Sadly giving three stars here. This has been my third visit, of which the last two visits have been phenomenal. The food, again on this ocassion, was incredible. However, the two young waiters were satisfactory their general demeanour was the complete opposite. Not one instance of any smile or positive attitude; it just appeared that they did not want to be there. The restaurant closed at 11pm; at exactly 9.50pm we finished our dinner and sought to order desert. We were presented with the dessert menu, only to be told nothing on the desert menu was available apart from the scoops of ice cream. The gentleman waiter informed us that this was the case as the kitchen staff had already started clearing up? Pardon? With over an hour till close and your kitchen staff are not willing to prepare our deserts because they're clearing up? A very poor excuse and clearly shows a lack of care towards your large group of customers ( we were a group of 12). I think it would have been prudent to inform us during our dinner to order our desert now, if we wished, to avoid upset, again I put this down to the general demeanour of the waiters. Overall, a dining experience consisting of mixed feelings and dissapointment. Again, the food here is to die for, but more care, consideration and customer focus must be provided to your customers, especially if they are a large group.

Ordered a takeaway from here last night and it was delicious! My favourite meal is Thai Green curry but I find that it can be a bit hit and miss depending on the restaurant. This one was definitely a 'hit' and we will be back. Thank you :)

Brilliant evening for my Sons Birthday. Delicious food, I had stir fried duck with bean sprouts and shikari mushrooms, my Wife and son had 2 very tasty vegetarian meals to share. Great service and an excellent vibe to the restaurant. Thanks Team!

We have been dining at Thai rack for the last year or so. When placing an order we always request mild food so the establishment is aware of our requirements. However the last 1 visit the food was spicy and we told the owner Richard who admitted that a new chef has started and apologised Yesterday we decided after few weeks to visit again. We called to ask if it was ok to come since it was a late booking, were assured that if we were there in half hour than there is no problem. We arrived in 25 minutes and were told to sit wherever. We quickly placed our order and again asked for mild food unfortunately the food turned up spicy. We asked for Richard who than had a massive meltdown and just took our food away even though it was only one dish we had said was spicy and asked us to leave. It was probably the most utterly ridiculous disgusting shameful behaviour from a restaurant owner no professionalism. Unfortunately it was rather a Jekyll and Hyde personality we were made to see they were other diners in there and they started to video the whole incident. So the crime we had committed was to ask for food to be mild which they had been able to deliver for a year or so and the unprofessional owner decided to throw his toys out of the pram and insult us. Disgusting and pathetic are probably mild words.

If you are running a restaurant then a customer can request either spicy or mild food, and if you can't meet this simple request, you should not be running a restaurant but continue to work for the airline business that you understand better. As a family, we were dinning and were polite and told the staff that one of the dish was really spicy and the not the usual. I asked of the owner Richard, as he always pulls up a chair and talks to us, as we are always polite and courteous customers. Sadly the owner turned in to Jekyll and Hyde, as Richard completely turned against us, like a horror movie, & started to remove all the dishes and plates from the table and told us leave the place. my wife was stilling eating. This gentleman is simply not fit to deal with customers as he has no class, etiquette, and does not knows the meaning of hospitality, as his background is not restaurants and i suggest he attends anger class’s. A complete unprofessional cowboy who really does not know how to communicate with customers. If he was working for Gordon Ramsay he would have been fired on the spot for gross misconduct towards a customer whose only fault was to ask for the food to be mild something he has always done in the past, so why was today an exception. Sad fact is that his wife was giving him a hard time, so he thought here is a nice polite family dinning, that he can offload his anger, as he couldn’t tell his wife, as she would not tolerate such awful attitude, so we were given hell by him this evening. Let me remind the restaurant that you can keep your place, as we can go to much better places then the dump you run in Gerrard’s cross that is mostly empty, as we are not charity case that you behave in this pathetic and disrespectful way. I would suggest you learn to control you anger first or stick to repairing plane. If Thai Rack was the last place on the earth we would rather starve then eat the rubbish you serve with your pathetic attitude! You can refuse as management reserves the right, but once you have booked a customer for an evening dinning you need to behave with professionalism, grace & politeness as this is a restaurant you running not a kindergarten. If you can’t take the pressure then I strongly suggest you close this place down!!

Myself and my entire family were stunned by such behaviour, especially considering that we were regular customers. We were clearly not alone in our shock at the way we had been spoken to and treated, as other diners began to record the owner’s completely unjustified and unprompted meltdown/tantrum on their phones. Never have I, or any of my family have ever been subjected to such appalling hospitality. Being told to leave the establishment for the “crime” of asking for mild food (a request which the restaurant had been catering to for the past year and a half with no problem whatsoever) was both stupefying and humiliating in equal measure. It is perhaps exacerbated by the fact that a few months ago, when one of the dishes was served with hair in the food, unlike the owners, we didn’t cause a public scene or throw a tantrum, despite this being a rather serious issue of hygiene - we accepted that it was a one-off mistake, moved on with no complaint or further issue, and continued our loyalty & custom to Thai Rack. I can only conclude that this is an establishment run on emotions by immature and impulsive owners who throw a tantrum when things don’t go as planned. This is not the way to conduct a professional business, and is especially unbecoming of individuals in the hospitality sector. I feel concern on behalf of the young staff who have to work under an owner who is seemingly prone to such wild and embarrassing mood swings. If you’re looking for a night of cheap live entertainment a la Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, where the owners throw tantrums, then look no further, as this is the place for you. If, on the other hand, you’re looking to enjoy a quiet peaceful & enjoyable meal with your family, (without hair in your food, by the way) then this is definitely NOT the place for you to visit. If this is how regular customers are treated, I can’t begin to imagine how they’d treat you as a new customer. Appalling!

I have been to this restaurant many times before but well before Covid and in small groups (6 max), I remembered the food being really nice so decided to book it for a work evening dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and ample (we had one of the set Menus), also they catered for GF and Vegan guests. Service was very attentive and staff was really lovely. Everyone commented on how nice the food was. Another winner! Thank you very much for making our evening a great experience.

The restaurant was quiet when we visited, and had a rather old fashioned air about it. However the food is the important thing. Despite a mistake with our order we didn't mind as apologies were made and the young man serving us was very personable. The food was good but some dishes were better than others. Ideally you would make several visits to try and work out the best dishes to order for your personal taste. All the food was nicely presented. Parking was difficult in the area so you might need to allow for this.

We’ve eaten here many times as well as have many takeaways. I’m Coeliac and the menu is fantastic for me. We’ve not only never had a bad meal, we’ve never had a bad dish! The food is always fresh, full of flavour and delicious! The restaurant itself is not flash, probably a little functional, but I’ve been to many flash, high ens restaurants that are style over substance! This restaurant provides great food with friendly service! Highly recommend!

Staff our very welcoming, overall it was a pleasant experience, swiftly seated with complimentary prawn crackers and drink order taken. It wasn't a long wait for my food, Pad see-ew and a beef masaman with steamed jasmine rice. The pad see ew was good, I've had it many times before from a number of restaurants and street vendors alike, nice fresh veg and soft noodles and juicy chicken. The masaman on the other hand was far too sweet for my taste and seemed to be rather aromatic, maybe the whole star anise I found in my bowl, I couldn't finish the whole portion as it was just too much.

We had arranged with the restaurant to have a birthday party for our 4 year old for 16 people. The restaurant was very obliging and accommodating. We were allowed to come in before 12pm to set up. The restaurant allowed us to put up birthday decorations and kind enough to arrange the table layout to our choosing. They had refrigeration available for the birthday cake, if needed. There were a number of small things they did which made the experience seamless and fuss free. They were on hand just in case we'd forgotten anything. The food was simply lovely and everyone enjoyed it. Thank you to the staff and cooks for helping us make a memorable birthday party for our 4 year old.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had! Fantastic service and attention to detail like serving us hot plates to keep our food warm once it arrived. Everything tasted fresh, the produce was good quality and cooked well - not over or undercooked. The flavours were delightful, and the portion sizes and pricing was decent too. We don’t live in the area, we were just passing through whilst staying at The Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield but if I was ever in or near the area again, I would definitely eat here again! By far the best restaurant in the area and surrounding villages. Thank you! See you again soon.

Went for dinner with 9 people. We were the only people in the restaurant. Service was mega slow and food quality has fallen drastically. We have been coming for 15 years and were quite disappointed. The lady owner or manager was rude and quite off handish and really not friendly. Made our evening very uncomfortable. Everything had to be asked for twice. We had nothing to write home in terms of service in spite of the fact that the restaurant was empty.! The bill took ages and they still work with hand written notes! Time to buck up on service and food!

First visit to Thai Rack, and was pleasantly surprised. We went for an earlier booking at 18:30, which did mean the restaurant was pretty empty to start with, but this changed throughout our meal. We decided to give the set meals a miss, which looking back would have been a better choice, seeing of the variety on offer. We started with the duck to share, and it was majestic. Both mains were very nice, but because my wife had the spice removed from her chicken dish, it did make it rather bland - our fault I know!! I had the weeping tiger steak - very nice indeed. Pad thai as a side dish, and sorbet to finish of a very nice meal. At £80 with drinks, you could argue that it was on the pricey side, but hey ho!!

This review is based on a takeaway. The food is well made and tasty. I think it's expensive but we thought we'd give it another try. However, the reason I've marked it down is because of my frustration with how inaccurate they are about order times. Putting aside that I was told it was going to take 50 minutes to prepare the order, it took a further 20 minutes of waiting for it when I got there. This happened last time I used the restaurant when Covid wasn't an excuse.

We live local to Thai Rack and my husband and I were excited to try out this restaurant. We ordered the papaya salad which was nice and then the duck with peppers and onions. I am not a massive eater so had half my duck and thought I would take the rest home. As soon as I got home, I realised they only gave me the rice. I was annoyed as this restaurant is not cheap. I immediately called up asking where my duck take away was just to be told that it had probably been thrown away and nothing could be done. I was shocked that I didn't even get a sorry from the manager or even a gesture that they would make me another especially since I had paid for it. I feel had it been any other restaurant, I would have received an apology and a replacement dish. This has just left me annoyed and I definitely won't be returning.

Had a great evening here last night. The service was first class, nice table and our meals were amazing! We met the lovely owner Yupi who obviously works very hard to ensure everyone enjoys being there! We will definitely go again as soon as possible

It was a 50th bday meal... Food took ages to arrive, they wouldnt do a mixed starter for 1 for the bday boy so he had to have for 2 and it was cold, chicken very dry & over cooked... flavours were good but everything was over cooked so we didnt eat it, very poor.. Staff not the greatest. I certainly wont be going back

We had planned to introduce a friend to the local Thai restaurant and ended up at Thai Rack. The lunch menu is not as extensive as the evening one but offers a very good selection. The starters were perfect for three, Satay and Fish Cakes, both were good and served quickly. The main courses were large enough to be filling but not excessively so. All three were freshly cooked. Service was excellent.

Just had a home delivery, food arrived in 30 minutes which I know sometimes people moan about waiting too long but I was thinking I've just ordered one hundred pounds worth of food for our wedding anniversary for my family and I was right to be concerned. Food was very poor, we didn't have a clue what was what, no labels just numbers written on boxes but the numbers all looked the same. I ordered half of duck they must of found the smallest duck in the world I reckon a vegetarian could of ate it starters and main courses were very poor. I've just read they're try to sell good luck.

I had concerns about the meat within the prawn toast, which is usually a white colour, however on this occasion as I felt the meat tasted different I looked inside to find the prawn filling to be grey. I called up the restaurant to express my concerns as I was understandably worried about what I had consumed, to be told I was incorrect about the grey colour without the restaurant having even picked up the food for examination yet. Once the driver picked up the prawn toast I proceeded to call the restaurant to ask if they knew what the grey meat was, at this point I was told it was chicken, to which I was immediately distressed as I am a pescatarian and the menu description denotes prawn as the sole ingredient. Once I informed her of this she then laughed and replied ‘oh no there is no chicken don’t worry’. I continued to ask what it was, with no response provided other than ‘that is how prawn toast is’, which I will categorically disagree with, having had prawn toast many times in my life. She hysterically laughed at me and as continued to express concern she hung up on me. I am disgusted at how anyone can be so belittling and rude, especially someone who is in the hospitality field and to such a long term customer. There was absolutely no concern as to what the strange meat was or my well-being as a customer. I cannot believe I was laughed at hysterically for voicing what would be a normal concern to anyone if they saw grey coloured meat was in the prawn toast! Not only do they need to look into their food safety but they should definitely consider retraining their staff and teaching them manners and human decency.

Food always delicious, but the owners/ managers seem quite overbearing which has an impact on atmosphere. Fair enough if they are helping out, but often they are just sat on the booths as if it were their living room observing the waiting staff whilst on their laptop, which doesnt create a very welcoming entrance

The menu offers a good cross section of Thai dishes. I had a lovely starter of prawn toast (which was also quite substantial) and a penang curry which was delicious. Though it wasn't very busy, staff were friendly and efficient.

I'm a regular at North Star and I'm never left disappointed. It is a great place to work from during the day, the food is top notch and the service provided by Azaz, Ghano and Daud leaves very little to be desired. Great value for money and my go-to venue. North Star really is Iver's little hidden gem.
