The Barn is an underrated hidden gem of Leeds. The cafe blends the perfect balance of high-quality food, community atmosphere and affordability. The food is consistently good, but what really makes the place is the level of thought & care of the staff. Support this local business!

Always great. Staff are lovely. Dog, child friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Brilliant vegan choices. Brilliant coffees and cakes. Food high quality, fresh and interesting. Very reasonably priced.

Cafe within Meanwood Urban Farm. Serving coffee, tea cakes as well as more substantial meals. Excellent value for money and friendly staff. You can sit inside or out.

Coffee was nice however a bacon and egg sandwich took 45 mins making us nearly late for willow weaving. Very poor service. Would not recommend coming here.

Nice place if you are out with kids. You can stop for a quick snack and coffe. Place was lively on Saturday, full of families with kids, nice friendly atmosphere. We had just coffe, it wasn't the best one but ok.

Lovely coffee & cake with the best cat latte art I've seen!

Had a delicious full vegan breakfast and latte here when in the area. Service was fast and super friendly. Manager v knowledgeable about coffee. Lovely atmosphere, calm and suitable for families with young children too. WiFi and a separate work area if you need a quiet space to work.

I visit the Barn on their Acoustic Nights. I knew one artist and had a surprise on the opening act, and judging by the atmosphere, every month the “wow effect” is back. I drove 300 miles for that and don’t regret it. Food, coffee and staff at the Barn are as good as the music. Just go there!

Take me here on a hot day please! What a joy to find a family friendly cafe that serves fantastic coffee. Reasonably priced too, so you can feed the family without being bankrupted after a trip to the awesome Meanwood Valley Urban Farm. A great day!

We discovered this place yesterday and are back again today! What a find and an absolute sanctuary this place is. The vibe, the people, the coffee and food everything is just perfect and would 1000% recommend!!!

Really quick service considering how busy they are. I just had one of the best soups ever and it was all really good value too. Nice selection of food with a few different things from your usual cafe menu. They are very children and baby friendly with lots of highchairs and a book selection and ikea play kitchen in the corner.

Just had a fab Flat White at this local gem. Staff were friendly, attentive and the Manager clearly knows his stuff- a work room has opened up to the right of the Café and feels like a home-away-from-home. 10/10.

Great coffee - Andy is very knowledgeable about his coffees and the whole process that goes into creating perfect coffee. Great bacon buttie too! Cool inside and sunny courtyard seats outside. Lovely venue.

This is the place to visit if you like good coffee, the coffee is outstanding and Andy Mcbean (yes this actually is his real name I am told) will be able to tell you where the coffee is from (all fair trade). The menu is varies, lots of tasty breakfast options, both for meat eaters, vegetarian and vegan , for both cakes, breakfasts and lunches.. also get to say hello to some furry animals on route. Staff helpful and friendly. Whats not to like!

A lovely little find serving amazing coffee, loose teas and breakfast baps (with gluten free bread and homemade muffins available too!). So much thought has gone into the way it runs, from the biodegradable take away cups and compostable lids to the story behind their Rwandan coffee and loose green tea. Highly recommend. You can tag on a Meanwood farm visit too at the same time!

Fantastic coffee and great food

Superb coffees. Blends and single origin brews from farms in Uganda to Papua New Guinea supplied by our best local roaster, Shiloh Coffee Roasters. Today I had a great long black with a roasted red pepper and aubergine pilaf deli box and I felt contented and cheerful all afternoon. All the staff are lovely, a real home from home.

Great lace for coffee and lunch

The barn coffee shop is located in a separate building and can be found down the footpath to the right of the main gate. You pass the small play area and go over the bridge on the stream (Meanwood beck) into the courtyard. The cafe is in the building on your right . The entrance is wheelchair accessible but you may need help with the door . The interior of the cafe is pleasant and the cakes and biscuits along with hot food are well presented . Coffee and tea plus soft drinks are also on sale . There is room for wheelchairs . I used the disabled toilet across the courtyard as it’s got more room . In good weather it’s possible to sit outside in the courtyard.

Quiet, cosy coffee shop and a great place to drop by, ask for help if you are in doubt the staff are very accommodating.

I was completely taken by surprise as to the level of this coffee shop. The baristas knowledge of coffee is spot on and, although a long time ago, the pourover was amazing. The breakfast was great too and I highly reccomend. The only trouble about it is the location.

A little hidden gem in Meanwood, with lovely coffee and alpacas! A peaceful place to spend the afternoon seeing the animals, sitting in the coffee shop and walking through the greenhouses and gardens.

The food was okay but a bit bland, full of screaming kids so a good place to take your own screaming kids without getting eye rolls.

Great little place to enjoy a drink and relax. It also hosts evening events.

Nice venue and good service, but the menu was underwhelming and the kids lunchbox option was rather mean portion wise and would really benefit from the addition of a pudding. I want to support this venue, so hopefully they can iron any menu issues out.

You may not know that the barn is a social enterprise, so as well as serving the community of Meanwood as a friendly and inviting place for families visiting the Meanwood Valley Farm it is also giving part of their profits to local charities and good causes. The Barn was re-opened around late 2016 and is a welcome addition to the farm, plenty of space to sit, around 10-12 tables inside in the winter and picnic benches outside in the summer or earlier if you’re brave enough. There is a small but efficient menu of espresso based drinks and food to suit walkers and families, reasonably priced too. Free WiFi and locally roasted coffee with guest V60 or Chemex brewed single origin speciality coffee too for the caffeine geeks amongst us.

Just came over with granddaughter to pass a couple of hours on called in for cup of tea but just had to have a full Breakfast very nice as well

Really good quality ingredients in their breakfast. Simply better quality sausage, egg, tomatoe and bacon. Taste the difference. All well cooked. Now for a coffee. The best in Leeds?

Used the room upstairs for my son's birthday party. The space was just right. The Barn Coffee and cake was a lovely touch for the adults. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice little coffee shop in Meanwood Urban Farm. Good for a coffee and a bit of cake. One of the barns has sections with small animals, like rabbits and piglets, for the kids to look at. All in all, well worth a visit!
