Driving through Kingussie and stopped for coffee. Found this cheese shop by chance. Asked the lady if she could do a take away platter for a picnic. She prepared a mixture of Scottish and French cheeses, olives, relish and crackers. Simply the most beautiful cheese flavours I have ever enjoyed. If you find yourself in this area this is a must do experience.

I visited The Cheese Neuk for lunch over the Easter break when I was touring the Cairngorms with friends . It was a real find! They have four tables at the back of a lovely cheese shop where we enjoyed cheese and salami platters with fresh bread, home made pickles and chutney all accompanied by a glass of wine - delicious. We were served by the owner Lydie who knows so much about cheese and makes all her own produce to go with it. The Dalwhinnie and balsamic vinegar is to die for. And we were able to buy a selection take back to our self-catering apartment! We will be back!

Good food at a good price. Order online ahead of time (earlier in the day) and drop by to pick up. Or drop by and order and pick up. It was a pleasant surprise while in town. Places to park by pier, just pull up or walk up and order. Picture shows room to park if needed. Old cafe next door with outside sitting, didn’t look open, so could sit at tables possibly.

On our holiday in Glenelg we popped into this cafe, which is popular with both locals and visitors. We only had coffee, but the food on offer looked very tasty. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There is ample parking nearby. Overall a nice place for a snack. Highly recommend.

This Subway has always been great; extremely friendly customer service, great food (sandwiches at other Subway’s are usually a bit burnt) and just an overall friendly Subway. However, since last year, this Subway has been closed; every time we walk by it is always empty, as in lights never on, same drinks left in fridge ect. You know it’s been closed a while when you see COVID guidelines telling you to wear a mask and that it’s mandatory; as well as other posters and such laying all over the floor. When searched on Google, it says “Temporarily closed”, however, it’s been well over a year at this point and it shows no signs of re-opening. We know some of the people who uses to work there and they just said that it’s “closed”. It’s a shame; the Subway should be sold if they don’t want to maintain or open it. Here’s to hoping that we ever see Subway Aviemore open again — I’m hoping 🤞

Mark and Lucy run a great restaurant AND hotel. Very gracious and great food. Breakfasts with the room and yummy. We also enjoyed meeting their two yellow labs.
