The Backyard Cafe in Dudley

Food was exemplary. We ordered breakfast (brioche toast and full English) and had coffee and juices. Most importantly staff were friendly. The environment is calm and quiet. Highly recommend. Our first visit but won't be our last. Oh and pay by cash if you can! Card option however is available.

I love this place, whether it’s for a coffee or food. Such as nice atmosphere. The food is really good quality and served quickly. Coffee is always good. Staff are friendly and plenty of carparking. Dog friendly. I come here to work sometimes as it’s so nice.

We don’t often get a day off, to enjoy the local cafes in our area. So when a brunch day came up, we were on it. 1. The service was attentive, calm and timely. It was lovely to see everyone working as a team, and watching the food and drinks being made. This always fascinates me. 2. Ordering was simple, a tasty menu. Nothing to confusing at all. Which helped our indecisive minds choose quickly. We knew we were choosing premium ingredients. Everything is soo informative. 3. Then our meal! We ordered the ultimate breakie burger, with some of the power juices. They were awesome, fresh, juicy and flavour was like a holiday! We also ordered fresh orange juice & immune booster! Yum yum yum yum! I can’t say it enough! Thank you soo much for having us! Our day off has had the best start! Xxxx

Wow wow wow even though the oven was broken on our visit this hasn’t retracted from the beautiful food (mushrooms on toast) with poached eggs. Brilliant customer service.

Nice friendly atmosphere and decor .Ordered big breakfast ,small one and brekkie burger.All were very well cooked and very tasty .The burger was outstanding ! We live local and consider ourselves luck to have a place of this quality near us...will def be back.Well done to all staff , can tell you take pride in your work!

Breakfast as always was banging! I had mushrooms on toast which are my fave and my partner had the cheese toastie with extras. Everytime we go we have the best service, the team always go above and beyond and the food is just outstanding. This is one of our fave spots in the local area!

From the moment we walked in to leaving there was a nice warm welcome and atmosphere, the service and food was wonderful will definitely return.

Lovely hour with my Mom today, warm welcome with a big smile, had a warm scone with cream & jam along with a cup of tea. Relaxed atmosphere, really is worth a visit. Will definitely return.

If I'm paying £5 for a bacon and sausage sandwich I don't think it's asking too much for it to be served on fresh bread. If you charge premium prices then why not use premium ingredients? The sandwiches took so long to be served that our pot of tea for two had already been finished so I couldn't even wash the stale sandwich down with a drink. Overall I was very disappointed.

I have reviewed this café before back in 2019, but I have to say that after COVID it had come back even better.I had Eggs Benedict with home cured salmon (gravlax) on sourdough toast this morning and it was incredible! As a Swede, I can honestly say that they have got the salmon down to a tee, complete with the traditional mustard dill sauce, I thought I was back in Sweden for a moment :)Perfectly poached eggs, a total bliss!! Love it!

I have been visiting backyard across the last two years or so with my mum after recommendations off my colleagues- and it never lets me down. Prior to the pandemic, it was lovely to drive out to (it's in quite an unassuming area) and eat in, however across the last year they have done a brilliant job providing takeaway. The cakes are always on point and we have really enjoyed the weekend themed meals for collection. The service is always great and the passion for delivering delicious food in such uncertain times has never wavered. Thank you for all you do

We have been a couple of times for a breakfast and each time it has been amazing, The loval produce they use is out of thes world..... They also bake their own selection of cakes which everytime i see them on FB they have me drooling We will continue to use this place in th ecurrent uncertain times They offer takeaway sunday lunch now which looks devine and i will try it

Well don't mo were yo start we gave gad vouchers bought for my BIRTHDAY August we live 10 miles away we xant book a table, Been 4 times and can't get in so that's 80 miles we have done now we on lick down again , so think when they ooen again i am going to ask for our £30 back unkess they book me a table ,shame as food is good there yours ann terry mason

Arrived just after opening time on a Sunday and had to wait for a table. So glad we did. The breakfasts are amazing with quality ingredients, full English, vegetarian- all tastes cared for. Not the cheapest option but well worth what we paid.

I used to go to this Cafe often and the food was beautiful. All the staff are super lovely and friendly apart from one who is normally front of house. She never smiled, never made you feel at all welcome and barley spoke to you. It all seemed like too much effort. Not even a thank you.She made me and my friend feel really uncomfortable going up to order our food.Felt like it was just us but I know other people that go who say the same. It's such a shame but I've decided not to go there anymore for this reason. Sorry Backyard.

I finally got to see my old mate Rich at The Backyard Cafe today and I have to say the food was fantastic. My partner and I both had a full English breakfast which was plentiful and cooked to perfection, followed by a Portuguese tart to take away which was also delicious. Good friendly service with a smile I highly recommend.

Found this place by accident and wish I would have found it sooner ! Just had a Sunday lunch and it was delicious very easy to collect and the lunch and pudding was really tasty would highly recommend and will visit when it is back open in a couple of weeks.

Have reviewed before, but after last visit just want to say, they haven’t slipped at all. Welcoming, decent value, and excellent quality. Have only had breakfast there, but it’s always been excellent. Have tried various options but latest visit, scrambled eggs superb, so tasty. There are (minor) drawbacks - fairly small - 8 or 9 tables in total; can be chilly early on in winter, and you MUST book - so we’ll thought of, lots of covers, always booked, some get turned away particularly at weekends if not booked. Quality place but not really what I’d Class as a ‘Restaurant’......

Second time I’ve been here, a couple of updates and changes to the menu and still everything is so tasty. Each component tastes amazing in its own right. Highly recommend and advisable to book to avoid disappointment.

This is my 4th visit now and on all 4 occasions I have tried different food ! But the food is just Amazing each time and always tastes so so fresh .Took my friend for the first time today and she hasn’t stopped talking about how good it was especially the cakes ! We even took 5 cakes away today so our families could experience how good they were ! Wish it was closer to where I live but always worth a trip out ! Can’t wait to come back and bring other family members and friends to experience the niceness!

Nice little cafe on my doorstep and not a greasy spoon in sight. Probably going to be a destination for women rather than men as it had an "afternoon tea" and young mums type of atmosphere. However the breakfast was very filling but my coffee had gone cool before it came - for which the manageress apologised which was appreciated. It didn't end up any cheaper than the local Premier Inn where there is also the continental selection included but at least I didn't stick to the upholstery! May try lunch.

My wife and I found this place entirely at random having just visited the Black Country Living Museum, what a find it was! I had the roast pork sandwich and my wife, given that she was participating in veganuary, was not left out as there was a fantastic selection of vegan options. The food was exceptional. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who made our experience worthwhile. Exceptional food. A high level of cleanliness. Friendly staff. What more could you ask for?

Went to Backyard Cafe with the family and was not disappointed in the slightest. Warm welcome, fantastic service and scrumptious food.

As always today’s visit was delicious! Today I visited with a friend and her 2 year old who played happily with all the toys. We both had the yummy McYard muffins which are sooooo nice! Also managed a Jaffa cake brownie and a couple of coffees! Excellent and would highly recommend.

We recently chose the Backyard Cafe as the venue for a family get together. We were able to book for a party of 10 and the staff managed this large group excellently. My wife had visited before but for me it was the first time and it didn’t disappoint! This place is a must visit for any local foodies and I can fully recommend the McYard - that patty is to die for!

Popped into the Backyard cafe for brunch with my Mum. Enjoyed their take on a mcmuffin and wow it was delicious! Treated ourselves to one of the amazing freshly baked cakes too and was not disappointed... We even had to take one home!

We found this little gem last year and we frequent it regularly. Just love it. We go for breakfasts or brunch mostly , love the unusual twists on the vegetarian options. Never been disappointed. The cakes are to die for too! Great staff and customer service, the only disappointment is we never found you earlier! Well done guys, keep it up!

First timers - thought we would try Backyard after reading great reviews online. We were not disappointed! Went for Sunday breakfast. Food was lovely! Sausages were terrific and supplied by a local butcher we were told. A minor issue (brown toast when we ordered white) was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Price is competitive compared to other decent cafes in the area. Very friendly patrons and staff. We will return!

I took my pal here for lunch on Saturday, big wow. Though it was lunchtime they kindly made me their big breakfast - top quality & huge breakfast. My pal had the hot pork sandwich with roast potatoes & gravy.

Just visited BackYard cafe for first time with daughter and fiancé. Daughter has been there lots of times. Got a cool vibe about it. Food was hot and really enjoyable. Spent a couple of hours there. Staff very friendly. We’ll definitely visit again.

First visit here today and was not disappointed! Greeted by a pleasant young lady who showed us to our reserved table. Food was excellent All cooked fresh and served piping hot Think this will be definitely be my regular place to eat now. Lovely clean and a great atmosphere.

It is a busy cafe, the staff were kind and helpful. All the tables looked reserved or full but a member of staff asked a couple if we could share a large table with them. The food took a while to arrive but they were clearly very busy and cooked from scratch, it was worth the wait. I had a turkey sandwich which was enormous and so tasty I forgot to leave room for a cake. I took home cakes as they look just like on their photos, I tried a crosonut which had toasted mallow and fresh blueberries on and a marzipan mince pie. All my family loved them & they all want to come with me on my return visit.

We visited for my wife's birthday brunch. everything was awesome... Great coffee... Kids size meals... Everything is fresh... The eggs Benedict were spot on... I personally love the ambiance and décor... And an amazing selection of cakes... I wish the team at backyard cafe all the best and success!

We went here for a Sunday breakfast. We ordered a full English and a garlic mushrooms and I have to say it was perfect, delicious, hot and fresh! I have a good business and it was so lovely in my day off to be looked after so well. Staff were so polite and friendly. Cannot wait to revisit!

Me and my wife had a rare child-free breakfast out. We prebooked a table at the back yard cafe for our first visit. We were not disappointed. I had the full English. All the ingredients on my plate tasted amazing, the sausages the black pudding the bubble and squeak were stunning. My wife had the eggs benedict. She couldn’t fault it. It looked so beautiful on the plate too. Both breakfasts were cooked to a fantastic high standard. The poached eggs were incredible!! The atmosphere in there was lovely with different types of people enjoying their time chatting away. The cakes soon grab your eye when you enter the cafe. The all look absolutley delicious. The staff were all lovely helpful and polite.

Been here a few times for breakfast now with family and loved the food especially the muffin, but everyone liked everything they ordered. There’s a little toy corner with play kitchen for kids which is good and we always have to try the amazing looking desserts too might have to visit again this weekend

Fresh, seasonal and top quality produce, cooked by a really talented chef. We've been at least ten times now and feel that for the quality of the cooking and ingredients used, it's incredibly reasonably priced. Its a cafe menu done with flair and everything is cooked (from scratch) to perfection. Will definitely be back and will tell everyone who'll listen to check it out.

Ordered a hot pork sandwich with all the trimmings and was pleasantly surprised to find it came with roast potatoes and gravy. It was the best tasting pork sandwich I've ever had and would definitely be returning for another one soon. Well done 😊

I'd never been before so I rang to book a table on a whim...I think you will be lucky to get a table if you don't book.

Visited on a recommendation can’t fault it been twice now already. Went first for cake and coffee which was totally delicious (hard to choose so many scrummy ones). Went for lunch second time took me ages to decide as everything they were bringing out looked delicious. Went for the salmon salad which was one of the nicest I’ve ever had. Have already recommended to many friends.

Would suggest booking as it's normally quite busy, the staff are polite and the food is very good. Think the price of a couple of things on the menu is a bit high given it's a cafe but it's a pleasant atmosphere and the kitchen looks clean. The tables had not been wiped down in between customers though so a couple were dirty including ours.

Having already visited here with my girlfriends, i thought i would treat my boyfriend to this little hidden gem.

Heard we had a new cafe' locally so my self and my daughter visited for lunch .. although busy we sat out side for a while till a table became available.

We visited for a family get together, we hadn't booked but they managed to accommodate us. The breakfast was amazing, so fresh and delicious. We had to have the cakes to take away as were too full. Which were also beautiful. Lovely place, staff very helpful and friendly.

We have visited here on a number of occasions and loved it every time. Ideal for family, friends or a couple outing for a catch up, meal or snack. Menu has a great variety, lovely surroundings and friendly staff who are always happy to help. Finally, a local business ticking all the boxes providing great food and service nearby in the community. Cannot wait to visit again! We will most likely be weekend regulars breakfast is awesome- we are booked in for lunch next week and I collected 10 cakes on the morning of my mums birthday to take away and everyone commented on how delicious they were. Make sure you try and book to avoid disappointment!

Went for breakfast Saturday at 9am. We didn't book and got seated straightaway but all tables were full within half an hour so may book next time just to be sure. I had eggs Benedict and it was superb. My partner had the full English and really enjoyed it.Really friendly staff and lovely decor. We had lunch here after a recommendation to try the cakes. It’s a bit of a hidden gem and I so wish it wasn’t a 26 mile round trip or we would definitely be regulars working our way through the menu. Food is excellent and cakes heavenly- We even took some home for the following day.

Wow, great experience all round, food, service and atmosphere, these guys know what they are doing! We had two of the all day brunch dishes, so tasty, followed by some very good coffee and a wonderfully extravagant doughnut (to share!), will definitely spread the word and be back soon.

Wow, finally a local cafe with stunning food, the eggs Benedict is out of this world and the cakes, well what can i say. All food freshly made on the premises and I can't walk passed without feeling hungry. It is always very busy so you need to book so you aren't disappointed.

We visited this fantastic cafe on a Sunday morning. We were advised to book as can get busy. The place was busy but not overwhelming. Lovely welcome by fantastic staff and food to die for. I had full English and my other half had the Veggie Mcyard. Beautiful couldn’t pick fault and top class ingredients. Planning our next visit already. These places are hard to find and this one is a must visit!

Visited at 11:30am when breakfast menu ends a lunch menu starts. Very nice atmosphere and decor. The cafe reminds me of Jillys cafe In Kingswinford, and is similarly priced. Lunch and cakes were tasty and will visit again.

Finally managed to get a table. We have visited several times but its always full, which is a good sign. We only visited for coffee and cake but the carrot cake was amazing. Very good coffee also. Will be visiting again for more food.

Buzzing atmosphere, welcoming, warm and friendly. Popular with babies but that just adds to the atmosphere 😊 Delicious brunch and amazing cakes!! Make sure you book!

What a lovely cafe, a very friendly welcome and a diverse menu. Very happy to see almond milk as a dairy alternative for my cappuccino. Prompt service and the food tasted delicious. Look forward to my next visit and thank you for offering something a little unique (also your cake selection looked amazing, next time!).

Came here for breakfast today and it’s truly amazing! The staff are really nice and the cafe itself is decorated lovely!

Have been a few times and always enjoyed it....however menu change new items have been added and I feel they have warranted a review....I had the new beef chilli hash which was honestly so so good, if I’d had that in a restaurant in Birmingham for £20+ I’d have been over the moon....So lucky to have such a brilliant little place in a small local community like Kingswinford. It gets very busy, so be prepared for a wait....but the guys deserve all the success, so I’m more than happy to wait to support a local business.

Visited this cafe for the first time this morning and what a nice surprise it was .

Came in for breakfast with my husband and baby. Found a lot of the tables had reservations on them, however the waitress allowed us to seat at one the reserved tables as the they wasn't due till the afternoon.

A friend who lives near to this cafe arranged to meet me there after recommending it to me ... Wow what a little gem I’ve been introduced to ! Fresh food and cakes galore!

Saw lots of posts on my Facebook from friends so decided to take my husband for our wedding anniversary (17 years). Booked via Facebook with no problem and our table was ready for us.

What can i say....Food was superb...Had the pork sandwich which came with apple sauce,stuffing,roast potatoes,crispy onions and a separate pot of gravy...Was OMG to die for..Followed by a lemon meringue doughnut that was awesome...Will be back again that's for sure. Staff were helpful and friendly and not overbearing. Little gem in Kingswinford.

We have been to the backyard cafe on several occasions now and it is one of the most consistent places for excellent and innovative food that I have ever eaten in.

Great place, staff excellent,food good and cooked to order ( pork sandwiches,and jacket potatoes excellent,bacon to die for!) Very busy but worth waiting for,cakes and coffee or full meals,just what the area needed.

Lovely venue which is friendly and family run. Menu is limited but delicious and cater for special diets accommodating really well. Really enjoyed meal and gave already been back several times for snacks, drinks and the delicious cakes

Customer service was top notch. Friendly with sincerity. Food was AMAZING and all from scratch. Cake selection was also fabulous and I took a slice to go which I’m sure plenty of people do. The selection of food is very good. There are lots of homemade cakes to choose from. It is a very popular cafe so we were lucky to get a table.

Visited The Backyard Cafe on recommendation from a friend. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Relatively busy but there was a table for us. I have to say we had a genuinely friendly welcome from the staff which is so rare now! No falseness whatsoever just a really nice happy smiley team who were so helpful. Informed us about the special straight away which I ordered as it sounded great. The breakfast is super tasty, very well priced and the coffee is great. So glad we heard about this place! As we live about 5 minutes away I think it may be our new favourite spot. Exactly what the area needed!

I took my family here as they are here for the week from Spain.

After sampling Baked in Brick at Digbeth Dining Club, I was extremely excited to learn that the chef had set up a permanent residence at a cafe down the road. No more trekking to Brum for good food instead it was literally right in my backyard!

I had been recommended to visit the backyard cafe and i was so glad i did as i have experienced the most amazing breakfast ever !! i cannot praise the staff enough for making it so personal, adapting and accommodating me and my daughters breakfasts to suit....i went for my birthday and it was a fabulous start...i had the vegetarian breakfast which included avocado, spinach, sweet potato wedges, with all the usual eggs, tomato, mushroom and beans...and i never thought i could enjoy breakfast this much to write a review...but it was not just the food it was the overall service and lovely staff that made this place extra special... i will definitely be back (hopefully later today!) to try some more of the fabulous food and cakes that are soo tempting.

Lovely decor, spotlessly clean & nice staff. Food a tadge expensive to what i would normally pay for breakfast but hot freshly cooked, presented well & tasty. It was busy so obviously very popular, my friend had booked & glad that she had. Seemed to be busy on the takeaways also. We will return.

Visited the Backyard Cafe last Wednesday after following on Instagram for a few weeks and several of our friends telling us how great it was.

Visited for breakfast. Had the avocado and poached eggs. Delicious. Food was just beautiful. Only comment I would make is that it wasn't obvious we had to order at counter and sat there a while before we asked. Will deffo go again. Strongly recommend booking.

We were recommended to try this place by our daughter, while an hour away from where we live it was absolutely worth the trip. I had the pork and stuffing sandwich.... You get roast potatoes on the side (WOW) and my wife had the lemon and thyme chicken sandwich which she loved. We then progressed onto the outstanding cakes... We shared the mint aero brownie and the chocolate cake which were divine. This is our new favourite place, but best you call in advance to book a table as this is no ordinary cafe.
