New management but lovely food with great atmosphere. Give it a try very approachable owner , good service and spotlessly clean.

We have been coming to this Thai Restaurant for ages. We have always had a great expereince with lovely food and great friendly service. We will come again for sure.

Have eaten in and have had a takeaway. Have to see the food is excellent and good value for money. Really want to support local businesses in this difficult times.

We've eaten here several times before and found the food to be fresh, authentic and tasty. Visited today and surprised we were the only customers. Food came quickly but was very poor. Chicken dish with oyster sauce was cold and clearly not freshly cooked. Informed waiter who said he would heat it up.....no offer of cooking it fresh. Pad Thai with seafood lacked seafood and was overcooked and mushy. The prawn dish with black pepper was covered in large pieces of crushed black pepper to the extreme making it inedible. Thai green curry had a sweet flavour to it and lacked the firey punch it should have. Now I understand why the place was empty. Poor quality, cold reheated food. People vote with their feet, as will we. We won't be coming back!

The service was good. The one waiter was friendly. The food however was not right. I had the Tom Yam soup which was fine but my main chicken Pad Kaprow was awful. The chicken felt so stringy and raw. It was exackty the same for my wife who had a chicken and ginger dish. We only are the sides because we had no time to reorder. When we complained we were told this was fresh chicken and was not undercooked. Basically the waiter did not want to know. We should have not paid and walked but being reasonable we just paid the bill and left. I would advise people against this restaurant as I believe it doesn’t hit the standard at all.

Visted had a table booked , yet people who walked in off the street were given a table before us, even though we had booked. Had to wait for a table, then put at back , the floor was disgusting covered in dropped food, cutley and napkins. Ordered a starter, was average at best, then was told they didnt have my main steak so i had to order something else. Decided to leave just having a starter and drinks. Very slow service. Also place was very noisy. No nice music or anything, awful looking fake flowers. Only good thing was the staff were nice and pleasant. Wouldn't recommend

Su Wat De. ( hello) - We have been going to this establishment for a couple of years now and have never been disappointed. We have tried many of the dishes on offer. my favourite is duck in noodles. ah roy mak. ( that was delicious) The staff are always friendly and helpful with food advice. We shall keep going. La gorn. ( goodbye) WE even try to learn the language thanks to the helpful staff.

We have been regular visitors to the Thai Grande and before that the Thai House in Loughborough. It was a family run absolutely fabulous restaurant. We went for special occasions and always enjoyed our whole experience. However on this occasion we were very sadly disappointed. The service was good but the food was very poor especially when compared with previous meals we have had there. There were a multitude of fake flowers everywhere and strips of wallpaper were attached with sellotape. I could not recommend this restaurant now since the new owners have reduced the quality of the dining experience.

I had a take away Thai green chicken curry with coconut rice, the prices appear to have gone up to what I would consider expensive the curry was around 9 pounds and the rice around 3.50 pounds, the chicken was tough and now has the cheaper noodles in of which I am not a fan, the rice was more like wall paper paste, thought it was a one off but no when I tried again three weeks later no better, I used to consider this place a treat but now I can make a better meal myself with accompanied supermarket coconut rice. When I complained they gave me a free meal.

We have visited Thai grand many times before and the food doesn’t disappoint. The atmosphere in there is lovely too. My only criticism was the table service wasn’t as good this time as it used to be. Eg I was still eating my starter as plates were being cleared from the table. Also all of the starters arrived at different times so everyone had finished theirs by the time mine arrived. It was fine and didn’t spoil anything. The food and place are lovely and well worth a visit if you love Thai food! Also good for gluten free.

I’d seen a lot of negative reports on this restaurant since it changed hands, so was a bit nervous about going. Overall food and service were very good. I agree with some reviews that the starter platter is not “delicate”, the inclusion of deep fried chicken drumsticks was a bit weird. Other than that I enjoyed all the other dishes we ordered and can honestly say there was no lack of choice as some reviewers have suggested.

Just had my 2nd visit at Thai Grand and again it did not disappoint. Amazingly flavoured food, great sized portions, beautiful interior decoration and fast service. Nothing to say to fault this restaurant. This place is my go to when in Loughborough

Had a takeaway, very disaappointing food. It used to be really great, with very fresh, vibrant flavours and a real treat. This was dull, fatty and poor quality. We won't go again.

I was taken to this restaurant on a first date. I already knew we were going there & it was rated highly when I looked on Google, so I was really looking forward to it. Everything about this place is horrific! The food, the service, the staff! I would never go back. I ordered duck spring rolls for starters, the batter was so oily & the duck was covered in fat! For my main I ordered a chicken dish, I had to spit the first mouthful out, the chicken was so undercooked it was rubbery. I sent this back and couldn't bare to ordered anything else with meat & the veg options weren't very appetizing. So left the place hungry. The staff don't know if they're coming or going, & they are so slow! Overall the worst Thai restaurant I've ever been to.

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions and have never once had a bad meal or service. On this occasion we ordered one of their set menus. The food was delicious, fragrant, fresh and arrived quickly. The staff were friendly, polite and professional and more than happy to cater for an allergy. Thank you to all the staff for a great meal and a lovely evening.

While visiting Loughborough we fancied some Thai food. From the moment we arrived was made to feel very welcome. Food was excellent would definitely be going back again.

Went to the Thai Grand today for a birthday lunch and we were very disappointed with the food. It is not serving ‘authentic Thai’ food any longer. The menu offers minimal choice and when I asked the waitress a simple question about the menu she couldn’t answer it. The Pad Thai was the worst I’ve ever had, it was a strange sweet tomato flavour. I left half my meal because it was not nice. The food was bland and did not have the amazing presentation or taste it used to have in previous years. We won’t be going back again. Shame as this used to be one of our favourite restaurants.

We ate as a group of 3 on a Saturday evening. The staff were very welcoming, letting us choose a different area to sit in according to our preference. It was a bit quieter than I would expect on a Saturday night but still a nice atmosphere. Thai Grand don’t currently have an alcohol license, which we had checked in advance so we knew to bring our own drinks. The staff were happy to bring us wine glasses and glasses of water. I had also checked if they take card payments based on a previous review I’d read, but they do accept cards so no issues there.

Been going to the Thai grand for many years. Can’t believe that something that was so good has been changed. The menu before had enough dishes on and they were all good. I remember taking a friend from London there about 5 years ago and he said it was better than any Thai food in London. Sadly he would not say that now. I ordered my favourite dish which was Nuer yang , well what I thought would be , it was supposed to be sirloin steak but it definitely wasn’t, the sauce was not the same, the meat had no flavour.

Over my time at Loughborough university, I was partial to a Thai Grand dinner as it was one of our favourite places to dine out on a weekend or for a ‘special occasion’. On our first few visits, the overall experience was great - food is delicious and reasonably priced, service has always been a bit hit and miss though. Recently, the restaurant has been going downhill slowly and steadily. Service getting gradually worse as staff seem to be uninterested. Subsequently, you feel slightly uncomfortable. That is why I cannot justify a 4 star at the moment, hopefully they get their act together soon.

Not sure what is going on but the Thai Grand is really losing its sparkle. Went for lunch and staff all seemed a little uninterested and average greeting at best. For some reason they are not selling alcohol (maybe licence revoked) so on arrival we then had to go back over to tesco to get some beers etc. One was in a red can and they then came over very quickly to say that it would cost us £5 to drink our own soft drinks (which it wasn't). Not exactly a friendly start to our meal. Food itself was OK but knowwhere near as nice as it used to be. At the end when I went to pay they announced that they would only take cash (which I didn't have) even though there was a card machine on the side. When I challenged them they said it wasn't working. Have to say I won't be rushing back !

Been here many times for work lunches during recent years and it was my favourite Thai restaurant in Loughborough however since a ownership/chef change in the last year I feel the food as took a step back. The same dishes lack something they had before still fairly good but there are now better options in town regarding quality and price. However presentation is good and food is prepared quickly.

Having visited Thai grand on several occasions we were beyond disappointed on our visit last night. Most of the food was inedible (microwaved chicken drumsticks, dried up precooked chewy chicken, bland tasteless sauces, vegetables clearly tinned/frozen not to mention the rice that arrived in a plastic bag!) When we complained we struggled to speak to any one in charge (he kept sending a poor waitress with his messages). When he eventually came to our table there was no apology for unappealing food we had been served he just walked away. If you are reading this Mr Manager, man up and stop hiding behind your poor staff. Stop blaming the chef. It’s your restaurant, you’re responsible for the quality of ingredients.

I don’t get to go out to eat very often, so when I have in the past my first choice has been the Thai grand. After my visit there last night I won’t be visiting again, it’s really gone down hill, there was nothing special about the meal at all, in fact it was disgusting. The food was really bland, I have tasted better from a microwave meal, the chicken tasted like Jelly, and very stringy, the vegetables didn’t taste fresh, all in all we as a small group didn’t want to pay for the food we had attempted to eat. When we complained we was offered 10% off the bill but with no apology, we offered to pay 50% of the bill as we had eaten 50% of the food, as we were hungry, and as you do when your eating out you persevere. We paid and left feeling cheated, no one would look at us as left, we felt really uncomfortable. I will not be visiting this place again, going out to eat is a treat for me, this was not, we left feeling angry and hungry.

Things have taken a turn for the worse at this once excellent Thai restaurant. Don't waste your money on the food platter starters - unappetising cheap chicken drumstick, tough and dried-out chicken satay, spongy horrible Thai fish cakes, cheap and nasty spring rolls. Why no spare ribs any more ?? I don't think any of the starters were fresh made and cooked.

Food was very tasty but service seems to have taken a dip. Not overly friendly and seemed a little disinterested compared to the smiles that used to feature strongly. Shame because we left feeling a little disappointed.

We have been to the restaurant quite a few times under the previous and new owners. As a vegetarian I prefer the new menu, a wider range of choice and braised tofu/ mock duck which is great! Food is full of colour and fresh ingredients.

We have been coming to this restaurant since the opening not every week or month but enough to know what it’s been like over the years. I can understand the feelings of other customers regarding the change of ownership ie. the food not being as good etc but the meal we had last night was excellent. The yellow curry was probably the best we’ve had and the mixed platter starter was different to before but still really good. I honestly can’t believe the recent negative reviews on here as the restaurant was packed last night and everybody seemed to be enjoying the food and atmosphere. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed. 10/10

Have been visiting the Thai Grand regularly for years and I have never had a bad meal there... the food had always been some of the best Thai food outside of Thailand. Decided to give it a try for the first time since it is under new owners.

Decided to try here after walking past so many times in the past 10 years, and enjoyed the meal. Going in as a couple though there was only one set menu option compared with 3-4 if you had a group of 4 or more.

Called on a Saturday night without a booking on the off chance. The restaurant was very busy but they squeezed us in. We had the set menu B and it was excellent. Way too much for the both of us but we took home a meal for lunch tomorrow. We will be back soon. The staff were really friendly! Thank you!

The food was terrible and service hit and miss. There was a delay with half of the food being served. Dumplings came out as if they had been microwaved, hard and also the prawn starter flew off the plate as we tried to cut through it. What we ordered was totally different to what came out on the plate. Not impressed!

New owners, change in decor, but food as good ever if not better. Went on a busy Saturday night and service was very good. Food came out piping hot and was really delicious. Only slight niggle is that they have stopped selling draught beer even though the pumps are still there.

My husband and I had a voucher for Christmas and decided to use this at a lunchtime. We had a selection of tasty treats, it was hot and served quickly. This review is from March 2018. There are new people in there now not sure as haven’t been back.

Came here last night and was completely blown away by the quality of food.

This used to be my favourite restaurant in Loughborough- always excellent and very tasty food.

I was concerned with recent negative comments but considering there were 13 of us the service was really good. The food was excellent we all enjoyed it.

What a disappointment. A group of 6 the meals came out at different times . The food served before plates,had to ask for plates which were cold. Don’t order sizzling chicken as it arrived very dry and not sizzling. The staff have no idea.

Went here in October, heard good things about the place arrived, there were a few tables occupied. Had the sharing platter, anyone who regularly has Thai knows this is the same in every Thai restaurant, this was ok, main meals were nice. Service was ok, but because the place is so big it just seemed empty and uncomfortable eating. There is a big sign on the door that says cash only, I don’t mind but wasn’t sure if it was more than a sign, I understand from recent reviews they have been taken over so let’s hope it picks up.

Visited the Thai Grand on Friday 1st Dec. Was sad to see that it had changed management. New menu , lots of different dishes but some favourites not on anymore. Chicken sweet corn soup was our favourite starter, very disappointed that it’s not on menu anymore.

Everything was OK with our meal and experience at the Thai Grand...but that's all I can say really! Staff were fine, if not a little cold and the atmosphere was abit lacking despite the restaurant being full on a Friday night. It did seem to take an age for our starters to come out though. The yellow curry I had was nice, but all of our table commented on the salty fishiness of their dishes...so maybe the chef is a little heavy handed on the fish sauce! Also I asked for a small thai side salad with my meal (trying to be healthy! Ha!) and was told it wasn't possible. Then every starter came out with a massive side salad?! It was fine as therefore I got my salad for free! :-) They were good though with my friends nut allergy. Can't say it made enough impact for me to want to go back.

After being a fairly regular customer to the Thai Grand over the past (at least) 10 years I had heard they were under new management but as a big fan of their food I ordered a takeaway for collection.

Very helpful staff and great recommendations from the menu. Fish soup was very good and all the fish courses we tried were fresh and full of flavour ! Deffo will be back

Visited the Thai Grand restaurant whilst on a course in Loughborough. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant is bright and airy in a traditional style. Food was delicious and well presented. Would recommend a visit.

The first day we ate very very well, it was delicious. We wanted to return, we tried to enter 3 times, before the supposed closing time, (30min before and 1h before!)

Love coming here for the food. The best Thai restaurant I’ve been to!!!A must try if you like Thai food!

Food is always good here but the staff are awfully rude with no manners whatsoever. If you close at 15:00 why refuse customers at 13:55 ? The service is getting worse !

Ate here on a busy Saturday night. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the food amazing. We had the vegi Thai set dinner and it was excellent. The restaurant gets busy but there are still lots of tables for two as it’s a big venue. Food, price, staff all excellent. Thoroughly recommended

We came here midweek and it was really quite busy! We have been here a couple of times and always had good food. We had the mixed starter that includes a range of different pieces and it was no issue for us to swap the fish cakes for something else as my husband doesn’t like fish. Everything was good - I particularly liked the chicken satay! My pad Thai main was lovely and is my favourite main. No complaints and will be back at again at some point!

We have happily used the Thai Grand a few times a year for several years but our recent visit was quite a disappointment. The acoustics are very hard with high ceilings and no soft furnishings and a neighbouring table were making so much noise i had to turn off my hearing aids, making a visit form an old friend very frustrating. The mains were noticeably more bland than previous lacking the characteristic Thai freshness and herb tastes. Perhaps it was the chef's night off.

Was here with a group of friends for dinner. The team were very attentive and also allowed us plenty of time to order bearing in mind we had a little baby we were all coping over. The food was not bad and arrived in good time.

We went here for my husband’s birthday on Saturday evening. The food was incredible and flavoursome. I’ve been to Thailand and I preferred the food at this restaurant. There’s plenty of options for vegetarians. I would definitely go back. Great service too! Thank you.

To be honest expected more... Food was ok, really just ok. I have eaten lots of thai food in some wonderful places but sadly this was not one of them. Nice venue and attentive staff but frankly not full of the wonderful flavours and freshness one expects with thai food. Honestly a little bland.. maybe it was the choices we made? I expected more as read some good reviews and as a one off if you dont eat Thai regularly then probably ok. I did not think it cheap either at a smidge under £ 100 for four with one round of drinks only? Felt a bit rushed too.. Not terrible but not great!

Unfortunately after going here for many years I won't be returning. The last few times the standard of food has not been up to scratch. The toilets are always in a dirty old state. The floor to the toilets is always lethal due to the kitchen and food spillages or the fat from the hot food on hot plates. That can't be helped. But it's dangerous. The main reason for not returning is the staff. The old staff that have been there for some years and the owner Paddy and his wife are super but the others are rude, unhelpful and only interested in the tip. Unfortunately twice they were really obvious about our tip. Saying how much did they leave, what tip have we got etc. Whilst we were still seated. Fair enough we all like a tip and any extra pennies but I would have hoped it would have been when we were out of "ear shot." Real shame but our family won't be returning. All the very best paddy and family.

3rd night in Loughborough and decided to try Thai Grand out upon recommendation. It did not disappoint. The food was incredible and the staff were very polite and informative. Definitely worth going to.

Main course for £6.95, Starter and Main for £9.95 ... great place to have lunch, no skimping on portion size and full choice of menu. Service is a delight, food tastes excellent. Great option for a lunchtime treat

Visited on a Tuesday night, it was pretty busy in there. Been a few times before, I do always tend to go for a veggie curry. It’s always really good! Food doesn’t take too long to cone and service is good

Been meaning to try this place for a while. Staff very welcoming and food was fabulous but the venue and atmosphere let it down badly. Old building tables and chairs etc, I felt like I was eating in the school canteen.

First visit to Thai Grand yesterday: Must day service was excellent and staff were all very pleasant! Found the main course food pretty average and bland to be honest! Mixed starter was great though, I think I will visit again mid week as it was very busy and maybe food was rushed out!

Finally found a nice Thai restaurant near home...had a lovely meal in pleasant surroundings. Staff were so attentive, polite and friendly...the food was mid price range, nicely presented and very tasty - will definitely return here again soon!

Visited for my Mum's 75th Birthday meal celebration. In total there was 15 of us, everything came out correct, all of the food was hot and tasted lovely and everything was spot on and could not be faulted. The only problem is there is not much Wheelchair Access so I had to leave my mobility scooter at the door. Apart from that, everything was excellent. All staff was friendly.

Not had a bad main dish yet! a good place to go with a group but your have to book in advance if you want a weekend table! Food is quick and the Thai curry dishes are very authentic compared to my resent holiday in Thailand!

Went here for dinner with the extended family. It's very easy to find in the centre of Loughborough. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu was authentic and featured lots of tasty sounding dishes. I went for the red curry in the end and it was really nice. It was also very reasonable.

Friday night was our second visit to the Thai Grand and just as good as our first. Another warm welcome, good service and great food. Both our daughters are studying at different uni’s so travel quite a bit and eat out in London regularly. Still find this little restaurant a real gem and a great find.

Last minute idea last night, so we looked in to see if there was any chance of a table for three, it was very busy, but...happy days ‘Come back in 5 minutes ‘. All our food was beautifully cooked, all the vegetables fresh, as if just picked. We had three main dishes, one rice dish and two noodle dishes and the price really reasonable. We started the evening at Wetherspoons with a couple of beers and three for £10 starters (no cask beer at the Thai Grand). So a short walk across the road and we were there. Definitely do that again.

Went with friend son Saturday night and once again had an excellent experience. Mixed platter of starters followed by Duck Curry, Special Rice, Prawn Phad Thai ... all were excellent. Service was superb especially given the restaurant was very very busy. Love it here !!

Most authentic Thai family run restaurant. Lovely staff who are happy to help with you with the menu . We have been to Thailand many times since 1985 so have experienced a good few Thai restaurants at home and Thailand. This restaurant is superb.

It's been a while since visiting the Thai Grand, and by all appearances nothing has changed apart from possibility the staff has become too 'Westernized' in the hospitality towards their customers as I would have awarded an easy 5 Stars because the food has not changed which is a authentic as you can get eating in the UK without being in Thailand where they have all the possible ingredients at hand.

Food was lovely but decor inside, plus passage to toilets, was a little dated and could do with a little rejuvenation. Would visit again though as food was very good.

Pretty much had a slap up meal for 3 for around £70 including a few beers each, not rushed - warm room and nice decor - I guess it could be very busy and rightly so but we were there on a Tuesday night and it soon had about 30 people by 8pm - nice fish cakes to start,Singa beer and then skewers of meat with lots of spicey stuff and I had Thai green curry that came in a big bowl over a burner so it looked really cool - had some desserts too - nothing special - staff were clearly all about service and nobody kept waiting or lacking attention - super place

First time we came here and it won't be the last. Authentic Thai dishes made by genuine Thai people. Food was tasty , fresh and full of flavours and the staff were very friendly and accommodating for our toddler.

The best Thai I have had. Presentation of food excellent, food piping hot.even though went Sunday evening as soon as restaurant opened it soon started filling up, can’t wait to visit again.

We went as a group of ten, pre-booked/ordered at lunchtime. I was impressed with the attention to detail as the server made a note of where everyone sat so the food could be delivered promptly and it came quite quickly. Some of our group ate here regulary and I could see why. Both the starters and main courses were very tasty. Just one observation - the food wasn't as hot as I would have liked when it arrived and this is why I gave it four instead of five.

We had not booked and being a Saturday night the restaurant was very busy. We were offered a table in the centre of the room. As we sat down another one in a better position became available and the staff quickly prepared it. We ordered and the food arrived promptly complete with a tea light burner to keep the curry warm. It was without doubt the best Red Curry I have tasted and was of a good size with lots of sauce. We had some sauce left and the ever attentive staff quickly took our order of extra rice. It was so nice to be thanked as we left. I have been to cheaper Thai places but the quality and service here is well worth it.

By far this is the best restaurant in Loughborough - firstly the food is amazing; totally first class and secondly the service is so many levels above anywhere else that I have been to eat locally.

We had never been to this restaurant and so wish we had come sooner. Phenomenal food and great veggie selection. They were very accommodating of our dietary requirements too. Food was fast even in a packed restaurant on a Friday night. A new favourite for us for sure. Absolutely loved it. We went for a set menu which included loads of food at a very reasonable price.

Went with a friend. Were greeted straight away and shown to our table. Very attentive staff a bit too much as didn't give a chance to sit and enjoy the food. Took my plate away as soon as I had finished the starter while I was still chewing! Thought starters were a bit expensive for the price. I ordered chicken and prawn wontons and only got 4 tiny ones! The main however was delicious and quite big portion. Would go back.

I love this restaurant for when I am feeling stressed, the waiters are very calm and it creates a very relaxing environment. Been many times over the past few years and never had a bad experience with the food or staff.

I'm a big lover of Thai food and this restaurant is fast becoming one of my favourites. Staff always so friendly with so many smiles. We started with a sharing platter which was really nice. Good selection of satay, fishcake, spring roll, chicken wings and prawn toast. This was followed by a chicken massaman curry and special fried rice both of which were delicious. Not forgetting the Phad Thai which is so so good. It's not the cheapest place to eat but I would highly recommend and remember to book in advance on a Friday or Saturday night.

We had their papaya salad which is delicious and spicy. We also had our favourite Thai green chicken curry and Thai red prawn curry with Pad Thai prawn noodles which were all really nice and they added green chillies to make it spicy for us. They also gave us a table last minute and accommodated for our kids too.. Staff were very friendly and food came quick too.. Definately going there again!!

We were greeted and seated in the most polite and friendly manner, - and that set the mood for a fantastic evening of exquisite food, and delightful ambience in this lovely restaurant! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff here, who explained everything we needed to know, as this was our first experience of Thai food. We will, most certainly, be eating here again!

Visited here as my last meal before leaving loughborough for the foreseeable future, and once again it did not let me down. The staff were friendly and attentive, frequently checking us for drinks and food. They were quick to take orders and keep us happy in this busy restaurant. The food was quick and piping hot. If you only go to one restaurant in Loughborough make it this one, the food is heaven, the staff are so lovely and make you feel really welcome and the atmosphere is always good, wonderful place for any occasion or just an amazing takeaway.Always book as they get very busy at the weekend.

Working in the area and thought I'd pop in as I fancied trying some Thai food. Staff were very welcoming and I was served promptly. I even asked the waitress to recommend me a good dish as I am new to Thai food and she chose something that tasted AMAZING! Also had a sweetcorn soup which was delicious.I an a vegetarian also and they make nearly all the dishes as vegetarian versions as well!

We visited for the first time with friends and enjoyed a set menu meal which was excellent. Reasonable prices and great atmosphere.

Lovely meal good service and exceptional knowledge of the menu and help with choice. We will be dining here again very soon

Ive never personally been a big fan of Thai food. But after a friend suggested it to me, I thought I give it a go. The food was very fresh an had lovely flavours to the dishes. I would recommend the pineapple duck which was exceptional. Nice restaurant, not overly busy but reasonable. For myself and my friend the bill for the news an a large wine came to £57. Which was very reasonable.

My partner and I went for a birthday meal and chose the mixed meat platter for our starter dish which we really enjoyed and would recommend. However the main courses left a lot to be desired - the duck in batter with vegetables was described as being topped with crab meat, this turned out to be crab stick which gave nothing to the dish whatsoever. From the specials we chose charcoal grilled prawns with a Thai rub and served with a lemon and sweet chilli sauce - the prawns tasted of nothing except charcoal and had a sort of clinical after taste whilst the accompanying lemon sauce was throats stripping and inedible. I was also served with the wrong drink which was removed from me AFTER I had taken a sip and given to the right customer ! my drink arrived some 30 minutes later after we had finished eating. We did complain to the manager who clearly had an attitude problem and no idea how to deal with complaints and yes he did give us a £10 discount on the bill but he was thoroughly defensive. It was a disappointing experience given that the restaurant had come recommended and I certainly won't be returning.

My husband and I went on August bank holiday Monday and were very impressed by the food and service. The service was really good and the staff even took the time to send me a soft copy of my receipt when I called later (as I'd forgotten to pick it up). Every dish we had was excellent. We're veg so we had the veg platter, red curry, coconut rice, and a couple of tofu dishes. Each one was very flavourful and tasted fresh. It was nice to have a variety of vegetables as well, as we find it's hard to find that in most Asian places. We'll definitely be back, which is rare for me. Until now, I hadn't found a restaurant in the Midlands in the 1.5 years I've lived here where I loved every dish I ordered and who I'd visit again.

I'm a big lover of Thai food and this restaurant is fast becoming one of my favourites. Staff always friendly and we started with a sharing platter which was really nice. Good selection of satay, fishcake, spring roll, chicken wings and prawn toast. This was followed by a chicken massaman curry and special fried rice both of which were delicious. It's not the cheapest place to eat but I would highly recommend and remember to book in advance on a Friday or Saturday night.

I often come to Thai grand as their food is delicious! It is by far one of the best thai curries i have ever had. Unfortunately on more than one occasion we have been turned down as we have shown up around 8.15/8.30 on Sunday as they say they are no longer taking orders. The opening hours state they are open till 9 on Sunday, it is just quite disappointing that they turn down service!

I wouldn't go anywhere else for a lunch out in Loughborough. It's incredibly good value, with delicious food and a good atmosphere for a conversation.
