This isn't a traditional fish and chip shop, got charged £9.95 for Haddock Supper. I didn't think twice about the cost until it was served, fish was ok but chips were frozen and left a lot to be desired. I ordered a can of juice for my wife and a cup of tea for myself. The tea was in a small vending machine cup which I was charged the pricely sum of £2.00 would have been better off buying the juice( only £1.40) Good points Staff were friendly, dog friendly Bad points Stained seat covers frozen chips overcharged for tea. Would I come back Due to the pubs and restaurants in Portpatrick the answer is No

My son and I drove to Portpatrick on a site seeing trip. We decided to have dinner here before setting off home, went in, took our jackets off and sat at a table. Waited to he served and no-one came to take our order, in fact the girl at the desk was slumped in the window to the kitchen and barely even looked at us. After a while I went to the counter to make out order then sat back down. I could not believe my eyes when our order was brought to us, it was so crazy we couldn't help but laugh. The picture is the way our dinner was served, no plate no cutlery and the tub on top was beans. I knew I had cutlery in the car so we went to the car. When we were leaving the girl asked if we had wanted a bag, I said no but I thought we would get a plate and cutlery

We had been looking for some lunch and tried a few places in portpatrick but finally came across the boardwalk. The prices are very reasonable especially compared to other places nearby and the food was delicious, with fantastic sized portions! We would definitely stop here again.

It was pouring rain so I popped in for lunch -everywhere was very busy. I got a nice seat was amazed to be told (at 1.15pm) that they did not serve lunch till 2.30pm. I had to choose from the main a La carte menu - the soup was lovely though.

Came in yesterday, 2 of us ordered cheeseburgers. We waited 15mins then received the worst burgers I think we've ever seen. The burger was hard and dry, the slice of cheese hadn't even been melted and the bun wasn't toasted or buttered but worst of all, my bun had green mould on. I took it straight back and the lady was really apologetic and refunded me.. whilst she was doing the refund there was a rude brunette girl through the back shouting that it was just the flour on the bun (green flour?) The lady had to show her the mould to make her realise it wasn't just flour. Also realised after that we'd only been refunded for beef burgers not cheese burgers. So we were left hungry and out of pocket

Stopped off for an ice cream whilst in Portpatrick, the staff were lovely and accommodating we had a wee peek at the menu which has a good variety from burgers to fish and chips and a large pizza menu too. After the warm welcome at lunch we decided to go back for dinner which didn’t disappoint, we had two pizzas which were amazing. They also had a wide selection of beach toys which would be great to keep the kids busy on the beach in summer. Will 100% be back.

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat whilst out walking with the kids and it was decent enough with freshly cooked food and a decent meal deal for the kids. The staff were friendly and nothing seemed a bother at all. Would recommend for a relatively cheap and quick bite to eat…!

A very friendly owner but im not sure i have ever had a worse beef burger than this one in my life. I nearly left it but was starving so i ate it with lots a cheap brown sauce.

I read the reviews and took them with a pinch of salt but on a lovely night (and finding Connors next door ridiculously unhelpful) I decided to get a takeaway from here to eat on the beach with my dog. I got in the queue, only one party were seated but a couple of takeaways waiting (not many though). The girl was about to take my order of a pizza and an older woman shouted through to not take any more orders. The girl was so embarrassed and tried to get some clarity but was only told I could order when they had caught up. 2 crap businesses right next door to each other. I had a fabulous meal in the crown instead. Scottish hospitality is usually so fabulous and has been everywhere else except these 2 side by side. Neither were busy and serving one woman outside who wasn’t in a rush should not have been a tall order

If this is the same establishment we visited on the seafront, opposite the car park, we cannot recognise it from some of the excellent reviews already posted. Nothing could be further from the truth as far as we are concerned. The floor of the place was very dirty, the cotton seat covers were grubby, tea was served in takeaway containers and the only items on the 'menu' (no scones or anything like that) we could see were a choice of a twix or a mars bar. A notice did inform us that fish and chips were available from 5pm. The experience ruined our trip to Portpatrick. You may ask why we stayed there. Sadly, delivery vans blocked the road into the village when we drove in and we never spotted other places to eat. We made the mistake of patronising the first cafe we found. To repeat, something has gone seriously wrong if this establishment IS the one we visited and which attracted positive comments from previous customers.

Came here for Lunch. The staff were lovely. We ordered fish and chips, chicken Gourjohns and Chips and Scampi and chips. Everything was lovely had loads of sauces.

Popped in for milkshakes & ice cream as a family with 2 teenage children. Place was spotlessly clean and the young ladies working were really helpful and friendly. Huge milkshake really good value for money. Would definitely visit again....

Staff ignore you, sat for 15 minutes and still not been acknowledged. Went to counter, staff just looked away.

We had been waiting in a queue for around 20 minutes to just place an order, get to the front only to be told they are no longer taking orders, further wait of 20 minutes before they would, I understand you are busy but why not inform your customers while they queue. What a waste of time!! Staff don’t have a clue!!!

Stood in a 20 minute queue for coffee, milk shakes and ice cream only to be told that I had to go and queue at a different door for ice cream. This queus was even longer. The lady told me it was hot food only at this hatch despite there be tubs and posters advertising ice cream. The milkshake was delivered from the icecream counter! Also worth noting that no-one in the work area wore face masks considering they are in direct contact with the public. Won't be rushing back here any time soon.

We ordered fish and chips, a pizza (which was very good) and a donner kebab. All the food was very nice but the fish was very small and there were barley any chips. The Gravy was very watery too.

The Boardwalk looks like a cafe outside and inside but maybe needs to refurbish its serving area which looks like a small wooden hatch. Several potential customers that entered couldn’t see where the serving area was and so left. However, the young assistant was friendly...

Very helpful & friendly lady, fresh water for our 2 dogs who were allowed in cafe, best cup of tea for miles, chips lovely, dogs enjoyed their sausages thank you!!

Ideal restaurant with food to either sit in or takeaway. All reasonably priced and served from a friendly young member of staff. Would get 5 star if the older woman remembered where she was as talking to locals about us and them staring at us...

Love the pizza from the boardwalk. You get a freshly made, tasty pizza for a very reasonable price. In fact they bend over backwards to make their customers happy. It doesn't look much from outside but to me its Highly commended.

There was 10 of us, and two dogs. We had pizza, burgers, plaice goujons, everything was freshly made to order. Lovely casual dining..the pizza was the best we've ever had. Even the dogs got given ice-cream. Owners were friendly, and popped in, on a day...

Had a pizza on Friday night and liked it so much we went back the following night. Really tasty, loads of cheese and piping hot.

The Boardwalk was happy to tailor make a vegan pizza which I ordered with pineapple, garlic, olives, capers & jalapenos. Very tasty and excellent value!

We had friends staying with us over Easter weekend, so decided to order five pizzas for delivery. Our party included one vegan, two with nut allergies one lacto intolerant and me !! The Boardwalk coped admirably will all our varying requirements and delivered 5 excellent...

This was a quick visit whilst having a paddle at the beach. There was no hot food being served. Opted for ice cream instead. The soft serve ice cream was ok but the branded tub had clearly been defrosted and re-frozen. It was tasteless and full of ice crystals which was not typical for this brand. The place was dead when the rest of the area was heaving. Bit of a shame for such a lovely seaside spot.

Saw they were open and had been impressed last year with pizza we had from there, thought we'd try again, Omg wish we hadn't bothered.

We stayed in Portpatrick for 4 days and tried this on our last night. This is one of the worst takeaways i have tried. The fish is definitely not fresh and was out of a pre-pack frozen. Chips were frozen too! Sorry but not nice fish and chips.

Got a takeaway pizza and chicken goujons delivered to our camper van at Galloway point. Lovely huge FAMILY+ sized pizza, fed us all! Fast efficient and friendly service! Would highly recommend!

Have had pizza several times before from the Boardwalk and it has been excellent. Don’t know if it was just a bad one off night but it will be a long time before I find out! Really need to get your act together, if this had been our first visit there it would have been the last. There is no second chance for a first impression!!

Visited here for a large family take away. Meals cooked to order. Large portions of chips and Donna meat. The pizza fillings were very plentiful however, the bases leave much to be desired, which is very sad. Couldn’t work out if the bases were bought in as cheap as possible, or if they were gluten free. The gentleman took great care several times to make sure they were cooked, but it failed, the base was like cardboard!! Maybe he could do to spend a week training in a “Real” and busy pizza shop !

I had a fish finger roll her and that was fine, but the Chocolate served up really tasted like water.....I handed it back and told them that but there was no apology....in fact he said "see you again!! " Poor response

Was visiting family and the evening we arrived we were treated to take out pizzas from here, absolutely perfect!

Stopped off for a pizza were not starving so asked them to split a pizza with two toppings and they did this without issue. Both halves were excellent and we will be back next time we are in portpatrick

Well situated on the sea front and opposite the car park it should be well placed to have a good crowd, the problem as we saw it was we do not like tea in polystyrene cups and meals served in takeaway trays with plastic cutlery. Take away are fine if you are taking them away but lf we are eating on the premises we like cups and plates and cutlery that is not disposable.

Not sure what it is about Portpatrick, but there are three places that sell pizza, and not one of them seems able to do a decent one.

Looking for an afternoon snack - and at 3 o'clock many eateries had done lunch and were closing to open up later on. We looked about and chose the Boardwalk not expecting a great deal as it did not look inspiring from the exterior.
