Great pub. Not a big selection of snacks but if you want a drink in a friendly local this is the place.

The roaring wood stove was a welcome sight on cold and wet day. Rhymney export was also v good.

A visit to watch the rugby 🏉 it's a strange set up due to being an old video shop, Rumney Brewery beer sold. Staff and locals always friendly and reasonably priced drinks.

incredibly rude staff that target young girls and accuse people of being underage even with ID! very rude and not welcoming at all if you present yourself differently to the average person. Let alone the poor decor, falling apart and the smell of the bar. dreadful

Nice pub, mix of young & old. Horse racing during the day, live music some evenings and ukulele Monday evening. Good Duke box good staff avoid the landlord. 05/10/22 Update. New management has thoroughly improved the place. Lovely atmosphere good ales at a very reasonable price. Live music, karaoke, lots of other things to do during weeknights too! If one evening you're looking for a happening 😁 pay it a visit.

Considering the premises were a blockbusters, this micro pub has a wonderful atmosphere.

Lovely local boozer. Decent cask beer, cobs and snacks available. Like having a beer in a converted video rental store... In the best possible way.

The 'open mic' consisted of one girl singing Disney songs. She was a wonderful singer (great job) but definitely not an open mic vibe. The ale wasn't great and the pub stank. Probably won't be back.

I haven't been there in the evenings but I have been there a few times whilst shopping on Albany Rd. It's a quiet venue that has friendly staff and clientele.

This is one of Cardiff's best pubs! The Rhymney beer goes down a treat, and the staff are great. Sure, it's a little rough around the edges in here, but does that really matter?

A fun little pub in the Roath area of Cardiff here. Cheap drinks and a fun night with the local vinyl scene playing some top old school tunes. Don't let looks decieve you, it is a fun night to be had here. Friendly staff and some local characters. You only live once, give the place a whirl.

Once you get past the fact that it can look like a Wetherspoons with old fellas boozing at 11am, this is a great pub! The landlord supports local live music which regularly includes Welsh Language bands playing. Above all of this, you will find the finest pint of ale I have ever tasted - Rhymney Bitter or Export are equally as good. Coming from a man who has drank Brains Bitter for 30 years, it says a lot!!

Very strange place. The landlord is very nervous and jumpy. The bar staff are very young and way too smiley. The whole bar area and towards the back smells of urine.

Cheap, decent beer, interesting array of characters

Initially it feels like a very good old fashioned boozer. The beer is good, the staff are amazingly friendly but some "locals" are a bit too dismissive of visitors. All in all a nice evening drinking place.

I'm a regular here. This place is one of the nicest establishments I have ever had the pleasure to be part of! Seriously look out for when the music is on. You have to get to know it. If you don't you'll miss out.

Stumbled across this place by accident as it wasn't obvious. Good value real ales, friendly service. TV's showing football. Saw I drumkit set up towards the rear so I guess they have bands on. Felt like I was in someone's lounge.

I've performed here a couple of times with a band. It's always been nice; I have nothing to criticise about it!

Very friendly, excellent beer, great value. Went there for a pre gig drink - The Globe music venue is just down the road.

Fantastic, friendly small pub with regular DJ nights and live gigs. Owned by the Rhymney Brewery there's some great local ales on offer.
