The BlackBerry Jack in St Albans

Had a great meal, greek gyros and a steak with chicken, both meals were very filling and tasty. Service is always friendly here and for a Tuesday evening there were a lot of people which made for a great atmosphere.

Served by LILITH on Table 10, today (12th November) at BlackBerry Jack. This young lady deserves a well done by the bosses as she was brilliant. Great food and drinks. We were a group of 5 and will come back.

Only had a few drinks with a friend who lives local. No food so only saw do much

Three of us were served a first class full English breakfast. Reasonably priced and served quickly and efficiently by Gina. Would highly recommend.

Amazing food, great quality for low price, everything I have tried has been delicious. Always served hot even when the pub is busy, and the waiting time is always short. The pub itself has a lovely vibe, staff is super nice

This is great pub I came to watch football and drinks and it was a great atmosphere would definitely recommend the place.

We always come for lunch. It’s a good time to be able to chill and catch up on what is going on whilst having a delicious meal.

I go here nearly every Friday for lunch date with my little girl while my children are at school, I feel the atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. Staff are polite and food is certainly great. I enjoy coming here and will be returning.

Popped in for a bit of lunch and a pint and couldn't fault the experience. I had the chicken mix which was cooked and tasted perfect. Had a nice chat with the barman Dan really nice lad.

We ordered for lunch Chopped salad bowl with 5 Oz Rump steak.The meat was totally cold, not fresh made and very chevy. The salad contains almost only cabbage and lettuce, no cucumber, and only three small pieces of tomatoes. We didn't get salad dressing, had to ask for. We didn't get what we expected. We were very disappointed. In the past we used to eat in this place good food, but not now! It's so shame!

Lovely clean local pub with excellent atmosphere and friendly service. Fish and chips were fine.

Second time visiting this pub. I enjoyed a lovely meal with friends. Everyone enjoyed the food. Drink prices at this time are reasonable. The staff are friendly...our waiter Tia was fantastic and really did her best to ensure everyone was happy and well taken care of. I would recommend this place!

Came in for dinner with my friend and we got the fish and chips dinner option, food was great and good value for money. The atmosphere in the pub was great, we also was served by a lovely waitress called Tia she was a joy to be served by, a happy smiley face and great manners, asked us if there was anything else we needed and also checked up on us a few times throughout our meal absolutely fantastic service and an assist to the pub will defo be returning after the service received highly recommend visiting if your in the area

Cheap food which was OK, sticky tables, whole place could do with a re vamp. Staff are nice, we were a group of 8, food arrived sporadically. If your looking for a cheap meal nothing fancy this is the place.

Love this place and forget just how good it is, good selection of beer, but the ice cream sundaes are a must. Don't be fooled by Jersey Farm and support a great snorbens pub.

This friendly pub offers a good selection of food and drinks, including non alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails at great prices. We had sausage and mash and chicken salad for a main and 🧀 chips for a starter. We sited inside, but there is a seating area outside, too. Portions were decent, and food was tasty. I will definitely come back.

I did not like the idea of ordering the meals then having one meal coming out then wait another 9 minutes for the second meal by the time my friend had her meal my meal was almost cold very bad manners not to bring both meals out at the same time.

Lovely little pub nestled in a housing estate you wouldn't know it was there unless you lived there or googled it not extremely large but quite cosy we sat in the conservatory area as there was a football match on an several ppl in the bar area the food was lovely an hot served fairly quickly even though the football was on we had 2 courses I had the cheese garlic bread which was cooked perfectly then I went with the rump an rib combo which was brought out on a sizzle plate it was delicious would definitely recommend there was also plenty of parking spaces an children welcome

Fabulous place to eat! We came in here last night just the two of us for a nice quiet meal without the kids and it was just what we needed! Emily is so wonderful, give her a pay rise 👏🏻

Lunch for 6 people. 2 of us waited 15 minutes later than the rest despite ordering and paying first. The food was fine but I saw a lady ask the server to clean her table which had a lot of food on it, he flicked the wet cloth over the table carelessly spreading the debris around and onto her looking SO miserable!!

Nice looking place, that's the good bit. The food was of poor quality, and some of it was overcooked. Even though it was reasonably priced, the portion sizes were small. The service was slow and customer service poor. This is more of a pub (ideal local) than a restaurant and with it comes the pub language and atmosphere if that's what you're after this is ideal for you.

This used to be a great place to come with friendly staff, a nice atmosphere and decent food. Unfortunately everything has gone downhill since it has been under new management. The conservatory has been ruined by bringing the bench seats in, the food is much worse (we were served nachos with cold sauce poured all over them instead of warming them and garlic bread so burnt it was inedible). The staff now aren't friendly and leave you waiting ages. The wait time for food is really bad but this was always the case before as well. The barman got my order wrong. They often are out of stock for food you want as well. I used to really like that you could help yourself to tap water at the bar and this has been taken away. The prices are good and the food is mostly decent but overall it's a disappointing experience now.

I visited on a Saturday evening the service was good the salad bar was a bit empty and was not filled up quickly.

I was served by a sweet team, the bar staff were lovely and so was the wait staff. Taylor was especially kind and helped us with our every question

Called in for a lunch here with my family pre Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have been since so it must have been good. Food was very nice but the atmosphere and the service were excellent. They were catering for a private party at the same time so did really well considering the size of the party. Knowledgable and helpful staff and very efficient service. Taylor and Steve looked after us and made us feel very special. Will certainly call in again when in the area.

Couldn’t be bothered to complain again though. Asked for more toast as the ones served were burnt to a crisp.. the new toast arrived burnt to a crisp. Also had a problem with 2 main meals a couple of weeks ago which were cold and missing items! Unfortunately The Blackberry Jack is just not up to its usual standards, and it seems like the portions have been made a lot smaller!!

Lovely family pub brilliant new manager I think Steve was his name nothing was too much trouble and he knows his stuff got a feeling been in the trade a while, the atmosphere in the pub was good the food was tasty yes it’s not top of the range as sizzlers geared more towards family and it’s value for money but it’s good tasty food and our hungry tums were left full

The atmosphere in this place is really good especially on a busy night, lots of friendly customers and the majority of the bar staff. A shame about the bar man with the long hair, very rude, and makes the staff look messy and unclean. Other than him it has always been an all round good experience

Beers are limited . London pride rarely on and not great.

Ordered two fish and chips on the app. Waited nearly an hour for them. When they eventually turned up the fish was very hot and the rest of the plate wasn't. Chips were cold. Only one other table in the restaurant so don't know why it took so long. Also chased it up twice and was told they were dishing it up.

Great food, new manager Steve was welcoming and attentive to my gluten allergy, will be back :)

Heard there was a new landlord in there. Spoke to him and seemed like a solid chap. Had a good laugh and joke with him. Feels like that place is in good hands. The few pints i had on the way home were well worth it. 100% going back there again

Fantastic value for money and brilliant service. We had a variety of things from the food menu and none of us could fault it. Great selection of drinks too! Can clearly see that the new manager is making their stamp on the place and long may it continue! We will be back

So disappointed. Moved to the area recently and this was our first experience of the pub. Ordered 2 kids menus for our young kids which we requested to be brought out as soon ready. Waited 45 mins for it after chasing twice and by this point had 2 hungry and grumpy kids. Male member of staff was completely disinterested, and we seemed like an inconvenience to him. At least the female member of staff apologised for the wait when she eventually brought out the adult mains 1 hour after placing the order. Such a shame.

We booked five people for a meal on boxing day 2023. The conservatory area they located the table in was freezing, no heating at all. Then we ordered at bar, after half hour or so, two meals came, then five mins later another appeared then after ten minutes another appeared and order was wrong, so we waited whilst they cooked the bit that was missing , so that person ate on their own, tas everyone rose was finished by then. Finally we had to ask where the mladt persons meal was? turned out it had been forgotten altogether so he had to wait whilst they cooked that, so he ate on his own also. As we had all finished by then . All told wouldn't eat there again, shame as we used to eat there all the time, no special offers were pointed out by staff, we all had the App no mention was made of 2 burger meals for price of one, no asking if we had the app to add loyalty stamps,so no 20 per cent off meal, no mention either that app had 10 per cent off drinks either. Lucky we had good company, as we were all freezing by the end of our long drawn out meal , and mostly ate our meals one at a time. But fair play to chef it tasted nice. I told waitress we were freezing so heating put on as we left, hopefully next diners benefitted from that chat. There are lots of places I'd visit again, but not this one.

I've visited this pub a couple of times before and the service been good all the time. Today, I've been there to lunch with my dog, been served by Taylor which I've seen a couple of times and always been top of the class, quick service, very polite and gave my dog a lot of fuss today. For lunch, I've had a vegan burger which was decent made by Chef Lauren. I wasn't very impressed with the buger as missed some sauce, was quite dry but the chips were the best I've had in a pub
