We entered with a wedding part about an hour before their scheduled closing time, the bartender welcomed us all with open arms turning on the tvs and began with wonderful service of foods and drink. I had the haddock with chips. My fish was fried golden brown to perfection. My daughter had the mac and cheese, it was absolutely lovely with the creamiest cheese sauce ever. The atmosphere was very welcoming. If I ever return to Scotland I will definitely be back!

Great hotel bar excellent and people friendly

I seriously don't get the poor rating. We didn't eat there but the atmosphere is excellent. Laid back, friendly, with inexpensive drinks, cold beer and helpful, efficient staff. There were several locals there, which made it better all around. Everyone was chill. It's got that hole in the wall cool vibe with retro 70/80s music the night I was there. Wish I'd had more time!

The place is a bit off the beaten path from the main street. The food is delicious and the service is very nice.

For a place that says it’s a hotel it’s a very towny bar. Lots of locals and riff raff types, bull dogs going around the bar. Not very attractive for tourists. The staff are pleasant and no issues but it was not for me The beers are just standard and the decor is slightly run down inside! It might be ok for a quick beer but you could not relax into th place.

Would give this place no stars if I could! Had booked a table for 2 for 7.00pm - when we arrived no table was there for us. A member of staff then came and got a table. Asked for the menu and when it came only had a choice of 4 main courses - I asked to see the manager as I had been on their website before booking and it had a varied choice. Manager who came was extremely aggressive towards my husband and I - he said shortage of staff and only two commis chefs were the reason and if we didn’t like it then go!!! I asked why he hadn’t altered the web page if this was the case and again he became very aggressive! Told us it’s not a restaurant it’s a bar. Will definitely not be back and certainly would not recommend to anyone else

Cheap-ish place. Lots of locals drinking here! Wouldn't totally recommend for round children. Staff pretty ok too.

Went in for lunch the place was quiet. We all wanted pizza l. They had ran out of pizza dough. So opted for soup. It was nicr but wld have been better if it came with crusty bread or a roll instead of a slice of cheap bread

Food was average, drinks OK for price. Shame about the awful kareoke.

Wir haben ein Restaurant für's Abendessen gesucht und sind eher zufällt hier gelandet. Die Bar / das Restaurant liegt ein bisschen versteckt an der Hauptstraße. Wenn man das Lokal betritt weiß man nicht so genau was man davon halten soll, da es eher einer Kneipe gleicht als einem Restaurant. Jedoch waren die Leute sowie die Bedienungen super nett und vor allem das Essen super super lecker. Man sollte sich vom ersten Eindruck eben nicht täuschen lassen. Dieses Lokal ist den Besuch definitiv wert!

Urige schottische Kneipe, sehr freundlicher Wirt, erstklassiges Essen. Preiswert aber hochwertig.
