抱吃。。I live next door, not the hotel guest,the worst Chinese/ Singapore restaurant in London ever, the stem bun is still semi frozen inside, I can’t chew the beef and the chicken taste like sandpaper…. The only thing I like is their service, Please avoid! （if you are foreigner 老外ignore my review)

Thought I would give the Hainanese chicken rice a try despite mixed reviews. The bad reviews are true. Rice is plain and chicken is dry… I can cook better at home 😂 No offense but those who said the chicken rice is authentic must not have gone back to Singapore in a long time.

Still the best har gau in the area and very good other offerings. The beef chow fun is worth ordering every time. I hadn't been in a bit and was delighted to see the food has maintained or even improved its already excellent quality. I would give five stars, but bar noise does travel into the dining room; if wanting a quieter meal, ask to be sat deeper into the dining room.

We had a late lunch there. Great service, but food is just ok. Only the foreigner will like it. Laksa - very small portion at a £23, taste is so-so Hanianese chicken rice - rice got the color but no flavor, chicken is acceptable. Bak Kut Teh 肉骨茶 - this one is a good one, especially in winter. When we saw the receipt, we pretty surprised there is a 20% for UK VAT on the bill. Wondering is it a norm in UK for all restaurants 🤔 ?

Beautiful restaurant. It was close to our apartment during our stay and we ate here twice! Everything was excellent. Don’t hesitate to give it a chance!

I really did enjoy this evening. The food was perfect , staff attentive and a warm and cosy atmosphere Bravo!

The quality of food definitely did not match the location and price tag. Tasteless dishes. Pathetic portion. The worst Hainan Chicken Rice I’ve ever had. The chicken had no flavour, dry and tasted like papers. I’d say most of local Chinese takeaways would do a better job than them.

A prawn dish had salami in it ...2 prawns and 6 pieces of salami. I cannot eat meat and find it offensive that they would not put this in the menu. The waitress tried to be nice and took the service charge off but what should have been removed was the dish that was contaminated.

Great to taste genuine Asian food.

It was as close as dining in Singapore and recollect the dishes were almost identical. They were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. As this was our first time we will be going back. Managed to reminisce with a few of the staff about Orchard Road and even PJ

Whenever I visit London, I rendez-vous with friends here because the food is just out of this world. The service is excellent! Eva, our waitress, is simply the best. The atmosphere is discreet and chic, and the bar is the perfect place to start the evening with drinks. I highly recommend eating fine Asian cuisine here.

Mid food, slightly under staffed. We got the lunch set which had the soup and main. The soup of the day was tomato which was nice on a cold day. If in the area and craving Singaporean then this will do but I’ve definitely had better in London.

Better avoid if you know Malaysian/Singaporean foods.

Used to go here so often when it was at the previous site around the corner. The quality has gone way down since then and it’s a lot more expensive too … such a shame as it was sooo good.

okay, I don't know why people says the service is bad, I think they are just short staffed, the waiter and waitress are almost running from table to table. Nonetheless I had a great time here, good food and very friendly service, a bit pricey though, but I understand this is UK and you just can not have the Singaporean price for a laksa. didn't wait long to get my food, and left stuffed, sweaty and happy

Food was excellent particularly the salt & pepper squid that was probably one of the best we ever had. Eva was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. The lively atmosphere complemented what was a memorable dining experience.

The restaurant is beautiful with a great ambiance. The food was delicious, but the staff, though friendly, seemed a bit inattentive. We had to wait quite a while to order and pay. Maybe they were just busy that day.

Five of us dined here on a Saturday night. We tried the crispy tofu as an appetizer- incredible! For our mains, we had the Hainanese chicken rice, wonton soup, a beef with noodle dish recommended by our waitress, and fried rice. All the dishes were really flavorful and tasty- though the beef was the best of the lot. The staff were helpful, professional, and friendly. The restaurant is pretty and romantic. I would absolutely recommend visiting if in the area.

We could still be sitting and waiting to order if we hadn’t asked for some service. The food when it arrived was good.

Probably the best laksa I've had in London. Perfectly spiced and good portion size. The lunch option was quite filling with soup and a main, we also added a dim sum to our order. Would highly recommend the Singaporean laksa and the prawn and chive dumplings!

Read good reviews. Where other customers found excellent grilled meat (it’s not there), the duck died a natural death and also withered, the noodles waited a week for us, the shrimp dumplings were disgusting and also not the first freshness, and the soups, if you don’t call them snot, that’s not saying anything at all. They poured sweet and sour sauce over everything and swallowed something. The service is terrible, it feels like they are working part-time from a nursing home with musculoskeletal problems (nothing personal). But when we began to pay, everyone began to run around and look for change (there was no desire to leave a tip at all). We washed all this crap down with beer and went to the opposite side and went to the store for more beer. After the restaurant, it was definitely the first time in the store that I no longer had the desire to go to another. But the people poured out (the feeling is that in London, even if they sell fikalia, there will be a demand for them.

Fantastic food AND allergen friendly! I have an egg and tree nut allergy and I was able to safely have the pan seared pork dumplings, the crispy pork pancake, the spring rolls, and the DELICIOUS Hainanese chicken rice! I would recommend this to anyone.

Beautiful restaurant serving a variety of Singapore / Malaysian food. Food is not really authentic but I liked the classy interior and the Happy Hour cocktails.

A very upscale Singaporean restaurant. I thought the meals were better shared amongst the table. The sizzling beef was very tender and the aromatic crispy duck with pancakes was absolutely amazing

Food is only ok, more Cantonese than Singaporean. Comfortable seating, nice atmosphere. There are more restaurants in London which serve authentic Singaporean food than this one. For the same amount of money, there are better options elsewhere.

This restaurant is one of those rare gems in central London where the food is constantly good, and the service is kind and attentive. I am a regular client and would highly recommend it.

Have told to sit outside on stairs to wait for order. Wait after 20 minutes, which I have been told for waiting time. Nothing come out, until I went in to ask and it placed aside. Unpleasant experience.

The food was very tasty and there was a good variety to choose from. One dish wasn't quite what we expected but it was still tasty. Service was friendly and efficient.

I am sorry but I would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant. The food was lacking, overpriced and the service was frankly appalling. The Hainanese chicken was average. The rice was not fragrant enough. The satay chicken was very dry and not well marinated. The laksa was delicious and of a good portion, perhaps the only acceptable part of the meal. Finally, we also had Angus beef fried ho fun, which was a disaster. The ho fun stuck to each other, and the beef was dry and flavourless. It’s a very standard Cantonese dish and I am surprised to see how bad it was. But perhaps the most disappointing part was the service. The waiters were disinterested and were on their phones. Our tea came unbrewed (not under - someone popped a teabag into the pot and brought it to us). No one ever asked if the food was ok or checked in with us. Another table had to raise their voice JUST so they could pay. I understand South East Asian food is hard to come by in London but it is not an excuse to charge extra for a below average meal. Avoid.

This restaurant had a really comfortable and posh atmosphere. We really enjoyed the authentic Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine. The Singaporean Laksa and Hainanese Chicken Rice were the best. We highly recommend the lunch set menu which had soup of the day, selection of lunch dish and add-on dim sum and dessert. Great portion size and worth the price - the mango dessert was nice! Our server Eva, provided exceptional service and we had pleasant conversation with her about the food and the restaurant’s award achievements. We will definitely come back for the amazing food, atmosphere, and service!

One of the best meals we've ever had. So flavorful, every dish more surprisingly delicious than the next. Lovely atmosphere and very helpful staff. Highly recommend if anywhere near south Kensington. Worth a tube ride.

Good service and atmosphere, but food was not impressed.

We walked in and asked for a table for two. Paul the manager automatically discriminated against my friend and i who are both black, and were casually dressed. There were empty tables all around but Paul sat us at the back in the bar. Whist sat at the back, we heard a man ask for a table for two, and he was taken to a table with his partner some 5-10mins later - without a reservation. We ordered alot of food (bill came to £80) and some of it was dim sum. We needed to know what had what ingredients (pork / prawn) and in the 30mins we waited until we finally asked where our last dish was, no one came to check on us or how our food was. When our last dish arrived we Asked to speak with the manager. I expressed all of the above and Paul proceeded to deny all of it, speak over me when i was explaining the issue, put his hands to his head as though i was crazy, and say “what do you want Me to do”. He also accused me of calling him racist which we quickly reminded him that i used the word “discriminated”. His customer service was -10, his demeanour unfriendly, and overall this experience was the worst. Considering the last time i went here i brought in my dog, it just shows where people of colour are in the queue.

The laksa, scallops with asparagus and xo sauce especially delicious. Really friendly and attentive waiting staff. We had Eva as our server and she was fantastic

Overly priced mediocrity. Food was nothing exciting. As a southeast Asian it’s not worth it honestly.

This is the newly refurbished Bugis and we used to be quite big fans of the old less posh looking restaurant. The new one looks too fancy, prices are higher but the food is still excellent in my opinion. I’d highly recommend the crunchy tofu for starters and the aubergine for main. Note that portions are really huge, we were surprised at how generous they were. Overall we paid £175 for four with no drinks.

The worst Chinese restaurant where I have ever eaten in my entire life, the kitchen is terrible, it couldn't be worse, the service was very absent-minded, not recommended.

Went personally to make reservations at the restaurant 8 days before dining. Was told that they didn't take reservations. Arrived at 8.30pm for dinner 8 days later and was told that the restaurant was fully booked and asked why we didn't make reservations. Bad bad form. 👎 Staff needs more training.

Choosing this restaurant near our hotel turned out to be a brilliant decision after canceling our reservation elsewhere. Not only did we savor authentic Singaporean cuisine for the first time, but the dishes were also incredibly flavorful. The service, while decent, had room for improvement in terms of attentiveness. Portion sizes were generous; sharing two substantial dishes among four would have sufficed. Despite the hefty bill, it was justified by the satisfying fullness it provided for the entire night. A solid 10/10 recommendation, especially if you find yourself in the Kensington area.

This restaurant is convenient. Right off Gloucester Road. We walked in without an appointment. The food was decent.

We enjoyed our evening spent at this restaurant. Just as we walked in we were greeted by friendly and professional staff. As soon as we ordered - food was on the table. If you are looking for prestige, I recommend this restaurant.

Bit pricy but chicken rice and laksa were so good

Used to be the best during my university days when it was next door to where it is now. Now the service is slow, short staffed and the food is just meh 😐

Where do I begin, I had such high hopes. Restaurant was very small, tight and not the best Decor. Food was absolutely disappointing Beef black bean, meat was so tough and tasted like cheap quality, chewy and not very tasty. Taiwanese chicken was a disaster, worst dish I've had in a long time. Drinks were room temperature! Service was beyond a joke, very slow, no care shown, when ordering was told not to get Lamb chops as they take long and they wanted to close the kitchen (this was just past 9pm) Definitely won't be returning.

The service and atmosphere were great, although the main dish took quite a while. Unfortunately we got food poisoning and were sick all night after eating there on Monday night this week.

Great far eastern food as authentic as it gets.

a definite increase in standard from the previous Bugis which has moved to the Copthrone Tara. i would say a slight over pricy for the meal though very well done but I can head over to Leicester Sq for something less expensive but equal in quality. nonetheless the place is good for a catch up and chat. also super convenient in terms of being next to Gloucester tube. i got the nasi goreng and a dish of vege. You can see the menu too.

We really did enjoy the food, all the flavours were great but I have to say it is a bit overpriced in my opinion and I'm not sure I'd pay that much. But if you are fine with the prices it definitely hits the spot and portions are decent too. . The lunch set menu is good value. However, the first Hanan chicken I ordered was too tough, the waitress was willing to change it for me. The presentation of the dim sum (siu mai) can be improved - they were all upside down.

Oh my god, don't order the lobster Singapore. Far too sweet - it's over powering the natural flavour of the lobster. Unfortunately, it comes covered with source but the meat is not released from the shell. No tools, no finger bowl, no chance! The friendly waitress had to work hard for 30 min to get it fixed. It's a no go for £88 I say.

My favourite dish was sichuan aubergine to eat with rice! Other dishes I had was also good sambal sotong and pak choi. The Singapore Laksa also tasted decently good as locally from Singapore.

Regular user -preferred previous location in Millennium hotel as it seems did staff,!Present seems less buzzy and more subdued lighting but seems to be doing well -Have eaten there a couple of times in kast week -its handy if staying in Baileys -but food is good -nasi goreng and prawn fried rice -separately -were good .Hot and sour soup was OK but heavy on the tofu. My service was fine but noticed there appeared to be wrinkles elsewhere -inability to supply rose wines /house white other than chardonnay or fleurie a puzzle

The lovely staff members from Kazakhstan do not seem to have attended any English lessons and are unable to converse fluently in English.

The search is over. Having lived and worked in Singapore in the late 90s, we knew what a real hainanese chicken rice tastes like. And for >20years we have struggled to find an authentic Singapore restaurant. Enter BUGIS St! I cannot fault their food, service and location. Topnotch!

From student days and now as hotel guest I have been eating at bugis for over 30 years. Staff have always made up with their excellent dedication and service. Can’t fault them. Owners are too greedy. In this new venue local signatures food is worse than it was before, not up to standard and it is expensive too. Found it too salty and dishes was just ok not great. Can’t believe there is a £2 cover charge ! Where’s the linen table cloth or napkin ? plus service charge, so your one dish meal like chicken rice is £22 in total. For this amount I can have a better quality meal at The Ivy or a more reputable restaurant. Zack bistro opposite is better value for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Certainly not coming back !

Stumbled upon this place which is very near to Gloucester Road Station. My wife and I entered this place with trepidation as we are from Singapore and this place claims to be a Singapore restaurant. Our experiences so far overseas with such restaurants are usually bad. But this place proves us wrong. My wife ordered the Nasi Lemak and I had the Hainanese chicken rice. The Nasi Lemak is as real as it gets. The sambal is definitely home made and is heavenly. Likewise the chicken rice is indeed very tasty. I dare say it may be even a tad better than home. The meat is tender and the condiments are winners. The chili is something to remember. Overall experience is good. Customer service is good too. Definitely deserves a second visit.

Bugis Street Brasserie, once known for its comforting Singaporean food, has taken a disappointing turn. The Half Hainanese Chicken (£22) had only had flavours on the outside (because of the oil), while the inside was tough and unseasoned. The Ma-po Tofu (£17) was decent but overpriced, and the Beef Ho-Fun (£16) was unremarkable. The Chairman's Hokkien Mee (£16) was a subpar attempt at the popular dish (it was not a Singaporean NOR Malaysian Hokkien Mee), reminiscent of a ready-to-eat meal on an economy flight. The only standout item was the Nyonya Assam Fillet Seabass (£19), which featured a delicious blend of onions, tomatoes, fresh chili, and crunchy okra, perfectly complementing the fish. Sadly, Bugis Street Brasserie no longer lives up to its reputation, with the exception of the delightful Nyonya Assam Fillet Seabass. Full review @jagglet on Instagram.

Very very good original favour South East Asia food. Good price for this quality in this prime location

I've been there 100 time in the past 13 years , they just moved to this new place. Always have a Khoa Mun Kia or Hainanese chicken with rice, which is super delicious.

The food was good. HOWEVER THE SERVICE WAS NOT. We had apps and entrees on the table at the same time, and my seven year olds food was the last to arrive, many minutes after the rest of our food was cold. When I complained and they brought me the 100$ check, they offered me 10$.

The décor of the place is plain and not inspiring. The chicken I had was a small portion that came with a very salty clear soup. It is expensive for the price. However, the food was cooked fresh and cannot taste much MSG.

I have visited here once before when staying at The Bailey's Hotel. This time I visited but stayed elsewhere unfortunately. The food was very tasty just like last time. Generous portions and brought out quickly. Drinks are a little expensive but it doesn't put a dampener on the experience. I will continue to go back.

Dinner there with friend, good services and food up to standard

A very well appointed restaurant, which sadly underwhelms. Perhaps because I have lived in Singapore I knew the flavours and ingredients I was looking for. The HOKKIAN Fried noodles were heavily drenched in soy sauce. The fried squid was acceptable with less soy sauce than the previous dish. The LAkSA was a delicious and authentic flavour however the rice noodles were not properly prepared with many of them clumped together. It was not the memorable/sentimental Singaporean meal I had hoped for.
