Came across this Cafe after being turned away from another as it was too busy. How glad was I?! The homemade cakes are unbelievable and the coffee was perfect. I cannot fault the place even with the COVID-19 procedures in place the service was quick and friendly.

The staff was very welcoming and nice, they didn't pressure me to order quickly or anything. The coffee shop itself is pretty small and cozy, there's no background music but it's a very relaxced atmosphere. The wifi is free. Service took 10 minutes for my food. They offer breakfast and lunch: open sandwiches, wraps, paninis, toasties, salads, they have vegan and vegetarian options. For 4,65 I had an avocado, tomato and mozzarella toastie. The avocado was a bit firm, but the bread was great, the cheese was well melted, the tomatoes were delicious, as were the salad and coleslaw. I'm very happy with my visit!

After a very early start in Tobermory, 9 hungry travellers descended on Cafe Harris for a much needed breakfast. Julie and Eilidh were amazing and despite our invasion at short notice, provided my 8 French guests and I with the best breakfast of their visit to date. Everything cooked fresh to order, accompanied by excellent selection of teas, coffee and juices. 👌 Huge thanks Julie and Eilidh, you saved the day. Next time we’ll pre-book table/menu and give you some warning.See you soon!

Café Harris. It is a nice little café close to town center and Tesco superstore. Therefore parking is free for 3 hours. Plenty of time for coffee after your shopping. I quite like it. It is spacious, you can have your meal or drink outside if weather is good. However, they haven’t mastered yet the art of serving caffe macchiato. It was good but we were served a mug-full of it. Never mind, we are just fussy. Closed on Sunday.

We came across Café Harris when we were mooching around Oban having got off there on a day coach trip from our hotel by Loch Awe. I am so glad we ventured in. It is relatively small, but such friendly owners. We only had a scone, jam and butter and a cup of tea, but it was delicious. It was the best tea we had drunk since leaving our own home a few days earlier. The scone was home made and the jam was like home-made - I know as I make my own raspberry jam as this was its equal. I had a nice chat to the owners - husband and wife team. I am so pleased to recommend this café, you won't be disappointed.

We were staying a short distance from this cafe so popped in for breakfast. It is a beautiful little cottage in an alley leading to TESCO, therefore one can get necessities either before or after visiting the cafe.Service- Brilliant! Nothing is a problem and orders are taken quickly and always with a smileFood- We had breakfast which was superb. Everything was fresh, yummy eggs, terrific big breakfast and my husband who is a really pedantic in having his coffee after breakfast, well it was timed perfectly! We returned the next morning again for breakfast and were treated like long-standing friends. The staff are lovely and the food is really nice. It’s a nice cosy hideaway in an otherwise busy town. I was a bit disappointed, however, as I am new to the area and I noticed that a customer who knew one of the staff members well was able to get a breakfast after breakfasts had stopped being served. I had asked about breakfasts but was not given this as an option. I do find it hard to swallow when different rules apply to people who are considered more local than others. I am not the kind of person to leave a bad review and mark down your perfect ratings, but please consider this for the future as I would like to come back.

Dropped into Café Harris the other day, usual warm and friendly greeting from the staff. As the weather wasn't great I decided to have the home made potato and leek soup....wow wasn't that a good choice?? Tasty, filling, lovely fresh wholemeal bread, highly recommend this or anything else on the menu....the beauty of made to order service. I don't drink coffee at home nowadays so I had one of their lattes, just a s great as ever.

Had a lovely lunch here and would definitely recommend. Was a rainy day in Oban and was just needing a nice bowl of soup. Had a lovely vegetable soup and bread was lovely, good portion size and definitely cheapest in the town. My partner had his soup with the wrap deal which again was a great cost and very plentiful. The two coffees were just lovely and the milk was how they should be for a latte and cappuccino. Service was great. Lovely experience ☺️

I frequent Café Harris almost on a daily basis and due to circumstances I'm mostly there in the mornings, soon after opening time so I have breakfast.Café Harris has a more than adequate breakfast menu, traditionally based with a few imaginative and well presented differences.

Cafe Harris is one of only TWO places in Oban (that we found, and we did look!) that make coffee that tastes like coffee (instead of vaguely coffee-ish milk!). We are from Melbourne, in Oz, so there's a style, perhaps that we are used to. So this isn't a criticism of other places, but simply a compliment to Cafe Harris: if you like really good, full-flavoured coffee, this place is for you. But wait! There's more! The staff are really welcoming and friendly, particularly Julie, who runs the place (I think). We stayed in Oban for a month and had morning coffee at Cafe Harris on probably seven or eight occasions. Excellent every time. The place is spotlessly clean and has a comfy sofa near a little bow-window, so you can check people passing by - a constant and entertaining parade! The food - cakes and scones - is super fresh and very tasty. It's prepared and presented very quickly and every attention (but not intrusively) is made to ensure you're happy and comfortable. We haven't been here for a meal yet, but we'll do do before we go!

Not knowing the city and in great need of a morning coffee, we sat down on the terrace at the first place we came across (which shall not be named). After waiting a while with no service ("I'll be with you in a minute!"… not) we saw Cafe Harris and decided to go there instead. Right away, a warm and friendly welcome! Ordered two lattes and breakfast, all excellent. There's also a nice selection of sweet treats for the sugar enclined. Definitely worth a stop!

Visited Cafe Harris two days ago. We noticed the new cafe and thought we'd try it out for coffee and a scone - both were delicious. The place was clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. We will be back. Not to take away from the above positive comments just one observation that was noted is that there does not appear to be much for those who follow a vegetarian diet, but then perhaps it's only a matter of asking.

My husband and I visited Oban for the first time in a few years. We came across this cafe quite by accident because it's tucked away in what seems a wee corner. We first went in for tea/coffee and cake in the mid morning. Service was excellent and friendly. Cakes delicious. Although not too big the seating was very comfortable. A bright airy atmosphere. We decided, because we were impressed that we'd go back for a late lunch. Again we were not at all disappointed. Delicious freshly prepared food served in a very friendly manner. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to this cafe for a nice experience when visiting Oban. The lady who owned the cafe said it had only been opened for a few weeks. They've made a good start, long may it continue.

A real find - fine dining experience in Mull. Each course of the tasting menu exquisite. Each paired wine spot on. Our hosts explained each dish & wine. Inventive use of local products beautifully combined to give great textures & flavours. The crystal pastry starter looked magical. The accompanying oyster sorbet in a cone refreshing. Duck perfectly cooked maintaining a little pinkness in the centre & the berry jus great. The dessert a wonderful combination of sweet & sour.I'd go every week if I lived on Mull.

Brilliant place. The couple who run it are really friendly and happy to discuss the food and offer suggestions. We had venison burger, cajun chicken wrap and shared chips. Portion sizes are big and the food is delicious. The chips are great - much better than those served at Talla Na Marra. I've never seen a wrap wrapped the way it was - more like a crepe, but there was lots of chicken on it as well as cheese, onions and salad. Really tasty. Venison burger was huge and melt in the mouth. Add 2 cans of pop and it came to less than £20 for a filling, hot, tasty meal. Couldn't recommend Island Bites more highly.

This is the first place I head to every time I get to Rothesay. The best coffee on the island - no competition. Plus an incredible salted hot chocolate (I buy bags of the stuff to take back to London), plus amazing pastries and excellent soup for lunch. And Mhairi and her team are always good for a natter and to bring you up to speed on the island gossip and recent celebrity sightings. I also rarely leave without a new pair of earrings thanks to the Bonnie Bling range they stock.
