Just been in, party of 5, we had my brother in law join us who wasn’t very well and happened to fall asleep. He’s low on iron so can get very tired and dose off sometimes. He wasn’t drunk, he didn’t even have a drink. A lad came up to us, black hair, mullet, purple T-shirt, telling us to wake him up. He was very passive aggressive and clearly had a serious attitude problem. Shame because the other man at the bar with the red cap on was spot on. Planned on staying there for a few hours but after that we couldn’t get out quick enough. There was absolutely no problem at all. We necked our drinks and left, because of him they’ve lost our custom and a big bar tab.

We discovered it while walking on the road and went in. A nice pub. The bartender was friendly and good. We drank cocktails and he prepared them immediately. Espresso martini was nice, had a high alcohol content, and was exactly what I wanted. Thanks. Only the tables were dirty and not cleaned before the new customer was seated. We sat down and drank our drinks, it was still dirty and no one came to clean it. I didn't like this.

I cannot recommend the Sunday Roast highly enough! It's ridiculously good! Great selection of beers & such a pleasant atmosphere. I know it is often difficult to accommodate lone diners at busy times but I was warmly welcomed here & made to feel very comfortable. Very kind & genuine staff. The Bay Horse Tavern is a more upscale pub located in the Northern Quarter. I don't mean that it is fancy. It just has a clean look of being refurbished in the past couple of years. They have a very nice selection of beers in tap plus a lot of non-traditional items on their pub menu. We settled on halloumi fries, chicken salad, asparagus tart & haddock fritters. They offer a great deal of 3 appetizers for 15 GBP. We found all four dishes quite tasty. They were well prepared and brought to our table with an attractive presentation. The guys behind the bar were friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Joe, he was great. I think Bay Horse is a very reliable spot for your dinner needs & a more than adequate wine & beer selection.

The staff were very responsive and helped a lot in making a booking for 15 people for the euros for a corporate do. We were sat downstairs where their booked tables are. There was no mention however that we would be on 3 tables split by big pillars down the middle, and I was also told that everyone would have a view of the TV for the euros. This was not true, and even if they did the TV is not big enough to be seen unless you sit on the first table of 3. Ultimately a little disappointed as these were questions I had aimed to iron out before the booking took place. Drinks were brought to table which did help however.

Great venue, great food. Most of the staff were great (guy who served us beers with beard great and lady also great). Just one guy with stud earrings had a terrible attitude working at around 17:00 and 30th June. Looked at me like a piece of garbage and was speaking to me sharply when ordering food about what table I was at- put numbers on the tables if you can’t identify the only person sat in that direction sat at a table asking over and over again. How difficult is it to identify that one person, clear he was just being off/awkward. Appreciate he might have been having a moment but I really don’t think most would have stood for it and it’s the worst bit of customer service I’ve ever encountered. He spent most of the rest of the time we were in there sat on the wrong side of the bar and playing darts with his mates so probably not committed to the role. Would go back again for the food, atmosphere and other great staff

The place is really nice, and reminds me of an old school English pub, with attentive staff who are quick to serve as well. Sunday lunch downstairs. Booked in for 3.00pm. Served our first drink at 3.20pm. Took our order around 4.00pm Served around 4.45pm. .The Sunday roast was topside of beef which at £18.85 was over priced, very chewy and tasteless. There are so many better places to go in Manchester for either less money for the same quality or spend a fiver more and have a real Sunday roast with a far better cut of beef. Overall the biggest issue was service, maybe if we hadn’t sat around for nearly two hours without any attention, even to order further drinks whilst waiting, may be the experience would have been better. Atmosphere was ok but try to avoid being seated downstairs, upstairs would be far better. One positive was the cheese mash, that eas delicious. My advice, try the place yourself but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I booked the bottomless brunch for my birthday and unfortunately, we didn’t have the best experience. There were only 2 servers for a very busy floor and service was slow. It took 30mins for our first drink to arrive, and then we had to keep grabbing the attention of staff to get drinks orders in. Over an hour in and we still hadn’t received our food. We were then told that the ticket hadn’t been received in the kitchen and that we’d have to wait a little longer for our food. When I asked at the bar when to expect our food (because I couldn’t find the staff on the floor), I was met with some rudeness. The bottomless brunch is only booked for 1.5hours, so by the time the food arrived, we were over our time limit, so we requested an extra 30mins was added on. But it still felt rushed. We only had 1 extra drink order during this time too. The food was good, but waiting 1.5hrs for food was just unacceptable and ruined the experience.

Fantastic food, drinks and unreal service in a lovely space! 😊 Details: Went for a friends birthday for bottomless brunch, I called up in advance to see if I could order from the normal menu as I don’t drink a lot, they sorted this out no problem at all. Upon arriving it was pretty busy (a good sign), the staff did a great job of managing the inflow of customers and we were promptly seated at our table. Our server ‘Callum’ was fantastic and ensured everyone had constant refills on their bottomless drinks and also took the time to make sure I had everything I needed off the normal menu (something I was initially worried about as I presumed it would be hard to manage during a busy brunch service). The food portions were great compared to the usual bottomless smaller plates, high quality food at a great price, clean plates all around! The chef also was happy to make a special request for a member of our party who wanted to have her eggs cooked differently than the menu stated. The inclusion of cocktails on the bottomless was also great value for money for those who got it and the drinks portions were regular sized and not in smaller glasses to reduce portion. Callum was fantastic and really made our experience, he didn’t rush us out (as is quite common with bottomless brunch) and also allowed us to stay at our table once everyone had finished. Will be back, whether it’s just for drinks or maybe to try some more of the great food! 😁

One of the nicest burgers I've had in Manchester, great cosy atmosphere inside and nice team serving drinks, very polite but the only thing that let it down was the nearly hour wait for the food, I get it was busy and I'm usually the most patient person but this was very long, but on the bright side it was a work lunch so the delay meant we missed meetings so not the end of the world. Very lovely pub with a nice atmosphere and great decor. Very much enjoyed a cosy spot at the back where you had a bit of privacy but could still enjoy the general chatter of the bar!! Fairly slow bar service (though it was a Monday), but waiters were attentive and polite, despite us having one person arrive late and being unsure of what to choose on the menu. Would add that the menu was limited (2 / 6 or 7 main dishes weren’t available) and the starters were fairly expensive for a small amount of food (5 beer battered prawns for £8.50). Though the taste was pretty good - would absolutely recommend the Christmas pie! We originally booked for the Christmas menu, but were told when arriving that menu needed to be booked several days in advance so they could order in the food in (which is fair enough, but I can’t see this info anywhere on the website and didnt receive anything when I made the reservation, or confirmed it a few days in advance). Perhaps a bit of proactivity eg stating that the menu needs to be booked in advance on the ‘Christmas’ part of the website, or indicating this on the Christmas menu itself, would’ve been helpful so we weren’t disappointed. Saying this, overall would recommend if you can get a good deal on food and enjoy the 2 for 1 drinks as service and atmosphere is quite good and people are super friendly 😊

Dining Experience @ The Bay Horse Tavern. . Styled as a modern take on the humble pub, they quickly picked up awards for their delicious restaurant-quality dishes served in a cozy setting. . Ambience has plenty of classic pub character, including an antique feature fireplace, and decorated mantelpieces. The main bar on the ground floor features mustard-coloured chesterfields and teal banquettes, with tiled floors and a dartboard. Pop downstairs to find a cozy and intimate dining space, flanked by the open kitchen. . Service is friendly and efficient. Staff take and fulfil orders quickly, cleaning up efficiently when diners leave. Very welcoming, they also accomodate families with children. . Food is classic British English pub grub, from grazing plates to quick bites. Ingredients are locally sourced, dishes prepared from scratch. There's a good range of craft beers. Portions are medium sized for individuals. Prices are reasonable, budget about GBP £19 per person. . The Beer Bay Horse Pilsner (GBP £5.70) is the house craft brew, a refreshing tipple. . The Beef Steak & Ale Pie (GBP £12.50) features a medium-sized pie, with a flaky pastry pie crust dough carrying bready sweet savoury buttery flavour. . Within are chunks of beef chuck steak, white onions, and diced carrots, slow-braised with ale and beef gravy till everything turns tender and juicy, resulting in robust meaty salty savoury flavour. . The pie is garnished with crispy fried shallots, lending a light crunch and vegetal salty savoury flavour. . Served with creamy smooth mashed potato with starchy sweet savoury flavour, and chunky gooey mushy peas with vegetal grassy earthy sweet flavour. Completed with more beef gravy on the side.

We bulk ordered A LOT of chips for post match food after a rugby game. The food was ready in perfect time at a very good price. We will definitely do again!

The worst experience and service in Manchester. Despite having a booking we were refused entry due to being 'a group of lads.' This was the only reason the door staff could give and could not expand any further on this. When asked to speak to a manager he said it is on the booking policy. Where? I asked him to show me, he was 'too busy.' We have attended as a group of men to the lawn club and always had a pleasant and enjoyable experience. It felt we were turned away due to the venue being overbooked and our gender was used as a pitiful excuse. The reverse sexism at play here is wrong. This turn of events ruined the flow and enjoyment of our night out. Would we have been turned away of you had not been busy? Would we have been turned away as a group of 10 women? The worst service in Manchester I have ever experienced. We were told by the door staff as a group of lads we wouldn't get in anywhere in Manchester but everywhere else we booked was accommodating with exceptional service. Perhaps poor management and incompetence was the issue. I would not recommend lawn club to anyone, a business that can honour bookings is not a business I would wish to use again. Also the rude and unhelpful staff display a drop in quality service from what was once an exceptional venue.

Came here for brunch with a friend, there obviously wasn’t enough staff in to cope with how busy it was so didn’t mind waiting extra for our brunch but when it came I was thoroughly dissatisfied £13.75 for a full vegan breakfast and there was nothing special about it a pitiful amount of food it was over cooked and unseasoned and all from the freezer aisle nothing home made to justify just under £14 My friend got the scrambled eggs and salmon which ended up giving her diarrhoea Definitely never going here again

Called in mid-afternoon for a pint and some food. Lovely traditional looking pub inside, friendly bar staff and a menu with enough options for everyone. We all chose the Sunday roast - excellent all round. Lots of fresh veg, decent gravy, tender beef and the ham was memorable, roast potatoes could have done with a few minutes longer in the oven but that might be personal preference. Generous portions, nicely presented and had a home-made feel. No issues at all and good value for the generous portion size.

The food and staff were fabulous the four of us loved this experience like no other. Adam himself is a lovely chatty guy whose love for food clearly shows. Love to go again soon.
