Thai Rice in City of London, Westminster

I couldn't book, but they had plenty of space when I arrived.. on a whim, I ordered the massaman curry, which I hadn't had before, and which turned out to be an inspired choice! Sweet, and the cashew nuts sprinkled on it added perfectly to it. Plenty of meat too, buried under the sauce. I'd have had a second portion, had I had time.. Service was friendly and attentive throughout - I'd love to come back here again.

We came here for lunch and were the only customers. When the food was cooking, there was a smell coming from it which totally put me off. We ordered Tom yam soup but tasted like they just put loads of sugar in it and brought it over, I couldn’t it it. The rest of the food was really bad too, left the restaurant feeling hungry. Wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Service was terrible, hovering over clientele while we ate. No manners at all ,food was OK. Will not be back felt very unwelcome.

Having done a little research into great Thai restaurants in the area I’d read good things about this place so decided to give it a try. I popped in for lunch on a Friday lunch time and wasn’t disappointed, what a great little restaurant! I was really I impressed. Being a big fan of authentic Thai food I really enjoyed lunch here. I couldn’t see what I wanted from the menu so I asked in Thai if they had it, and they did :). I ordered the Chicken Satay and Kraprow Moo with a fried Egg and of course, a couple of Thai lime sodas! It was so good, just like being back in Bangkok. The lady (who I assume was the manager) who served me was really friendly and helpful, ended up having a great chat with her about Thailand :) Highly recommend, would definitely go back again.

This place is authentic and food really tasty!! The owner and all the staff are extraordinary kind and always helpful and make you comfortable! I went already couple of times and I always enjoyed and happy to go back again and bring my friends to share this Thai experience also in the heart of Portobello. Highly recommended !!!!

Without a doubt the worst pad thai I have ever had. Truly awful. The service was very poor too, had to ask them to take my order for drinks (on boiling hot day in boiling hot restaurant without air con) and again to order food. They didn’t ask how the meal was, nor do i suspect did they care. Would never come back.

Great food with original Thai taste! It is a good value for money option, too. I usually order takeaway or via delivery apps as I live close by. I have also dinned at the restaurant a couple of times before the lockdown restrictions, and the service was good.

This restaurant is good value, the food has always been delicious in my experience, there is a wide menu and staff are generally very attentive (hot plates, filling up glasses regularly, friendly, clearing food quickly). More recently we have had takeaway and it is also great with the same generous portions.

I have ordered the tom young soup but I can tell you that! Never ever order that soup from this restaurant, they don't know what tom young soup is, that was beyond bad, I had that soup some many times before from different restaurants and that was amazing, you guys should check it out how to cook a proper tom young soup.

Restaurant is not applicable as it was delivery. I have no issue with the restaurant & the food was great. The longer waiting time for food is a just eat issue - not enough drivers & pretty stupid as it was New Year’s Eve & people couldn’t go out. Just Eat needs to get their act together.

Service very poor and the food is average.. this is reflected in the price but I would consider the Banana Tree over the road and pay the extra!

We always order via Deliveroo and every time the food is on time and absolutely delicious. Classic Thai food, really well done, and good beers. Yum! We have never eaten in the restaurant because I don’t like the style of the interior, a bit tacky/too much sadly

Another great meal from Thai Rice (my local Thai restaurant). However very much ruined by another customer with a truly horrible offensive attitude. Completely condescending to the serving staff, and a complete disruption. I was very embarrassed for the serving staff for having to deal with that kind of behaviour...

Fui por una sopa de pollo con sopa de fideos. Recibí una sopa con dos pedazos pequeños de pollo. Tenía que decir algo ya que solo quería una sopa completa, ¡después de un largo día! El personal fue tan grosero que incluso me ofrecí a pagar extra y las mujeres que trabajaban allí me dijeron que podía irme, y que ella no me creía. Dije que puede comprobar que se negó, que no había ganado con ella. Fue vergonzoso que ella me gritara delante de los clientes como si hubiera hecho algo mal. . . todo lo que quería era una sopa de porción normal en ese punto, nada más importaba y, por supuesto, estaba dispuesta a pagarla. Al final fue tan grosera que no pude comer la sopa, ¡absolutamente terrible! Me fui miserable y hambriento con un resfriado, sin sopa bajo la lluvia, me sentí enojado por una sopa tonta. ¡Avergonzado de haber llamado al arroz tailandés mi local después de vivir en Maida Vale durante más de 25 años!

4th visit this year, service is fast, attentive and they have some real beers on tap ! Large menu with some familiar dishes and some you can experiment with, just ask and the staff will help you choose.

We came for an evening meal while visiting my auntie in maidavale, all the staff here are very friendly. Food was perfect. It’s not my first time here, and will continue to come back

We ordered directly from the restaurant. They delivered quickly. Everything was packed perfectly and arrived hot. Except the crispy duck was a bit cold. The curries were light and delicious. The red duck curry could have been a bit hotter (chilly heat). But overall very impressed and will definitely order again. Good value for money.

Pedí dos artículos. Ambos fueron horribles. Las gyoza estaban fritas, que no es como deben ser cocinadas. Había una pequeña pero de salsa. El plato de inicio compartido fue un sándwich sin sabor que se compró en lío frito profundo sin salsa. El satay no está hecho de pechuga de pollo. Todo el asunto fue desechado. La comida fue exquisita. El Pad Thai sabía muy bien y el arroz estaba caliente. Las bebidas eran geniales y trajeron una jarra de 3 litros de cerveza Singha. El interior del restaurante era increíble, ya que tenían muchos recuerdos estadounidenses y el orinal tenía la forma de una boca que me pareció presentable. El personal era amable y rápido.

Avoid this restaurant. The most disgusting food I never had in my life, the previous bad review been given in this restaurant was real. Portion is too small and everything over sweet. Muy buena comida, comer barato aunque la decoración no es lo que esperarías. Personal muy amable y servicial. Esto no tiene nada que ver con la comida pero vale la pena mencionar, caballeros, este lugar tiene uno de los aseos más inusual que he visto! Si tienes que ir cuando estás allí podrá comprender.

Good local Thai restaurant right across from the Maida Vale tube station. They have inside and outside seating. Ambiance is nothing special but its a good place for a quick spicy bite

Surprised to see so many 'terribles' on this restaurant, Reasonably priced, good tasty food with large helpings. Couldn't fault it. Great fun looking at all the stuff on the walls.

Love it! its just across the Maida Vale tube station (On the Bakerloo Line) so its pretty convenient to get there.

I’ve been coming here for a few years primarily for the Yentafor soup which is excellently flavoured, seafood and fish always fresh and plentiful as is the veg. Other good stuff on the menu includes the fried chicken wings in a lovely, white peppery coating and the Sukiyaki noodle soup (put all the accompanying sauce in).

Dreadful restaurant. Tiny portion of rice came in a 'boil in the bag' bag. Chicken tasted like bushmeat. Potato in yellow curry just frozen roast potato presumably bought from a supermarket. . Food was cold when we picked it up, probably because it was just reheated not cooked. The good news is that the excellent Banana Tree is about 20 metres away.

I love visiting this place because it's so unusual! They specialise in Thai food however the restaurant is full of American license plates and road signs. It's a really cool place! I recommend their duck spring rolls as a starter and prawn pad tai for main

Lorsque nous vivions à Londres, nous allions souvent dîner chez Thaï Rice.

Nicely decorated with old plaques and warnings from US (some if the real thing should have cost a good amount of money). Several dishes from the cousins with varying amount of hotness (i mean spicey) to please the not so fond of to the pepper lovers. The seabass and the coconut rice was my choice and repetition for the second time.

The pad thai seafood is poor on seafood

I ordered from Thai Rice 45 minutes ago via their own website and I just gave them a call to follow up as I live very near.

The food tasted ok, but everything was over cooked. The vegetables were soft and limp. One chicken dish was inedible and tasted way too processed.

It might be not super authentic thai food but Pad Thai, yellow curry noodles and Kao Kee Mao are delicious!...

Poor value for money. portion sizes are small and the quality poor, especially the beef. The Soup was in the food container rather than a soup container which makes it difficult to serve. also food arrived cold. Wouldn't order again.

Delivery was very late and the food cold and soggy. Had to phone the restaurant who showed little interest in sorting it out until I said I'd have to take it up with Just Eat at which point they did at least offer a discount.

American plates and neon lights everywhere.I had dinner in this place a couple of times and didn't know the area... food is okay (nothing special) but the last time I had to go to the toilet and after seeing that, I haven't come back!

Food is not that great if one has eaten authentic Thai food - e.g. Pad Thai. Furthermore charge customers wanting more chillies. Unbelievable!

The food was average in terms of taste but not really authentic Thai flavours. The mussamun curry is not supposed to be so runny and there was more potato than beef in it. We counted 6 thinly sliced pieces of beef in the while dish. This was a disappointment as we've eaten in at the Notting Hill branch often and thought that ordering from the Maida Vale branch would be similar. Really not so. Would we order there again, no. There are better places locally that cost the same.

Restaurant opens up to the outside pavement. 4 or 5 tables on the pavement with a few indoors and then a bunch of booths. Bar and serving area has a car theme with the front of a Ford Mustang on display and a lot of US license plates Staff were friendly and service good. Food was good and tasty too. Not especially spicy but I guess it's toned down for foreigners. Typical Thai menu where everything comes with a choice of chicken beef pork prawns lamb or seafood Place seemed to be a popular take away too with a lot of delivery drivers and reasonable prices which helped Worth a visit if you are passing

Thai Rice has become really disappointing now. The owners are shamelessly charging for food items that are not on the food menu. This is either bad business sense or greed has become the priority or misleading innocent loyal customers. This restaurant has demonstrated, through its management and waiters, that customer service is not their priority anymore.

This place has really gone downhill of late and I have been coming here for years. Twice now I've sent my chicken curry back as the chicken tastes rubbery and reheated. The Pad Thai not great either as the vegetables not cooked through and the sauce was really tangy. It's nicely done out and staff are nice but the toilets are quite dirty .

Food was expensive for what we had. And we were told 9pm delivery which showed up at 8:30! We had planned staters etc! It also wasn't that good. A £14 lamb special came with 2 lamb chops a tiny tub of sauce booked rice and salad. Unfortunate

Looking for somewhere to get a good meal and came across this place in the way. Very quirky inside. Very quick service once seated. Good range of dishes in menu. Decided on sharing platter to start, which was lovely. Had pad Thai, a massamum curry and jasmine rice between us for main . Tasty and plenty of it. Very reasonably priced and great service. Will go again if in area

The Pad Thai and Pad Key Mao were delicious. I assumed that a curry dish would come with rice, but unfortunately the green and red curry came without rice.

We go hear often as a last minute dinner option mid week, nothing fancy. No need for a booking here.Lovely a warm inside with candle light and funky junk yard interior. The food is tasty and served quite quickly, delivery is always prompt from here too. The only thing stopping me rating it a 5 is the staff could be friendlier.

The lamb chops were 60% fat with very limited amount of real meat. The flavours where great but the quality of the meat needs work.

They're rude. Been to their restaurant personally twice. Twice have they had extreme rude attitude. Through just eat, they never advise whether the dish comes with rice or doesn't so every time I forget - as for the price should come with rice - abd rhy just sent a tapper ware filled with slimed vegetables. No rice. Won't be ordering again.
