Really looked forward to a nice fish & Chips after being away. Wife and I went in ...New owners....looked at new menu signage ...no fish on them...looked at staff and they turned away instead of engaging...so we walked out again!

Ordered Fish supper the batter was terrible the fish was black and the portion of chips was all crisp We also had chicken fillets again the batter was poor and chips with that were undercooked and the majority of them were black

Got a delivery from chips on the green tonight, I ordered the special that was on which was chicken fritters stuffed with white pudding, wrapped in bacon & done in breadcrumbs along with chips & a homemade peppercorn sauce. The food was absolutely amazing one of the best chippers I’ve had! Delivery was fast and the staff in the phone are amazing & so helpful! Absolutely beautiful meal I will definitely be back!

We ordered a red pudding supper and two fish suppers. The batter was terrible (crusty, thick and hard) and I suspect the fish suppers had been re-fried. The red pudding had suffered the same fate. No problem with the chips. Back to Hass’s for us.

I love coming here for a fish supper when visiting family in Portlethen. I’ve tried various things off of the menu and have yet to have a bad experience. My favourite of course is the fish and chips. The batter is always crunchy and the fish itself is delicious! There are lots of homemade items on the menu and they even do a homemade pie of the week. I highly recommend this chippy for a good meal. The girls that work there are very polite and the owner is lovely! 5 stars!

Myself and family have been coming here regularly for six years and have never had a bad meal yet. The staff are so friendly, cheery and helpful and the food is consistently good. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. I had the steak pie tonight for the first time…tender pieces of beef and lots of rich gravy, it was amazing! The fish is always fresh, tasty and the batter perfectly cooked…would highly recommend!

Not so good this evening . Disappointing .. lukewarm , dry, crispy clumpy chips and fish pale looked as it had been sitting a while . Unpleasant oil taste. Didnt eat much . Been better on previous visits. Husbands chicken fillets seemed better

Just moved to Portlethen. Never been to Chips on The Green before. Best chips I have tasted in absolutely years. Now I am officially addicted to them and I will end up as big as a house. The burger was great quality too. Lovely friendly staff. You will be seeing me often. Thanks Lynette PS can I just ask what oil you use to cook the chips? Lovely wee place friendly staff ordered burger & chips here was quite tasty to be fair, the chips aren't what I'm used to just tasted slightly different which was expected as ive never been before but the food was really nice. Be back again if I return 👍

Not the best, but not bad. Fish was good, albeit a bit on the greasy/oily side. Chips weren't all that crisp, a bit undercooked.

Unfortunately not a great experience, we ordered a jumbo fish supper (see photo) which was very small I would stay it was closer to a kids portion of fish and a standard portion or chips. The scampi was nice but all the chips were undercooked and tasked powdery. The mushy peas tasted like sour cabbage, not sure if they had gone bad but we couldn’t eat them. Disappointed in the meal unfortunately.

3 haddock suppers and a couple of white puddings, great sized portions and cooked to perfection, delivery was prompt and will definitely use again.

Just ordered 3 suppers,can’t believe the chips it’s like a kids meal,£18.10 ridiculous for what we got,the pies were over cooked,and the meals were cold

Staff were friendly and advised me up front that there would be a 20 minute wait, which wasn't a problem. When I got home found the chips were reheated and hard and the king rib was over cooked and tasted past it's best. I ended up throwing out most of it as it was inedible.

So six months ago I left a review giving it too marks for best fish and chips I had tasted for a while. Tonight agh What can I say. I arrived and placed looked like it was closing but guy said they were open. I ordered fish supper and single fish. Wish I hadn’t. It felt like the fish had been refried and not freshly cooked. It was dry and tasteless. I am not saying don’t shop here as they can give good fish but it wasn’t to be tonight for us. I felt they were closing at the time and this affected what I got. But my last review gave them top marks and I hope they can get back to that standard Disappointed but hey everyone has a bad one.

The chips are okay and the prices are a bit high. Staff are generally friendly but, seem more focused chatting with friends and gossiping.

We usually order online for delivery. Never had a problem or delay, and the food quality has always been first class. There is a delivery charge of £4, but that's acceptable for me at least. Recommended.

Always good fish chips staff very good

Awful. Save your money and go somewhere else. Soggy and stale. Doesn't even taste fresh. Gave it 3 chances and each chance was equally as bad. We phoned them to complain over the last outing but nobody took us on. We now drive to another chipper, despite this being local.

We ordered two fish suppers tonight. It was the best fish supper we’ve had in a very long time. Chips excellent fish well cooked and not overdone . We’ll be back for sure

Not the cheapest, but large portions and good fresh food mean that it's probably the best chippie around here. Pre-ordering recommended.

Went to a lot of bother to travel to the chippy and although their website states it was open it wasn't so wasted a 12 mile journey for nothing.

Went to chips on the green for my tea tonight and placed quite a big order, everything was cooked perfectly and everyone enjoyed their meal. The smoked haddock & mozzarella fish cakes and the homemade pea purée are amazing! The staff are all polite and our order was ready quickly, we’ve always had great food when ordering from here! Will definitely be back! Good work guys :)

Just had fish supper and white pudding supper, 30/7/2021, fish and chips as usual were 1st class, the pudding was a tad different from what we had before, still tasty but rather spicy, its not a negative👍

Got a pie and chips but a bit like chewing dried paper and the chips are a so thin two many small pieces of scraps not good won't go again

Disgusting. Batter was all soggy. Onion rings were just a mass of batter. Not seasoned properly. Chips tasted old and stale. The fish fell apart from the batter and it was just an overall bland, disappointing experience. I now travel to get a chippy from somewhere else. This experience was sufficiently bad enough that I will never order from there again.

Food was alright, large chips was not large at all. Would think with Mac Donald’s, dominos and ashvale round the corner it would be a bit more competitive and value for money. Nothing to shout about so won’t be back.

Rang in , the lady on the phone was very helpful, even though there was a problem with a buzzing feedback on my phone 📱. We managed to get my food ordered and delivery arranged 😀 It was a bit of a wait but I didn't mind. Anyhow food turned up earlier than said , great 👍 a plus ➕ for me but unfortunately my meal was cold 🥶 . I did read your reviews before I ordered, sorry 😞 I can't relate to them 😌

I celebrated my birthday today with a lovely haddock supper. All was really fresh and tasty. The quality of the fish and chips was excellent and good value for price paid. Thank you.

Good local chippy. Friendly, fast service and ability to order online and collect is great. Also does fritters which is a rarity outside of Central Belt so brilliant!

Phoned in an order for 2 fish and chips to Chips on the Green and arranged a collection time. My order was newly cooked for my collection and just ready to box so that it was not sitting sweating in a box waiting for my arrival. After a 3 or 4 minute journey home, there was very little grease in the box. The batter was lovely and crispy and the chips were fluffy in the middle. The staff were friendly and the product excellent. Well done all.

Came in tonight Sat 19th for a fish supper and white pudding and was not dissapointed. Crispy batter and fish was cooked perfectly in the middle, will definitely be back

Just binned most of our pudding and pie supper which we purchased about half an hour ago. Very disappointed have had several carry outs over the past few months and they have been lovely Tonight the chips were stone cold and the puddings and pie overcooked looked like they had been reheated Was tempted to drive back from Cove and bring it back but couldn’t be bothered Certainly won’t be back what a waste of money

Saturday night and we had the best scampi and onion rings ever(and the chips were great too). The staff were lovely and everyone so respectful of the current restrictions. Only the 2nd carry out we’ve had since lockdown began but great food and so reassuring.

Best fish and chips I've had in ages.

I deleted my facebook review by mistake. So this has reminded me to do it again! My husband loves this chip shop. He calls and collects from cove. Really is the best one in aberdeen But you know what. I actually like this place better than the famous chip shop a few miles away... The fish batter here is So deliciously crispy. Fish is fresh chips are delicious so is the curry sauce! Good hearty portions Good pricing Hard working friendly owners. Staff spot on. Spotless Great business you have.

Excellent. Myself and the kids love this place. Very clean premises, well presented staff that are very friendly and courteous. Everything is cook fresh. The fish is superb with nice clean golden brown and crispy batter. Wouldn't use anywhere else in Portlethen.

Hands down the best chip shop chips I have ever had in my life. Also got to sample the local delicacy mock chop! Food was equaled by the fantastic service. Whenever I'm in Aberdeen, it will be the only place I get my chips!

Update: Was in here on Friday 1st March, order given and paid for. Waited for over half an hour only to find out that our order hadn't been put through! Very disappointed as we were both starving. Will still go again as they serve very good chicken fillets. Brilliant chicken fillet supper. Haddock very tasty too.

The best chipper I've ever been to. Tonight after a day out and about, myself and the wife could not face cooking. A trip to Chips on The Green was called for, and it did not disappoint. My wife had a chicken burger supper and her eyes lit up at the size of that chicken. I opted for the red pudding supper. I've never had a red pudding before, and genuinely didn't know what to expect. Turns out it's a sausage. Who knew? Absolutely brilliant dinner. Delicious food, no cooking and no dishes. What else could you ask for. Now if you excuse me, I'm meant to be on a diet. I'm off to the gym to work this off.

I have to say, I had eaten at the previous owners twice and was terrible. Now though, first class fish and chips. All cooked fresh in good oil. Crispy batter, soft fish, perfect chips and for a good price. A+

Would have loved to have given a great review but unfortunately the chips are not great. The staff are lovely and the place is very clean but the chips have a strange taste and smell and the portion is always half full of over cooked scraps. I’m not sure if the strange taste is the type of oil they use or if the oil isn’t changed frequently enough but it’s not nice. It’s maybe even bits of batter/chip scraps that are left in the fryer?? Such a pity.
