The food is always excellent here, and the customer service from Lauren is always knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. For some reason the restaurant is usually empty, which is a shame as it's a lovely place. Hard to say a favourite dish, as they're all great - the salads, fish cakes, curries, stir fries are all recommended.

Consistently excellent food, that is great value - particularly as it's BYO. Hard to believe it's always empty! Tough to pick a favourite from the menu, but the fish cakes, veg tempura, papaya salad, stir fry duck and the masoman curry are particularly good.

One of the hidden gem in London, love the Thai dishes especially the Thailand fried rice with prawn and deep fried whole sea bass with sauce

Food was very good and afordadble - cooked by actual Thai chefs.

Absolutely a beautiful restaurant, the cuisine is authentic, really surprising to see such a beautiful restaurant empty, but recommended if someone wants to enjoy some good food in peace.

Opening hours says 5-10pm. How ever on 2 instances before 9 pm we’ve been told dine in is closed. The staff (Girl who takes the orders) is very upsetting. Made us feel like we shouldn’t have been there. We love the food there, thats what makes us keep on going back to the place. Wish the staff was a bit professional.

Okay had the opportunity to visit the restaurant and to be honest the food is great. Service is good but atmosphere is lacking. My fav was the beef salad. Truly love this place. Wish it was more popular

My little secret honest review as someone who is not a customer. I know the head since a long time. She is doing meals for me on a regularly basis as I have no time to cook. I am Thai and we have Thai Food stalls in London, and as a Thai Foodie I know what is good and she is one of my favourites. Can't say much about the location and premise but in regards to Thai food taste and authenticity this is one of my recommendations

Landed there by chance, as there was a private event in the other better reviewed Thai around the corner. It did look quite sad from the outside, but we still decided to give it a try. They really could work on their looks. Inside it was quite okay. The waitress was lovely, the chefs were both thai which was quite nice. The food was very affordable and yummi. Very good price/quality.

We happened to stumble across this restaurant on a Saturday evening, it was very quiet inside but decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. The food was sublime, authentic Thai food and really good service. We will be back and would highly recommend.

Ordered through UberEats! We chose the Vegetarian set menu for 2. Very generous portion sizes, travelled well and most importantly very delicious food. Thai Red Curry was an absolute knockout, so so delicious! Will definitely be ordering again! It's quite far from us but has truly become our go to Thai!

had dinner there very late around 9:45 and no customer thought that it's a terrible restaurant. Ordered a fish cake which was a bit overcooked but tasty. Overall the food is cheap and the quality is decent. Deserve higher rate at least 4.0 Surely will be back next time

Not entirely sure where all the 5 star reviews have come from. Red Thai curry was watery and had no background or spice flavours - it was just super sweet. Noodles with garlic, chilli and Thai basil had absolutely no flavour - just chilli heat. Oh and grease. They were the greasiest noodles ever and it’s not a fried noodle dish! No garlic, no Thai basil. Chicken was not great. Chicken money bags were clearly frozen and mass produced. Got free Thai crackers - they were stale so clearly we’re giving them away as they had gone off. We live round the corner from Thailander and in 5 years have never ordered from here. Decided to take a punt and read recent google reviews which were all good. Seriously. Again not sure where they came from . Save your money and don’t bother. Food took over an hour to be prepared and then the driver waited at the restaurant for another 30 mins. Average food at best.

This review is for delivery - I have never been into the restaurant. We have been ordering from Thailander for a few years now and have not yet had a bad dish! The food is not halal. The owners of the restaurant also own the pub next door. If you are Muslim do not order the meat dishes. The restaurant is falsely claiming that the meat they serve is halal.

if you like to dine out in a nice establishment without breaking the bank this is your place. The food feels fragrant and fresh and the portion sizes are great. Most notably my server this young girl in the front was sweet, attentive and helpful.

So last night as I was walking home, a young man handed me a leaflet for this Restaurant. As I had never tried Thai food before, I asked the gentlemen what he recommended as I'm a spice eating person. The Young man recommended the number 20. Phad Krapow with Chicken with the Thai Rice and ohhhh myy goddddd it was one of the nicest food I have ever tried! The spices were just right and it tasted amazing, the portion sizes were great and affordable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! One of the best in Stratford.

I have been coming to this restaurant for a while and the food just keeps getting better and especially now the restaurant is under new management with lovely staff the deliveries are rapid where as I used to wait abit before but it has always been worth the wait my No.1 go to take away

THE RESTAURANT STOLE MY MONEY!! I placed my order at 7:15pm Thailander accepted the order on the JustEat app and stated that the delivery would be at 8:50pm. They then sent a text via JE with a revised delivery time of 9:55pm. At 10:30 no food had arrived so I telephoned and they said my meal was nearly ready and they would compensate for the lateness with a bottle of wine. Between 10:45 and 11:30 I tried to call them but no answer. I went to cancel the order as it hadn’t been delivered and found that the restaurant had marked my meal as delivered even though this was not the case. I have tried speaking to Thailander but they now deny getting the order but at the same time won’t refund my money. JustEat tried to negotiate on my behalf but Thailander refuse to refund my money. I consider this as Theft! DO NOT ORDER TAKE AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!!

I ordered a prawn noodle dish which was ok and prawn tempura but when I bit into it.. it was chicken!! I do not eat meat so I was appalled. I rang up and they weren’t very helpful!

Went in and ordered 2 chicken dishes and rice to takeaway, when i opened the container at home the dish did not represent the ingredients on the menu. I carefully ordered something a dish that didnt have mushrooms and nuts, but what i received included both these and the dish covered in black pepper. I called the restaurant and the chef admitted she added these ingredients even though they were not supposed to be included. The dish was changed and a fresh dish ordered but the replacement was also covered in black pepper and bland to the taste. Wont be going back there

So my sister and I frequently ordered Thailander via just eat and found that although delivery time was quite long, the food was tasty and fresh. I noticed Thailander on UberEats and the delivery time kept getting pushed back (could be to do with UberEats). The food however, the chicken in the Phad Thai tasted old and looked old. It certainly wasn’t fresh. The container was half full, which softened the blow when I threw it away. It’s a shame that the quality has gone downhill because this used to be a good place for a Thai takeaway. £1.50 for a can of Diet Coke that also didn’t arrive is a rip off. Will not be ordering again.

We had the food delivered and the curries were by far the best. The noodles hardly had any chicken or vegetables and the papaya salad had too much liquid floating about. Was not a fan of the spring rolls.

Pedí una comida para llevar que tardó más de 2 horas en ser entregado. No me disculpé cuando llamé para preguntar dónde estaba mi pedido. Cuando finalmente llegó mi comida, el pollo no estaba bien cocido, así que se metió directamente en el cubo. No volveré a ordenar en este lugar nunca más.

Hace unos años este era un buen restaurante. Visitamos recientemente y quedamos muy decepcionados. Que se concentran en el comercio para llevar. La decoración sigue allí, pero la iluminación es muy brillante y el ruido de los extractores de la cocina, y el bar de al lado es inquietante. El servicio no era bueno. Tuvimos que pedir un vaso para cerveza embotellada. Tomó varios recordatorios y 50 minutos antes me dijeron que no tenian el té de jazmín que pedí! La camarera estaba ocupado tomando pedidos teléfono y recoger los pedidos desde la cocina. El servicio de restaurante sufrido. Fuimos en la noche del sábado. Sólo tres mesas ocupadas.

Vivo cerca y he comido en Thailander innumerables veces. El restaurante en sí casi siempre está desierto, pero hacen un ajetreado servicio de entrega y entrega. I have been going to this restaurant for several years now, visiting now and again, and went again last night. As always, the food was good and well priced, but the sour, rude waitress ruined the evening for my friend and I. She didn't say please, thank you - or sorry about the fact that my starter was served about 15 minutes before my friend's, which meant that we effectively ate in shifts! We were the only diners in the restaurant and she virtually ignored us. I'm afraid I will never go back.

It was early evening when we me and my wife had the meal so very quite, the restaurant is very nicely decorated and a nice Thailand feel about the decor, there could have been some nice thi Music to cut the silence and give some atmosphere.

Waited 2 hours for a delivery, rang 3 times to repeatedly told it will be 20 minutes. When it did arrive the order was wrong-we were given chicken when we paid for beef.

Some of the best Thai I have had, including in Thailand. Most of their business seems to be takeaway, not eat-in, but totally recommended!

I live very local to this place and I always wonder why it is always empty. The food is delicious, the prawns are huge, loads of veges and the curries very HOT!! Defn recommend for somewhere quiet where you don't have to wait for a table.

Down this way on business and spotted this place , looks nice in comparison to some of the places along this street . Soft shell crab tempura was a little heavy on the batter but the beef dish and fried rice that I had was beautiful . Obviously freshly cooked and full of flavour .

I ordered online and collected. The seafood noodle dishes we ordered were nice and their portion sizes were reasonable. Not greasy, but if you know your seafood, it will be evident from your first bite that they used frozen prawns due to the hard texture. Why would you expect any better from a takeaway masking itself as a restaurant in Leyton? For the price, portion size and quality -Noodles are a safe bet if that's what you're only after.On to the starter, the chicken satays were uncooked, meaning we had to bin them. See picture for the pinkish poultry that I mistakenly dipped in a peanut sauce and had to spit out, imagine that in your mouth. Urgh, completely put me off my food. The Thai fishcake was slightly greasy but tasty. I made the mistake of ordering their Thai seafood yum salad. For £8.50 I got half a carton of warm salad and felt a little ripped off. Obviously from frozen, the mussels were overwhelmingly smelly and tasted awful. We couldn't finish the salad as the mussell smell ruined it and that too went into the bin.I spent 5 minutes trying to get ring them to get through to complain and to see if they had the integrity to, as a minimum, acknowledge they messed up on the chicken satay, and to offer to send me a replacement. That's what I expect from every food establishment that has integrity, and that take pride and responsibility for taking money in returning for quality food.Instead I got an answer you would expect as if you just tried a FREE sample of their chicken satay or some sort of taste testing session. A man with an Indian accented English responded "Thank you for your feedback which I'll pass on to the chef, we're sorry you were served uncooked chicken". I was hugely disappointed by that response. I wanted what I paid for but I'm not going to argue with them if they've proven in their reply that they have no sense of customer service or integrity to deliver on what was paid.First and definitely the last time I'll go there.

They happily cater for vegetarians . Ordered a veg coconut soup was bland compared to what i'm used to and very small for the price 5.00 for a small bowl. Even in central London you get more for your money! The service was pretty shocking to be honest. I was the only person in there on a Saturday evening and this is probably the reason why . I ordered a vegetable noodle dish and it said it was veg and beancurd. When it arrived it had no tofu. When i asked the pretty young non-Thai (prob Eastern European waitress) who was very sweet but she had NO idea what beancurd was . She went into the kitchen to find out - I said it wasnt a problem and i'd just eat it but not really impressed as she didnt go to any effort to either get some tofu added or at the end no money was taken off. Also the dish was very hot and had to ASK for my water glass to be filled up. Very poor as i already stated was the only person in there. There is also an older Thai woman that just sits at the back like an old matriarch . She could see all what was going on but could not be bothered to intervene . They did not even deliver good service let alone go the extra mile. Just paid my bill and left saying i wasnt happy . Will not be going back and suggest you dont as there are countless better other places to go!!!!

I live just around the corner from here and have eaten here on a number of occasions. The food is of a good standard. We have had issues with the staff though in terms of their language skills. Last time our waitress couldn't even understand "red wine" despite us saying it several times, pointing it out on the menu and then in the cabinet... she then proceeded to bring white to the table! The taste of the food is excellent- very authentic and I love their sticky rice. It is average value for the area and what it is, I wouldn't say expensive but not budget either for this kind of food.

Visited with a group of friends on a Thursday evening. Between us we had fishcakes, chicken satay, prawn rolls, fish, duck and chicken dishes. All were very good. I had a fantastic green Thai chicken curry with coconut rice. No alcohol licence currently but they are happy for you to bring your own. Nice Thai themed decor, friendly service, reasonable prices. Not sure why they aren't busier, although there did seem to be a few coming in to collect takeaways.

We was staying in stratford London for the weekend for our anniversary so used tripadvisor to find a restaurant for an anniversary meal and the thailander had good reviews so I picked that one, Well as we was walking up to it we thought it had closed down and nearly walked away but there door is the small one at the end when we got seated the waitress told us they wasn't allowed to serve alcohol as there licence has ran out and waiting for new one, Food was ok not as brilliant as everyone was making out but each to there own but if we in the area well will not be going back again wasn't the best anniversary meal we got a burger on the way back to hotel.

We were staying in the nearby marlin apartments and found this place using the tripadvisor app. When we walked in, I was a little unsure, but when we saw the menu we were convinced. There is an excellent selection and all at reasonable prices. The service was at a good pace, but the lady serving could probably do with some training. Portions are large and you will not go hungry! Very tasty food and made freshly. We will be back next time we are in Stratford.

It's great to have an authentic Tai Restaurant so local. We love the food here. Only problem is that they really need to sort out their delivery times. It's quicker to go and eat in the restaurant then place an order.

We were staying in Stratford for the week end and after eating here on the Friday, went back again on the Sunday evening. The food is delicious - fresh and flavoursome. The slow cooked beef was melt in the mouth; the chicken Pad Thai great. The green curry had a kick without being too hot. Service was faultless too. It was very quiet both nights so I assume they make their money from the takeaway side of the business. I've never been to Thailand but I hope when I do, the food tastes like this. Would definitely go again.

We moved to east london recently and go to the thailander regularly. Really liked the dishes we had so far (the fishcakes for starters are my current favourite) Authentic food in a newly refurbished surrounding with nice wood carvings. The staff of this family run business is very friendly and service is good. I look forward to the opening of the thailander bar later this year. Keep up the good work thailander!

I need to write this review straight away after finishing my take away. It took a bit longer to get the food than expected but the quality makes up for that. One of the best Tom Yum I have had in the UK, just a bit odd when I found onions in it but still wonderful authentic flavour. Som Tum and my green curry were great as well as I could feel the freshness of the ingredients. Definitely will come here again!

Since the refurbishment it seems the food got even better! We got both a take away and a dinner in and quality was outstanding. We are only worried that they might close since it is never very busy... Ingredients are very fresh and the food is well balanced and delicious. Highly recommended!

We use Thailander all the time for a take away treat. Probably once a fortnight. The food is tasty and a good price.However, we have just waited over 2 hours for our takeaway to turn up, and we're still waiting.We will not be buying from these guys again. Ever.

Have gotten takeaway from here a couple of times now. The food is consistently amazing. Though the service is terrible. The first time we ordered it took well over an hour for them to deliver. The second time; when we had not received our order are 1.5 hour we called to see what was happening, we were assured it was on the way (we live very close), when it still had not arrived 40minuties later, we called again and it was clear that they had forgotten our order. 20 minutes later they arrived, one of the dishes was wrong. However the food was great. Shame about the service.

We found this place by mistake and we took a chance. It was the best decision we've made! We had the best Pad Thai and the best Tom Yum soup. It takes a while for the food to come but that's because it's made right then and there. The waiter was super nice and the owner as well. The prices are really good and the whole atmosphere is nice and relaxing. We went back the day after and we were as excited as the day before. Actually we were so in love with this place that we ordered take out for New Year's Eve as my husband was sick with the flu. Well, believe it or not, the TomYum soup made him feel better and the morning after he was well. We dream about their great food and as soon as we get back to London, we'll stop by.

I found this restaurant out of nowhere. I was a little apprehensive at first but I had an urge to eat some Thai food so I thought I'd give this place a go. From the outside the place doesn't look that great but the interior was actually quite quite snazzy. The service was good to excellent, the owner was very welcoming. In terms of food, the starters were a treat, I ordered a mix of spring rolls, chicken satay, prawn toast and some corn thing. Loved it, wanted to order more but thought I better wait for the mains. For the mains I ordered special anna and my friend ordered pad Thai. I managed to have a bit of both. The special anna dish was really succulent, its basically chicken mixed with a nice tomato sauce. The pad thai was the tastiest pad Thai I have had in a while. I also ordered the same pad thai for takeout a week later (not the same but still nice).For desserts, I ordered banana fritters with some mango ice cream. Would recommend the mango ice cream without doubt. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for Thai cuisine in and around the Stratford/Maryland area.

We were staying in Stratford as we were attending a wedding and were looking for somewhere to eat when we stumbled upon this little gem. The food was excellent and my favourite dish (Tom Kha Gai) did not let me down. Absolutely delicious!

We came across the Thailander restaurant and were not expecting anything marvellous. But how wrong we were! The food was excellent and among one of the best Thai meals that I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend it to anybody around the Stratford/Maryland area who is after some Thai cuisine.
