Popped in the newly refurbished Bristol pear for lunch on a weekday. What a lovely vibrant, friendly place. Food was excellent, prices were fantastic, they even have a reward system. Sports on the televisions and a game of pool before we left and change from a tenner! Staff were friendly and helpful too.

I like it. Sport on all the telly's and the pints are always clean. On the pricier side of lager but could be worse.

Great atmosphere for the football and staff were lovely but the food was very under par. These were meant to be beef loaded fires I believe - they’ve never seen a piece of beef and they were tasteless

Ben was a great bartender! He made amazing cocktails and was really helpful.

Ben helped us a lot that day. He made such crazy cocktails I loved ‘em. He always has that smile on his face which feels welcoming. He helped us get seated and was really a great host.

The servers are amazing and so are the drinks!! Ben specially is an angel and makes the best fire and passion! I love the place!!

Took my son for the bottomless brunch for his birthday… the food was delicious 😋 ..cocktails were perfect 👌🏼 ..service was amazing 🌟 ..atmosphere was only rated at 3 stars as it was empty, but that was probably due to us going at 12pm… Started to pick up just as we had to leave.. would definitely recommend 🥰

Ordered on the app... pretty empty bar... waited over 10 minutes for a pint and a half... queried with the staff.... olto be met with dreadful customer service... eventually advised it will be delivered to table... waited 10 more mins with the bar now fully empty. No drinks

Great little student pub, the quiz nights are always a blast! the food is great, & the cocktails strong, highly recommend!

The food was really good and the portion sizes really big. We got a good amount of drinks however they were quite watered down and the service was not good at all. The waitress was rude and purposefully ignored us. Would go again if we had a different server.

Great atmosphere niçe staff , food bit priçy

Generally the food was ok, ordered doughballs 👍 karage burger 👍 peri peri chicken (which was very dry and tough) and cauli wings with sweet korean sauce, but it was in the inferno sauce, when we asked the server to change it, it just came back with even more of the same sauce and they were cold

The service from the bar staff in this place is really bad. They are miserable and surly.

Welcoming pub on corner by Selly Oak train station there. Popular student watering hole. Always something on in the week. Enjoyable entertainment including the karaoke and live music. Haven’t tried your food yet but it’s on the list

A great ambient with a nice staff. The food is really good and the price is worth it. The location close to the University and the Selly Oak station makes a great place to enjoy the night in the area.

James has been really attentive - they were under staffed & we booked in for a bottomless but he made sure we were tended to & his cocktails were amazing!

This man should never be served again. He cheated me out of 2nd place in our wing competition. I would like him banned from the venue indefinitely 😤 Wings were undeniably good.. had 52 but got caught out by last orders. We go again. Back stronger

Was completely violated by a staff member (he has glasses, curly hair and is large) along with a taller, skinnier, bearded man. Went in to get some drinks and an hour into our time he was completely rude. Demanded us to leave, we asked to finish our drinks to which he started shouting, disturbing everyone’s atmosphere and hushed us out. Will never be going again, absolutely disgusting.

I really like this place. For us old-uns anytime up to 9 pm ish is fine and then it's gets a bit livelier. Good range if cask less, beer and ciders and the food is fab too. £4.50+ on the drinks but the food is priced very much like other pubs (around £14 for a burger meal).

I went for the Lionesses World Cup Final early in a Sunday morning. I had the full veggie breakfast and copious amounts of tea to watch us get a numpty ref to ruin it all. The food was banging, breakfast delivered to perfection. Compliments to the chef Gareth. Pub was clean, comfortable and welcoming (thanks Laura). Service was on point, but maybe because we were all wanting them to win, staff and punters! Excellent experience, would def0 recommend, apparently they do an all day brunch 🧐🤨🙋🏼‍♂️👍🏼

Interiors are nice, but food portions are very small and almost no drinks are available as a meal deal, even though they are on the meal deal menu. I’ve tried ordering three different drinks and they couldn’t make any of them as a meal deal. I think that’s cheating, they want us to buy full priced drinks.

Popped in after a walk along canal to watch 2nd half of Community shield. Only Doom bar (yuk) on cask so had to resort to an expensive craft ale (£6.25) - was very tasty though. Lots of TV's dotted around so easy to find a table to watch from. Would definitely recommend to sport lovers.

Great place to bob for a few drinks and I especially enjoyed the cocktails here. The service was great, my waitress Courtney explained the drinks that were on offer and recommended some customer favourites.

Great pub, Tim Taylors beer, sport tv, watched both ashes n lionesses. Food, great pizzas n 2 for 1on a Tuesday. Yorkshire lass Becky very helpful, friendly and efficient. Pity we can't stay another night. B n L 👍

Came in for a spot to eat and hang out with friends staff were very friendly Courtney was amazing very polite and welcoming had the meat elite pizza was nice and crisp with the perfect amount on topppings very tasty highly recommended

Nice pub on Bristol Road attracting clientele across a range of groups, class and ethnicity. There was a sizeable amount of people sitting around when I went, even though it was a week day and quite early. There is a pool table at the back of the room, an extension outside for people who will like to sit outdoors and children friendly too. You can also get food, although I didn't check the menu so I can't say what options are available. The drinks were moderately priced and I had an overall good time.

Good tidy pub with plenty of seating. Shows most football / sporting events. Menu of burgers and chicken wings which are of good quality. Whilst catering for University students during term time,it still welcomes all ages.

Nice pub with decent food and table service when you use the app

I had a fantastic time at Bristol Pear with two friends. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with pleasant background music. It wasn't overcrowded, allowing us to relax and enjoy our evening. The staff were friendly and provided excellent recommendations for our food choices. While the food was basic, it was delicious. However, the portion of chips was disappointingly small, leaving us wanting more. The drink prices were quite high, especially considering the cost of non-alcoholic options. On a positive note, the cookie dough dessert was absolutely incredible when shared among the three of us. We also enjoyed playing pool on their well-maintained table. The toilets were clean, which is always appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely visit again.

The food tastes good and is fairly cheap, the app is kind of clunky, and my side of Mac and cheese was about 2 spoonfuls!

Food is 10/10 and the Big Breakfast for £8 is a hangover staple for us! Bottomless brunch here is the best value for money with great food and drink options for a great price. Love the Bristol Pear!

Good quality food at reasonable prices. I was particularly impressed by the range and quality of real ales including Thornbridge Jaipur which I don't often see in many places. Would definitely recommend 👌

quite good bar, not too busy. The food are really good! It’s a little pity that the bar no longer provide all day breakfast. The beer are unique with some fresh fruit smell. And the bar staff can even recommend beer for you. Nice experience

Brilliant pub. Well worth a visit. A good place to watch the world go by.

Lovely selection of drinks and extensive menu. However, the very best thing is that they do my favourite Lillies Cider here. Large, comfortable space, with an outdoor seating area to the front. Staff are friendly and helpful. My only issues are that it is not dog friendly unless you sit outside (this isn't clear online, as the Bristol Pear comes up when you Google dog friendly pubs), and the smoking/vaping area is really grotty.
