My grandson loves the Chicken Korma, my favourite is the Chicken Maryland. Both HUGE portions but absolutely delicious. So good I had 3 meals in 6 days lol. Prices are excellent for the portion size and you are even given a discount if you pay cash!!! What a bargain!!

Always a good experience. Nan is huge, and I especially like the garlic with extra garlic variant.

Very tasty and fresh food. Naan was amazing! Hosts are so friendly and ready to help with your order of you're in doubt what exactly you want to choose.

Local takeaway and use maybe once every few weeks. Dishes are always hot, and food is decent and can be changed and adjusted to meet your needs, i.e. less chillies or more jotter etc.

A very friendly, clean place which serves quality food regardless of eating in or carryout... well priced when compared to others... only downside is there is very little parking available near the restaurant...

Oh my days! The food at the Ashmaan is beautiful. So fresh and tasty it was delicious. The service was second to none. The staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They even offered for us to take a doggy bag home. It was my first time here but I would highly recommend you try this place because I’ll certainly make a point of going back. They also deliver. You wont be disappointed if you try this place.

Absolutely terrible food and extremely expensive . Used to be a good place to eat , seem to cater more for take away now . Very quiet inside restaurant not the Cleanest and the food was worst Indian food we have had . Should be a take away only from now on the spark for sit down dining has vanished . So so disappointing for Edinburgh cost you get poor quality . Garlic nan was awful

More than wonderful, I loved it very much

20/2/24 I sat beside 2 auld dears from Bo'ness when i boarded the bus in Grangemouth & they were going shopping in Stirling & i told them i was going to Stirling too & asked them if they knew a friend that i went about with from Bo'ness & they said that they knew her & her family very well & i told them that she had died & had gone to Heaven & how she got their was by her faith in truly believing that Jesus died for sins. They also surprised me by telling me they were going for an Indian meal & i guessed the MAHARATA yds up King St. & i was right & told them it was a good restaurant, then they said we thought of trying the Indian Cottage which is easy walking distance from the Thistle ctre & i said it was even better & the last time i was in there my food came out, not just hot, but SIZZLING hot🔥 Sorry for diverging. When i left having the lovely thick soup & a coffee ☕ in CHESTERS 👍 i went into the Ashman well after 5pm & there were only a couple in there. The 3 staff i met & were served by were all very friendly & easy to talk with & you can read my comments on the pictures & the short video BUT one thing i noticed in other photos as well as mine, there seemed to be strong colours of dye added to the food - I might be wrong, but that's what it looked like to me. It was a good idea to have that bottle of Alcohol Gell on the table 😁 Please be aware - they don't open in the afternoons.

Guys if you want a fresh byriani this is the place to go or phone for a delivery it's melt in your mouth delicious 😋 my chips ruined the plate lol.. I've found my fave take away thanks people of Ashman family's 👍🍽️🎄

Staff were polite and friendly although they did have to warn us about the naan bread size. Toilets were clean and tidy Food was very nice and filling . The restaurant was clean and tidy and it was also very easy to find for someone who isn't from around here

Stunning restaurant and gorgeous food. The restaurant is family run and they are so nice to talk to. The food came out quick and tasted amazing, the naan was huge!!! Everything was very clean with hand sanitiser everywhere. Was very impressed and will definitely be back when I'm next working in this area 👌🏻

Updated review. Went a week ago. Food still amazing and greeted with a smile. However, only the owner trying to serve and clear tables, as well as handling take-out orders. Only 4 sit-in customers, so not bad, however, if there were more customers, I think service would've suffered. Also, it used to be BYOB, but now a dry restaurant. No alcohol served or allowed. Wish this was mentioned on the website or entrance. I'm not a big drinker, but enjoy a beer with a curry and my companion would've liked a glass of wine. Other table was also dissapointed. They do have a selection of alcohol free beer and wine, but even though these have come a long way since the dusty bottle of Kaliber at the back of the bar, they're still not very good. I'd happily order take-out from them, but won't be back for a sit-down meal with other equally good Indian restaurants close by.

Amazing quality food, decent portions and really good service. The constant collections / deliveries are a bit of a distraction in the main restaurant as it’s not separated off much so a little impact on Atmosphere. The food outweighs everything else…

This was the first time we had the ashman. When my partner called to let them know we where on way the guy on the fone was really anti on the phone but think it was just down to the phone was really nice when he got there. The rice portion is really small compared to the sauce containers and there not very hot.

Always take friends here and occasionally with my boys. Absolutely great in every way and reasonable as well

A lovely place to eat and run by lovely people. Our first time in Linlithgow (and indeed Scotland) and we were at a loss as to where to eat. Someone recommended The Ashmaan and we weren't disappointed. Delicious vegetable biryani for myself and a madras for my partner, along with a naan bread as almost as big as the table itself. As strangers in a strange land we were made to feel very at home. Would definitely visit again if visiting the area. Highly recommended.

Disappointed in this place. Really expensive for what is an average curry. Also, charging £1.25 extra for a 'hot' curry rather than a mild curry is really cheeky and a con. First time i've ever seen that in any restaurant and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Will just go to the other indian in Linlithgow next time. And the response below to my review from the owner proves my point further... complete cowboys. Obviously he cant defend the indefensible.

Great food and friendly service

My husband and I went to The Ashman for the first time in a while (COVID) and discovered you can't BYOB. We both had mixed Pakora, 2 different chicken curry dishes, 1 portion of rice and a nan. 2 small drinks (lemonade and cola). Curries were lovely but I counted how much chicken was in my curry - 9 small pieces - husband's was about the same. We both left feeling the same way - disappointed.

Had the biggest and best Garlic Nan ever. The curry was excellent and service was good, only downside was no alcohol was served although non alcoholic wines and beers available.

After a couple of disappointing meals from here a few months ago We tried the Ashman again on Saturday Much much better !

2nd time in a row the meals have been horrendous from here. Chicken was dry, tasteless and looked old, sauce was too thick & tasteless couldn't tell the difference between a dopiaza and a japauri. Chicken pakora was dry and 3 pieces were so hard I couldn't bite through them, rice was cold & nans tatsed like shop bought re-heats. Last time my son convinces me to give Ashman another chance, £43 wasted.

Went into the restaurant tonight. I've had a cpl of delivery's before and was tasty so thought give restaurant a try and boy we were not disappointed in anyway from the service when we arrived to to meal we had the lamb chilli bhuna and chicken do piazza the staff were beyond friendly and would highly recommend coming here we travelled from larbert to linlithgow for the meal I felt we travelled to India it was that good I would travel further just to have it again once again thank you to the staff for a wonderful amazing meal 😀

Got a delivery the other night, ordered pakora and a tandoori mix with South Indian garlic sauce which was phenomenal 👌

Fantasic meal and exceptional service. That good went twice in same week on a visit to Linlithgow from Aberdeen.. Pity they don't delivery to the Aberdeen area... Highly recommended

Updating after finally receiving my order. I used the ashmaan app to order and was informed that it would take 1hr 10 mins for delivery as it was Saturday night I waited an additional al 20 mins before phoning to confirm my order was recieved and hopefully on the way. The girl was polite and informed me the driver had just left with my order. It then took a further 40 mins for delivery by this point I was extremely hangry!! The food was tepid when it arrived but due to my insane hunger my partner and I demolished the lot. Tasty but worth the wait at that price? I'm not so sure.

Celebrated my daughter's 26 birthday last night at The Ashmann with my wife and our daughters boyfriend. Had a great time. Terrific food and atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent tasting food latge portions

It was probably one of the worst Indian take away’s I have ever had ! We ordered and paid for 6 poppadoms and only received 4 stale ones. The chutneys were at the least £1.55 each and were tiny tubs. The nan breads were cold. The chicken tikka masala tasted like chicken korma and the rest of the Indian was passable. Unlike me to complain but really won’t be going back here again. Not cheap either by any means and I don’t mind paying good money for good food !!

Always ordered takeaway from here, first time sitting in tonight. As always food and service superb. Thanks once again.

Nice food in a classic Indian Restaurant atmosphere. I'm a good trencherman but even I could not finish the tandoori mixed grill, tasty as it was. Arrive hungry! BYO booze which you can pick up from Sainsbury's just down the road.

Amazing place. First time there last weekend - table of 8 and the quality of service and food was outstanding. Exceptionally well priced and the fact it's bring your own bottle was a bonus! Best Indian in Central Scotland and it will be one we return to frequently now. I don't usually take time out to review places but this one highly deserves it.

The service was impeccable and I was really looking forward to trying here as I've heard so much about them. The food was a bit bland and just mediocre which was disappointing. Could not fault the staff though, really nice to everyone. Maybe I just tried the wrong dishes. I wanted to like it so much.

Arriving 15 mins early, would have expected the food to be hot. Had to be reheated. 70p for one popadom seems really mean, naan bread was truly bizarre. Even though it had to be reheated, food was decent (apart from the naan) but did not get value for money or the quality would have expected. Wish hadn`t bothered

Good food, lovely place, nice staff.

Easy to find? This was a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was a good mixture of open space but also with some more intimate seating. Staff were very professional but friendly. We were made to feel very welcome and at ease. Good help was given on what to choose and also guidance about portion size. There was a wide choice of items on the menu. The food arrived quickly and lived up to expectations. The naans were very impressive. Desserts were also available. This is also a halal restaurant. We spent a very relaxed time talking. When it was time to pay were were able to choose to make payment by card or cash.

Been to Ashmann on many occasions. Great meals and friendly service in a very pleasant modern surroundings. This restaurant is also busy with takeaway meals with orders being phoned in and collected. I think they do deliveries to surrounding area (including Bo'ness) that I overheard on this visit.

First takeaway from here as recently moved into the area. Average at best, the curry was very bland and poppadums tasted funny. Also £3 delivery is a bit steep and they charge extra if you want to pay by card... won't be back

After living in Birmingham for 45 years its been really hard to find great indian food in scotland... The ashmaan has exceeded my expectations...10/10 Staff very friendly an polite 10/10 Food was amazing with VERY big portions 10/10 Price 10/10 Will i go here again Most definitely this will be my new night out indian restaurant. If u have not been here it is a must go to place.. One word is to bring your own wine or beer as not sevred on site... Joe

Got 2 takeaway curries from this place and both have been very watery and almost taste like nothing. Very disappointing for the price that they are, however everything else that I've had from the menu so far has been good.

The Linlithgow Walking Football Club had our Christmas Curry night at the Ashmaan and were not disappointed. Met by nice friendit staff who took our order and served us in a nice timely fashion which couldn't have been easy as there was 20 of us there. The food was excellent and the generous portions went down a treat. Great atmosphere probably caused by bring your own bottle house rules which certainly added to the banter. Well done to all the staff to contributing to a really good night out. Fabulous night out and would throughly recommend the Ashmaan for a good night out.

We have used the Ashmaan before but only their take out service. As we have always enjoyed the food, we decided to sit in for a change. Once again, the food was second to none. The service was fantastic with very attentive staff. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is down to the Ashmaan not being able to serve alcohol. This isn't a deal breaker for me to visit, just that their drinks offering was very limited. I will be back regardless!!!!!
