Scrumptious food as always tonight from this excellent Thai / Asian takeaway. Even my relatives always want to order from Thai Shack when they come to visit Rawtenstall. Great variety of dishes and lovely staff

Absolutely stunning food as usual! I’m never disappointed when I get home with food from the “Thai shack” great service and great food!

I'm always really enjoyed eating at Thai Shack and have for many years but the attitude from staff tonight was horrendous. Booked a table 3 weeks ago, the girl who was asked by another member of staff to process it seemed inexperienced and new and failed to ask for our name and number till I promted her. On arrival today with 2 friends who had traveled some distance to eat with us, we were told they don't take booking as it's foodie Friday and essentially called us liars.. There was no apology and the attitude extremely poor. Such a shame from what previously has been such an enjoyable experience.

We're new to the area and have been busy trying all the local restaurants! Thai Shack was on our list being huge lovers of Thai Food! We wasn't disappointed. The food was delish and tasted very authentic. Kay, the business owner, was so lovely, she was very welcoming! We had a great time and will definitely be going back. Thanks again Kay for the lovely service and amazing food. :-)

This place is absolutely amazing. The flavours are so divine. It's proper Thai food so if you are scared of the heat, it might be worthwhile letting the staff know beforehand. We have been here a number of times now and never been disappointed. Everything is cooked fresh and served piping hot. They have a small bar for drinks and serve Singha on the tap. Also have a selection of Oriental beers in bottles. Definitely worth a visit if you are near Rawtenstall market where it's located.

The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was so fragrant and tasted great on so many levels. Recommend the jasmine rice with chicken and the tomyum soup. I can't say enough.... thank you!!!

Has to be the most friendly, honest, quality and warm establishment in the area! Nothing is to much trouble for the staff or owners! The food quality and service is exceptional. You have to pay a visit to appreciate

Excellent food, service ,staff highly recommend! you won’t be disappointed!! The spring rolls and chicken wings are a personal favourite for a starter, the khao pad is also brilliant washed down with a lovely cold pint of Singha.

Had red Thai curry on Saturday, better than some posh restaurants that we have been to, fantastic delicious food. Will be back soon, thanks guys.

Amazing food, great people!!! The food is so tasty. I regularly pop down to the indoor Thai shack bar for a nice G&T in the indoor bar, and some salt and pepper wings on a Saturday afternoon! The chef, Colin always makes my special chicken and king prawn Kra Pow - my favourite dish with a kick!

Fresh, delicious wholesome food with generous portions in the centre of Rawtenstall. Thank you for my yummy chicken pad thai, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love this place and it’s friendly staff, and great atmosphere, and more importantly the Lab Guy is best meal in the world. I have it medium coz it can be fierce but at medium it truly is amazing. Penang also awesome. In fact the food the idea and the staff combination is Awesome !!! Thursday night is not complete without a Thai shack !

Expensive takeaway for the portion sizes. Prawn toast and spring rolls over fried. Satay chicken was very thin pieces of chicken. Food was very average for the cost. Glad we’ve tried it but probably won’t go back.

Recently visited Thai Shack to see how it compared to its close neighbours at Rawtenstall market, the excellent Tahina for vegan food and Pizza box for, you guessed it, super Pizza. Not surprised to find it was superb. Lovely Thai food and good size portions, another great string to Rawtenstalls bow. A great place in a great little town for eating and drinking.

Just showed up, very busy as first week back open, could see why - the food was AMAZING. Staff apologised for the wait but no need ... it was definitely worth the wait. Will certainly be returning soon.

Oh wow! Just had the most delicious takeaway. Hubby said how come we’ve not been here before. And the trendy Cafe Bar looks so inviting. Will eat in next time with a beer. 100% recommend. Try it...if you like Thai cuisine you’ll love it!

Not really for me. We have eaten from there twice now, the first time it was lovely and hot and cooked to perfection but unfortunately the second time it was only warm and felt like we were given left overs.

Amazing food! Been here several times and will be back for more. The food is full of flavour, a nice menu to choose from and friendly service. My one improvement would be that the special main that I had tonight (steak in the thai salad dressing) should be made a regular on the menu as it was one of the best Thai dishes I have had in a long time!

I fancied some Thai food but couldn't be bothered with a trip to Manchester just for it on the nighy. So I decided to try the Thai Shack. I asked friends and family if they had tried it. No and yes they responded respectively. My friend said it was expensive but never tried. Family said it was expensive for what you get, but food is OK.I put in the order and was advised to pick it up at 5.30pm having called at 5pm. I got there about 5.35pm and ended up waiting until nearly 6pm for my food in the freezing cold. Not impressed.I was also not impressed that they stuff the Pad Thai in a smaller than small takeout box.The Thai crackers were perhaps my favourite (very nice). The free item for orders over £30. But the rest of the food was great too, but the prices they charge for a shop in Rawtenstall is excessive.

just passing after collecting our car from previous night! so we decided we would try it, as we were browsing the menu the lady asked if we wanted to 'sit in' As we didnt know that was an option we agreed and was led to the old inside market behind the stall, a lovely little bar with reclaimed tables n chairs awaited us, a few people were at the small Bar having drinks and we was seated nearby in a quiet corner, drinks served and meal not long after, which was excellent, authentic Thai Dishes here in Rawtenstall, lovely people, lovely food.... worth a try

This place is my all time favourite. Lab guy and garlic naan. Thursdays can’t come round fast enough.

Wow, what a find this place is, had a really pants sort of day and driving past this place was a real find. Really friendly staff, quick service for really tasty food with plenty of flavour and a bit of a lip smacking kick. Of course the problem was I made the mistake and told my wife about it, so guess what, we’ll be both coming next time.Top tip, eat it as soon as possible for ultimate flavour.

I’m a returning customer, the food is great, very authentic tastes of Thailand, cooked in a cabin just off the highsteet of rawtenstall. The ladies that cook the food are happy and very friendly and always make conversation with me when I’m there. In my opinion the portions are on the small side for the prices they charge, although this doesn’t stop me from going back there. Good food good staff slightly high prices.

After a making a deliberate effort to travel to Rawtenstall for a Thai Shack take away and having read the reviews we were disappointed with the outcome. We opted for ‘special’ dishes at £10 each, a little overpriced we thought for a take away, but had high hopes.Portions are way too small for the price. The ‘special’ is a mixture of all meats but is still the same size portion - so some of everything but less of each yet more expensive! As Thai food goes, it was just ok, we’ve eaten many but doubt we’d eat here again!

Never had a bad takeaway from here. Authentic Thai street food just as I remember it from my visit to Thailand 25 years ago. Reasonable prices and good response time for orders.

Absolutely love this place and does best Lab Guy i have ever tasted. could not go a week without one!

So so, SO bad... Over cooked, tasteless noodles. Ribs that were harder than diamonds and fattier than Gemma Collins. And spring rolls that may as well have been shreds of cardboard, wrapped in cardboard then deep-fried. Any the PRICE!!!! 2 noodles, 1 portion of spring rolls, 1 ribs.... OVER 30 quid!!! OOOoh.... But we got prawn crackers....

We are lucky to live 5 minutes from Thai Shack and get takeaways from there regularly.The food is the best Thai food we’ve eaten - authentic and flavoursome. There’s not a huge range of meals on the menu - but there doesn’t need to be. They perfect the dishes they have available and often provide additional options on their specials. The portions are generous and reasonably priced for the quality. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Top Tip - we find the dishes are rather hot so specify if you want something milder. Also be prepared to wait a little longer upon collection that what you were told as they get busy (worth the wait though)

Visisted a couple of months ago after hearing lots about it. Had the Tom Yum soup. This place is probably the dearest thai food ive ever boought it was close to a tenner for soup however it was very nice and worth the premium (albeit at restaurant prices)

Small Famly run business with service & food at a exceptional level!

Called for Thai meal and all I can say is bloody fantastic and couldn’t fault any of it. Certainly worth visiting and taste this wonderful street food.

Should let customers know dates of opening and closing !!!! drove 15 miles as webpage said it was open we got there to be greeted by a sign saying closed for the holidays ? be nice to know when the holidays end and and to leave notice online so customers don’t have a wasted journey !

Love Thai Shack. One of the best Thai green curries I’ve had but it is on the spicy side. Stick to the traditional Thai dishes as I ordered the sweet and sour for my kids and it was quite disappointing. But everything else I’ve had from there is amazing. So sad that it isn’t open over summer!

Before I start can I say that me and my partner pretty much go to Thai shack every week. It’s amazing. James and the girls behind the counter do a brilliant job and the food is out of this world.

Excellent food and service, you may have to wait if it's busy, but that's just a good excuse to go over the road for a little cocktail while your order is being cooked. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a delicious takeaway from Rawtenstall’s Thai Shack. Starter of ribs very tasty & generous. Panaeng curry & Phad Thai just as lovely. Plus a beer in the sunshine at nearby Northern Whisper whilst we waited. Just fabulous!

We have been meaning to try the Thai Shack since we moved to Rossendale 18 months ago. With our close friends coming round for the evening last night we decided to finally give it a go. We went down to the Thai Shack personally to order the food. We could not have received a warmer welcome despite the cold weather. Having explained this was our first time we were given great advice and even a taste of the green curry so that we could judge the standard heat level enabling us to order it hotter or more mild according to our personal preferences. The order was placed, our friends arrived at 7.00pm followed by the food, delivered by taxi at 7.30pm as requested. The food was fantastic and we will definitely be using Thai Shack again.

Been here twice in past month as we are so impressed with the quality and taste. Quite expensive for a take away but you get what you pay for and I think it’s worth it. Chicken pad Thai gorgeous, as are chicken satay and som tam salad (beware it’s v spicey) red or yellow curry lovely too

Always amazed that Thai Shack can consistently turn out amazing food from such a small working space. Amazing fresh Thai food at its finest! Highly recommended due to the quality of food and the exceptional customer service.

Visited on way home from work, detour from M66. Street food kiosk, 5 hygiene rating, limited menu, but very tasty. We chose Veg Pad Tai, veg samosa, papaya salad to take home. Plenty to go around.

Visited the Thai Shack Friday 6th of October, placed my phone order and was answered by a very polite and helpful man who asked me to collect my order in twenty minutes. When I arrived my order was waiting for me and again I was served by a very helpful, polite and friendly man who seemed to be the main person serving the public. We ordered a Thai green chicken curry, chicken phad thai & crackers, the green curry was absolutely delicious! The best I've had in a very long time, it also came with a more than generous portion of Jasmin rice, the portion being more than enough for two and we still had the chicken Phad Thai to share, again this was fantastic, delicious and authentic 10/10

I phoned up on a Saturday night and by the time I had driven into town, my food was ready for collection.

Consistently the best authentic Thai food in the county! That's the honest truth. No joke, dead serious.

Love this place and can't believe it took us years to try it out. Food is spicy but they will tone it down if you ask. Can highly recommend the seafood Pad Thai or the Num Tuk. It does get busy so order in advance if you don't want to wait.

It serves authentic and tasty Thai food with a good choice and friend efficient service. Green curry is my fave along with fish cakes and pad Thai.

Eaten here several times and while the mains are ok the starters are very, very small. The prices for the food are comparable to what you would pay to sit in a restaurant and eat. A better choice is the Thai resteraunt halfway house in whitworth

After reading good reviews about this place and having not tried it in a year or so, we decided to give it a go. We were so disappointed. I'm a lover of salt but the salt and pepper chicken wings were so salty, we couldn't even eat them. The pork ribs didn't taste of anything, it was just like they'd been thrown in the fryer with no seasoning on at all. The spring rolls just tasted of white pepper and nothing else- certainly not fresh Thai flavours. I have to say the Penang curry was really nice which I why I've rated it 2 stars, otherwise it would have been 1. £25 badly spent!

Great take away Thai food. Excellent service. If you ring your order in it will be ready to collect when you arrive.

just heard about this place last week , even though its been in business for nearly 3 years , wish I had heard about it sooner loved the green curry spicey and very tasty , could do with a bit more rice , will be going again this week

After Travelling Thailand once I Returned home I tried plenty of restaurants to get a Pad Thai as good as in Thailand. The Chicken Pad Thai from the Thai Shack was as good if not better than the dishes in Thailand. Love how friendly everyone is too when you order.

Freshly prepared food of high standard made in a little hut outside Rawtenstall market, good portions and reasonably priced. Lucky to have this so close to home.

Outstanding Thai food, very tasty and cooked to order. I am on a diet and the owners specifically cooked my food by steaming it. Try the special glass noodles (tom yen soon?) Loads of meat and veg and nice mix of spices and a little bit of tasty broth at the end! Will definitely be back! Loved it!

First time having a take away from here and cannot wait to go back !! The good was gorgeous , good portions and v.v tasty !! Definitely recommend it

We bought a green curry, a pad thai and prawn toast.

Love this place! We're not exactly local,however our journey to pick up a fantastic feast of a takeaway & get it back home still piping hot is certainly worth the journey. Freshly prepared to be at whatever spice strength you ask for, yam woo sen salad is my fave, however all dishes have intense flavour & excellent quality of ingredients. Recommend you ring 1st to order, very busy, & rightly so. We're working our way through whole menu each time we go. James & the team are truly a hardworking bunch, passionate about their food.

Love love love the chicken pad thai from here. Looks small in the box but trust me its a huge portion and fills you up. Not a greasy bloated feeling either once you have finished. Its a great treat

I love the food here it's amazing !! I usually pick this up on my Saturday night home from work . The guy who owns it is very friendly and very chatty . Ladies dish up excellent food !!

I actually thought I'd reviewed the Thai Shack already but obviously not.

I have had takeaways from Thai Shack several times and I am always happy with it. Service times are good and the food is really good. The chicken wings are a particular favourite and the pad thai is one of the best I have had.

This little hut will really surprise; the food for a takeaway is astonishingly good! The staff are happy and friendly and everything is cooked right in front of you while you wait. You can also order over the phone and take the details from the website if you don't want to hang around. A mixed KPKP with a little extra spice is the best dish by far!
