Great little pub really enjoyed ourselves good music and great atmosphere

Disgraceful bouncer was a jobs worth young kids allowed in but we were refused entry cos one of the party had dressy tracksuit bottoms and then referred to us as lads although I’m very clearly female and no apology

Regular Saturday night fayre for a busy local pub. Good atmosphere and selection of drinks, which were reasonably priced.

Excellent old traditional pub. Good music.

The Karaoke dj told us we'd be on in 1.5 hours and 3 hours later still hadn't had a chance - dj clearly has favourites. Good atmosphere otherwise but put a damper on the night

Good place for karaoke and dancing

Stayed overnight in this pub on our way down South. The room was beautiful, newly refurbished. There was a Karoke on and some good singers. We were made very welcome by the staff and regulars. Wouldn't hesitate in booking again. Very central for shops and carpark for overnight parking a few minutes walk away. There was no food available when we stayed. 🥰🥰

Great night on a Sunday night with Karaoke 🎤

Beautiful newly decorated and refurnished rooms. Stayed in the Green " room. Highly decorated and refurnished gone are the old dark furniture and magnolia walls. Replaced with freshly painted white walls and gorgeous new furniture. A green plush velvet bed, complete with spotless bedding and very comfortable mattress. Huge seating area with 2 x matching green velvet armchairs--çoffee table ( matching the 2 x huge white storage units) and a lovely fireplace completes that area. A large smart tv is on the wall this has Netflix ( free ) free Wi-Fi available. Tea / coffee facilities provided ( kettle and a Tassimo coffee machine) Hairdryer/ iron and ironing board also provided. Needed a mirror in bedroom area ( have mentioned this to Chris the landlord and this issue is going to be rectified) The shower room has also been highly finished -- tilled walls / loads of very clean fluffy towels--- shampoo/ conditioner and shower gel provided in dispenser in shower cubicle. The room as mentioned is decorated and furnished to a high standard spotlessly clean well worth the money. Some rooms are still in the process of getting their refurb finished but rest assured these too will be to the same high standard. Next time you're over in Darlington pay Chris or Sue a visit,ask about a room and you will not be disappointed

I know of several people who have been spiked here. Disgusting place not worth your money.

Avoid this pub at all costs bar staff bullying a woman who has learning disabilities and walking disabilities I hope the landlord is reading this cause it'll be in the news papers very soon video evidence getting posted on Facebook and Instagram and all other social media I'd put £100k that this pub will be named and shamed also closed before the end of the year bad choice to bullying people who have learning disabilities

Found this pub on visit after lockdown. Returned frequently since. Great staff and some great characters. Always a pleasure to come back.

Had a few drinks fun pubo was a good night no trouble

Called in for a pint it was cheape and ok clean pub definitely recommend for a pint

A great place for just a really good time. Door staff polite and friendly and any trouble is professionally dealt with. Bar staff are excellent even when it's really busy. DJ's and music are spot on with a good mix of tunes. Enjoy singing along or listening to some of the regulars on the karaoke. Plenty of characters get in. All good fun, not pretentious, just very enjoyable for an afternoon or night out in town without any hassle.

It was a nice place to meet new people it was the first time I have been there they had Karaoke there and play your cards right win and get a free drink

Walked in the pub last night I went to the bar was asked to leave I asked why and the horrible old women with black hair and lots of wrinkles said I was drunk well for her information I hadn’t had 1 drink I asked for a good reason and she said leave don’t come bk seems if your face don’t fit your not welcome horrible staff they want sacking

I was in the bar last Saturday left my t-shirt and hugo boss leather jacket in there . Upon returning couple a days later the barmaid politely give me my t-shirt back and went to get my coat for me which she said was there. But she said it has been moved . I went back later to see the guy who runs the pub . He said I had list it outside with my t-shirt. I asked to see the cctv but he wouldn't let me . The barmaid already told me it was there. She was the honest one. I have seen cctv outside the pub and my jacket never left the pub . The landlord in this place is a thief who took my jacket somewhere . Contacted the relevant people now so people can go in there and know you are being served by a big badly thief who works for brewery running the boot and shoe . Don't worry the cctv of you taking the jacket is coming. Chris that jacket you took I won't stop until you get caught for theft . That's why you where panicking and didn't show me the cctv don't worry you'll be caught soon . As for the blonde barmaid who told me the truth thanks .

I entered the boot and shoe today as my 12 yr old son was desperate for the toilet and the place had always been friendly as I've occasioned there a lot. I have Hypermobility Syndrome and walk with a cane and sat down as I've been having a bad pain day. The blonde lady behind the bar asked a punter to ask me if I was there for food I said no love I'm just waiting for my son whose using the toilet. instead of asking me to purchase a drink or explaining that toilets are for customers only (if that's the case) she had a bad attitude and had a go at me saying it's not alright and not on like. I'm diabetic and had I needed the toilet she could not have refused me but my child could not hold it and he'd done with the toilet by this point but she was aggressive and unprofessional and nasty. So I wasn't happy and was not going to stay there taking that attitude so I took my son and proceeded to leave. she yelled towards me that she hopes the doors hurt me on the way out which being disabled I did not appreciate nevermind wishing harm on my son's mother Infront of him. I turned and I did yell that life's hard enough without unecessary nastiness as a man of very big build was very close and intimidating and shouted oi in my ear and told me to leave as if I was in the wrong for already leaving and not being happy about her aggressive comment. This ruined the bairns day. I had taken him to see Jurassic Park at the cinema and there was no need for threatening or intimidating behaviour from the man that was drinking there nevermind the attitude of the bar lady. I have emailed management and this should be spoken out about. I walk with my walking stick so don't appreciate any staff wishing me harm Infront of my son nevermind men getting so close to me when I'm already near the door. I would have happily purchased a cola as a thank you but her aggressive attitude and lack of professionalism just made me want to leave instead. There is a way to talk to people and you don't have to be aggressive or nasty. There was no queue for the toilet and about six people in maybe maximum as it occurred today the 12th June 2022 at around 15:20-15:38hrs. No one should have to tolerate abuse and it has put my son off using toilets in public in general when he's been through enough in his short life. He's in remission from Cancer and can do without any more negativity or negative experiences thank you. I truly hope she is proud of herself and I've left reviews elsewhere too. I would have asked her name but the man that seemed clearly to be MISOGYNISTIC by silencing me in a threatening manner prevented me from doing so. not very happy at all. had to comfort the bairn on the bus and again at home. Bar staff and manager are very rude. Apparently I'm barred but when I asked why they couldn't give a reason which leads me to believe that it is only for a discriminative reason. Lots of people have told me it will be because of my piercings. I therefore can only assume that it would be so.

If you fancy fun atmosphere and stiff drink for REALLY good price, this pub for you. Your proper local drinking pub in the heart of Darlo. I cannot fault two double rum and coke for 8.60!! More please 😃

Just as expected, loud music 🎶 loud people and cheap drinks. A great time had by all. A bit surprised it closed early on Christmas Eve.

Amazing boozer. Fantastic '70s decor. Phoenix Nights DJ on the karaoke. Cheep drinks. Friendly staff. Barmaid emerging from the gents with a carrier bag containing a pair of "used" trousers. What more could you want on a cold December Tuesday night in Darlington? I'll be back!

Travel up from Wales always call in for a couple, never disappointed with the service or quality of the beer. And always some good entertainment going on.

This is my best pub as I love the landlord and landlady and all the staff. It's like a family pub everyone gets on with each other and we even welcome strangers . They all look after us

Beer tastes off, cheep vodka is used and the floor is sticker than the tables. Great place for making u feel good about ur life and how it all went wrong.

This is another old style pub, great entertainment. One of the most popular venues always great service, from bar staff,even at busy times. Door staff are professional and helpful. Highly recommended.
