The Acid Bar SWG3 in Glasgow City

Me siento obligado a escribir una crítica por primera vez con respecto al personal del bar. Estaba tranquilo claro que eran muy jóvenes y nuevos en el trabajo, así que no los culpo, pero les tomó 5 minutos servir a un cliente, ya que seguían preparando cervezas que no eran "perfectas", a pesar de que la gente dijo que no les importaba. Estábamos esperando por años y mi amigo que estaba luchando y necesitaba un poco de agua fría tuvo que irse y se perdió algo del evento debido a esto. Esto no debería haber sucedido, debería haber habido más personal, ya que nunca antes lo había experimentado en un concierto de esta magnitud. O al menos tener a alguien allí que tenga más experiencia. Realmente espero que esto no sea un suceso regular ya que arruinó el flujo de la noche para nosotros.

Limited seating. For being in a venue it lacked any vibe. The only zero alcohol option was Heineken (if bars could venture past Heineken zero or Becks blue that would be great, there's loads of good low alc options out there now). Also don't even do basic snacks. Given there is no other eateries nearby this wouldve been welcome. From what I saw prices were average for gigs. Lack of options meant there wasn't anything I wanted. Customer missed.

Honesty if you’ve not been already you need to go for bongos bingo. We went for movie themed night and it was amazing. Great atmosphere and so much fun!

Went to see Hard fi. First time at SWG3. Great venue, nice staff, reasonable. Will look forward to coming back.

Came here for the tenants trade show the venue is very off the beaten track so be prepared to do a lot of walking especially if your coming from the underground, the venue itself is cool and quirky with an industrial modern feel! The staff were helpful friendly and accommodating, my only complaint was the loos were a mess no toilet checks were carried out all day at the event as the sheet Cleary stated and the women’s toilets were extremely messy!

dreadful sound, band were great but there were 7 of them and we heard 3. Really badly designed bar/gig area and wont be returning no matter who is playing ! let down to glasgow ! Get your sound sorted out as you have some good acts coming up but it doesn't cut it !Pish !

This is a big scam - they take the money for tickets then you come at your time and they don’t have anything left on the menu - they didn’t even have forks and knives available - it’s very dirty and poorly managed - and as you buy the ticket beforehand they seem not to care - it’s a big scam

Went here for a gig and what a great venue for it. The bar was continuously busy however the bar staff served efficiently so you didn't have to wait for long for your drink which was fab and they were reasonably priced.

I went to bongo bingo at swg3 and what an amazing night. The event organisers did a fantastic job at keeping you on your feet to a mixture of music and fun between the bingo numbers being called. The Atmosphere was phenomenal and the Dj and dancers kept the crowd fully entertained. The only disappointment was the venom bar upstairs. £11 for a pre made venom with very little alcohol. I had 6 and a friend of mine had 8, far to expensive a night to go home sober as a judge. My sister and friend experienced the same at other bongo bingo events at swg3. Both drinking venoms all night with no alcohol effects. As these drinks sit pre-made along the back of the bar you cannot see what alcohol the staff are putting into these £11 drinks. I would highly recommend bongos bingo but stick to the bottom bar and order bottled drinks.

Went to an Ashe concert here. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. They were great at helping when people passed out and handing out water. It’s all standing venue with an access platform. There’s a huge well staffed bar, only waited 30s to get a drink. The only thing that drops my rating down is the location. It’s kinds in the middle of nowhere transport wise. If you don’t come by car it’s difficult to get there and back. I ended up getting the subway to Patrick and walking. It’s not a long walk but with the wind it was freezing.

Attended an event last night with some friends- excellent service in particular Joe on the bar and Heidi in the cloakroom were phenomenal all night- thanks!

Loved this place! Amazing regulations set up for your safety, very well staffed. Great vibe, atmosphere surrounded by awesome graffiti. Easy to order via their app. This place is properly organised with superb social distancing. It's just cool, go and hang put there with friends or family!

In a nutshell, superb!! We visited swg3 glasgow on Saturday to go see the fab Sherlocks as we had booked to see Lana del Rey and she,d cancelled the tour, rather than waste our paid for hotel we checked out other gigs in the area, Swg3 appealed to us and we,d seen the mint Sherlocks before, what a class venue, superb sound system and loads of room for the crowd to rock their nuts off. I,d slipped on way to the gig and battered my shoulder, the beutiful security Susanne came to my aid and i was treat like royalty, the paramedic was superb, everything about the place was first class, in fact im glad lana cancelled, we cant wait to return, 5 star venue and 5 star staff, everything beyond excellent, thankyou for taking care of us, even putting us in the disabled section, i cannot praise this fab venue enough, what a gig and what a fab night,and my shoulder is on the mend, thankyou so so much from both my partner Lord Clive and me, Glasgow, your the best xxx

£30 per head for Chinese NY menu,add in 3 cocktails and a beer. Bill was £100. Waited half an hour for a cocktail after asking for it twice. Asked to keep same bowls from previous course , served second course while i was still eating first after being sitted for around 10 mins. Was really looking forward to this. However value for money i felt was extremely poor, food and portions were not reflective of a £30 per head menu. Massively disappointing experience.

I was looking to hold a charity event with around 1000 guests and emailed and called several times and nobody got back to me. After being persistant on the phone I managed to speak to a guy who told me that Meryl would get back to me and is usually busy. I then left this for over a week and still Meryl had not go back to me. I called again and sent several emails to the email addresses shown online and also to Meryl's address I was given and still awaiting a call. I dont know what it is but the customer service from this place is horrific and to get no aknowledgement at all when looking to make a booking is terrible. SWG3 can shove their venue right up the a@se now and I hope your 2020 is a disaster year for you....

First time in SWG3, went to see Big Country and the Skids. Excellent venue for a gig, great sounds. Plenty of staff behind the bar, so although it’s busy you don’t wait long for a libation, not overly expensive either. Look forward to my next visit.

the current pop up restaurant at Acid Bar is Malaysian. lots of great choices. run by Julies Kopitiam who are soon to open another place in Glasgow centre.up a couple of steps with full choice bar the show (Tokyo Myers) is on the second floor via steps. bar with draght beers etc

Went to see Swedish rocker Opeth at swg3 lovely venue good bar I shall return. Support band The Vintage Caravan were excellent too real classic rock vibe Plan your journey though had a long walk back to central Glasgow after gig .

Came here for a rave to see green velvet. Friend asked the bouncer if he had saw a jacket he was very cheeky so I said to him “excuse me she just wants her jacket” he replied “sorry PAL but I don’t speak to girls wearing primark makeup” absolutely disgusted and made me feel paranoid the full night. Not very good especially with all the awareness around mental health and saying this to a young 18 year old is appalling. He was very a manager of the bouncers as one of the others had to apologise for his bosses behaviour. I text SWG3 on Facebook they saw, but no reply. Says a lot for the company when they hire such dreadful and insensitive people.
