The Boat House in Shropshire

Me, my husband and daughter thought it would be nice to take a trip out to Ellesmere lake and feed the ducks (with bird seed). As we were walking past this cafe my husband spotted some ducklings on the lakeside opposite this cafe, he pointed them out to my daughter who then excitably said “Auww they’re so cute!” A lady (probably in her 60’s) was walking past us and back into the cafe, she abruptly shouted to my daughter “don’t shout you will frighten them off!!” this lady’s voice was just as loud as my daughters so what was the point in butting in the way she did and telling a child off in for excitably reacting to ducklings!! My daughter didn’t even run over to the ducklings she just excitably commented!It took me a few seconds before I realised what had actually happened!! By this time she was in the cafe and the door was locked!! Very rude woman!! Should not be in hospitality!!

I know it was half price with the eat out scheme but I thought the vegetarian breakfast was unexceptional and over priced. The last time we ate here it was lovely, freshly cooked sauteed potatoes and a spinach/tomato/peppers concoction. This time it was no better than Morrisons. Frozen hash brown and a barely grilled tomato half. Clearly aimed at the mass market. I would be very disappointed to pay £9 for this.

Visited the boathouse for a cheeky pint while out for a walk. Covid precautions made the use of PPE and one way system necessary which was my first experience of the new world. Friendly helpful staff, good beer and good chips. Excellent view, prices ok

I have no idea how low the expectations could be of the people who have reviewed this place! I can only imagine that the pleasant surroundings were sufficient to inspire their generosity.As per the picture, I ordered Macaroni Cheese- with, I supposed, realistic expectations. It’s pretty difficult for even a limited “home-cook” to mess up something SO simple.What I received was a paper cup of overcooked pasta with a watery sauce, evocative of the worst imaginable ready meal. This is not due to COVID, but total incompetence and daylight robbery. Beware. This place is truly a joke!

Booked for Sunday Lunch and although quiet , the senior members of staff did their best to make everything a drama, the other younger staff were very good , friendly and professional. On being shown our table, which wasn't cleaned from the last customer, the menu and food were very good , if not a bit expensive for what it was, big problem is people coming through the restaurant area to use the cafe next door, normally it wouldn't be a great issue but having a black Labrador take a fancy to my dinner isn't really what I expected,I suspect that it was only the fact that the food was served on cold plates that put him offAlso there was a constant game of musical chairs, people being moved after being seated for some time, surely there must be some form of plan in place, I was too scared to go to the loo in case my wife and been moved and I had nowhere to sitOverall,bit expensive £50 for two, cold plates and poor organisation, nice food and staff , owners need to chill a little, god only knows what its like when its packed\

I visited Sunday for a roast dinner with my partner although the restaurant was very busy and our waitress was rushed off her feet we were given excellent service. The manager gave us a table and waitress may be a few minutes before she reached our table however she was straight away over and welcomed us. She ensured all of our needs were seen to and she even offered us extra meat. We had the brisket and the pork belly and were both perfect. Overall we had a very pleasant experience and would visit here again.

The food was very poor today....cold meat, no vegetables and lacking in flavour. It was very busy and NOT enough staff to ensure good service. No dessert for diabetics and only ice cream was boring vanilla. Really spoiled what had started with a great visit to the Heron Watch.

I hosted my special birthday lunch for my family at the Boathouse last Saturday. From my first meeting with Emily & James several months ago, their communication has been excellent. All my emails & questions were dealt with usually within hours. On the actual day we were all welcomed warmly & the attention to detail was spot on. The food & service were both excellent & all requests dealt with both professionally & in a friendly manner. The birthday cake that they made for me was stunning & can be viewed on their FB page. I’m so pleased that I chose this local restaurant for my special occasion & would highly recommend it to anyone, not just for special occasions but for great coffee & delicious food when you’re in the Ellesmere area.

We were holidaying close by and seen the Boathouse leaflet in our lodge and given we were with 2 small children who love to feed the ducks we made a lunchtime visit. It was Feb and cold but was even colder in the restaurant so much so we left our coats on. We were told by a rather miserable looking waitress that the kitchen closed in 20 mins so we'd have to order straight away. Fair enough, we ordered our meals but the waitress was coldly ticked off by a lady who i assume is the owner for not checking that our food was still available at the kitchen. Our well behaved 2 year old was given a cool look for making a loud laugh and calling out to his Mum which made us all feel rather unwelcome and wanting to eat and go so much so that my daughter left most of her lunch to walk him by the Mere. The food was ok, stew contained 2 small pieces of beef, sandwich bread was dry but my daughter-in-law enjoyed her fish and chips. The one saving grace was a young man named James who brought toys and chatted warmly to my Grandson. We didn't get any acknowledgement or thanks for our visit on leaving-all seemed very cold and impersonal. We aren't local so unlikely to return but our 1 visit was unfortunately a bit disappointing as the location is lovely..

We stoped in but Kate and Richard were not in. The cooked breakfast had to go back as it was cold. The replacement came without mushrooms. I was out of sinc with my partner who had a lovely smashed avocado on toast. Shame as we have been lots of times.

I went to the cafe to meet friends and had nice coffee and warm lemon drizzle cake. I didn't realise but the birds outside are friendly and you can buy bird food to feed them with. Some looked a bit fat though!

Lovely surroundings, nice interior, good choice of menu and overall atmosphere. However the breakfast for me was overcooked. I also found the waitresses quite snobby and unfriendly.

The breakfast ingredients are very good quality but you do need to up your game as overall the food was not hot enough.The plates should be piping hot as obviously it helps to keep things hot as you eat.

Went there for Breakfast on New Years Day with the family. Nice location overlooking Ellesmere lake. The menu was comprehensive with something for everyone. All food is cooked to order so it is fresh and hot. Enjoyable start to the New Year

Our first visit to the Boathouse for Sunday lunch, what a fantastic meal, we were even offered extra meat and veg, great atmosphere, lovely setting, staff brilliant. We will definitely be returning. Thank you all

Arrived for lunch after a walk along the canal. Nice lunch choices, chose the beef casserole which was full of flavour and beautiful melting chunks of beef with mash and fluffy dumplings. First class!

Called in to have a coffee on our way home from a day out. Had not been here for many years and what improvements have been made since we were here last. It was a beautiful afternoon and what a lovely tranquil place to enjoy what was a good cup of coffee. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and there was a lovely atmosphere about the place. Will definitely call again when we are in the area.

Food was excellent and staff very attentive and polite. Female owner not so much, very rude. As I was about to leave after a lovely meal, I was holding the door open waiting for my wife and my mother to come out and the female owner stormed over and said very rudely "close the door you are making everyone freezing". Not "sorry but would you mind closing the door". Absolutely no need for her rudeness.

It’s really difficult to get good chowder in the Uk but in my opinion, the chowder available in the Boathouse is second to none, quite superb. In fact it’s a very good menu and couple that with spacious surroundings, wonderful views of the Mere - unbeatable.

Called in at the boat house before with close friends today I called in with my wife today great wine no food but the food was looking great staff are great we would recommend to anyone in the area the restaurant has a small carpark the rest is pay at the meter

Excellent 3 course Christmas lunch . All food was great, good quality & very tasty. Christmas lunches can be very disappointing but not here , very good standard of food Nice staff , great location

Five of us visited with three dogs today for Breakfast - have to say this does get busy even on cold weekdays - and it’s clear to see why. Excellent attentive service from the staff, the coffee is great - and the Boathouse Breakfast was very enjoyable - a great place to spend a morning! Will definitely be back

The boat house, Ellesmere is a restaurant and separate coffee shop sitting along side the mere, make time for a meal or just pop in for a quick snack or drink.

I stayed nearby for three nights and had breakfast each morning at the Boat House. The food and service were consistently of good quality with one waitress being outstanding. The setting by the lake is wonderful, especially in good weather.

Met up with friends at lunchtime. Had the special lunchtime menu which offered quite a variety of choices, I had the vegetarian option which was delicious and my husband enjoyed the salmon.

It's been a while since we visited The Boathouse. This time it was for breakfast with family. Super fresh, lots of choice, attentive service and all in the most wonderful location. Dog friendly and clearly a popular place with walkers, bikers, families etc... Heavenly!

I had a business meeting here so decided to have a breakfast, well the service wasn't the quickest and the food not that great. For the price we paid I was very dissatisfied with what we got. I wont be going back again.

The food was lovely great presentation and tasted awesome had the lamb and my girlfriend had the belly pork which had crispy skin but soft pork, roast potatoes not the best but this a minor niggle. Service was attentive on the whole really good Sunday lunch.

We had booked based on the lunch menu that was posted on their website... I checked when I booked if this was in use and I asked a couple of questions about it.

Visited the cafe with my mum and daughter to have a early lunch. The place was not very clean at all. Very dirty windows with cobwebs all over them and food crumbs along the edges. Then the food come and the children’s food was fish batter chicken Which was really Greece’s and More batter than chicken. The chips were well over cooked for a child to. We had duck liver pate. Not much on the plate at all half a slice of toast and no real taste at all to the pate. We complained to waitress and she was very apologetic And then said to us would you like the Child’s Ice cram that come with the meal that no 1 had let us know about and looking at the menu again It was on there along with a drink for the kids. When we asked the man working the till for the kids mineral water he replied with there’s water over there which is free but was not suitable for a 1 half year old in a think glass plus we had payed for a drink in the price of the kids meal we had to insist in having a bottle of water but he was very rood about it.

Lovely sandwiches and cakes, beautiful scones. Lots of tea!! Staff very good and attentive without being in your face. Happily boxed what we couldn’t eat to take home. Lovely outlook from our table over the mere.

Like previous entries I have been many times to this venue and always had a lovely meal.

I have been visiting the cafe for a few years probably about every 3 months. I was disappointed to find that the cafe and restaurant had been merged so you can no longer just quickly choose a sandwich etc but now have to order as in the restaurant. My coffee was cold but was replaced quickly but my old favourite lemon drizzle cake was now lacking both lemon and drizzle and was dry.

With its fine location overlooking the Mere, this is well worth a visit for its friendly staff, decent food and fair prices.

I have used the “Boathouse” over the years and enjoyed good food, fantastic views and friendly staff.

Lovely, pleasant surroundings and good service. We had fish and chips from the menu and it was excellent. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food and the way it was cooked. Lovely restful cafe with views across the mere, and outside seating and dining if you want it. Will be back...especially in the winter.

We didn’t eat a full meal, but the coffee & cake selection was lovely and very reasonably priced. Fabulous views over the mere. Very family (and dog) friendly, including a selection of clean toys and books that you could borrow.

A lovely restaurant with outside eating area. There is a lovely choice of light meals cakes, snacks, teas and coffee's. The price is a little expensive but the views of the mere are excellent.

Dropped in for tea and cake on a glorious day.The setting is superb but unfortunately our visit coincided with an invasion of wasps.The staff advised us to sit outside as the nest was inside ,had been attended to by pest control [although unsuccessfully].They were clearly concerned about the potential risk to customers and dealt with the problem as well as they could.Our tea was hot and strong,but the cake we had which looked very nice was disappointing,the only thing I could taste was bicarbonate of soda.The baker must have added the wrong ingredient.However we would visit again as it is in such a lovely spot particularly on a sunny Summer’s day.

We had breakfast here on a lovely juli morning, so we could sit outside and enjoy the lake view while having a very nice breakfast. We chose the "big breakfast" , because this obviously offers the best value for money . Waitresses were friendly and efficient, the food was high quality ; free refills of coffee and tea included. We were delighted about our breakfast experience, so we repeated it a week later. And were very happy again with what we got !

Great location. The owners/managers are reallynon top of things and make sure that the service is top notch yet relaxed. The food is something else though, it is incredible! We both had the brisket and agreed it was the best Sunday lunch we had ever had, just so so good. Will definitely be going back.

There is no doubt that the Boathouse is in a lovely position and on a nice day it is a very pleasant place to sit and admire the views. However, almost £28 for a chicken wrap, cheese sandwich with two small pots of skin on fries, a shandy and soft drink to be frank is extortionate.

Really, really long wait in queue for tea/coffee/cake on a midweek afternoon. Would have given up were it not for being with friends. Found that there was no cutlery left at servery and was told to ‘go and get some from over there (wherever that was) because there’s no one doing pot washing’.

Decided to stop in and have some lunch. Dog friendly pleasant helpful staff along with good food. Very happy.

Wife and thought we would treat ourselves in the restaurant, because we were wearing motorcycle jackets, were told by the manager we would prefer it next door in the cafe.

Be prepared for a long wait!!! One customer in front of me being served, while other staff busied themselves doing mundane tasks and ignoring the increasing cue!!! I waited a good 5 minutes before any of the staff spoke to me. When I eventually got my order and sat down, I noticed that my tea pot was the cleanest thing I’ve seen in a while and our cakes were over done. I gave up, as I didn’t want to wait another 5 minutes while it was sorted, we gave up and left, probably never to return.

We called for a coffee and tea and a slice of bara brith. The bara brith was burned around the edges which we had to cut off. Not the best I have tasted. Also the stainless steel teapot was absolutely filthy and didn’t look as though it had been washed in ages. We won’t be returning.

I would never visit again, the staff were lovely and friendly but the food was vile. It is far too overpriced and out of five of us, not one person enjoyed their meal or even ate half of it. I thought for the price of it it would be delicious, obviously only paying for the view of the mere

Having just finished a long walk, we just wanted a coffee and a sandwich outside. We had to stand in the queue and wait a full 20 minutes for a coffee and cake. There was much confusion as to whether we could just have a sandwich or whether we had to have the package of soup, sandwich & chips. In the end we did get sandwiches and cake - the sandwiches have too much bread but the cakes were gorgeous. We have been coming for a few years now, but will bring our own coffee and sandwiches from now on as the wait is simply too long. Other customers were also commenting on the wait - many saying they were losing the will to live. Its a shame as it is a lovely location.

As a vegetarian it’s hard enough to find somewhere with a great choice, and although I get a bit sick of nut roasts normally I decided to go for it today. I’m normally left spitting feathers in most places and having to drown them in gravy but this was the best nut roast I’ve ever had.

Beautiful setting on the outdoor patio. We has my elderly father with us and Meg was our server. She was fantastic, attended to every need and really made our afternoon very special. Thank you Meg ❤️, you made our day. Best service ever received at any restaurant.

Highly recommended. Varied menu, Sunday lunch was excellent value and we were offered more meat and vegetables, however, we were full. Good selection of potatoes, roast and cheese gratin, variety of vegetables and lovely thick gravy to serve yourself. Really enjoyed the whole experience and service was good too.

The monthly supper club surpassed even the usual excellent standards last night when the global cuisine chosen and extensively researched by Kate and her team was Lebanese. The whole menu was superb from the wide variety for the starter, to the succulent lamb and jewelled rice for the main. The desert rice was as good as any I have had in the middle east. We have eaten at the Boathouse several times but not for a while, so we decided to try it again, this time for Sunday lunch. We didn't go for the traditional Sunday lunch option but chose from other parts of the menu. Once again, everything was very good; good service, food and an excellent outlook over the Mere.

Called in for coffee that turned out to be average quality for Costa prices. Can’t even say it’s the view as most of the mere can not be seen from the cafe. Staff didn’t look very happy and little interaction

Went there last to try their tapas. I can thoroughly recommend it. I lived in Spain for a number of years so I’ve had my share but I can gladly say that the tapas at the boathouse is as good as any I’ve had there.

Good tasty food at reasonable prices, given the location by the lake. Service was efficient and the staff were polite .

All places should be dog-friendly they are better than people unless you're a dog lover you won't get it period The 5 star is for my dog

We had a nice pot of tea and hubby enjoyed the scone. We was going to sit inside but soon realised that dogs were allowed. A couple came and sat at the table next to us and had a long haired dog. I do not understand why they are allowed inside when there are loads of outside tables. We moved outside when in my opinion the dogs should be outside. I do not think its hygenic to let animals into a food area. They moult sneeze cough and dribble. Who wants that when trying to have a drink and food. Not for me. Wont be going there again .

we were welcomed with very friendly staff and given plenty of time to look at the menu and wine list. the choice of food was excellent as was the service....we were not disappointed with our meal.

We were straying at Mereside farm for a couple of nights and ate here 3 times, once for dinner and twice for breakfast. On each occasion we were served by The very polite, friendly and efficient Emily.

Really disappointed with our visit yesterday. Living local I have visited many times to walk dogs, meet friends and enjoy breakfast or a coffee and cake.

Location one of the best in Shropshire, the restaurant food is extremely good. The restraunt is rustic bu5 ver comfortable . Give it ago for tea and cakes or a full meal I hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Upon arrival both myself and my wife were very quickly shown to a table and presented with menu's and attended to by very pleasant and courteous male and female staff.

Popped in today with family and friends. Two booked in for afternoon tea rest were going into cafe, after 15 mins in the que i thought it was weird a chef was acting as the barista, turned out he made 5 cappacinos and one espresso for the kitchen. This is whilst there was a 10 person que not moving. The person on the till couldnt use the coffee machine whilst waiting for him to finish. After being in the que for an age and witnessing him go into the kitchen after spending an age making coffees we decided to just leave our booking. Being a hospitality GM there is no way kitchen staff should take precident over customers at busy times.

I met my husband here for lunch as he works close by. The restaurant has a lovely upmarket feel and the service is very good. If you are lucky enough to get a table by the window you can look out over the mere which is lovely in any type of weather. The food was great and you can even have a smaller portion if you can't eat a regular size at lunchtime. Great value for money

Didn't eat but stopped for a drink of wine. Lovely staff and dog friendly. Wine was not particularly cheap but was very nice and views are impressive..

Really lovely experience here. Great to be welcomed by two different members of staff, accommodated immediately and seated at the only available table even though it was reserved...super atmosphere...the staff could not have been more helpful.

Had two meals here now ,both have been very good . Service is great , and location is to die for . Cater well for gluten free too ,all in all not been disappointed at all . Will definitely go again .

Rocked up for a late lunchtime snack - excellent Goan soup with spinach and potato, accompanied with a cheese and pickle sandwich and washed down with a cup of tea.

We turned up without a reservation on a busy lunchtime service to given a table for three without any fuss or bother. Service was excellent and matched by the food which was beautifully cooked and generously portioned. The sea bass was super but the star of the show was the orange panna cotta which was really first rate. Would definitely recommend eating here!

Just returned from a fantastic Sunday lunch at The Boat House. The starters, mains and desserts were all delicious and the staff are friendly and efficient. Will definitely visit again when next in the neighbourhood!

FAB, 3 of us had the Turkey for main course and it was amazing, beautifully cooked veg, meat and probably one of the best roast potatoes EVER. Couldn't believe the size of the fish and chips which managed to 'beat' the eater...loaded with flavour. Great place to meet and wonderful walk after a walk around the Mere. Great service, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

A group of 36 of us recently held a reunion event at The Boathouse. It was the first time many of us had seen each other for over 40 years. It was a special day and we held our diner at the Boathouse, as we used to do all those years ago. The food was terrific and the staff excellent. Above all they captured the spirit of what the event was all about and did all they could to help us enjoy the evening. We cant thank them enough

Visited the boat house for the first time as we have recently moved to the area. We stopped for lunch in the restaurant the menu isn't very big but I chose the risotto my husband the mousakka both were ok but the portions small plus the service was slow and disorganised and initially it wasn't very busy but it did busy up later and the service slowed down we waited ages for 2 cups of coffee.

We had delicious Crab Linguini and sandwich with homemade tomato and red pepper soup. Yum! Good table service. Lovely views too, plenty of friendly ducks and geese to feed. You can buy food for them here.

We used the coffee shop for a cake and tea. Wonderful spot to watch the ducks. The main restaurant looks very nice with a good menu. The cakes were nice.

Fantastic crab linguine, could have small light portion, which we had for lunch, also had homemade soup with sandwich. With fries, home cooked and drinks £25 , excellent service , staff friendly and very professional

Roast beef was the right choice for me at a family lunch this Sunday. In fact, all of our party thought they had made the right menu decision with each dish being well cooked and presented. This is not the place for foams and edible soil but it is a very decent restaurant in a stunning location - and all the better for it. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable. More treat than trick for this Halloween feast.

We went on a recommendation from a friend - good decision. Great staff and a really good roast beef lunch. A good menu overall. Well located for pleasant local walks.

Lovely location, and reasonably priced menu. Only down side is the car park is no where near big enough for the customers it attracts, there is a council carpark a few metres away however due to being located on the lake, this is also constantly full.

My wife and I called in for lunch and it was very nice, although it was towards the end of the lunch time opening hours you could see it had been very busy and unfortunately for us they had sold out of some of the dishes. That being said what we had was very nice, the staff were pleasant and accommodating.

Nicely situated lovely views of the mere friendly geese and ducks waddling around the place .Pleasant staff .Ordered the chowder at approx £15 for a large portion was expecting something special .Sadly was served with a large dish of creamy sauce tasting of cream and smoked fish The main ingredient was small new potatoes .There were some mussels but no other pieces of fish in the dish .If I had wanted potatoes chowder I would have asked for it though at the price charged would be unlikely to order it .

Dropped in for a pot of tea. It was just past 5 o'clock, closing time but the lady behind the counter said the clock on the wall was probably fast and happily produced a great pot of tea. As if serving after closing wasn't going the extra mile, a free scone and butter surely was. Most places would just say sorry we are closed, not here.

We loved this place so much we went back the next day! Great location and lots of very friendly amusing LARGE geese. Great service from Carla who normally works in the cafe next door but she did a fab job in the restaurant. The first day we had a full 2 course meal, marinated salmon and whitebait and then Chowder and Bacon Chop, great bottle of Chardonnay - Baboon Rock. On the second day this was our pit stop after cycling 30 miles we had amazing soup of the day and fabulous sandwiches and lovely welcome from Carla and the staff! Great menu choice and you can sit out and inside lovely view of The Mere

Table for 5 booked over the phone; we were quite early, but no problem. Good choice of starters, mains and desserts on the menu - some with option of large or smaller portions, which is good. Set menu looked good as well. Excellent service from all staff who attended - who knew what each item on the menu consisted of when asked. Drinks menu very reasonably priced as well. Views of the lake from the dining room are an added attraction for this venue.

Arrived for breakfast this morning at 10.40 and greeted with “ we cannot serve you breakfast because we have just seated a table of 10” and “ it’s ruined my morning “. We were not even offered a table for coffee etc. we later found The Burlton Inn, located in Burlton which is fantastic, thank you so much The Boat House we will be going there for the next 10 days. The man at The Boat house with the top knot needs a new job!.

Nice setting by the mere - good choice of food and drinks and plenty of seating , both inside and out . Try the excellent sausage rolls . Only gripe is that website says closing at 5 30 ( I went on a Tuesday ) but they would not serve me at 5. 10 . as I was told they had “ cashed up “ Please change your web time Boathouse .

A very nice lunch after a walk around the lake. Good menu, friendly efficient service. Parking for the restaurant. Shared loos with adjoining cafe. Well worth a visit.

Fabulous evening with a Greek theme. £25 per person and we got so much food we couldn’t eat it all! A selection of 7 starters (mezze), main course and a selection of 3 desserts. All cooked, presented and served beautifully. The staff here are brilliant, they are attentive without being overbearing and everyone was super friendly and polite.

We visited here for lunch and the staff were lovely very formal. We liked how some of the menu had smaller portion options,Food was very good. The customer service was excellent. Several of staff asked us if we needed anything. The views out the back are beautiful on a sunny day. A little thing that we liked is that there was a baby changing station in the mens toilet which you dont see often.

It is many years since I went to Ellesmere and my sister and myself decided to have a day out and, having heard good reports of the restaurant, call and have lunch there after a walk by the lake. It didn't disappoint. We both decided to have the set menu and I can honestly say that I have never had a better set menu. There was no choice but every one of the three courses was cooked to perfection. The main menu also looked excellent and was not overpriced. The staff were some of the friendliest I have come across and could not have made us more welcome. The service was as brilliant as the food. I can highly recommend the Boathouse and I only wish that it was located nearer to where I live!!

Family Sunday roast, two parts to the restaurant, cheaper basic meals then dearer high end meals, very nice beef roast dinner and all seasonal vegetables, roasters and gravy, very friendly staff, lovely setting

Great evening enjoying the view out over the Mere, on the decking. Awesome staff and service, delightful food. A quiet oasis as they stop cooking at 7:30pm. We booked for 7:00pm and it was perfect. Do go, it’s well worth it.

Went for Lunch with my partner and our dog.Service was excellent staff very friendly and helpful. We had starters and main both lovely cooked fresh with local produce. The bill came to £46 which we thought was very reasonable for two courses and two drinks. Will definitely visit again.

I will start with a positive it has spectacular views across the lake and it used to be a great place to eat. I am not sure if it has new owners or that they were really busy but the food was a bit average: the whitebait was tasteless, chips were tepid and they tasted a bit weird, the service wasn't great and you had to ask for everything. This felt like hard work at times and not service at all except they bring you your food but it pretty much stops there. Most staff look like they don't want to be there, which lets the place down sadly. I won't be rushing back here or recommending it like I used to.

Firstly a very warm welcome great old fashioned hospitality with dedicated,friendly and attentive staff.
