This used to be our local when we stayed at Easter Bankton and i had been to a few party evenings. It was pretty average then. Not now what a transformation. We went again because we received a gift voucher.Friday night is lovely with live music and a lovely atmosphere. The food is nice.Great fish and chips. We like walking so now often pop in for a coffee or a cider. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. It has become our local once again.Well done to all the staff.

Bankton House could so easily be a 5 star. It just managed to scrape past a 3 star for me because of its gorgeous rooms and lovely garden. Principal problem was no breakfast. Secondary problem was a lack of obvious signage explaining hotel access, tea and coffee making facilities. I woke very early in serious need of tea and breakfast due to a gastrointestinal medical problem I have. Had to pack my bag and take it with me in case I got locked out as there was no front door key. Then had to find someplace for tea and food. Ended up in a Greggs in Livingston Centre which was a lifesaver. On my return, I was locked out and the cleaner didn’t answer the door. I rang the nail clinic which has a ground floor office in the hotel and they gave me the door code. Little details which caused big problems and are so easily sorted. What should Bankton House do? If it can’t supply breakfast on site it needs to tell customers what’s available off site at check in. And it needs to sort its check in information on room facilities, front door management etc Would I go back? Yes. Only because I know the avoidable flaws and pitfalls!

First time here and we’ll absolutely be back! What a little hidden gem in Livingston. We had lunch with our daughter on Sunday and the food was excellent and the service really attentive. We ate in the conservatory and it has a lovely atmosphere with really nice views of the gardens. I wish they did brunch on the weekends but the lunch menu had something for everyone including the kids. Can’t wait to go back!

Been a couple of times now, the bistro has good quality fare at reasonable prices, the menu is a little limited, but what is there is very well presented with great service from the staff. Also really handy for Livingston South station making it simple to get to without a car. The lounge bar has a nice atmosphere and is quite lively with a mixed crowd. Will be going back.

Restaurant: A hidden Livingston gem. Booked a table for 3 to eat on a recent Friday night. Food was exceptional and at no point were we rushed by the front of house team. Would highly recommend.

Went for a meal at the bistro with my husband and little one. Lovely setting with wood burner to keep us cosy. Relaxing jazz music and fairy lights created a nice ambience. Impressive menu and food was excellent and good value. Really nice cocktails too. Staff were attentive and made us feel very welcome. Would recommend 😊

We had a very pleasant meal in the conservatory with the usual friendly and attentive staff. My wife and I both had burgers (one chicken and one beef) which were excellent and good value. There was also a live musician which added to atmosphere.

I had a delicious festive afternoon tea today with my mum using a voucher I had been given for my birthday. The staff were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The restaurant was lovely and cosy with gorgeous Christmas decorations. The food was fantastic - different from your usual afternoon tea with a lovely cup of soup to start followed by some festive savoury bites and delicious sweet treats. Would definitely recommend.

Wow.. I had the vanilla ice cream with my waffle.. Best ice cream i have ever tasted. Caramel sauce and fruit. For a family it can be expensive. Definately enough to share. Staff very polite. Area very clean and well presented.
