The best Tom Yum soup in Exeter!

We had a lovely time here last night. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and given a lovely private space by the front window. The food was delicious and plentiful. The decor is special - we had a life size Buddha overlooking us; a Wednesday Buddha we were informed by the owner. Highly recommended.

This was the best meal my boyfriend and i have had in ages by far! We had the spring rolls, chicken pad thai, the rad na gai and the banana fritters with vanilla ice cream. i was blown away by the flavours, it was the best pad thai i’ve ever had in my life. the spring rolls were amazing and the rad na gai reminded me of a soup i had as a child that i’ve never had since and it was absolutely amazing. as for the banana fritters… where do i start? this is now in my top 5 favourite desserts i have ever had. i will think of this meal every day. the service was also so incredibly attentive and i felt so calm and at home in this restaurant. the staff were absolutely wonderful and you can tell they have a true passion for what they do. they even gave us little chocolates at the end of our meal! i wish this restaurant was in london so i could come every week, but whenever i am in exeter i will come out of my way to go here, it is the best. this is a very lengthy review but i just loved this meal, the restaurant and the staff. thank you so so so much!!

Really good service; great food although i would definitely change my order next time round. My only criticism would be the price of a bottle of beer, 7.50 is a little steep in my opinion.

We had the Bangkok set menu (3 people). 2 set menus is more than enough for 3 people 🤫. Even though the place was near empty we had to wait a lot for service.

Great little place just off the cathedral. Food was just right, flavours were all there without anything dominating. Everything we had was fresh tasting. Owner was present and attentive which means a lot I think.

Been living in Exeter for years, yet have never popped in until this evening. The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, waiting staff very attentive, and the food was excellent. Will definitely be coming back!

Best Thai food I’ve had in ages - and amazing customer service. Such a lovely family run business.

Whilst away, we met friends for a few drinks and food. Loving Thai food I was really looking forward to our meal. Sadly the service was very slow and the food was average at best, cold on arrival etc… we also asked for water 3 times, but that never appeared at any point during the meal. Very disappointing and expensive for what we had.

Ok, so I only visited Thailand once, and the guys running this place are clearly from Thailand but what happened to the flavours? Ordered a starter and two mains and three beers (£70) starter was compromised as did not have the one I requested from the menu but was ok. The mains, however were seriously disappointing with no vibrancy and lacking in any flavour. We asked for extra chilli (a fatal mistake in some Thai restaurants) and were brought a small dish of chilli flakes which we added but added no heat to two very bland and European tasting dishes. The atmosphere was lacking, the restaurant was unheard on a chilly March evening and the hospitality was average at best. Foolish choice being taken in by the venue and location rather than the authenticity of which this had none. Very disappointing and will not return.

Really good food and very nice serving staff. The only slight negative is that vegetarian options seem a bit limited but the waitress kindly offered to make any dish vegetarian!

Out dated decor ,very dark struggled to read the menu ,I expected the food to be flavoursome and vibrant as Thai food is ,but this was bland we had four starters ranging from £9 to £12 and three mains all around £18 then you have to pay extra for rice or noodles the other Thai restaurants in exeter are a lot better value for money

Been here lots before, though not for a while until tonight. Always been very good, but tonight was superb. The food is incredible, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant has a lovely feeling to it. Thank you to all the team. 😊

This was a good find, service great really friendly staff. Enjoyed the complimentary crackers whilst we chose our dishes. I went for the King Prawn Massaman curry with jasmine rice. What a good choice, the flavours were amazing. Got to be one of the nicest Thai restaurants I've been to, a shame it's a five hour drive away. It's a must if you are visiting the city.

First visit to Thai Orchid and I am blown away, the staff are all so friendly and the food was absolutely outstanding. I left very full but extremely satisfied!

We visited on a quiet Monday evening and had the set menu 'Bangkok'. The prawn toast was the best I've ever had. The Thai red curry was a particular highlight too. We had a lovely evening, the staff are all very attentive and sweet. Would highly recommend !

We had visited Exeter a few times before but never been to this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Certainly a hidden gem. Will definitely visit again.

Avoid. Maybe the Christmas Market has caused problems, but the outside of this restaurant has become party central/a public toilet. The unmistakable aromas of weed, spice (not the good type), urine and feces permeate the ground ground floor. Not the restaurants fault you might think, but they can certainly chose how to respond. And their response? You still have to give them money despite not ordering, receiving any food or drinks. They call the police on customers who after walking in decide that perhaps no, they don't want to sit by a window someone is urinating against. I expect the police at any moment.

This resteruant is extreamly irresponsible. I worked here for a while and found that the owners often pay the wages late. Until now, I've been out for over three months but they haven’t paid some of my wages to me. I have been asked the owners about this but they didn't have any enthusiasm to pay me, just said that they gonna check. This resteruant might have good test of food or another things else but they are completely exploitative and selfish.
