The Causerie in Belfast

Myself and husband had a wonderful two course meal, the food was first class and the staff exemplary, they made us feel special and we look forward to returning.

Had dinner here last night in a group and we felt really uncomfortable, and were tempted to just leave. The two older female hostess (white/blonde hair and dark hair with glasses) were in really foul mood and made some awkward remarks. The only people who cracked a smile was a bearded man who brought out something the servers forgot and a very young girl who took our order. Definitely won’t be back.

Great food, service, and atmosphere. Well priced for the quality of the food and the service. Well worth trying. Need to modernise the background music , hough, but let that put you off.

Great food - staff great craic and atmosphere really good

Pre theatre dinner. Staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful. We had two courses with glass of wine. Chicken wings for starters were delicious. My daughter's fish for mains looked and tasted delicious. I got the Katsui curry which was nice but only thing that I found a bit disappointing was the pickled slaw it came with, the smell of the pickle was stronger than the curry and I found that a bit off putting but otherwise the meal, as always, was lovely.

I was walking by and was attracted by the photo of seafood dishes on the wall. I went into the restaurant and ordered salad 🥗 + cod. The presentation was beautiful, the food was delicious, the service was friendly and the restaurant was full of laughter 💕 Although I could only listen to music quietly and eat my meal alone, the laughter around the restaurant also infected me with a little joy!

Had pre theatre menu found to be great value for the price

Excellent service and lovely food. We ate here before seeing a show. We had the theatre menu which sadly only had one vegetarian option for the main. The food was nice and service good.

The food was tolerable but the servive was really bad. The lady seemed in a hurry to get us out, her whole demeanour was just rude. Won't go back there in a hurry.

Set menu for valentine's, table booked for 9.30, arrived 9.15 and got to table OK, were told kitchen would close at 9.30 which seemed odd considering the booked reservation time. main course had 5 choices, the chicken was unavailable and the fish was not as printed. I opted for the pasta dish, a wild mushroom rigatoni , don't worry, very few wild mushrooms were harmed in the making of it, but it was tasty enough. Starter was OK, and desert nice. Don't think I'll be in a hurry to go back

Very average food considering the price. Alot of what was on the plates must have been pre-prepared. Chips dry/hard definitely not fresh. Burger meat could be much better. Portions small, which is only ever ok if the food is fabulous. Disappointing. Pity as location, setting and staff were all perfectly lovely.

Stayed overnight in Europa with breakfast included. Breakfast was amazing with great choices. Greeted by a very welcoming gentleman who made sure we were topped up with coffee. Cant wait for our next visit soon.

Over priced average food. The food looked good and the waiter was great., but the food lacked taste! It wasn't unpleasant enough to complain, but it was bland. The portions of veg were a bit mean too, it definitely wasn't worth the money they were charging.

Went for my daughters birthday and the staff went above and beyond! Extra sides sent out, a wee birthday slate too! Food was gorgeous, chips were crunchy and the garlic bread was divine! Can't fault staff either.

Absolutely awful. To start with...no atmosphere...was like sitting in a funeral parlour. The music depressing...the staff were like robots. The lady in charge had her head in her hands heaving and sighing as if she was totally fed up. Food was slow to come out and frankly not worth the wait. Burger..dry and tasteless...chips hard. Fish and chips...like a child's portion. The causerie was like being in a school canteen. Overall ...a less than average dining experience in what's meant to be top hotel.

Decidedly average. Portion size small, and presentation really poor. The cut of meat used in steak sandwiches clearly of minimum standard. However, prices not so!!! Staff friendly, but very poor value for money. Don’t go.

Not only the chips weren't cooked properly but I found a hair in it.. horrible...the waitress was nice about it though...oh and the toilets are dirty...

Food was nice enough although the Tikka Masala was bland. Service was decent if a little slow. Be prepared for a shock if you go for a glass of wine in the Piano Bar.... £11.90. The same glass costs £7.20 in the bar downstairs! Unbelievable rip off. I guess that they get enough American tourists willing to pay that sort of money. A pity as it's a nice bar but we won't be back with those prices.

The food was above average in terms of taste however, the portion sizes were nothing less than a disgrace. I would happily pay £15-£20 per meal if the portion size(s) were fine. Both the gluten free and vegan options are limited. Possibly the richest Hotel in Ireland, I would expect A LOT better. One choice of cider which is ridiculous to put it nicely. £10 for a vodka and mixer is simply extortion.

Beautiful food yesterday to celebrate late graduation due to covid, was lovely to see all the 2020 graduates all with fabulous jobs 😊

Best breakfast for a long time.

No problem getting and table. Great service and food was excellent. £25 for an excellent 2 course Christmas dinner.
