Spoiled for choice, all sorts of delicatessen to pick from. Not super cheap or expensive but had a good browse and bought some relish, cheese and oatcakes.

We love this deli and always pop in when we are on Orkney. Their olives are lovely and the smell when you walk in is delicious. They have the most amazing amount of different stock from fresh bread to biscuits to oatcakes. Well worth a visit but be warned = you will want to buy everything.

I really liked this deli - I wish I had such a good one near my town! Picked up a superb crab roll and tea for a takeaway lunch, eaten on one of the benches handily placed outside.

Excellent deli in the heart of Stromness’s cobbled streets. If you buy nothing else, buy a sourdough loaf. Accompanied by some local butter and cheese (and where you’re at it why not some chutney) and you have a feast of kings. Staff are so friendly and helpful.

This shop is full of goodies, and they do an excellent sit in (small sitting area in the window) or take away coffee. If you are in self-catering then you can buy endless treats savoury and sweet, to have at and between meals! There is a range of beautiful local produce and plenty for vegetarians and vegans too. My mouth is watering thinking if my next visit!

This is a little deli in the main street of Stromness - but with a broad, interesting selection that belies the size of the shop! Exotic cheeses and more! It entices one to try things one has never tried before - especially fun when on holiday and trying out new things. A really little gem - worth a visit and if one lived there, a weekly visit!

By mainland standards in the rest of the UK this is a very average deli. They do have lots of local produce, but you can buy the exact same much cheaper elsewhere. Eg I bought a kilo of Beremeal which I could have got for half the price in a shop in Kirkwall. Overall a bit of a disappointment, Also, all their lunch choices (sandwiches and salads) were fish based, so no good for my vegetarian husband.

Great little spot for tea or coffee and a sweet snack. Impressive selection of "hampers," essentially food baskets built around a theme, or to your taste. Don't miss the Millionaire Shortbreads!

Stromness has few interesting food shops. This deli stands out! We found it impossible to buy Orkney produce in the local Co-op, no Orkney ice cream, cheese or butter! But this little deli has it all and many interesting items to sparkle up your cooking if on holiday. They serve good coffee too to take away or drink in at a small sitting area.

This wonderful delicatessen has recently moved from up a lane, into a bigger premises on the main street, Victoria street. With more goodies than ever this is a must visit when in Stromness. Excellent cheese and olives amongst other speciality foods. The added bonus of its new premises is that there are now a few seats inside for you to use while drinking their excellent coffee. Great friendly service too!

Delightful, modern, clean delicatessen on the main street in Stromness (in which there is a relative lack of cafes/coffee shops). The Bayleaf has a wide selection of cheeses, meats, teas, coffee, chocolates, etc and a friendly host. There are also a few seats inside and a couple of benches on the pedestrian street outside (on which you can while away an hour or so very pleasantly, sampling some of the Bayleaf's produce). Highly recommended.

Although first and foremost a delicatessen, I needed my coffee fix when on the Island. I'd been before so knew what lovely items they stock. I opted for a flat white and had a chat with the owner. Not usually on the beaten path, thus wee deli can be found up a side street and thoroughly recommend this place for your artisan cheeses, smashing cuts of meat and vegan/vegetarian needs.

We found the Bayleaf Deli by chance whilst walking along Victoria Street in Stromness, after asking at a shop we visited whether there was anywhere we might find a delicatessen or whole food shop locally. The fish counter is most inviting, and there were some gluten free items available, including GF stuffing that we used for our Christmas dinner. I had not told the cook in the family that I really do not like stuffing, but this GF stuffing was delicious with our chicken wrapped in bacon. Good cheese selection too. Friendly and helpful staff. I was unaware they served coffee until reading some reviews here, but I am sure my husband will want to sample that when we are in Stromess another time.

Good little deli that sells various foods typically found from around the world, but also local cheeses and some fish - we loved the smoked Orkney cheese with red onion. Not a big sho, but an interesting one to visit.

Best place for a coffee and perhaps the only cappacino take away in town. Only place for what I think is the best local fish in town. All sorts of herbs, spices and olives and cheeses. Also great crackers and alternative to chips for those with special health needs. Great staff too.

Having holidayed in Orkney for many years I was delighted to find this superb delicatessen tucked away in the lanes of Stromness. I went in to buy a hot coffee to take away, this having been recommended by one of the locals. I was not disappointed, this was by far the best coffee I had come across on the island that week, or indeed in many years of visits. I was then further tempted by the display of olives and cheese, and the variety of both Orkney and Scottish produce stocked. Needless to say I walked out with a bag full of goodies which were made good use of in my self catering place that weekThis gem of a place specialises in local produce, fresh and smoked fish, artisan cheeses, olives, oils, an amazing variety of herbs and spices, and of course its wonderful freshly ground coffee and teas. There is also a small art gallery displaying work by local artists. Alongside this, the proprietor, Gavin, offered great service; very friendly, helpful and welcoming.Whether you're after a great coffee, a foodie, or just looking for something a wee bit different, this place is not to be missed on a visit to Orkney. Thoroughly recommended and great to see. I will most definitely be back.

Adorable little ice cream shop in Nazareth. Get your ice cream fix with a layer of 50's vibe added in thanks to the decor and music played. From a normal twist, black raspberry, or pumpkin soft style (current choices), to a long list of hard ice cream flavors (teaberry included), to milkshakes and sundaes, there are plenty of choices for any ice cream lover. 🍦🍨🥤

This review only relates to the bar in this establishment. We were actually looking for somewhere to have lunch, but unfortunately food was not available. There were few other customers but we did stay and have some drinks. There does not appear to be any recent reviews, but we felt that the lack of atmosphere in the bar during our visit and comparatively dark decor would not encourage us to return.

This cafe is up towards Graham Place from the main street. We enjoyed soup, toasties, coffees and two slices of a deliciously moist chocolate cake before setting off for the St Margaret's Hope ferry. It was very relaxed with a friendly atmosphere, with local artwork on the walls, some for sale. Service was excellent and we would recommend this as somewhere to eat after visiting the town's excellent museum.
