With freshly prepared juice and amazingly fresh sandwiches, Tom Dixon's should maybe focus more on food outlets than furniture! It is really great food and with great service all in the hustle and bustle of Harrods.

Not what you would expect in Harrods .after nearly an hours wait for a sandwich that was chewy,Welsh rarebit and a chicken arriabatta which was only just warm, and they then made my 10 year old wait another 20 mins for a waffle that was inedible,at least they knocked 25% off.How disappointing &i; am going to complain to Harrods aswell

Slightly chaotic service and very mediocre food is the order of the day here. After visiting Harrod's glorious food halls and seeing the incredible quality of everything on offer this very ordinary outlet would be much better suited to an ordinary city centre shopping mall rather than a world class store where clients expect nothing but the best. Intrinsically there is nothing wrong with it but it just doesn't make the grade and fell far below my expectations. Sorry.

Perfectly OK glass of wine (house Rioja) and double espresso, but nothing special. Table was dirty and cleaned in front of me, once I'd sat down. Took 5 min for anyone to take my order and a further 11 min before the aforementioned wine and coffee arrived - the time between the texts to my partner to tell her I'd ordered, was she coming to join me, her reply to say she'd meet me downstairs, and my follow up to say my drinks had just arrived and I'd guzzle them down asap!

What a joke this was. We were shopping at Harrods and wanted to have some light snack in the jazz caffe. Sadly, itwas closed. Instead we sat at this pathetic excuse for a caffe. I ordered a sandwich with chicken and avocado. It came without the avocado. We mentioned it to the waiter. He apologise and then brought me slices of avocado n a little dish. I was stunned! Are you joking? - we asked - Do you expect us to assemble our own sandwich and then pay you 14£? He was shocked. And kept repeating that he doesn't understand. Eventually when he grasped the concept of serving the sandwich not as a DIY, he took it away and brought it assembled. I tried to eat it but, sadly the chicken was cooked yesterday at best, and was rubbery and cold. The salad was just a finely chopped lettuce, but was so old, it was pickled in the dressing. There was no sauce or seasoning of any kind either, and the whole thing was dry and absolutely tasteless. We said we din't want it d returned it. Then came the "manager" and asked what had happened, almost as he was a detective. Obviously hadn't been thought the right manners. Finally he pronounced that we would not be charged for the sandwich, then again and again, as if he was doing us some favour. What a parody! By this time our lunch was completely spoilt and we left hungry and utterly disappointed. My husband had a welsh rarebit sandwich which was also beyond description. Never going back in this absolute parody of an establishment. What a shame for the name of Tom Dixon, and for Harrods that they allow such appalling standard in their building. I hope this is not a sign of decline for the shop too.

lovely clean and calm environment. Pleasant, helpful staff. Giving extra points for the non chipped teapot, chips are a pet peeve of mine, apologies if it's not the sort of thing that matters to you. We only ordered tea and coffee, as we had partaken of lunch in a local restaurant. However the food looked lovely and I would be happy to return and eat here. Handily located near the technology section which was one of the things we were shopping for.

I always try to locate places where I can stop for a while alone and have something to eat. The restaurant looks very stylish due to full of Tom Dixon's designs so you can even try that famous Tom Dixon wingback chair if you are lucky and it's not occupied. Or you can purchase it as next to the restaurant there is a TD store.

Went to London on a shopping trip and we spent many hours in Harrods. We planned to visit Tom Dixon for lunch and the design of the café was beautifully done. Me and my mum both went for the London pulled pork, with mustard, cawslaw with apple in and a bowl of kettle crisps. It was £15 which might seem expensive but they were huge and the taste of the pulled pork roll was amazing. Me and my mum agreed it was the best roll we have eaten ever. Would fully recommend it.

On our trip to London we took the whole family for cream tea in Harrods. How disappointing - bad service - they didn't give a stuff that had been waiting for 30 minutes to get served. Food very mediocre and not worth the high price tag. Come on Harrods - we expect better of this English institution.

We came across Ukai by accident as we were making our way through Portobello Market and wanted a more substantial and comfortable lunch than that on offer from the market stalls. We perused the menu outside before entering having decided we liked the look of several dishes, so we went for it. Despite the throngs of people and hustle and bustle of the market outside, Ukai was surprisingly quiet, and with only a couple of other diners, we were given a very generously sized table, with comfortable seating. The paucity of other diners was a bit of a concern and prompted a quick look on TripAdvisor before we settled in and ordered anything. The recent reviews did nothing to alleviate the concerns, but decided to stick with it and were really glad we did. The staff were friendly and efficient and were prepared to explain the menu as well providing a warning that one of the dishes selected may come with a slight wait due to the time it takes to prepare. That wasn't a problem; we took that as an indication the dishes were prepared to order and were fresh. Also, we wanted a relaxed lunch and weren't in any hurry, but TBH, there wasn't any noticeable delay in any of the service. For starters, we went with a couple of cocktails, including a very refreshing Kyoto style mojito, and shared steamed edamame, chicken gyoza and generous portions of pork belly bao buns. Mains included the beef short rib and sizzling beef Toban-Yaki, with sides of broccoli and Japanese mushrooms. The food was well presented, fresh as expected, using quality ingredients, with delicious results. We enjoyed everything, so we were glad that we hadn't been dissuaded by the negative reviews. For us this place was a great find and provided a relaxed setting for the lovely lunch we had been looking for. Hopefully other diners will look beyond unfavourable reviews and give Ukai a go. For food this good it certainly deserves to busier than it was on a Saturday afternoon with lots of potential customers passing through the market outside.

After hearing mixed reviews about this place i decided to try this afternoon tea. They have Halal and Gluten free options. Overall ambiance and decor of the place is nice and floral. Staff was attentive and kindly offered free a hot chocolate to the child. However it took then 35 mins to bring the food on the table despite the whole place being quite empty. We had one Gluten free and one regular afternoon tea. Afternoon tea itself was very presentable offering variety of teas and we tried three different teas, the nicest one was Masala Chai. Sandwiches were ok in taste albeit rather bland. Scones were fresh, tasty and light. Unfortunately the desserts were very average in taste and were very basic. They do not do refills which is unusual for an afternoon tea. There is definitively room for improvement.
