Totally dead on a Saturday evening in August holiday season says it all. Firstly, the ale had run out. ( never a good start) The starters arrived but no cutlery and serviettes.. had to ask. When the mains came ( that were staggered) meaning some of us had to start eating otherwise they would have gone cold. We had no cutlery again for the second time. The girl serving, only had us and one other table to serve and it seemed impossible for her. God help them if they were actually busy. We asked for coffees and the reply was ( coffees are not my speciality) Two of us still ordered them but we're directly returned as undrinkable. On a good note, the food was nice but the service was appalling.

Absolutely amazing fillet steak the knife went through it like butter! My partner had wagyu fillet steak and just wow!! The staff are so friendly and so accommodating we had our son with us and he was thoroughly spoilt swapping and changing items of food. A child's meal with a drink a main and a desert is just £7.50!! We were gobsmacked at their prices especially for the quality of their food! They also catered for my gluten free meal.. Definitely highly recommended the chef is very talented. Thank you for an amazing evening x

I didn't get a response to my feedback so I'm posting this review. I brought a group of 14 of us here one Saturday Eve in August for my birthday and they accommodated us really well, the food and drinks were amazing and everyone had a great night. We were well looked after and everything was high standard. 5* all the way. I booked for my partner and I about a month ago on a Thursday for food and drinks after work and was really excited to return. I was so embarrassed. The youngster behind the bar, Courtney, didn't have a clue what she was doing with the cocktails (she said she works at Pegs down the road who are same owners) and clearly was pulled in to cover. Had no training at all. To be honest I liked the cocktails I had especially the June bug, my other half said his were average - she couldn't do the bubble on his mermaid elixir which took points off. Also for £9 a cocktail, I suggest increasing the quality of the spirits you use - I noticed Smirnoff and Beefeater - those are not brands that belong in a cocktail bar. Fruit that went in the cocktails was frozen. The place was dead but there was one other guy sat up the bar who was chubby and bald, didn't get his name. Courtney him and another guy on video call were swearing and talking about work related and personal matters that should never be said infront of a customer - it was really unprofessional and made me feel really uncomfortable. But hey we stayed and ordered the small plates to have with our drinks. The honey BBQ wings were inedible. The bruschetta wasn't bruschetta, it was croutons. We had chorizo olives and crusty bread - the crusty bread was half a toasted roll and olives were the cheap nasty pitted ones from a jar. The Spanish potatoes were half a tin of tomatoes, potatoes and a few slices of chorizo thrown in a pan and heated - no seasoning. We couldn't return the food as there was clearly no manager there and I felt uncomfortable enough. My other half said you must have been really drunk before you got your food that Saturday 🤣 - I felt awful and I'm so gutted as I really enjoyed the evening we had first time round. Sorry guys but I'm not sure I'll be returning.

I'm aways very critical of all new places I visit and nobody gets 5*'s as there is always room for improvement. Well I was invited here by friends and was a little unsure to start as I had never heard of this restaurant. But I like to give new places a try. Upon arrival I felt the restaurant was clean and the staff seemed friendly, we were shown to our seats, and we waited on our friends. We glanced at the menu and I noticed it was written on a keyboard that had the number 1 missing and was replaced by I which I thought was funny and quirky. Really that for me set the whole evening. As our friends arrived we were asked for drink order and brought some crisps, with packets of flavors to pour over. Trouble was moisture had somehow gotten into the packets, making them turn from powder to a slimy mess or solid. No matter, great idea disappointing result. Next I found the menu a little confusing as I saw small bowls at the start and wasn't really sure if these were small snack mains or starters. Anyhow we ordered 4, 1 for each of us, there was a little confusion and a wrong item was brought and removed. And not all the food came at once. Which left 2 waiting as 2 ate. I must admit they were either very very large starters, or as I thought small mains to snack on. My paella was huge and very nice in my opinion. 2 had chicken skewers (2 skewers each) whilst other had halloumi, all enjoyed. I was very glad we chose to order mains after these bowls, as I then opted for a smaller main of pizza that I could take home if needed. Other orders were cajan chicken, mixed grill, and half nando chicken. There was a little mix up on order as waitress had to come back to check. And again the food didn't all come out at same time, but what we had was delicious, very tasty and made up for minor errors which were more comical than serious errors. It was like a person being tested and watched which leads to minor moments of uncertainty. Overall it needs a few tweeks and would be a great place to eat. The toilets were very clean and looked freshly decorated, and as you go to the toilets you pass serving hatch to kitchen to which I had a sneakingly look it looked again very clean. My rating is 3.6*'s. Menu needs to state small bowls are more for smaller appetites not really starters as they are to big. But great value at 4 for £18 or £5 each, at time of writting. The food was to a high standard and worth the money paid even if prices were increased it would be good value. And lastly please buy a new keyboard with a 1 that works LOL.

Takeaway was extremely disappointing. Carbonara was curdled. Chips were soggy. The rest of the food was freezing.

Just had my 2nd evening here this week. Amazing cocktails. Same again tonight. Brought a group of girl friends with me this time and also tried a selection of the small, or rather not so small, plates to allow us to work our way through the cocktail menu. All excellent. Thank you to Jasmine who prepared our drinks with such precision and the boss lady (sorry, didn't catch your name) who freshly prepared our 8 different dishes. We'll be back, regularly.

My partner booked here for my birthday. We had meant to go to the octopus before for ages so when it changed to the blue oyster we were just as excited! The place was empty bar the places owners I think and their family. Very friendly and accommodating. We went here in the hope of a romantic evening meal and we had dressed for the occasion but felt we were more in a bar than anything else and the identity of the whole place was a bit confusing. The cocktails were awesome here though! We ended up leaving before we even looked at the menu and chose to go to the Yankee traveller just down the road as the menu was more varied and better value for money. The overall atmosphere was disappointing as it was loud, chefs and other staff playing darts in the restaurant and owner swearing when something didn’t go right. Missed out on a lot of money tonight sorry guys 🤷‍♀️

Love the concept, beautiful small dishes cooked fresh. Wonderful selection of cocktails and if they have the ingredients the staff will go off menu to make your chosen cocktail. Really friendly atmosphere and I can’t wait to come back 🍸🍹

Visited the Boathouse on our last night in Norfolk and we chose well for our farewell dinner. The weather was terrible so it was lovely to step inside the really tastefully decorated restaurant. The staff were lovely and friendly and gave us a warm welcome. My husband had the mussels which were delicious he had asked for a starter sized helping but he was given the full meal size so I had to help him to eat them. I had the cod it was enormous and also absolutely delicious, it came with Indian flavours and an onion bhaji absolutely gorgeous. We would highly recommend a visit there were so many tempting dishes to choose from. The lady on the next table had the homemade beef and ale pie it smelt amazing.
