The Cake Cupboard At Burnside Lodge in Argyll & Bute

Amazing we cake stop on Islay. Perfect for a local cake and coffee, all delicious and with a lovely area nearby to admire the spectacular view.

Stumbled across the Cake Cupboard and had a chat with Kate. Lovely cake slices (£3), Kate made me a flat white (£2.80) and the OH had a cold can. There’s an honestly box but also a QR code to pay using a phone (I’m with EE and had good signal). We took our treasure down to the slipway where there is a table and chairs and enjoyed the view over to the lighthouse.

We were doing a walk around Portnaven and Port Weymms and this was a lovely place to stop for a drink and slice of cake. The cakes were delicious! There are benches outside so we could sit in the sun and enjoy our snack while listening to the seals singing on the island opposite before contining on our walk.
