I wish I had got the name of our waiter because he made this a really great experience. I went with a friend for an early supper on November 27. I love Thai food but it was my first time at this restaurant. I was impressed with the menu, and particularly the special offer of two courses and a drink for £20 - this suited us perfectly as I went for the offer, she just had a main course, and we shared my starter. The meal: shared summer rolls, then green chicken curry for me and king prawn pad Thai for my friend. There was a slight delay with my friend's main course - I was really impressed that our waiter came up and apologised for this, rather than just hoping we wouldn't notice! The starter was lovely, light and fresh with a delicious sauce. The curry was very rich and creamy with the coconut milk sauce - I couldn't eat it all - but it had a delicious flavour, and was not too hot. My friend clearly enjoyed the pad Thai - I should have asked for a taste. Maybe I'll order it next time. When our waiter came with the bill we had a lovely chat and really appreciated his friendly manner. I'm so used to restaurant staff being over-attentive and trying to up-sell all the time, which is just annoying and obvious - this was much more informal and natural. The reason I'm writing this review is partly to make sure the company appreciates their excellent waiter - give the guy a bonus! But I would also recommend the restaurant for the food, the value for money and the atmosphere (neither too noisy nor too quiet, tables not too close together, nice lighting and decor). To be honest I wouldn't have expected a chain restaurant to be so good, but this one doesn't feel like a chain, and I'm sure I'll be making several return visits.

Our server Norbert looked after us from start to finish, he was polite, friendly, helpful and attentive. None of those awkward moments trying to catch the waiters eye, he was there whenever we needed him our party of 8 was there to celebrate a 21st birthday, Thank you Norbert keep up the good work!.

We had a fab 19th birthday meal. The food was delicious and Kate was very helpful with cocktail recommendations.

We came in for the Festive Feast set menu having never eaten at Rosa’s before and I can say for sure we will be back. Atmosphere is vibey, food was AMAZING (go steady on the unlimited prawn crackers though haha). We had a beef massaman and chicken green curry, both of which were delicious. We were served by Norbert who was charming and tentative and made for a very lovely evening all round.

A perfect meal for our 1st visit! Would recommend pork bites & red curry. Service by Izzy was wonderful, professional, friendly, attentive and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Me and my partner came for some dinner on our date night. Kate was our waitress and she made our experience lovely, she was friendly and welcoming and made us feel like we weren’t being rushed at all. We will be back to this lovely restaurant. We really recommend!!

The true test of a restaurant is really on a hectic weekend evening. We dined with friends on a very busy Saturday night and really enjoyed the food and service. We were very hungry that day so we ordered quite a bit of food. Since it was so busy we didn't end up finishing or eating some of the extra mains we ordered as well as dessert since we waited an hour for it. It was because aside from a full house there were loads of delivery orders as well. We don't fault the restaurant since it really was so busy. The food were very good and came out fresh. For starters we recommend the crispy wings, crispy pork bites and calamari. For mains we recommend the pad thai [huge servings!] The chicken rice and the Penang curry. All the restaurant staff did their best and we could not fault them for the time we waited for our second mains and dessert as we were able to eat 2 rounds of starters and our first mains despite it being very hectic. Also their staff NORBERT stood out most to us as he was so attentive and we were impressed by how much he stayed focused despite it being so busy. He was also very honest when we ordered more mains that the tickets in the kitchen are very long and set our expectations as there might be a bit of a wait for them since that was about the 3rd time we ordered while eating that night - which pretty much showed how good the food was. We will definitely go back as the food and service was excellent, but maybe on a less busy day 😀.

As a vegan I have eaten here a few times and each time the food has been beautifully tasty & fresh. The drunken noodles are a stand out dish, but everything I've had here has been delicious! I will keep returning for good, authentic Thai food & friendly service 👌

We were in Exeter for long weekend. We love Thailand and looking at previous reviews though we were in for a treat. That was definitely not the case. Ordered drinks, crackers, 2 courses each and water . Crackers and starters arrived instantly. Both very salty, when they were cleared up I asked for the drinks again. They still took a while to arrive. My Chicken Pad Thai was awful so sickly with the consistency of treacle. I can’t eat it . The gentleman severing asked “ would I like it boxed up “. Absolutely not ! This didn’t seem to concern him. The bill was given straight away. I refused to pay the service charge. Again this didn’t seem to concern him, no question Why. The water never paid an appearance Belatedly I have looked at recent reviews and something has definitely changed at the restaurant. Alex the founder and force behind the restaurant is no longer responding to reviews

Walked pass Rosa’s Thai while I went for a grocery run and decided to try. Tried their drunken noodles pork and my partner ordered green curry chicken…they were both really spicy but yummmyyy! Rachel served us with a wide smile and offered us tap water without us asking as well

The service was okay. So we allowed the service charge to stay on the bill. However the food was sub par. Supposedly chicken-based dishes had hardly any chicken in them, and the chicken was in cube form. Any independent Thai restaurant will offer better food quality - albeit just as inauthentic .

I left feeling a little flat on this occasion. They seem to cram to many customers into the restaurant! It was a cosy, perhaps too much so! The table was to small and the chairs not the most comfortable. On the positive side. The shared platter starter was delicious. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was lacking in quality. The red curry was very disappointing with very little pork belly. My partners main didn't WOW! The service charge applied is disgusting. There is very little interaction with the staff to charge this. I'm afraid I will not be returning anytime soon. Andy

I visited for lunch today with my niece and accidentally ordered a dish that was far too spicy for me. When I explained the situation, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Our waitress thoughtfully brought over some milk to help with the heat, and they kindly redid my dish with a milder version. Even though it was entirely my mistake, they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. All the staff were wonderful, as always, and I’ve had fantastic meals here every time I’ve visited. Thank you so much for the exceptional service.

Visited on Monday evening so fairly quiet, I love Pad Thai so thought I was in for a treat. We ordered drinks, crackers, 2 course and water. The prawn crackers were salty , as wasthe pork belly. By the time I had finished both I had to ask again for our drinks they still took a while. My chicken Pad Thai was so sweet and sickly I just can’t eat it. It seemed to have the consistency of treacle The water never arrived I was asked “ was I full, would I like it boxed up ?” I responded. Absolutely not That didn’t seem to worry the gentleman who returned instantly with the bill. I refused to pay the service charge which wasn’t questioned. I really think at least he should have ask to know the reason behind this decision

First time trying Rosa's, absolutely incredible food. Had the crispy pork and then the Thai basil with ground chicken. Blown away with the freshness and flavour. Served by Kate, she recommended the Thai basil and was spot on.

As Uni of Exeter students, Rosa's is one of our favorite restaurants! Authentic food, good prices (20% off for students), and kind staff. The milky thai iced tea is the best, as well as the summer fresh rolls! I would 100% recommend to anyone living or visiting the city. The portion sizes are large so I always have delicious leftovers for lunch the next day.

A lovely experience from the moment we walked in the door. Staff were extremely tentative and welcoming and the restaurant and facilities are clean with a great vibe! The food and drinks were exceptional and tasted amazing. Despite being a chain this place does capture the authenticity of Thai food and a good price. We already can’t wait to come back!

Pork skewers were chewy, satay chicken skewers were tasteless and the peanut sauce was overly sweet and not peanutty at all! Pangang curry was just odd tasting and the chicken was slimy which was cut into weird perfect cubes 🤢 overall was pretty awful!

Horrendous service. Forgot to send food order to the kitchen left sat waiting nearly an hour. No apology. No option of rectification. Food comes, missing items. Cherry on the top. Don't bother guys plenty other options nearby

The food was good, and I was happy with the portion sizes. The location is very central, by Exeter shopping centre. Most of all: great service! I don't remember the name of the waitress, but she was really professional and accommodating. We have also dealt with the restaurant manager who was equally nice. Good experience overall.

I ordered chicken satay as my starter and pad krapow (chilli basil) pork belly as a main they all came very fast. The foods are amazing! The people who served me there are also friendly, polite, and professional.

First time visiting a Rosas yesterday and WOW, the food was fantastic but in particular the service was just outstanding, couldn't have been more looked after by the attentive staff, particularly the lovely Ellie - will be back!

I am absolutely amazed by the service I received yesterday. It was very busy but the service was outstanding. Ellie the manager was very helpful and friendly!

Yesterday, we decided to visit Rosa's Thai Exeter after reading the amazing reviews. However, our experience didn't quite live up to our expectations. Although the food was tasty, the portion sizes were small considering the prices. The service started well with a warm welcome from a lovely lady who showed us to our table, but it declined from there. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty (us and one more table), our food arrived before our drinks, and we struggled to get the attention of the waitress. What disappointed us the most was the lack of attention from the staff. No one checked in on us throughout our meal to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. At the end were taken back by a 15% service charge added to our bill. This left us wondering what the service charge was for, given the overall service. We will not be returning!

What a great find during our visit to Exeter. Friendly staff, clean restaurant and restrooms. I had the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and my husband had the stir fry noodles. Great flavors and quality. I needed a little more heat so they brought me some fresh chili peppers from the kitchen.

Tasty food and attentive service.

Food was top tier and atmosphere was great! We had calamari, satay, chicken cashew nut, and chicken with rice. I personally loved the ambient mood lighting though there were some parts that were too dark. Our server izzy was very attentive and pleasant. Would love to come again!

Have had a fabulous evening with friends. Staff were superb, food lovely and definitely recommend.

A bit crowded at times but the food is fine. I usually order the usual fried rice and chicken - Occasionally they undercook the veg but they redo it upon request request. I am there on average twice per week. They also do blue light discount. However, recently when I visited for dinner on 27.09, I had to wait 20 minutes for Jasmine tea to arrive which was after my fried rice dish had arrived. In the meantime I had to ask again for plain water. There was no real apology for the wait and I wasn't checked on during my meal or got asked "If everything was ok?" Also, when I asked to pay the subtotal and requested to pay without service charge my server seemed miffed as if it was a hassle. But I am a regular at Rosa's Thai and feel the service could be better at times especially if I have had to wait 20 minutes for Jasmine Tea they are charging me for service. Food is delicious but hope the service improves too.

The food was amazing. If you like proper spicy food this is the place to go. Good spice levels, great favours, reasonable price. I would recommend Rosa's fully.

NO other words apart from brilliant, vibrant and delicious. The food was impeccable with lots of flavours coming through I could eat another dish it was so good. What topped off my experience was our very attentive, accommodating and professional waitress Ellie. She is a real credit to the team, with her knowledge of the menu’s and recommendations meant we had a lovely meal as she knew just what to recommend. As a customer I felt like nothing was too much trouble to ask for I will definitely be returning again.
