3 of us arrived to have lunch at 1.15pm. We were told there was a 20min wait, which we accepted. Ordered drinks and food. 20mins turned into 40mins which then turned into 1hr. We asked how much longer , just plateing up was the answer. Another 5 mins and 1st meal arrived then another 5mins 2nd meal arrived eventually 3rd meal arrived . Chips were so hard (fried and fried again and again) they were inedible. Never again!!

Tired looking pub with a lot of construction going on next door. Free to overnight in the car park in campers/motorhomes, but polite to eat or drink in the pub. Warm welcome and the interior is comfortable and well appointed. Unassuming pub grub left us disappointed and our bill was more than we expected. I have given a star rating based on the warm welcome.

I have been spending the months walking paths, canals & rivers, exploring southern England and inevitably end up in a pub or café, especially in the winter and have got to eat plenty of Sunday roasts. I had a favourite of many months that I have returned to a few times. Having walked from Reading along the K&A I reached The Bridge Inn for a Sunday roast and it took the title of best roast!. The Beef is thick cut farm shop beef, roast potatoes had no hint of reheating in their flavour, perfect green vegetables & cauliflower cheese, and hot horseradish sauce made the win. All well presented, with excellent timing and service. I think the winning formula is the timed 10 minute slots with meals designed to be ready fresh for each customer, a masterstroke! The landlady is an absolute star and the roast was the best value one as well. I'll be back on my future walks in the area

First visit for breakfast as a family. Full breakfasts really lovely quality and good value. However the food took an hour from ordering to get to the table….which is just too long for us. Unfortunately seemed to only have one front of house staff taking all orders, clearing tables, getting drinks which meant that I was initially standing at the bar to be served for some considerable time before being acknowledged as staff busy making coffees. I suggest more front of staff would be of benefit. Unfortunately we are unlikely to return….. which is a shame as very local for us…..

The Bridge Inn at Bishops Cannings is under new management and reopened in March 2024. It is only a short drive from Devizes, so it was a good place to have our supper during a recent visit to Devizes. We very much enjoyed our meal. The vegetarian pizza was very tasty and the chef excluded the peppers as requested. It was suitable to eat with a knife and fork or fingers – we did a mixture! I don’t usually eat sticky toffee pudding, but based on the recent google review by Rachel, I decided to try it. It was delicious, nice and light, and the sweetness was suitably offset by the vanilla ice cream. My partner enjoyed his apple crumble and custard, which also came with ice cream. He said that the pint of Wadsworth 6X slipped down a treat. Our host Diane Warburton gave us a very friendly welcome and chatted to us and her other guests. The only improvement we would have liked was to have had our meal sitting outside in the sunshine overlooking the canal. Perhaps it will be warm enough next time.

A group of 12 boaters turned up at the Bridge Inn (open under new management for less than a week) with no warning and they handled us superbly. Great food accounting for 3 different dietary requirements (gluten free, dairy free/lactose intolerance, sweeteners allergy) with no issues. The sticky toffee pudding was the best of our week of boating when two of our party had it at every opportunity. I teared up with joy eating it. There were some little examples of inexperienced staff but we are a jovial group so all in good humour had no issues with this. An excellent service finding its feet. I hope you do very well in the future.

The food arrived hardly even warm, not hot as it should have been and when I asked where my pie was the waitress said “pie” as they had missed it off the order. I love the place and also the chicken that followed me around whilst I fell in love with a great pub, great food, and a favourable wine cellar. Truth, it's in the middle of bloody nowhere, just 3 miles outside of Devizes heading towards Horton or Coate. Quality food, served professionally in pleasant surroundings in the centre of Salisbury - what's not to like? French cuisine with a slight local twist.

Nice place to go out with or meet up with people. Unfortunately won't be returning due to their high prices £5.10 for a pint of Carling. REALLY???? No disrespect meant but I won't pay that. I'm aware that the owners are now moving onto the Courthouse around the corner. I said in my review of the Courthouse that if your prices is anything to go by, then the chance that I give the Courthouse will be short lived. £5.10 for a pint of Carling is far too much.
