The Regent in Stirling

Bring earplugs! Food fantastic, although if you order sweet and sour, you recieve a thimble full. Staff don't return to tables for you to order more either. Staff were more interested in carryout and delivery service. Perhaps the restaurant should not exist. Saturday night is busy, but if they are so successful, perhaps employing some one to answer the phone would be advised. It rang CONSTANTLY when we were there, so 1.5 hours. We couldn't hear ourselves speak. Staff standing beside it didn't even answer it. We had to seek out our own bill at the 'bar', and it was thrown at us. At no point did ANYONE ask if we needed anything else, if we were satisfied with our meal. Sad really, the money is their own driving force.

I’ve just had the best Chinese meal I’ve ever had. Wintersweet, formerly The Regent was relaxed, had excellent staff, was reasonably priced and most importantly the food was to die for. When I next come to Scotland I will ensure I have a detour to Stirling to revisit. I had duck with pineapple and my friend had Cantonese style sweet and sour chicken. Neither of us managed to eat everything. Thank you to the chef and team.

No longer the Regent but called Wintersweet, under new management. Lovely meal food was fresh and tasty. Staff were very friendly and the wait for food was too long either. Lighting is a bit on the harsh side and could do with softening. Great selection of food both Chinese and Thai and portions were very generous. Would recommend.

Party of 8 , all had starters and mains including one MSG free and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food The staff were lovely, very welcoming and the service was excellent Will definitely return

This was the best Chinese food I have eaten in a very long time, Chinese takeaways not as nice as they used to be almost like they are not trying this was really nice will definitely be back.

Fried rice is very nice. Sour spicy soup is very nice too.

It was later at night arriving 8pm ish was very nice would go back happily. People with myself really liked it as well.

Went in again Sunday 23/7/23 & sat down after about a year since i was last in & it's still the same - u don't get much sauce if u have a sweet & sour Cantonese style SO i had to splash out more money to get an extra portion of their sauce. The plates were warm 👍 & the rest of my meal was hot 👍 & their nan breed was very nice 👍 & so were the staff.

Ordered take away salt and pepper spare ribs small amount for the price also king prawn omelette one large egg if you where lucky and a few prawns disgusting to say the least straight in the bin and to make matters worse they had the cheek to charge £19.50. Avoid

We use the Regent for takeaway whenever we are at home in Stirling - Dorothy who takes my order is amazing - she remembers me even when I've not been for several weeks - I am Coeliac and gluten free options are no problem for this restaurant - all the dishes we have had have been beautifully cooked, generous portions and really delicious! Highly recommend The Regent!

We had a lovely meal here one Sunday evening in June - service was great, food was very good! Their chow mien noodles are excellent and my kung po chicken was a highlight!

Ate here today. Customer service is excellent, ladies are so polite, courteous and helpful. Restaurant and toilets are spotless. Great pre theatre menus, big portions and really good prices. Cannot fault the chicken satay and spring roll starters, with chicken curry, chilli chicken and fried rice. All food freshly cooked. Highly recommend. Keep up the good work ladies!

Somethings changed - used to really like takeaway from the Regent. But a couple of days ago it was poor. Several dishes I used to enjoy now brown, bland or downright weird. Didn’t keep the leftovers for the next day, which isn’t like me ! Plus seemed expensive for what we had. Won’t go back.

Food was terrible, £6.50 for 3 dry ribs to start that tasted like rubber clearly had been reheated to much was shocking! . We all left most of our meals and starters. disgusting. Would not recommend

Always loved The Regent for lunch but the new lunch menu is very strange . Choice of starters are 3 kinds of chicken soup.... Or a can of juice ... When you're a vegetarian it's not a great option neither much choice if a meat eater ! Mains very limited . Only one option for non meat eaters..shrimp.. Nothing for vegetarian people. Such a shame and not only for non meat eaters but very little options at lunch tbh with any courses

Extremely rude waitress. Went in to order take away and she put her hand up to my face told me to wait and stand back. She was also rude to a group of tourists. I just walked out.

Staff are lovely very chatty but not over the top. Meal in restuarant very good. Im allergic to dairy chef and staff very helful with me choosing my meal. Rooms clean and tidy. What I really enjoyed was the bath as not many hotels have these now.

Used to eat here many years ago, quality of food has sadly gone considerably in the intervening years. The staff were friendly and tried hard to make our visit a satisfactory experience.

The most recent management setup has been a great success. I have both praised and criticized this place over many years. Todays: lunch was really excellent, especially the Szechuan beef.

Service excellent , no draught lager, but the ice cold Chinese Beer in bottles sorted that out !! Our Server explained the contents of the mixed start that was devine , with mains of duck , ginger spring onion and chicken curry , both with rice were excellent - portions very generous

Well what can I say. In Stirling over night as the car is in the garage for a service, was looking for somewhere nice to have meal and googled Chinese restaurants, up came The Regent. We went along and it did not disappoint. The food was ace and the 2 lovely females that served us were full of chat and very attentive in their jobs and so chatty. They were also busy with home deliveries and take aways whilst we were in. Keep up the good work and hopefully we will be back for another visit very soon..

Great atmosphere, staff are so friendly, food is fantastic. My wife broke her back a few years ago so finding a place where the seats are more comfortable where we can spend a few hours enjoying our meal is brilliant. Was over the moon when the current owners did gluten free choices. We get a takeaway most weeks now and had a sit-in lunch on Saturday. It was absolutely delicious! The service is great and the staff are fabulous! Highly recommend a visit 😊

My wife & I visited for the first time since the restaurant came under new management, reports had not been good but we kept an eye out and things seem to have improved. I'm pleased to say we both had a lovely meal and noticed a few small changes around the restaurant and a new menu, all in all very good and we will be back again.

Went for a family meal and the food and service was great! The family that manage this restaurant are very accommodating, so warm and friendly it made the dining experience very nice. Very overpriced food which was not nice. Spare ribs hardly had any meat on the(never had ribs lile this anywhere) & had stale meat on some. Peking sauce was weird like tomato ketchup sauce. Being a Chinese, I don't go to "local" Chinese restaurant. However, a friend highly recommended them so I went to give them a try. We had the banquet and there are plenty of food for 2. i would highly recommend their hot and sour soup and my husband said the chicken noodle soup is very nice too. Staffs are friendly and the owner even offer us a free cup of Chinese tea. I would recommend them for both Chinese and Non-Chinese friends.
