's Holt campsite 👍the staff were lovely and friendly 😀 we all enjoyed a few cold scoops 🥂🍺👍and had too stop for a few more due to the heavy down pour of 🌧 🤪😀👍,it is a lovely pub 10/10 we will definitely be going back 😊

Went to the chestnut sunday 20th September for lunch with my daughter son in law and grand daughter with me on crutches and a pushchair we were made to feel very welcome and signalled to go into the garden area for drinks as we were early the staff were very courteous and helpful the adults had the 3 course lunch and the little one the smaller 2 course I asked them to bring the childs main meal the same time as our starters as she takes longer to eat and this was no problem for them we all had different starters which were delicious well presented and quickly devoured our mains arrived and again well presented a good portion and delicious again polished off the icing on the cake were the desserts they were stunningly presented and delicious never eaten anything so good I would recommend the establishment to anyone as the menu is a variety of mouth watering delights and decently priced I am definitely going back to try something different very soon. Well done The Chestnut you all deserve it
