Iv been using the bell for a fee years, they offer a really good roast on a Sunday and the BEST pies in the world. I recommend the steak and Stilton but even better is the chicken and gammon. 24hr pie shop 2.

Lovely stay. Breakfast was superb. Really delicious pies in the evening too. Can't stay here too often, I'd be the size of a horse!

Old, lively and characterful pub/hotel, serving good pub food with B&B. Breakfast buffet is good but the rooms are a little compact and old.

Didn't stay, went to the pub. Good selection of beers and if you're eating, their great selection of home made pies is the star attraction and they have won numerous awards. Usually if you buy a meat pie there is a little bit of meat swimming in the gravy...at the Bell the pies are so packed with meat that they serve the gravy separately! And the price is competitive. Oh, and if you like them you can buy uncooked pies to take home.

Carvery and breakfast good. A meat eaters dream. Room was ok but dated and could do with Wi-Fi. Not many attractions in vicinity. Home made Pies very good, we ordered two to take home.

Liked- Relatively clean and very interesting architecture. Receptionist was friendly at check in and the ladies on the bar were too. Disliked- The main issue in my opinion was that you aren't allowed any food in your room. This isn't made obvious to you before you book the room either. Which means you've either got to spend money in the bar downstairs for food/visit a restaurant or something nearby/eat in your car. This meant that you've essentially got to buy food whilst there because the food is bought with me wasn't exactly something I'd want to sit eating in my car! The internet is painfully slow (1mb on a Google speed test) as well Which means I couldn't complete any of the work I intended to do for the evening. The bed was also a bit too firm for my liking and the lamp in my room had a dead bulb. The bath itself is a nice touch. The small corner light in the bathroom also appeared to have to switch. The back of my wardrobe was also loose and hanging off. There were also some very questionable stains on the curtains around the bed which were quite off putting. Not my worst visit to a hotel but I will not be in a rush to head back.

Had a lovely lunch here today, food was great but service was amazing. Becky was outstanding, I would have come back just for the amazing service she gave.

You can't tell from the front, but the Bricklayer's Arms has a huge garden out the back; In summer, it's fantastic. The pub itself is a cosy old place; Good for conversations & watching sports.

Went to watch the Euros 2024 final and will never be back. Witnessed the owner absolutely raging at a girl for smoking outside near some artificial grass - The way he was shouting was very upsetting to everyone, even the bouncer realised and came over to take him away! Wouldn’t want to be back if that’s what the owner acts like all the time.
