The Bognie Arms in Aberdeenshire

I was staying in the hotel and because I fancied a pint ate in the restaurant. The menu isn’t huge but that’s not a bad thing as the food is cooked fresh and is good quality. I had the burger and would have benefited from some relish.

Had a lovely meal out with friends and family for a 40th birthday food was good. Service was a little slow and a few wee mistakes made but there were 10 adults and 5 kids so did not too bad catering for us all. Would definitely return. Nice pub

Mon 25 June went to Bognie Arms without booking. Nice friendly welcome. Evening meal was quickly served in cosy quiet surroundings. The Chicken Balmoral was excellent (chicken breast wrapped in bacon, stuffed with haggis served with whisky cream sauce). My hubby was less adventurous opting for chicken nuggets which were slightly overdone hence the four star rating otherwise it would have been five. Overall good value, nice meal and friendly, efficient service.

Went here for a coffee stop whilst out cycling. Large pot of Tea, proper mugs and great homebakes. Will return when out that way again.

Fuimos a cenar esta noche y pedimos la carne asada. Mientras espera la comida para salir en el comedor, nos dimos cuenta de la pareja en la mesa de al lado también la carne. Hemos oído que la camarera que la carne era muy difícil y que no se podían cortar. Mantuvimos una mente abierta, pero cuando llegamos, nuestra comida, la carne era tan difícil era imposible cortar sin una lucha. Carne tierna y debe ser preparado de manera que se deshace en la boca, si es tan difícil de cortar que sientes que necesitas un cuchillo eléctrico, entonces, no es lo suficientemente bueno para comer. Rechazamos la comida y el chef. Él dijo que él tenía la carne para comer y estaba bien, pero nos explicó lo duro que era - la pareja de la mesa de al lado también transmitió sus agravios. Pedimos pollo gougons para nuestra hija y la camarera le dijeron que tenía que poner en fresco porque los primeros tenía una acción 'a la bandeja - a dios sabe qué quería decir con este. Pagamos por las bebidas y a la izquierda, no comer la comida. La decoración deja mucho que desear y todo el lugar necesita renovada, no una atmósfera acogedora. El menú es limitado y caro. Fuimos directamente a los brazos de Gordon en Huntly, que ofrece un excelente menú - mucho para elegir y la calidad de la comida es de primera clase, es mucho más barato que Bognie.

Nice menu- a fair variety of dishes and reasonably priced. Food well presented and served nice and hot. Our dishes were tasty and staff checked everything was okay during eating. Pleasant staff . Surroundings and furnishings rather basic -could be improved for a better ambience .

Nice little place. Good home made food. Fresh produce and quick service. There hasn't been a decor update in many years but it's cosy and striped back. If you want a quick bite of food on your way home it's the place for you.

I visited here with my adult daughter, 5 year old grandson and my friend who was visiting me from Ayrshire. I had been before and promised my friend a home cooked meal she would enjoy. She was not disappointed. Everything served to us was lovely and we enjoyed 2 courses each. The management and staff were friendly and attentive at all times and added to the pleasure of our evening.
