Lovely fish and chips! I almost didn’t come here because of the reviews but I loved it. Very friendly and warm staff; fish chips and mushy peas were fresh and tasted delicious. The chips were a tiny bit less crispy than I’m used to, that may be why some people have complained when ordering on deliveroo.

What a horrible experience. Hard to find and the food was overcooked. I gave most of it to the dog. Grilled fish had batter on it. Calamari tasted awful. Avocado salad was heavily bruised. It took them an hour to have this horrible meal ready for collection.

Awful...I ordered from here instead of my usual place by mistake. Next time will look at the address. This place has added chiswick to their name and that's what led to the confusion.

Been going there for so many years. I have never been disappointed. The oil for frying is always fresh, super crispy chips….super pleasant service.

The service is great and owner is very nice and friendly unfortunately the fish a chips is not so nice the occasion I went the oil seemed to be really old and I could not finish the food

Vegetarians and vegans aviod this place! They can't tell the difference between a cornish pastie and cheese and leek pie! Dissatisfied and disappointed to receive a meat pastie instead of my original order. Awful! 😠

Sad to write this as this is my local chippy it used to be excellent but it has really gone downhill brought some fishnchips a Couple of weeks ago was soggy and greasy not nice at all thought it was a one off but exactly the same yesterday, such a shame after years of using this place unlikely I will anymore

Just collected some cod and chips. Batter was awful, chips were soggy, greasy and tasteless. Will not be visiting again. DISGRACE!!

I have been to rice/catch a number of times. The food is incredible and the staff are very friendly. 5*

Food is pretty nice, but the prices are more expensive than most chip shops and the portions are tiny! I paid either £3 or £3.50 for a portion of chips and got about half of what you'd get at most chip shops.

I eat from here more times per week than j should. Other local chippy places don't compare. Love the grilled fish if you want a healthy option. Always consistent.

Beware of the bottled supposedly fresh juice.

Been looking for this place for the some time twice as I drove by the signs confused me. It says Persian and rice and Catch.last week me and friend were walking by it and he says this is a fish and chips joint. We had already eaten lunch at that time. I went next day solo and ordered the Lamb shank with rice. Persian dish the shank came without the bone and over cooked. The rice was nice and came with a sauce which was good. 2 days later I went with a friend to try the fish and chips I ordered cod and chips and my friend ordered haddock grilled. Both the dishes looked great and fresh and tasted very fresh. I thought the chips were less than what you normally get a chippy. My friend thought they were too many. We had 2 Ciders with the meal enjoyed the meal and atmosphere the owner she was a good sales person and a good personality will go again soon.

Please don't waste your time or money. The food was terrible we ordered Haddock and chips. They were tasteless, oily soggy! If you want good fish and chips Nimm's in Isleworth and they are just the best!

The chips were very oily but that may be due to it not being a busy time. Will try both fish and chips next time to see if it is worth the hype.

Chips weren’t cooked. Literally still raw. Sat and waited for them to be cooked only to get home and throw them all away. Second bad experience in this place, won’t be a third. Much better fish & chips in Turnham Green or Edison Road. They actually cook the chips.

We regularly come to The Catch for takeaway fish and chips and it’s always fantastic. The fish is so fresh and tasty and the team are friendly and welcoming. On Friday they recommended the haddock and I was so glad we went with their recommendation - lovely texture and juicy and tasty. A must visit for fish and chips!

Total chaos if you order online. Incredibly they have a menu on Deliveroo which they cant deliver and does not match what they can actually make or order. They have online 5 different types of fishcake but in fact only make it in one way. So if you order two different fishcakes they call deliveroo to get a message across to you that they only make it one way. Unnecessary fuss. But worse, they have a list of fish on Deliveroo under the "grilled fish" section but they dont grill most of them. Second attempt to order 2 grilled fish resulted in more phone calls via a call centre in Manila telling me they couldnt make the order as they dont grill goujons ... which are on the online menu. Phoning them is chaotic and the online menu equally chaotic.

Used to be a great place for fish and chips and service but since it changed and moved the tables from the back to the front, food no longer that good, too many tables not enough room to swing a cat

One of the best fish and chip places I’ve been to. I see some people say ‘soggy batter’ after delivery from deliveroo. Of course it will be after being wrapped up for so long!! Awesome fish n chips.

They have amazing food. I order from here atleast once or twice a week on Deliveroo and they always keep their standards consistent. They have large portions and you don’t need to order allot of things to be full.

Generous portions, freshly made and friendly staff. This isn’t a typical chippy, it’s located at the back of Rice (with the same family running it), the place is clean and food isn’t as greasy as you find in some places. You should make sure to include their mushy peas in your order, and you can also get a grilled fish for a slightly healthier take.

Amazing service. Amazing food. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were met by a lovely, friendly waitress who went through the menu with us making recommendations. The food came, it was delicious. What more could you want? Will definitely visit again.

Food here is always on point and great value considering the area. If you are around Chiswick high road, make sure you stop by and try one of the home made fish cakes. Also other reviews saying its "unforgiveable" that they charge for sauce will probably be surprised to hear this is the same in most fish and chip shops. Polite service, and great food, fish and chips done proper. Will be coming back.

If I’m in Chiswick there is only one place I’d want to eat. Been here many times and can safely say catch is the best fish and chips I’ve had will definitely be going back!

Myself & my friend went in for dinner. Food was ok but they added 2 extra items to our bill that we had not ordered. I queried it, they removed them but then were unnecessarily rude when we asked for a receipt when paying. Needless to say not the best food/service/expirence I have ever had and would not go back.

More than just Fish & Chips - platters of Persian food looked awesome on their way passed my table. My grilled haddock was excellent. People were friendly and attentive. I sat next to the bread oven and watched the guy make Persian flatbread. Fascinating. I would definitely go back.

We ordered two orders of cod and chips from our local fish and chip shop, The Catch in Chiswick via deliveroo. We sat down and were looking forward to a night-in eating a traditional English dish. The moment we both cut into the fish, there was a moment of silence when normally we interact and comment on the food we have in front of us. We continued to eat the "fish" but in silence. A few more minutes went by and almost instantaneously the silence was broken when my wife and I looked at each other in a disappointing stare. The fish was terrible, as soon as you cut into it, the fat and grease began squirting out. The mashed up bits of grey "fish" did not resemble cod whatsoever but a slimy mess of compressed odd bits of sea food. We have fish and chips from other places but never had anything like this before. The "fish" did not require any form of chewing as it was already mushed to a pulp. The dish seemed as if it was soaked in grease and cooked in cold oil. The food was thrown away. We will not be going to this place again.

Ordered Deliveroo whilst staying at the Clayton hotel. The food was fresh and tasty. However how can you send delivery food to a hotel address and not include cutlery, napkins and key for fish and chips, salt and vinegar? Eating mushy peas and coleslaw with your fingers is not to be recommended. Am I supposed to drink the gravy? Without salt and vinegar fish and chips just does not taste right! Not a big thing to get right and thoughtless that this restaurant would not think about how the customer would be able to eat their food. Annoying.

Went today and the entire place has been gutted. Apparently Rice from a few doors up is moving in as owned by same family. The two will operate in the same premises (opening 24th Nov '17)

Just wanted to sit down to eat our fish and chips. Ended up being taken to the back restaurant for a proper sit down waiter service: not what we wanted but went along with it. Wasn’t overly impressed with garnish. Just the fish and chips would of been good. As they tasted great!

El pescado es tan fresco y yo hace poco tuvimos la pasteles de pescado que eran fantásticos. Sin embargo, las patatas fritas son crujientes o muy agradable. Es una lástima. No sé si es el tipo de patata que utilice o el aceite no se caliente lo suficiente, pero las patatas fritas son terribles.

I have been there several times over the last couple of weeks. The chicken is good. Love the chips. The battered sausages are awesome, the batter is a little soft and a little crunchy. Sometimes I can't help but an get an extra battered sausage!

Really great fish with nice chips

I wouldn't go back. If you want fish, you MUST also have chips - no option not to. I asked if I could have the cod main dish without chips, and waitress said yes but the price is still the same! So I ordered Chicken Caesar salad instead, which was pretty poor - just a small amount of ultra greasy chicken pieces, with deep fried large bread squares, and a couple of slivers of cheese, and loads of lettuce. Meal deal from a supermarket would have been better! Other dislikes: toilet not very clean, and extractor fan not working (no window, so you NEED a working extractor!). Pleasant waitress, but absent for too long when I wanted her to bring the bill. Ambiance - I'd give it 1 out of 10.

Usually order from here. I really like the mushy peas and their tartare sauce. Chip portions are great. The size of fish has been dissapontingly small on a few occasions.

Me he comido aquí varias veces, ya que es bastante cerca donde yo vivo. El pescado es siempre fresco y bien preparado. Si eres un amante del pescado y patatas fritas, entonces van a tratar. Si, como yo, prefiere el pescado en el hueso, también se puede encontrar. Para los amantes del pescado no, también sirven hamburguesas y otros platos.

Ordered through deliveroo so maybe the delivery time affected the quality but left pretty disappointed. Battered sausage had definitely seen better days, soggy batter and didn't seem very fresh. Very big portion of chips but again seemed a bit soggy and not very fresh. Still searching for a London chippy that's as good as the ones up north!

Food was great, the mains in the dine-in menu came with a good serve of a variety of sides, and the restaurant decor was charming.

We have fish and chips from The Catch every week and today we placed an order over the phone like we always do. The head chef said 20 minutes to collect which was fine. We arrived 20 minutes later and on arrival the head chef then told us it would be another 10 minutes with half our food already bagged up and getting cold. There were many disgruntled people waiting, he didn't have a clue who's order was next. After another few minutes waiting he called us over to bag up the remainder of our order of which the haddock he was trying to give us was the size of a battered sausage! There was no apology from him and in the end we left with no food and went elsewhere! This is always a problem when the boss or his son are off! Highly disappointed!

Not the greatest chippie I've tried. Prices were fine and it was really quiet when I got there. The fish and chips I ordered was still dripping in oil after I took a bite out of it and some of the staff seemed a bit rude when I was still deciding what I wanted since I initially wanted something light but went with my gut-trusted favourite in the end. Can't say I had a good experience after that.

Good food. Usually pretty quick service at the takeaway or the restaurant

Avoid. I ordered Cod & Chips and when I broke open the cod, the flesh was very orange/pink and smelt really bad to point of gagging. Simply shocking. Never again - I actually think they use out of date meats to keep costs down. I'm planning on reporting to the authorities for surprise inspections.

I've been a customer from when they first opened and used to use Chris in Turnham Green but this place was close and fish and chips good. But over the past year the portion size and quality has decreased . I did enquire if they had new management but this was denied. I've given them the benefit of the doubt over the past year but there serving cold brown fish and chips at a price which is not acceptable. I think other locals must feel the same used to be very busy. Back to Turnham Green whose standard has always remained good. I'll never use again.

Hace lo que dice muy bien. Más recientemente también me he quedado agradablemente sorprendido por lo amable que son demasiado. Aunque esta vez fuimos a una comida para llevar, la pesca ha sido siempre un éxito con nuestros amigos y sus hijos.

Buena comida y buen servicio. Pelín caro para lo que es, pero a los niños les gustaba, así que vale la pena una visita. Duda volveré.

Myself and my partner had been eating here at least once every two weeks, this became our talked about fish and chip shop, and was always given plentiful portions of fresh food! However this evening we got our usual cod and chips, and home made tartare sauce which we picked up took and took home to have for our dinner. When I unwrapped the food I couldn't quite believe my eyes... it looked like our cod had been cut in half and served as two pieces, I was gobsmacked and to top it off we always ask for a large portion of chips which normally is so plentiful we both share and still have some left, however no word of a lie, there were about 25 chips!!!!!! If that is considered large then god we must have been having monster size portions before!! The homemade tartare again is normally plentiful but this time I was given two tablespoons full, which is not acceptable considering the charge for this!!! I don't really know what has happened, but for god sake get the boss back behind the counter to run this place like the early days of them opening, before you end up losing all your regular customers! I'm sad to be having to even write this especially as i've only had such experiences in the last 3 months!!!! Do something to revert it back to the same standard as before, before its too late!!!!

I ordered skate and chips and the fish was freshly cooked. It was ok, It was a very small piece of fish and there were hardly any chips. Maximising the profits just makes customers like me think twice about returning.

I made a point of telling the waitress that I did NOT want any tomato in garnish or side salad. If the meal had been tomato-free the restaurant would have achieved 5 stars since both the starter and fish were cooked well and served hot.The fish was cooked in mozzo meal and NOT at all greasy (as batter can be).I'll certainly come here again if in the area.

Avoid. The owner is aggressive and rude but until recently the food has been decent quality. This has unfortunately declined significantly. Top tip, if a customer asks for a particular piece of fish or sausage then give it to them. Don't angrily ask them 'what the bloody difference is' and throw it back at them......

Popped in for fish and chips with son. Ordered the cod lunch box and was genuinely surprised at the decent portion size. Was cooked fresh to order and staff were all friendly and cheery.

Poor. Went in to order some 'fast food' stood waiting after ordering and the chap told me it would be 8 minutes to get my food. Didn't have time to wait so asked for a refund, said they didn't do refunds. Not sure about the food but customer service severely lacking.

Pretty decent chippy shop - had better. Not one to write home about but not entirely bad. Worth a visit if you're in the area and want to grab some decent fish and chips.

Just finished eating my take out from here. Friendly service, good portions and great tasting food! I'm a big fan of a good fish and chips and The Catch did not disappoint!!! If I'm in the area again, I will return! (Cod, chips, curry sauce, mushy peas!)

Tried this place as heard about the great fish and chips. Went with a friend for dinner and decided to east in. Not a great place with metal chairs and art decor that my 9 yr old could of done a better job of. I ordered the fish plater which looked good, but from the first bite I could tell it wasn't fresh fish, but from frozen. My friend said it was good, but I've definitely had better. Wouldn't recommend if your a seafood lover like me.

They cooked my chips extra brown on request, though will ask for more cooking next time, at least they tried. Gherkins are massive, ketchup is Heinz and in large effective bulbs that hit the chips not your palms. They were friendly and helpful enough and take visa unlike their rubbish competitors. Happy again as the chip shop situation has left a rather large hole in my otherwise terribly sad life!!!

Abgestiegen im Clayton Chiswick bekammen wir Hinger und wollten einen Snack. Wir waren uns nicht einig, ob wir eine Portion nehmen oder Take Away: wir entschieden uns für die Portion. Es kam ein Riesenteller! Wir konnten fast nicht mehr! Es war aber wirklich sehr delicious!Und das geplante Abendessen in der City of London wurde dann nur noch eine Vorspeise!

I absolutely love the Catch. The food is truly amazing. The fish is so fresh, I always say 'you can actually taste the sea' in it :) I would strongly recommend their lemon sole fillet. As for starters: You must try their garlic chilli prans! Absolutely delicious. I've eaten in the Catch many times and every dish was great. Even their side salad is soooo good! The Catch is a little weak when it comes to their desserts but even they are ok. I think 'the smashed meringue' one is the best.The restaurant is specious, airy and modern. If you visit in summer, I recommend one of thr tables by the open windows, really nice spot.

Excellent chips, but a bit over priced. The £5.50 lunch box menu makes up for the hefty evening prices if your around in the day time though.

It's my local fish and chips. Been dinning in/take away from them for years. Never disappointed. Fish always fresh and never greasy. Huge portions. Reasonable prices. Friendly service.

Not taking cards for orders under ten pounds is not cool. Charging 25p for tomato sauce and tartare sauce unforgivable.Never going back.

We stopped on a whim and enjoyed a simple starter and main course meal after a long drive back to London on a Sunday night. We had low expectations but were pleasantly surprised by the service, food and presentation. It is a fish and chip shop and it was good to sit down and eat proper fish shop chips from a plate.

Had 1 day in London and wanted to try fish and chips. Cabbie recommended this place. I think take out option is most economical. We ate in and kids meal of so-so fried shrimp bites and chips and ice cream and my halibut and chips meal was almost US $40-25GPB. So take out fish and chips packages start at 6GBP, much better deal. Eat-in dinner was only 1 big piece of fish and lots of very good chips, but nothing extraordinary and certainly not real value. It was made to order and fried on the spot however.

Visited Saturday night and ate in the restaurant. Plenty of fish choice as well as salads and beers, wines, soft drinks and hot drinks. Fish is available in batter or matzo ( a bready cover)and we add both between us! Excellent batter is lightly fried and service very good and attentive. Costs higher than a typical chip shop but worth the difference for this type of quality. Recommended

Having used this restaurant several times in the past 18 months we always found it to serve tasty fish , great homemade tartare sauce with good service . however , on visiting last night , my partner and I were the only sitting guests at approx 930pm on a Saturday. I went to the ladies, to find it occupied .after waiting some time I went back to my table, and finally managed to use the facilities some 10 mins later. Meal arrived, OK but certainly not as tasty as on previous visits, and the tartare sauce is clearly not of the same quality it used to be . there was a lot of going and firing from the back, and it appears they are using out back to prepare food for a completely different restaurant /takeaway !After our meal I needed to use the ladies , again it was busy and yet the place was empty .This time I waited.....the sounds emitting from the locked toilet were revolting ......after some five minutes ...the door opened ..and out came a male member of staff!!!!!!!! I was astounded !I told him it was the ladies ...his response was ...so what ! How revolting. I couldn't use the facilities as clearly he had been evacuating his bowel and the stench was vile. At no point were the men's toilet occupied , with 2 patrons and I was 1, my partner the other. To eat my meal and then be faced by a cook using the ladies ......urrrghhhhhh !If a simple male/ladies rule has no regard then what hygiene rules are they ignoring in the kitchen ????????????My advice .Avoid ! Clearly new owner /staff who have no regard for public health . I do not expect to eat in a restaurant and then have to face the chef crapping and spitting in the ladies. Revolting .

Best fish and chips in west London. It might set you back a few bob but it's well worth the money. And chips are amazing too !

Great fish and chips. After going through a VERY rough patch they are back to their old good quality food! The lunch box deal is great! They back now to not cooking the chips properly.
