Crown Chippy in Aberdeenshire

I travel from Birmingham every week and we both think the food is absolutely incredible. Fresh and hot fish. Cannot recommend this chippy enough. And the price, well I would definitely pay double what I paid for our food. Absolutely amazing, we will be returning. The lady who serves us was lovely and it really makes a difference.

Huge fish and plenty of chips but would have preferred a slightly smaller portion at a cheaper price as I couldn't eat it all. One star knocked off because fish chips and peas at over £12 is too much really.

Wife said fish tasted like theirs chemicals in it and the battery was like a brick.silly laddy lost our order so after a 30 minute wait it was extremely disappointing.

Walked in, looked at hugely overpriced menu and walked out again! £6 for a pie??? £9 single haddock? Went to chip shop down in Low St and got a pie for £3.50! Was so looking forward to The Crown as used to be ww favourite years ago.

Staff very friendly and cheerful excellent prices and excellent food and plenty of it would definitely recommend the Crown chippy service is excellent

What used to be a good chipper before has now gone to the dogs, this was the 2nd time we'd gone since it changed hands, the 1st time just after it changed hands, the fish was way past its best in freshness, it stank, on this most recent occassion everything was so overcooked it was not recognisable, cardboard textured fish, a hollow overcooked pathetic portion of chips and the whole lot stank of oil that needed changing weeks before, hardly the quality you expect for the price they ask for it.

Usually get this chippy alot but the price has went up to £9 for a fish supper and the portion wasn't as big. Rockfish whitehills is 7.20 a fish supper so will be going there from now on unfortunately. 2 fish supper and a portion of curry sauce was £20.

Always had good carryouts from here.

The guy named Tylir was extremely nice to me when i asked for a deep fried mars bar, he politely told me that they didn't have any and escorted me to the menu and helped me order something else

Possibly the best fish supper I have had. Fish cooked to perfection. Batter beautifully crisp and chips fresh and grease-free. Just as well this place isn't on my doorstep otherwise I'd be a good few pounds heavier. Thoroughly recommend if you are in the area.

Excellent fish and chips. Being a Lancastrian, it would have been 5 stars down there too, and that's saying something 👍

We called off after having a day out exploring the coast, and called off for a chipper supper, it was very busy, and the shop was near closing, but I was very disappointed with my fish. The batter was gooey inside, so unfortunately most of it went in the bin. My daughters chicken fillets were fine, but I doubt we would go back again.

Great chippy. My supper was delicious, freshly cooked and served by friendly efficient staff. Well worth a visit.

We went to the Crown Chippy for fish supper and was delighted with the fresh cooked haddock and crispy batter, my wife had the small and I had the large and would give it 10/10 for taste and value. Will defiantly go back when I am in the area

Breaded fish were a treat, nice and moist in the inside and crispy on the outside just as they should be and nice and fresh. Chips were superb and served by friendly staff

Tried here for the 1st time since its on my doorstep and always seems very busy. When I arrived it was packed!! Barely move placed my order customer service is seriously lacking ( sorry but i noticed if they know you then you get big cheery hello a smile and abit of chit chat aswell as a cheery goodbye.... if they dont you get nothing very disappointed with that) food took ages!! 7 people got theres before me 4 of which arrived after me.... however the food was fantastic i couldnt fault it very tasty and chips were good not too oily! Decent prize and decent portions. Will Definitely be back hopefully may get a hello and smile next time

Been here numerous times before as I stay close by. This time we had chicken fillets and a macaroni pie. Everything was tasty, toasting hot, cooked to perfection with a nice crispy batter on the chicken fillets and the chips were so good. Everything is cooked to order but it’s worth the wait. Phone order’s are accepted. Large menu to choose from: see attached photo. Staff very friendly and keep the shop spotless clean.

Family members drove here for a take away. Friendly, efficient staff, producing a good service. Our meal back home was most enjoyable.

They do an excellent glutton free fish supper with out having to pre order..

Had a chicken fillet supper with a good portion of crispy tasty chicken fillets, the chips were good too but it’s the smallest portion of chips I’ve ever had with a chip shop supper.

It may have been a bad day but when I was there the batter was very thick and flavourless the chicken on the chicken fillets were incredibly thin as well
