One best meals to date.Food was amazing and good value for being upmarket.Service was spot on and not long to wait.Wine was very per bottle.Highly recommend

We waited over an hour for our food after waiting over 30 minutes to order or someone even coming to our table. Once food arrived, the burger was dry and over cooked. Place came recommended to us but we were very disappointed by our experience. We felt invisible and avoided by staff as there were many locals in the dining room.

Once again exceeded our expectations from the high quality, the stunning presentation, the comfy sitting to the most friendly and attentive service. Highly, highly recommended!

Came for dinner. Delicious meals, large portions. Catered for adults and children really well. Excellent service. Delicious puddings. Children’s portion size was huge! Would definitely recommend and hope to return!

Went there at lunchtime today to find he place closed. No notice on door or window as to the reason for closure. We had travelled 30 miles to go to Huntly. We ate in the Merry Kettle which was very busy.

Ordered a coffee, hot chocolate, apple juice, two scones and Christmas cake. Coffee was delivered warm and was bitter. Scones arrived after 8 minutes and were dry. Christmas cake was nice. Overpriced and very average. Hopefully their food menu is better

Visited today for a family lunch.Despite being the only folk there on arrival, no warm welcome was offered. It was cold enough to warrant leaving a jacket on.Menu choice was ok but a bigger choice of hot dishes would have been better.Lady was pleasant enough but would suggest a sunnier disposition is required for the young waiter, to say the least.Wouldn't be a place for a return visit I'm afraid which is a shame because the interior is just beautiful.

Previous visits have always been for evening meals (which are excellent by the way) so was looking forward to my first lunch. As expected, food was great, service attentive and friendly, and ambiance was pleasant. Happy to recommend and will be back

We went here for a date night and it’s a good job it wasn’t a first date - as despite it’s fancy interior it wasn’t cosy or inviting! The food was mediocre and over priced but hey that’s the norm these days. Sadly the service was nothing out of this world and the hygiene and cleanliness is appear a bit slack. We wouldn’t be back but then you’d never when they are open as it doesn’t seem to match their opening times.

The bank is a local restaurant to me, which, for no good reason, I had not paid a visit. We booked a table on a Sunday evening, and it was very quiet. Upon entering everything is neat, clean and well kept. The decor is simple and modern with some local information in the form of a comprehensive leaflet stand just inside, as well as a wall safe behind glass reminding you of the former purpose of the building. We were met and taken to our table where we were offered fresh warm and crispy bread rolls. The menu is relatively limited, but I think covers a good spread of preference. I opted for soup of the day, of which there were 2 choices (I had roast Vegetable and bacon) which was fresh and satisfying. For mains, both my partner and I opted for fish and chips, although my partner asked for salad instead of chips with hers. Portion sizes are generous, the fresh fish coated in a light batter and the chips were perfect. The salad delivered with the other half's fish looked very appealing too. We were both very happy with the fish! Opting for dessert, we ordered lemon cheesecake, and sticky Toffee Pudding. Both were generous sized, I have to say one of the largest sticky Toffee puddings I have seen outside of America! I'm pleased to say that both were delicious.Overall in my opinion The Bank is an excellent option for an evening meal in Huntly.

Huntly is a white patch on the gastronomical map. This restaurant has a good location, amateurish service, and primitive unhealthy food to offer. If your horizon is above sandwiches, quiches and battered fish, do not go.

This is a lovely conversion from bank to Restuarant with very welcoming staff. The food was of very good quality and reasonably priced.

First impressions were ‘wow’ with the purple wall, stunning art deco mirror & chandelier in the foyer, definitely an appealing & modern image to set.

We stopped in Huntly thinking we might grab some sandwiches for a late lunch but happened on The Bank and gave it a try. We discovered it has a great chef and an interesting menu with very reasonable prices for the quality. We had a very substantial and delicious Cullen skink, and a home made smoked haddock quiche - light, fluffy, really very good quality. Attentive service, too - but then we were the only people in there, shortly before they closed for lunch.

We visited Huntly and popped in here to a very well thought out and professional looking cafe restaurant. I think it's a better restaurant than a cafe.

Dined here again for dinner recently with my son and his girlfriend. As always Fiona was at tentative and professional. The food as always was outstanding. I really couldn’t fault The Bank at all. Highly recommend.

I took my parents and daughter (age 7) there for Mother’s day and could not have asked for anything more. Staff were very pleasant and could not have done enough for us, the place was buzzing and had a great rush and atmosphere about it. And as for the food, it was absolutely amazing!! My daughter had the kids fish and she could not eat it quick enough, she’s been ranting on about going back ever since!! My parents and myself all had 3 courses along with coffee afterwards. We thought it was great value for money considering it was high end!! Very impressed with our visit, will definitely be back!! Keep up the good work. Huntly lacks good restaurants but they don’t need more than what the bank can offer!!

I had a really enjoyable meal with friends at The Bank. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Real attention to detail. The menu choice was excellent and our meals were lovely. Everything was cooked to perfection. Most excellent at all levels.

Absolutely terrible service. The girl that seated us and took our drinks order didn't seem to know what she was doing, was very unsure of herself, took our drinks orders wrong, then we had to wait a really long time for food to even get to the table, they didn't bring all the food together, my father in laws meal was sat in front of him for 15 minutes waiting on the others and had to chase up the rest before it reached the table, then we didn't get the chips that were ordered. We had two toddlers with us who were starving. We got a very meek apology at the start about the wait but nothing was said when we voiced our dissatisfaction, we definitely won't be returning.

Nice decor. Child friendly. Soup and panini very substantial. Staff young and very pleasant but really could with more training. You expect someone to ask if food ok and if desserts or coffee required. Plates were also left on table too long. We were in no hurry however. A busy establishment with above average food.

We were there last Friday for lunch. We all had the deep fried haddock and couldn’t fault the fish but served on cold plates which means the chips cool down very quickly, also the fish is stacked on top of the chips....why? This is our third visit to the restaurant and I seem to remember on our first visit, the chips were served in small individual baskets, great idea as it keeps them hot ( I could be wrong, perhaps it was somewhere else)

Nice lunch menu. Enjoyed our meals but we did not stay long. It was more for fuel than relax and enjoy our meals as it was cold.

Visited The Bank Cafe today for lunch to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We had pre-booked as we were a table of 11. Fiona and the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and they really could not have been more helpful. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals. There was no problem with us taking in our own birthday cake and staff were more than happy to move tables around so we could get a group photo. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch and we will definitely be back.

I had a lovely dinner at this beautiful restaurant with my husband. The restaurant is located in an elegant historic building The chef adapted the menu to my food intolerances so I could eat a fresh and delicious meal, made with the best local produce. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended !

We went during the herst on saturday. It was so nice to see the restaurant busy. We went with our two young children and were made to feel very welcome. My only observation would be at lunchtime I wouldnt expect table service its quite fussy and formal. Think it would be better if you ordered at the bar and took a wooden spoon with a number. We had delicious bacon rolls-the rolls were really fresh and my daughter had a lovely kids burger which she loved. Thank you as always for a great time.

This looks a bright modern cafe and is worth going in.staff were friendly.i had an excellent Cullen skunk and wife had sandwich cake and tea after also excellent.not a cheap cafe but couldn't complain about food at all.

We arrived and was seated start away, very busy but staff were on the ball and made sure we were attended to quickly, waitress's were very pleasant and nothing was too much bother. Food very good and would definitely come back next time we are in the area.

We stopped for lunch and I had the BLT, which was very good, and my wife had the Brie and cranberry sandwich which she thought was excellent. Friendly service and excellent restrooms.

Wir waren zur Burger Happy Our dort, weshalb wir auch nur die kleine Karte mit 4 Burgern ( inkl. vegetarische Variante) sowie Beilagen zur Auswahl bekamen. Der Tisch neben uns erhielt seltsamerweise die gesamte Karte. Der Burger war höchstens durchschnittlich gut. Das Fleisch extrem fest und schwer zu schneiden bzw. zu essen. Der Burger an sich war recht trocken, die Beilagen die ich hatte ( Süßkartoffelpommes, Salat und Onion Rings) waren jedoch recht lecker.

We were out for a family meal with young children for a special occasion. The menu had a lovely selection of choices and there was also a kids menu. We all had the most amazing food and really excellent service from a very professional yet friendly waitress. The only things I would fault was they had run out of specials. We also had to wait a while for food but we were a large group and if hadnt had kids with us wouldnt have been an issue. We are so lucky to have such a lovely restaurant in Huntly.

Had a great lunch. We were a bit late for lunch but they still invited us in. The lunch was very good. I had fish and chips and my wife had a home made quiche. Both were great especially the quiche. Thankyou

We booked for dinner. My husband & I both chose the rib eye steak. It was tasteless and very fatty. Certainly not worth £26. the restaurant was very quiet we had to ourselves. Ar couple came in just before we left. Not good for a Sunday evening, We will not return

Our lunch of paninis and coffee was excellent. Easily better than the average Costa or Nero and nice to be able to support a local business. Do pay a visit. Thanks Yvonne and Neil

Starting with the positives - amazing sticky toffee pudding, lovely clean well kept toilets. The food was okay but nothing startling. Struggled to get something our picky son would eat. Clean, cakes nice but not sure it was worth the price.

First Class food and service - Cullen Skink 'to die for'. The atmosphere and décor added to the experience. Where can I buy that carpet?

Lovely cakes on display and I enjoyed my scone and tea and my husband enjoyed coffee and a muffin. The food could have been fresher it was possibly yesterdays. The restaurant was really quiet so not much atmosphere

Fabulous meal at The Bank tonight with family! We were a party of 5 including three vegetarians & were very pleasantly surprised to see more then one vegetarian option on the menu (a rarity in most of the shire!). The first course of cannellini hummus with soused vegetables was fabulous & such a pleasant change from being limited to soup or fruit! Main courses were all fab!!! I cannot recommend the mushroom and leek tart with a walnut and parmesan crumble topping highly enough! The combination of flavours was like an intense explosion in the mouth - quite amazing!! Sadly we didn't get to try any desserts as we are all so full, though this gives the perfect excuse for a return visit very soon! Service was brilliant & we especially appreciated the owner coming to speak to us after our meal. Many thanks for a wonderful evening!

We went to the bank for some lunch last week, stood for 10 minutes before we were acknowledge and when asked if we could have lunch was told they were just about to stop lunches, mention the fact that we been standing for 10 minutes waitress then succumb at that point but food was very average and overall disappointed. Wont be going back sorry

We went to the bank for a meal prior to christmas & enjoyed it so much we squeezed in a 2nd visit before Christmas.

I was really looking forward to our works Christmas lunch at The Bank as I had previously been there at lunchtime and found it to be very good. My starter of smoked salmon and sweet of chocolate orange parfait were average but my main course of turkey and trimmings was poor. Turkey roll topped with oddly tasting sausage meat. The veg was either under or overcooked. Only two tiny overdone roast potatoes, no mash and a small helping of gravy. Other diners at my table agreed. Those having the vegetarian option said it was average, but a bit bland. On a positive note the prawn cocktail and sticky toffee pudding was reported to be very good. Despite the heating being full on the restaurant was freezing and the toilets were even colder. I felt it was overpriced for what we got.

stopped off for lunch nice setting nice attentive staff menu slightly limited for lunch but we did eat well Cullen skink very filling and just managed to get through my fish and chips but no room for dessert just coffee and a cup cake each.Very relaxing atmosphere and a real freshness about this venue.On our list of favs for future reference. Fresh and delicious food. We had paninis, fish and chips and burger. Everything hot and presented well. Staff very friendly and helpful. Best place to eat in Huntly without a doubt. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My wife and I visited The Bank restaurant for the first time and we were absolutely delighted with the quality of food, the presentation and the service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated to a high standard and was warm with a welcoming feel to it.

This is a small restaurant in a classic-style building overlooking the town square in Huntly. The décor is modest but at the same time classy with an understated elegance. The tables are well spread out which is great, as it affords diners privacy and plenty of space between tables. The ceilings are high and convey a sense of space. Staff were attentive and polite, and although the lunch menu was not extensive, the food that we ordered was well presented. I was there with my husband for lunch and we both had more than enough as the servings were generous. The meal was good value too, and not over-priced. We'll definitely be back.

Wow, what a wonderful meal we had here on Saturday night. The food and service were first class. Wished we lived nearer, Huntly is lucky to have such a high class restaurant but at very reasonable cost.

The dining room has a real nice relaxing feel to it and the food is excellent. The staff are all well acquainted with the menu and are very helpful. Overall a great eating experience.

We ate at the restaurant early evening while the place was quiet and the staff were very welcoming in the smart but not too-formal setting. Good quality & flavoursome food, very nicely presented - a really good find.

Been to this restaurant many times and haven't had a bad experience. The food is always spot on and the staff are great too. There aren't many places to eat in Huntly at the moment so it is good to know that you can always rely in The Bank for a nice meal. The only thing that they could offer would be to add some other options in the menu as it is quite restricted. Other than that I'd happily keep going to The Bank!

Popped in for a coffee, plus a scone, in the afternoon and after looking at the menu, decided to book in for our evening meal. Not the most extensive but the quality was superb and provided value for money. I'd have given it more than four but we were kept waiting on arrival at the door despite booking a table and weren't informed about a photographer who was constantly taking photos through most of our time there.

Being local to Huntly we have intended to visit this restaurant since it opened and only now got round to it so the last time I was in this building it was actually a bank!

Am reading mixed reviews about this place, am very surprised by the negative ones! We visited one Saturday afternoon so yes, there were young girls serving, however, they did very well. Did we wait a long time for food..... not too long but you could tell it was freshly cooked. Was it over priced? Nope, I certainly didn't think so, £35 for two, which consisted of two courses each and two teas/coffees.

The food and drinks are priced high which is fine but you expect the service to be also. A young waitress served us our drinks and cakes which were wrong, she accidentally spilt my coffee on delivering it and then swore straight after. No apologies for the bad language or spilt coffee. Disappointed in what should be a nice place to have food and drinks.

While spending a holiday in Huntly we were recommended to this restaurant and were not disappointed; we were warmly greeted by Gaby who spent a long time chatting to us and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant is beautifully appointed; we visited on two occasions but only for snacks, on our second visit Gaby recognised us and came for a chat and again before she went off shift which we thought was so nice of her. It was our intention to return for an evening meal however time ran away with us and our holiday was over all too quickly. So, thank you Gaby for your warm welcome, it was much appreciated. The toilets, like the restaurant, are appointed to a very high standard, and shows they are about their customers. If we are ever back in the area we will certainly make a point of coming for that evening meal. Would highly recommend.

Whilst visiting family in Huntly we decided to have lunch in the Bank, nice atmosphere good food, but fir what it was jyst a little prucy we thought.

I've been here several times for lunch and find the service getting very odd. Nice welcome, take the order efficiently but then it all goes s-o-o slow.

Went for coffee and a scone and asked for our coffee in mugs rather than those wide shallow cups which we hate. Waiter was surprised and said they only had flowery mugs which was okay with us. He then came back and went on about how they heated the cups and it was obvious that a request for a mug had not gone down well. Gave in and accepted the coffee in the usual cups. Unfortunately it tasted as if much of the water used to heat the cup was still in it as the coffee was watery and weak, Scones were okay but a bit small. Overall, a bit expensive for what we got even without the trouble over the cup/mug.

Haddock and chips very tasty. Good portion well cooked. Chicken supreme tasty but a bit short on tomato and mozzarella - wouldn't have said it was stuffed full which was how the menu described it. Staff very friendly.

Great food and all tasted fresh and hot and good service by all the staff and the prices where very good for the local area and the hosts where friendly also. Liked the hugs of ice cold water also

my husband and i had a meal here last night the food was excellent ,service was friendly and efficient reasonably priced only moan was no cloth with the white wine bucket which meant the melting ice dripped everywhere but its a minor thing was busy need to book last orders are 8pm

By far the best place to eat in the town centre. Service was excellent. Iced Water served in jugs as standard. Drinks order was quickly taken. Did not have long to wait for starters which were delicious- really must go back and have the mozzarella starter as looked and was told tasted delicious. My pate was nice and the black pudding croquettes lovely. Mains were piping hot and can highly recommend the supreme of chicken which was moist and tender. Cocktails were really good and wine very nice. No room for pudding sadly but were given home made toffee to finish our wine. Highly recommend

Have talked for ages about eating here so at last finally got round to it, I called early morning to reserve a table as it was a Sunday and thought it could be busy,they didn't open till 11 so decided to call back once open,before I could do so a friendly lady called asking if i'd been trying to call and could she help me,I thought this in its self was great service,we booked for 12pm and headed through.

We were met by a very welcoming staff who looked after us from start to finish. Prosecco was nicely chilled. The tea, sandwiches, and home bakes were delicious. A very relaxed and enjoyable afternoon.

My daughter and I paid our first visit to Huntly yesterday and went to the Bank for lunch. The light and airy atmosphere as one enters the building was inviting and we were shown to a table promptly There was lots to choose from on the lunch menu and we were both pleased with our choice of food, in my case a smoked salmon with cream cheese sandwich served with salad and crisps. We had intended having a pudding but the lunch was so filling we decided reluctantly to do without and had pots of tea instead.

What a lovely place, visited Huntly for some lunch, this place looked really inviting my husband and I had the Cullen skink was absolutely delicious and a couple of panini's which was lovely. We will be visiting again. Staff were very helpful and polite.

I can't say very much about The Bank. The advertised opening time was 11:00 am but I waited outside until 11:15 am by which time it still had not opened and I went elsewhere. It's a shame because I am told the food is not bad and hoped to check things out. Might not bother in future.

Restaurant is really welcoming with nice fresh décor

I visited the Bank for some lunch with my mum and friend after seeing that it was ranked at number 1 in Huntly on TripAdvisor. The Café / Restaurant had a good atmosphere, it was pretty busy and the staff were really attentive – our main server’s name was Dylan. The food was delicious; Mum and I ordered fish and chips and my friend ordered Cullen Skink soup and a panini. All three of us really enjoyed our meal and the very generous portions. My friend's only comment was that she wished she’d have gone for the cup rather than the bowl – very large portion! Dylan told us about the Afternoon Tea that the Bank has recently started offering. It sounded very incising. We got some cakes to take away because we were too full for one but they looked too good to resist– they tasted absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend visiting – cannot wait to return! Perhaps for afternoon tea, next time!

I love The Bank. There hasn't been a lovely place to eat around Huntly for ages and now we have a fantastic coffee shop (lovely lunch too) and posh eaterie in one. I have been with friends and family several times for dinner and had coffee with my work mates - it's always good. The food is high standard and there is plenty of it (unlike some gourmet places). The people who run are also very hospitable and friendly. A must if you are in the area.

A nice restaurant and the food was excellent with generous portions. I had the bean burger which was really lovely and very well presented. My partner had the mushroom wellington, which again was very good - the accompanying vegetables were cooked tp perfection - he would have liked the option of potatoes though. The desserts were lovely, chocolate fondant and sticky toffee pudding - I would recommend the sticky toffee! A couple of good vegetarian options which were clearly marked - except for the desserts, which were not. This review would have been a 5 except for two things - 1) all vegetarian food should be clearly marked, including desserts. 2) We were stuck on a table between the toilets and the cutlery trolley, despite the restaurant being two thirds empty. The door between the restaurant and toilets didn't close very well and that was annoying, Despite the food being very good, we didn't feel very welcome because of the table that we were put on. Not sure that we will be going back.

My husband and I were visiting Huntly for a wedding and booked an evening meal at the Bank Cafe restaurant. Having been at a restaurant in Aberdeen earlier in the week where the quality of the meal was very poor, and very over-priced, we can only congratulate the owners on the service and quality of the food provided. I had the tastiest Cullen Skink soup followed by a beautifully cooked piece of haddock. Battered haddock is the choice on the menu but as I cannot eat batter I asked if fish could be breaded, not a problem at all. My husband had the battered haddock and it was just as good. Sadly, could not manage a sweet and asked for coffee which was nice and hot. Overall, a lovely evening and will pass on recommendations. Prices are reasonable for quality of food, most of which is sourced locally. Sadly, it is just a little too far to be able to visit on a regular basis.

First visit for lunch. Had Macaroni and cheese. Very tasty, but a very small side salad. Food was good and service friendly. Nice quiet atmosphere with no "noisy music" which is so common these days.

We visited the Bank just over a week ago for an evening meal. We ordered and then waited for approx 40 minutes for our meal. The waiter did come and apologise for the wait just before our meal was served. The meal itself was lovely, tasty, well presented and hot. The staff were very pleasant. Sadly the restaurant was a bit on the chilly side.

Well presented cafe/restaurant. Table service was professional. The food was freshly prepared and well presented. The macaroni and cheese would benefit from using a stronger flavoured cheese. Wine good but a little expensive

Our dinner was delicious, but service was difficult to get hold of (and it wasn't particularly busy). Very small menu, nothing marked as vegetarian. When I asked what was vegetarian, waitress was very confused about what I meant. Extremely expensive and only option for children is full price adult meals - we didn't get the impression families were what they were aiming for. The food was excellent, the best I've had in Huntly, but we didn't feel welcome and it was really expensive. Unlikely togo again, unfortunately.

The building and the service were very good. The lunchtime Cafe menu was sparse and unimaginative. The choice was soup and a sandwich, soup and a "burger" or either of the above without soup! Only one variety of soup on offer, tomato (at £6 plus per bowl!). The beef burger I was served turned out to be a slice of Lorne sausage in a bun (£10) plus some chips (£2 extra). Could have purchased the same at Greggs for less than half the price, with a larger variety of menu.

had one of the best meals ever here from the little taster of chestnut veloute to a wonderfull grilled salmon with grated truffle and chowder just superb mus be the best food for miles around well done to the owners for bringing huntly a supreme restaurant

Decided to try The Bank having just moved to the area, so didn't know what to expect... but we certainly weren't disappointed!

As part of a large group ( of which I had raved about this place to) we dined on Saturday evening and It was simply stunning yet again. Everything from the "amuse bouche" to the "petit fours" and everything in between was expertly cooked and was a delight to eat.

we had another great dining experience here the food is of superb qaulity for the prices you pay i had lamb with pumpkin and then followed with cod and lobster stunning cooking /service welcoming only downside is we need to travel from aberdeen but well worth the hour up the road for this cooking keep up the good work to all at the bank

Tasty food, efficient service and friendly staff meant that we had a lovely family lunch here. We were slightly early but the staff were accommodating. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean.

We had snack lunch, excellent service in modern, relaxing, clean surroundings. Food was lovely, reasonably priced though I think there was a money off deal going on the day we were there.
