The food was wonderful, absolutely delicious, however there was some kind of issue going on with the waiting on staff throught our meal there's was three woman, 1 on the bar and 2 in the restaurant they were so kind bless them only really spoke to the young restaurant waiter (looked youngest) but I have nothing bad to say about the others although as our food arrived there's was another lady who seemed to of came ut of the kitchen, bit dressed as formal(pink dress) as the others and not as hygienic , my main concern was they way she treated the other staff. our waiter (youngest one), the one who took our order .was amazing she understood our order and kept on smiling although something must of went wrong due to as the waiter came out from the kitchen she looked so upset we alsp witnessed a slight argument between the bartender and the concerning out of the ordinary staff member (the one who appeared from the kitchen) to sum up our visit, food was wonderful (seriously compliments to the chef/s) ,bartender and restaurant staff amazing, yet an unappetising lady who appeared from the kitchen who seemed to ruin my appetite the staff where amazing just maybe she should of been ready to face the public clearly took her by surprise due to looking a mess and not smelling the best

Llangollen was packed, nowhere to park (weekend and public holiday), so headed towards the Rhug Estate and Bala. Have passed The Berwyn Arms many times, but never quite at a time to want to stop (usually in a rush). However, today was a more leisurely drive and so parked up and popped in. The initial welcome was as soon as we arrived and the level of attention and service continued in that vein for the whole visit. Two of the servers were young but obviously well trained and naturally well versed in delivering excellent customer service. Order taken promptly, drinks delivered and the perfect pour for gin and tonic (ie didn't put the whole bottle in, how it should always be). Arancini to start, amazing, well presented and delicious. Mains of a lovely beef and chorizo chilli plus fresh cod and chips. A couple of steps up from pub grub for sure. A glance at other tables showed that the less traditional meals (lamb shank and salmon) both looked fabulous - presentation excellent and empty plates a clue too. I can absolutely recommend a visit, we will most definitely be going back and not just passing by. The views over the Dee are incredible, so a summer visit too, will be on the cards to use their outdoor deck. Well done, a great hidden gem.

Exceptional stay: perfect room, comfy bed, great bar, dog-friendly, amazing breakfast From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was just exceptional. The room was beautiful, clean and well presented with a stunning view across the valley. The bed was so comfortable and the bar downstairs well stocked and everyone was so friendly. Our dogs were made to feel really welcome which is important to us. The breakfast was one of the best meals have eaten, fresh cooked and beautiful quality. We booked an evening meal and it did not disappoint. That also would obtain a 5 star review. What a lovely time we had, fabulous Sunday Lunch with beautiful puddings. Have been meaning to visit for a while as everyone I know who Haas stayed or had meals have said how lovely it is. We weren’t disappointed, beautiful setting, food was excellent and the staff were friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back. Thank you for making my birthday lunch such a special experience.

On the way for a zip wire experience at Zip World, we came across this delightful pub in the A5… Wow are we glad we stopped off. We had a warm welcome and it all continued from there. We chose a table by the window overlooking an incredible view. The menu was beyond impressive and we had trouble choosing. In the end we opted for shared starters: black pudding bon bons, halloumi fries and bhaji sticks, followed by the pork loin with potato rosti, chorizo and bean cassoulet, crispy leeks with a chicken jus! Oh my gosh, it was incredible… HIGHLY recommend on your way into or out of beautiful Wales.

Booked a table here last night as part of my hen weekend. Started off great the waitresses were lovely and helpful but unfortunately things went down hill. The chicken was really pink on one of the chicken kiev meals, we did report this to one of the staff who just said they'd let the chef know, no apology was received and no form of compensation was offered. When it came to pay the bill, the manager had worked it out wrong and embarrassed one of the party by demanding an extra £14 for 2 gins that she had forgotten to charge for. The whole situation was very embarrassing and spoilt what was supposed to be a lovely special occasion with friends. We spent almost £400 in less than 2 hours so the fact that there was a problem with one of the meals and it was their error with the bill, it is disgusting the way we were spoken to over the additional money. As a gesture of goodwill you'd think they would let that go especially as a very generous tip had already been given. Before I left this feedback I contacted the pub with the feedback to give them chance to redeem themselves and the response was shocking, blaming everyone but themselves and even had the cheek to say we only gave a £5 tip when a significant amount more was left.

An impromptu visit on Boxing Day. Sarah and her team were very welcoming. The pub has been renovated over Covid, modern interior but still cosy. The food was a great surprise, excellent standard. Even better Sarah permitted us to park our motorhome overnight in the car park as we dined in the restaurant.

I wish Sarah and her team all the best and a big thank you.

Chilled atmosphere, attentive staff, beautiful views, great selection of beers and ales, and food SO good it actually makes you giggle with joy!! The food tastes as beautiful as it looks, and you'll want to savour every bite. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. You won't be disappointed. GO!

Second visit here and was as good as the first time. Attention to detail and flavour is outstanding. Don't expect massive portions of mediocre food. Do expect perfect sized courses that are next level. I'd encourage people to go outside their comfort zone and order something they've never tried before. You won't be disappointed. Definitely be back when we next visit the area

Outstanding food ! We visited in 2021 whilst on holiday and then happened to be on a trip to Oswestry for the weekend so it was an excellent excuse to return. The food was the same amazing quality. The flavours are next level and it's well priced too. We hope to return again in the future.

It is the first time I entered this cafe for over 60 years. Walking into my past. A spotlessly clean and sharp evocation of what an ice cream parlour was in the 1950’s - beautiful. The service was friendly and charming. Coffee with frothed milk - not a modern affectation. Where else can you get a cup of comfort in such historic surroundings for £1.28? I am sure the ice cream would have been as good as I remembered. An absolute gem and Rhyl should celebrate it.

Was staying nearby on holiday and was recommended to try this chip shop. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted delicious. The owner also threw in some places to visit in the area. Definitely recommend.
