The Avenue Fish Bar in Staffordshire Moorlands

I have being coming to this fish a chip shop for a few years now me a my wife, she loves them here yet we live in Cheadle so rush home to eat them 😀 You always get a nice welcome everyone is friendly even when busy👍 it's nice a clean a tidy. Now as for the food, today we had 2 small fish chips a peas and a large fish a chips I was asked if I wanted cod or haddock which was nice😀 I can tell u something the batter was still crisp and warm with my 15 min drive home it was cooked perfectly🧑‍🍳 and the fish was a good size a chip size excellent it came to £24.00 and worth every penny. 👏 So I highly recommend the shop, it's worth a visit even if your driving through u would miss a treat. Keep up the excellent work a see u again hopefully a bit sooner.

Just had x2 large fish and chips one was full of bones and had a real tang like plastic the other was dry and totally tasteless the chips are average at best.

First time ordering,no problem with the chip shop but very very expensive for the portion size,mixed meat and chips £9.50 is double other chips shops.

First time here for take away, chips were really tasty, cooked to perfection and the staff were very friendly whilst serving

Great fish and chips reasonably priced and well located just off the main road through the village on my way back from hiking in the Peak District. A small number of car parking right outside the shop.

Ohh dear made a special journey and wished we hadn't , 2 large fish mine was white flesh that tasted of nothing much and turned to mush when trying to pick it up, the wifes was off white and had a strong taste to it and also turned to mush when picking it up . theres no excuse for serving this kind of food we only went down the road to a lay by to eat them too so no long journey excuses

Fish & chips from here had become my guilty pleasure and I'd recommended the place to several friends. Sadly my visit yesterday will be my last. One medium-sized fish with rock-hard batter, a portion of pasty looking chips and a small carton of peas certainly did not justify the price of £11.80 Normally when I get home everything is hot and ready to eat but the latest offering had to go in the microwave, not what I expected at all. I can't justify paying that amount for fish & chips, even if they had been good quality. Sorry, you've lost my custom

Disappointed my order was missing the large sausage having drove a long way away to realise when getting back to accommodation. Unfortunately, to drive back to pick up would've cost me more than £1.50 on fuel.

Called in this dinner time first time I have ever visited, and it certainly won't be the last it was fantastic the food was amazing and price was very fair would highly recommend

I had just completed a 11 mile hike in the peak District, I was craving fish and chips and after passing through leek town centre, I saw a sign for this small fish and chip shop, I turned into the car park and ordered a chicken and mushroom pukka pie 😁. The price of the was good too. The ladies at the till were so friendly and my food arrived within a short amount of time. It was absolutely delicious. The pastry was perfectly done, and the pie was steaming when I removed the top of it. ♨️ The shop was really clean and once you order, the ladies ask you to kindly step out of the shop as you wait for your food to arrive due to covid 19 advice. This made me feel very comfortable. This is the best fish and chip shop that I have been to in years, and I thank the team who work there. 🙌✌️

Hi I popped in today for my 50th wedding anniversary and the chips are spot on . The ladies were lovely and sorted us out with are favoute meal. . Top chips and sausage. Great chippy well worth a visit. Thanks David
