Very nice pub, good food, super friendly staff, plenty of parking, walking distance to the castle.

Went for lunch here, so cannot comment on the rooms or location. The food and service was really good and a lovely atmosphere for a Friday lunch time. Definitely will be back.

As a New Zealander working abroad, I’ve yet to come across a hotel which encapsulates a feeling of class, comfort, and homeliness until now! The warmth that this hotel brings was second to none! You’ve got to either dine in, drop by for a drink, or stay the night if you are visiting Leicester!

Update : We stopped coming a couple of years ago as the quality dropped. Went again today and it was worse, so won't be going again. The staff are still nice but the food isn't. My dish was smaller and overcooked, my beer was warm (can of Guinness), the other meals were mediocre. Nothing was bad bad but we are paying for a better than "spoons" experience. Shame as we really liked the place. Old review : Lovely place with super friendly staff. Food is always good and there is plenty of park at the back.

The food and service here is amazing! We were greeted by staff with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for anyone! Olivia served us throughout the night and the dishes recommended to us by her were delicious! Such a lovely place to visit.

Booked a table for brunch at the weekend, place was so busy! Becca, Pam and Liv, looked after us so well considering they were rushed off their feet! Another great visit, will be back soon

Love this hotel, everyone makes you feel so welcome especially Becca, Paul, Pam. Food excellent and plentiful. Rooms clean, modern, comfortable and the little added extras make your stay feel very special. Even has decent sized cups! All this and a wonderful moted castle within walking distance.

Had a smashing breakfast at there. i was meeting some colleagues after a drive up form the capital city. Lovely, warm, friendly staff and the breakfast was truly exceptional. Would love to come and stay as the hotel is in a lovely quiet location with easy access to the M1. Highly recomended.

Came in for a lovely lunch today, had Bangers & Mash. Was served by a young lady called Lauren who was very polite & nothing was too much trouble, made our lunch a very enjoyable one 👍🏻

We visit the castle a lot as it is our local and very friendly with great food and drink options. We had a lovely family meal on a Friday and Zach served us. He was so helpful and very attentive to all of us, replacing my drink without bother when it didn’t taste right! Nothing was too much trouble! Thank you Zach! :)

After a looooong night shift I was looking for somewhere to stop for breakfast. My GF sent me the postcode to The Castle saying it looked like it did breakfast. I parked up, went in, asked about breakfast and although I wasn't a guest they were kind enough to seat me for breakfast and what a result The food and drinks were absolutely spot on and the staff were so down to earth, polite, welcoming and funny The two members at work couldn't do enough for me. Pam and Steve are an absolute credit to this hotel and if I'm ever back this way will 100% return Highly recommended Paul

This was a last minute booking for myself and my partner and we were so pleased we decided to come here. Steve, the Duty Manager, greeted us warmly and was extremely helpful. We had managed to book the last available room and it was amazing. Very clean, with a large king size bed and a very large ensuite. We had booked an evening meal and were definitely not disappointed. The menu was varied and very good value for money. Tavis, our server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel is literally next to a moated castle and we enjoyed a lovely walk around the moat in the morning. We had booked breakfast and that certainly didn't disappoint. Pam was very helpful and informative, making us feel very welcome. We loved this hotel and would certainly go back if in the area again.

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and food in the restaurant. All staff have been very friendly, attentive and helpful. Room was quiet and had everything we needed. Nice to have iron and board without having to request it. Lots of additional touches. Welcome tray with a lovely, personal message and as we would call it, ‘posh’ biscuits and drinks options with additional thought of the option of fresh milk for drinks if wanted- a little milk urn to be filled upon request and keep the milk cool! Breakfast was excellent value, again with attentive, friendly staff. Would recommend and stay again!

As we’re local to the hotel we only came for food, restaurant, bar and terrace are lovely settings. Service was impeccable by all staff we dealt with, but ISOBEL in particular went above and beyond, and she is a credit to The Castle @ Kirby Muxloe

Great friendly service my waitress was very helpful with helping me decide what to order.it was my forat time there and will defo return.food was delish and guiness was one the best i have had lately.

Came back again and sat in the garden to enjoy the sun and have a drink. We were served by Liv who was very friendly when serving us. Didn’t have food this time but still one of our favourite places to come!

We came for food, and was made to feel very welcome by all the Lovely staff. We were served by Izzy V, who was very chatty young lady and knew alot about the food being served. The food was very good, and then we went to sit in the Garden Patio area which was really nice end to the day. We will be back again soon.

We had the rosemary white chocolate tart & the apple tart, both desserts were lovely and the addition of ice cream on top really made them great. Our server Steve was great and provided lovely service. Will be coming again.

We meet up once a month for the breakfast club, and this month's venue was the Castle inn. The breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent.

This is one of our local pubs in the village and we come for food here very regularly. On this occasion there was a group of eight of us having dinner on a Saturday night as a catch up. Food menu is great and we were served by Ellie, who was attentive, friendly, explained the menu to us, as it had changed and recommended some dishes too. Great service, thanks Ellie for your help!

Very disappointing food and overpriced! If you like the taste of disappointment this is the place for you. My burger was dry, cold in the middle, and tasteless. The so called ‘pulled brisket’ inside was actually (and literally) four 2cm chunks of overcooked steak and had chunks of fat on it…was so chewy it had to be removed. My chips were dry and clearly re-heated. My partner’s chicken was also dry and the tiniest portion with some stale veg. This used to be a great place for food but now, not only is the quality so poor but also overpriced. Beer and burger, chicken breast and soft drink came to just shy of £50.

Great food, rooms are ok, staff are friendly, would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely meal here for a 90th birthday party. We pre-ordered all of our meals which was efficient but probably takes away that element of "What do I fancy right now?". The staff catered for 16 of us with ages from 4 to 90 and everything was good.

Very reasonable price for an overnight break of a journey and had a late drink in the bar before heading to bed. Room was well decorated for the price. Only challenge wax checking in (not very clear where or how from the car park and several entrances) and then the long walk and many stairs to get to our room.

Booked in to the castle res had a very good meal service from Ellie was brilliant would def recomend Rob Carol Richard and Lynn.

Wanted a couple of sides to order for outside, went up to the bar at 8pm and it took me 20 minutes to get served. At that point the gentleman said they wouldnt do food outside, so i went away with my beer a little dissapointed and 25 minutes goes by.. Two bowls of chips come out? Another 10 minutes goes by and another bowl of chips come out for the table behind us? Either theyd waited 50+ minutes for a bowl of chips or something needs organising bad 👎🏻 the manager was very polite and welcoming though.

Excellent food. Reasonable service. Disappointed that my two favourite beers Tribute and Abbott were unavailable that evening. Will definitely come again. ...and I did. Beer and food didn't disappoint.

I visited here a number of times for breakfast. Nothing ever too much trouble, very welcoming and the cooked breakfast is top quality.

Have friends come to Kirby from Leeds we went to The Castle tonight fantastic meal,fantastic service,lve lived in Kirby for almost 30yrs the Castle has aways been my favourite eateries,this landlord has taken it up a hell of a notch,fabulous place,food and staff,keep it up best pub in Kirby.Diane Ward.

Just got back from a first time visit, for wife's birthday. We really enjoyed the service and food was to a very high standard and lovely portion sizes. Will definitely be returning in the not to distant future. Q

went for Burns night meal on Thursday - absolutely fantastic and well worth the money. portion sizes very generous - struggled to get through all 4 courses. had the pheasant, haggis, Balmoral chicken and finally the cranachan.
