Hour and half wait for cold sun standard food not impressed

Just had an excellent take away from The Bejing, food was perfect, reasonable.cost and super fast service and a delightful server. Definitely highly recommend. Loved the crispy chilli beef dry with a separate pot of sauce, never had it like that before, lovely food.

Food was nice but told it would be 45 minutes or so, i called back after an hour to be told that I was told 60 minutes or so which was not the case and also was pretty rude, the food turned up after an hour and 20 minutes which from the original 45 is not really acceptable.

We usually use another takeaway. But they were shut.so we phoned the Beijing. To our delight. Was a bit worried as food turned up quite late,but found out you had trouble with a delivery car.When we did receive our meal it was boiling hot absolutely delicious. No fake looking sweet and sour sauce. The whole meal was lovely.Prawn balls were superb..We will definitely be using you again. Two very happy and full customers. Thank you so much..

Fast delivery. Nice polite delivery driver. I ordered bbq ribs, the meat was allright , warm , not hot. The sauce was horrible. Beef curry and egg fried rice next . Slimy beef but tasted allright just weird, rice was nice. Flavour of the curry sauce was delicious, maybe a little too thick though. I wouldn't order from here again, at over £25 for me including delivery it definitely wasn't worth it for very mediocre food. I'll try the Mandarin next time!

Food was terrible, tasted like 3 day old food. We spent £73+ on this Chinese food. We will NEVER go there again , it was disgusting and disappointing

Party of 5 ordered and two of us (who had chicken balls) are now very ill - Avoid this place if you value your health

misses made a order for food delivery, that nearly took a hour then to top it off I got food poisoning from the chicken balls, haven’t stopped throwing up or having liquid shoot out my backside since 7am this and time is nearly 8pm and just won’t stop, won’t be ordering from here again

Such a shame that there has clearly been a change in chefs, and it's not a good change. Food is not as tasty, sauces are just plain wierd and don't look or taste right. Great service and hot on delivery but will not be ordering again until they change the chef

Very disappointing first order from this takeaway - no real taste - especially as it seems to score highly on here. The seaweed was swimming in oil in the same container as the ribs; the chicken chowmein was tasteless, with no vegetables, and the chicken was dry; the spring rolls were deepfried, like a battered fish, and little else in it. The omelette was okay but the chips were not very nice. It's a lot of money for what was a really poor takeaway meal. I'm afraid we won't be ordering from there again.

Best chinese takeaway I've had, shame it's not local to me.

It takes a lot for me to make a complaint. Just ordered from this Chinese and I can truly say it’s the worst Chinese I have ever had. Sweet and sour chicken had no taste. Chow main was bone dry like it had been sitting out in the sun. Prawns were like lumps of rubber. No taste. Pad Thai was nothing like Thai what so ever. No flavour, no spices, was basically another dry Chow Mein, so why they call it Pad Thai is beyond me. Kung po chicken had nothing with it. No onions, no peppers etc. Just chicken in a sauce (literally) Normally you get at least onions with it. The majority of it went to waste. Would never recommend this Chinese to anyone, and will never order from here again. Shame after paying over £50.

Never again, apparently when you ask for half portions it's still ok to charge you for a full portion without telling you even though you only got half the amount of food!... then not even ring you back when the driver said they would. Chips were soggy and had to be put in air fryer, satay sauce had no peanut taste whatsoever, over priced compared to alot better places in harwich

Best Chinese food I've had in years. They send you a text message when order is ready and it was still piping hot when I got it home. This is now my go to place for take out

Waited an hour and a half for a delivery, After an hour I rang and was told they are just waiting for the driver. Half hour later I called to ask for a refund as I know its been done and sat for atleast 30 mins. Was told they will process the refund later on before they close as they are busy.

Good Chinese take away with friendly staff.

We had to wait over an hour for our food and when it finally came it was disgusting no flavour never again looked at some reviews and for people to say it’s a nice takeaway I feel sorry for you , worst I’ve ever tried.

I’m a regular here , waited 1 hour & 20 mins … thought I would order salt & pepper chips … very disappointed don’t bother !!chips was soggy … Chicken balls had so much batter on them to ratio of chicken .Food was cold when it arrived , had to heat it up in the oven . Maybe time to find another Chinese takeaway !!

Ordered at 5 pm so it was fresh. If you like burnt over cooked prawn toast. Chicken balls that you could have broken your teeth on, old prawn crackers, cold chips, cold spring rolls this is the place for you £43 wasted all went in the bin. Honestly don’t bother!!! Think I had yesterdays leftover

Unfortunately this is the 2nd time the food has been awful. I ordered on line then had to ring after 1 hr and 15 mins to find out where our food was. Once delivered the food was cold hard and tasteless. This has happened 2x now. It used to be a really great takeaway,but now, for me I will no longer be getting food from here again. Very disappointed.

Sadly this will be the last time we order from the Beijing, clearly pre cooked chow main which had hardly any bean shoots and so dry and mushy it was uneatable . Shrimp curry the shrimps were not fresh huge fishy taste which is a big tale tale they have been kept too long. Time and again we given them the benefit of doubt but no longer.

Normal always order from here but never ago sauce was all congealed crispy beef tasted like it was recooked and rice dark brown so very old awful food

Total let down Egg fried rice was cold and hard,, prawn balls wernt burnt also prawn toast was over cooked or they had been using dirty oil, sauces were cold and congealed, dissapointment is an understatement, and delivery was literally over road so no reason for it to be cold

Chose this takeaway on the reviews, what a disappointment, first off they missed out a dish, chicken balls and pancake rolls were over cooked and smothered in grease (unedible), chicken curry if was any thicker u would have to use and knife and fork to cut it. Pancake roll was done in batter like cod and chips, never seen that before. Apart from the rice all went in the bin, complete waist of money.

Food Generally ok. Chicken Curry sauce far too thick but good quality Chicken. Rice Special Fried lge very good but far too expensive @£6. Spring Roll tasty but covered in masses of batter. Prawn Crackers Excellent non greasy and full of taste. Expensive- £3 more than our normal Chinese cost. <Peking Harwich>

Outstanding, reasonably priced, very generous portions. Crispy shredded beef and chicken satay was excellent. A real gem of a find. Wish it was closer to where we live, would use them all the time. You won't be disappointed.

My order was received an 1hr and 40mins after placing it. It was lukewarm the sweet and sour balls were extremely over down. Our chips were mouldy and hardly cooked would never reccomend going to the bejing. We have giving them plenty of chances and they have never seemed to get it right. Great food order frequently from here best chinese about however let down tonight by the delivery driver. I live in a top floor flat and when the driver buzzed I let him in, he walked up to the top, scoffed at me and said ‘you could’ve at least walked down’ handed me the food and walked away, no thank you or anything. I actually have a reason as to why I couldn’t leave the flat, not that I should have to explain myself to the man that delivers my takeaway on a Friday night but there we go.

On holiday here and decided to try the Beijing,ordered our meal by phone which was for 4 people,a little bit more expensive than what we pay at home. We were told that it would be 20/25 minute wait which was fine,15 minutes later we got an automated call to say our order was ready to collect (very Covid safe) huge portions,well worth the bit extra that it cost,you have to try the mixed sweet & sour balls they were delicious along with everything else we had. If we are in this area again we would definitely order from here again. Great food,worth the money and nice friendly staff.

It was our first time in Harwich and we decided to try a Chinese restaurant that was close to the caravan site that we were staying in. If you are thinking of getting a Chinese and are looking at The Beijing do it. As a group we think we've found a real hidden gem. Make sure you try one of the sweet and sour ball dishes as they are all delicious. Crispy chilli beef is a must and even the egg fried rice was beautiful. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious and being from London we have all eaten some very good Chinese food and this is right up there. This review would have been 5 stars, however we ordered a duck pad thai and unfortunately the dish that we received definitely wasn't a pad thai. It was a duck chow mein but was as delicious as the rest of the food so can't complain too much.

Chicken chow mein was great. Sadly while the Kung Po's chicken was good the sauce tasted like HP sauce. Could be a regional thing.

I have food from here every Friday. I have never had a bad meal although they did forget my sweet and sour sauce once but after a quick call it arrived about 10 mins later.

Ordered a lot from here, normally good but tonight after calling at 6.55 to complain about a dish was told the driver would bring us another 1 out after waiting nearly an hour still nothing wont be using again

Terrible chips that the unfriendly obese woman assured me had salt. I'm sure they were a week old.. loose some weight and you may cheer up.

Im very picky about chinese takeaway tried a diffrent place every where i go but they do a good takeout but like most fast food places when its busy food can get spoiled so i pick a quite day for mine and have it at its best and delivered to my nearby village top marks

Sooo Dissapointed. We were advised it was an hour wait .My husband went at least 10 mins earlier it was waiting for him it was just tepid and horrid ..if you make up your time then hard cheese don't still cook it and leave it for customers to pick up ages later ..lost our custom and spoilt our night in !!! Would rather have cooked fish fingers than pay over £12 for a rank meal !!

Could there be a more lacklustre performance of a takeaway, I think not. Delivery took forever and the food was damp by arrival. Will not go here again.
