The Boathouse Grill and Bar in Fermanagh

Called in for quick buffet lunch, room was full but order for food and drinks taken quickly and efficiently. The buffet served by very pleasant staff was perhaps more quantity than quality but that lovely lady serving the gravy needs to hold back a bit! left the plate swimming and rather spoiled the otherwise acceptable meal.

Stayed here with my husband for 1 night get away ..... views were stunning.... room was lovely ..... bed was OK but the pillows was hard ... never got a good night sleep ... booked into the restaurant for dinner food was disgusting you would get better quailty else where defo do not eat here better restaurants in Enniskillen cause all your goin to pay for is the view .... the food is bland & tasteless .... wee got starters the tomato soup was fowl as sure asdas basic soup woulda tasted better !!!. He got chicken gougons these things tasted like patty in your mouth frozen cheap crap ..... 14.50 for a sirloin steak burger it tasted like it was low grade with high price tasted off funny taste to the meat .. ex 1.50 for bacon + cheese the bacon was low grade too a slice off fat .....I could buy a burger for couple off quid it would be better quality.... rip off prices for low grade rubbish !!!!!....I ordered 10 once steak ... ahhh that's what I expected for 26 pd instead I got a tough flat iron price off meat tasted like frying steak it didn't come with pepper sauce .... I had to pay an ex 2 pd for sauce that should come complimentary food is absolut low grade crap ...the hotel is charging people top prices for low end crap food ....cocktails aren't worth money either my 1 I got tasted like non alcoholic one ... couldn't taste 1 trace off alcohol barr overpowering grapefruit juice .....what I don't understand these reviews are stating back over 3 years ago about the food in this hotel why has the hotel not changed it why do they continue to serve people crap !!!! Mean come on guys yous have the views a lovely hotel the health spa why let it down with something so simple like crappy food & service !!!! Sort it out killyhevlin !!!!

Woman on phone was incredibly rude when I rang to enquire about a table outside. Appeared to have no time or desire to answer my questions. Would expect better from someone working in hospitality and hope no one else has to experience this uninviting attitude.

Arrived early for a booked meal and waited thirty minutes in the foyer for a coffee. Stood in a lengthy queue to be seated and another thirty minutes for our order to be taken but only after speaking to the restaurant manager. Food was disappointing and lukewarm. The only plus was the gentleman taking contact details and temperature at the entrance,

The most terrible experience ever. The evening food was awful. The batter on the chicken goujons main and on the scampi starter was obviously lying for some time. It we terribly chewy. When I complained, it was replaced with an equally chewy portion of chicken goujons. The breakfast was disgusting. Cold and also chewy. Eggs were like rubber. Mushrooms were stale. Scrambled egg was simply gross!. They ran out of things pretty quickly and offered to bring it to the table. Needless to say, It never arrived. The hotel room was a bad enough experience (extremely hot and hard beds/pillows) and even after complaining, they never bothered to rectify the situation or write back when I was advised by them in the first place to write in to the manager. Unreal. !!Do NOT stay in This hotel or eat in this restaurant.

There is an extensive grill menu at reason able prices. There is a lunch menu also around midday. the seating is comfortable. There is a pianist in the evening

My partner and I were staying in one of the lodges at the hotel so we arranged to eat here.Partner had the signature killy klassic duck dish and I had the chicken goujons. Partner said his duck was the nicest meal he's had in ages. The goujons were fine...ive had nicer elsewhere but they were ok.There was a girl in the room playing piano which I thought was nice. We also had desserts...raspberry and white choc roulade and a banana sundae (a deconstructed banoffee style thing in a tall glass) Both were nice enough but I thought the sundae lacked a punch of sweetness. More cream and banana than anything else.But on the whole, all very nice

Food was great but poor service.Wife asked for glass of water and got a pint glass of water.During meal not once did anyone approach table and ask if meal was ok or if we wanted another drink.We where there a few weeks ago and it was the same,There is a lot of very young staff walking around but not actually doing anything.

We called in for a light lunch lunch last Sunday. We just wanted toasted sandwiches and were expected to be told it was carvery only, however the staff were more than happy to serve us sandwiches - nothing was a problem to them, and they even moved us to a window seat with view of the lake even though we were not there for a full meal. The sandwich menu was very basic but it suited our needs and the waiters were so attentive throughout our lunch. The setting is lovely and the atmosphere relaxed,

Wow what a great dining experience. Good service and service detail. food was fantastic.Varied menu,something for everyone. Local produce used which was great to see. Nothing was a bother to the staff,. And the view was to die for.

I ordered "Chicken Tikka Masala Balti Curry" It was neither a Tikka Masala nor a Curry!!it was Chicken pieces in a watery bland liquid which was almost tasteless and at £15.75 a total rip off Avoid!! There are much better places to eat in Enniskillen

Lunch in the Grill and Bar at Killyhevlin is a treat not to be missed. They have a lovely carvery lunch served daily and put simply it's great, wholesome, tasty food served in gorgeous surroundings with beautiful views over upper Lough Erne. East outside in the summer to soak up the unique vista. Of course they do morning coffee, afternoon tea and evening meals as well!

Tasty, hot and well presented , just the way i like it. I had salmon served with mash and a lovely creamy sauce. Delicious.

When me and my loving wife Valerie, headed out for some fine dining as we thought. When first we entered the Lakeside Bar and grill we thought "gosh, this is jolly good!". However, as Carol a lady we can only describe as boisterous, aggressive and downright rude approached we quickly changed our tune. Now, to shorten the story our service was fantastic apart from the downright ogre that was Carol. Cian Boylan and Ultan Rafferty where a joy to be served by and I will never darken the door of the Lakeside grill again for food. My steak was undercooked despite the fact I asked for it near raw, my veg were raw again and this was not coated in raw Brussel sprouts as requested. Regards Dang Li Balls

Very relaxing and quiet restaurant, food and service very good. Vita was exceptionally attentive. Really nice to have window seat with the beautiful lake views and taking photos of the changing colours of sky at sunset.

The menu was lovely, with a great choice. I had the steak sandwich and my husband had the burger. I asked for no sauce or dressing, but there was a dressing all over my plate which flavoured everything else on the plate. But the food was very bland and a bit tasteless. very disappointing.

Had chicken caeser salad tasty filling there was a piano being played while my friend and I were eating it was nice but not loud as we could chat and hear each other at the same time I felt relaxed staff good here, had a drink of shandy just to chill out. Enjoyable experience

After spending a lovely afternoon in Enniskillen we decided to stop here for our evening meal. Big mistake. Hotel prices but food less than average. Turkey and ham dinner was served with processed peas and carrots - no fresh vegetables- stuffing tasteless- so disappointing. My husbands meal of steak sandwich was equally disappointing and bland. Yes the view from the hotel was lovely- it's just a pity the food wasn't. Won't be calling back .

Strange sort of restaurant - hotel prices, but not hotel quality food.

Had lunch with my wife as a stop en-route to Mayo. BIG MISTAKE! Will drive on past in future and you should too. Living on past glories which is a shame. Menu is boring and food quality worse. Soup tasted like cuppa-soup. Expensive for the rubbish that was served too. I hate giving poor reviews but I need to warn others not to waste their time going here. So much potential - real pity. Ok if you’re 80 and want a stodgy carvery I guess.

We had been looking forward to this meal but we were left extremely disappointed.

Recommended this for a bar meal by our B and B host. Big modern hotel, and car park packed, they were hosting a wedding. Busy in the bar, but we were found a table, overlooking the grounds and the lake. I had the 'special' for the day, at £15.50 a bit more than i really wanted to pay, but as it was lamb shank, had to have it!! And it was huge and excellent!! A bit odd though, because there was a choice of mash, chips or champ, or salad, and i chose chips, which came in a separate bowl. The lamb shank though was sitting on a bed of mash, surrounded by peas and carrots, so why i needed chips I don't know!!! Couldn't eat it all! It seemed better value than my friend's choice of sausage ad mash which cost £16.25 if i remember! And no other veg. So i definitely made the right choice. Spent time outside watching the boats on the lake after, very pleasant surroundings.

We had dinner with our local hosts in the way of a thank you for a wonderful visit. Drinks prior to dinner on the porch overlooking the loch were a pleasant start, our hosts arriving by boat on the loch. The menu offered a good selection of dishes, including a kids menu, but the food, for which we had high expectations, was good, but not great. Service was prompt throughout the meal and the prices were moderate to slightly expensive.

we had a simple meal that was are choice they had a good choice on the menu but I just ordered steak and chips with mushrooms and that was what i got followed by cheese cake which was cooked brilliantly and the cheese cake was fantastic My wife had pasta followed by the cheese cake with coffee and tea then we were enjoying the atmosphere with the piano player and the sunset so we stayed for a few drinks very enjoyable night I can still remember the taste of that steak

We enjoyed this location a couple of times during our visit and both times we were not disappointed. The service was pleasant and prompt and the food delicious and more than ample serving size. We will look forward to another meal on our next visit to Lisbellaw.

My wife and I recently called at the hotel for lunch. Great views and nice surroundings, however, we were astonished when our Caesar salad's arrived. The dressing was more like a salad cream and the salad contained onions and the type of lettuce was unknown. What happended to romaine lettuce, mayonnaise, parmesan etc. Sometininh went badly worng. Oh bye the way it was not cheap either. The service was not great.

Ate in the lakeside bar and grill last night (27th march) staff were friendly and attentitive. Piano player in the background and the views of the Lough are stunning even at night. Cocktails a bit pricing but good. Food however was wonderful my husband enjoyed the chicken Maryland and I myself had the chicken curry. Could not fault it at all portion sizes are plentiful and we both walked out feeling full and satisfied.

Very good setting overlooking the Lough with a great choice of food using local produce . Prices very good value, staff very friendly and helpful, try to avoid peak times as it becomes very busy. everything from tea and scones to full meals.

Had lunch upon arrival for a two night stay. Food good and staff attentive. Sandwiches excellent and vegetarians catered for.

We called in today Monday for the carvery lunch .....it's a lovely place but that's where it ends unfortunately ......the carvery consisted of roast beef ,roast pork, chicken breast no turkey no stuffing ........one thin slice of very dry beef !......a tiny roast potatoe a very small spoon of carrots and cabbage and two of the smallest spoons of potatoes I've ever seen we are not hard too feed but the portion was pathetic it was also very bland at £10.95 the worst value ever ........the girl that served us with curly strawberry blonde hair was unfriendly and sharp with my husband ......the table was unclean and the manager with the red hair swiftly removed our plates but didn't ask us if every thing was ok .......desert was apple tart we can have that any day at home .......not impressed won't be back !

I went here with my parents, husband and son for a family meal this evening. The waiting staff were unpleasant. Out of the 3/4 people waiting our table, not one of them smiled or exchanged any pleasantries. They forgot to bring out 2 of 4 sides and when reminded still only brought one. They didn't of course think to apologise for this. I think the hotel would be well advised to put some effort into staff training. The children's pasta sauce was certainly not home made. The sauce which came with the chicken Maryland just tasted of salt. Then when I went to pay I was kept waiting for 5 minutes as they had messed up the order at the till. Also general cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The glass on the pillars in the dining area was filthy as were the radiators in the corridors. The only good things about the place were the view and pianist (who was excellent). Save your money and go to the Lough Erne resort. Much better experience and food and doesn't cost any more than here.

Fuimos a la parrilla con mi marido esta noche para una comida para nuestro aniversario. Se nos acercaron con suficiente rapidez por un miembro del personal con menús y elegir un asiento dijo (elegimos una mesa con una vista impresionante del lago) pero después de eso nos quedamos completamente ignorado por al menos 20 minutos. Traté de coger el ojo de varios camareros ya que paseaban pasado pero no sirvió para nada. No eran exactamente o lleno, nos parecía que era invisible para ellos. Finalmente mi marido sentimos que este era nuestra noche especial y fastidiando quería dejar, pero fui en busca de un camarero y encontramos tres alrededor charlando durante la factura. El camarero pidió disculpas por la espera y abiertamente admitió que había sido capturado contar chismes. Ella era muy agradable, y nos felicitó por nuestro aniversario.

Visited The Lakeside Bar and Grill yesterday evening. Quiet meal for myself and my husband...just fabulous. Great food, great service and the most amazing views from our table across the Lough Erne. Well worth the visit.

La hora de comer no hay nada mejor que un almuerzo de carne o algo más ligero de las ventanas o en un buen día, sentado en el patio con vistas a la fabulosa Lough Erne en Killyhevlin. Es uno de nuestros lugares favoritos para una comida relajante y así como excelente comida nos garantizan siempre una cálida bienvenida y un buen servicio del personal del restaurante y del bar.

We popped in for a quite bite just after lunch service

Durante su estancia en el hotel decidimos descansar, relajarse y tomar una copa mientras leo el periódico y las chicas de color y mi esposa. Un entorno precioso, unas vistas fantásticas y un personal muy profesional. Nunca comimos aquí como el desayuno y la cena que tomamos en el restaurante principal del hotel. El menú es excelente y en las noches de fin de semana están ocupados y normalmente hay un pianista magnífico jugando. Todas las sillas y sofás son tan cómoda es un gran lugar para saborear! !

Estuvimos esta semana en la ser y estar 2 noches y 1 Bases para la cena. Normalmente nos comimos en el Kove en ambas noches, pero esta vez decidimos probar el Boathouse y no nos decepcionó. Ambos tuvimos el pollo al curry, que era muy sabroso. . La mía era un enfriador. Poco de lo que normalmente me gusta, pero esto no le restó desde el disfrute de una buena calidad de curry. Así que en general es un buen cambio de rutina para nosotros. También disfrutamos de la pianista que (a) cuidado baje el volumen (BE) música que podríamos relacionar! ! . El personal amable y atento.

Aunque no tienen ninguna comida en el Boathouse cuando nos alojamos en el hotel, sin embargo, tuvimos algunos refrescos. El sábado por la noche había música en vivo que tjhere era excelente. Bar encantador para sentarse y relajarse después de un ajetreado día de compras con mi esposa

Excelente comida y servicio. El entorno es precioso y muy cómodo. El personal trabajó muy duro para hacer de esto una experiencia agradable.

Must say we only used the bar facilities and did not eat in it but if their Restaurant ois anything to go by there will be no problems. Very nicely laid out and on Friday evening a girl lays a piano (superbly) On the Saturday night a girl sang a great variety of music and songs

This grill bar is located inside the Killyhelvin Hotel - it's a popular spot so can be busy in the evenings. We found the menu to be a bit "old fashioned" - but not in a bad way. They seem to know what suits their clients - and what they do, they do well. Service was prompt and efficient while the food was good with generous portions. Location is just stunning - reserve a table beside the window for the most perfect view! Simple things like that little bit of shortbread on the side with your tea/coffee make all the difference! The recently renovated restaurant is air-conditioned which is great on a warm summer evening.

Well, we will not return to the Boathouse Grill. It was packed with people, but as people left, no one took the time to clean up the floor or chairs. We were escorted to 3 different tables and finally I wiped off my chair with a napkin. The food was mediocre, even though the price was high. The staff slow, and my water glass was dirty. We I showed it to the waitress, she didn't say a word. Took it and returned set it. We had a small table with a sticky unfilled salt shaker too!!!!! SO much for "high class" dining as we were urged to experience. GO to the Grill at Lough Erne Resort. Same price, by far better staff and seating, and the food is amazing!!!!!!

The Boathouse Grill Bar is one of our favourite spots for lunch and the great new look following recent renovations has ensured that the atmosphere in the grill bar perfectly compliments the amazing views over Lough Erne and the consistently great food. Whether we are in the mood for a full carvery lunch or a quick coffee and scone the Grill Bar is always on top of our go-to list.

Stayed at the hotel and whilst there we ate breakfast in the Boathouse Grill. Breakfast was extensive, tasteful and local and was served professionally and efficiently by the staff on duty.We were absorbed in the view from the window over the lake. It was amazing and very relaxing and the perfect way to start off the day. We noticed how the staff were very personable in their service style and we'll trained.I look forward to visiting the Boathouse Grill in the future for breakfast as well as maybe lunch and dinner.

Recently visited with relatives from Enniskillen. On arrival we were shown to a table near the windows overlooking the lake. Decided to have the lunchtime carvery with a huge rib of beef providing the main course, decked with creamy mash, swede, cauliflower cheese with Lyonnais potatoes, covered in a beefy gravy. The staff were superb assisting with my elderly mother in law. For just under £10 a head, this was excellent food, great surroundings, and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

We hadden een bruchetta met geitenkaas vooraf die erg lekker was. Als hoofdgerecht een Chinese chicken curry deze was OK, my husband had toast with grilled meet which was very nice. Because it was too much we didn't take any dessert. The view over the lake was beautifull.

We ate in kove restaurant (separate review) one evening during our stay at killyhevlin and decided to eat in the adjoining boathouse grill on another evening. It was lovely and relaxed with our window table overlooking the gardens, jetty and lake. Kids menu same as kove - excellent choice. Kids really enjoyed their meals (roast dinner was beautiful - roast lamb cooked to perfection.) I chose chicken Maryland which was very tasty - hubby enjoyed steak. The staff all are lovely, friendly and welcoming. Desserts - kids loved banana split and coke float! Wow! Coke float went down a treat. Hubby and I decided to have pavlova to share - we were comfortably full after tasty dinner but thought to have a sweet treat to finish our meal along with coffee. The pavlova looked lovely - beautifully presented.. But it must've been plated a while before ordering as the chocolate drizzle which decorates the plate was totally stuck to the plate.. And the cream on the pavlova was not as fresh as the side offering of fresh cream.. After a fabulous few days pampering at the hotel.. Wonderful breakfasts, dinner in the kove.. We were a little bit disappointed in the dessert. However the coffee was served with a lovely piece of shortbread ! Lovely idea.

I ate here with the family for the first time last week. It has a beautifully friendly feel to it with well trained and attentive staff. The food was excellent, the ambience perfect and the view is breathtaking. The steaks were cooked to perfection. I had loin of pork and it was extremely tasty. We've lived in Enniskillen for three years now and have never eaten here - we are wondering why not as we think it's the best we've experienced here so far.
