We ordered a take away, the food was tasteless and bland, so much so we ordered from another restaurant. I have emailed the restaurant and still no reply, so adding to the terrible food is poor customer service too.

Took 10 mins to order a drink when there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. One waitress told me everything on the menu was gluten free when clearly it wasn’t. So I asked another who gave me a little more information. I ordered chicken satay skewers but on arrival the sauce wasn’t gluten free so I got some dry chicken on skewers. And my massaman curry was so over infused with curry powder I couldn’t eat it. Wouldn’t recommend unfortunately

The food is all fresh and made at the restaurant. And you can tell. The depth of flavour of the sauces is incredible. I love all the food there, but the vegetarian red curry is really superb - my favourite. I buy a takeaway, enjoy it with jasmine rice, and save a third of the red curry for the next day and make my own rice. The portions are big enough. So, I get 2 meals, over 2 days for about a tenner.

Fairly classic Thai food with crowd pleasing favourites and no pretensions. We had a seven dishes between us, all enjoyed equally and all very good. And all in big portions, to the point where the owner suggested we were actually ordering too much - very honest, but you try feeding my son! (who scoffed the lot). It is quite a small restaurant, so buzzy and fun when busy. The oh so hard working owner - she must be absolutely knackered at the end of service - is infectiously lovely and just adds to an overall fun experience.

Service is prompt and friendly. Decor is a little dated but the place is clean. The food was very disappointing. We ordered the mixed starter for two which consisted of tasteless microwaved freezer food served with sickly sweet sauces and a saucer full of raw chopped onions. For mains we had the green curry. It didn’t taste fresh or homemade - more like a ready meal - overly salted with a gloopy texture.

We visited Thai Girder on Saturday evening with another couple who live locally and go all the time. We had a great evening. The food was delicious and authentic. The restaurant is smaller and intimate which, personally, we preferred as it had warmth and atmosphere. We were not hurried or chased out and, on looking around me, I was struck that most people in there lingered for the duration of the evening, chatting and enjoying themselves. The owners are lovely - friendly, helpful and attentive. If you are looking for a five star, Central London restaurant, this is not it - it is a great, local, South West London eatery which has good food, makes you welcome and is value for money.

I came here with two friends this week. We've been before. We chose the mixed starter. Mistake, all deep fried stuff from the freezer. Delicious of course (1 each of chicken satay, fried prawn, prawn toast, fishcake & spring roll) but not very healthy but I was starving, I should have had soup. The mains were ok. My friend's red curry beef was the best of the three. I had Massuman beef & potato curry and my other friend had Pad Thai. We shared and the red curry was definitely the best (the other 2 mains weren't at all spicy). I would go here again and choose soup for a starter and red curry for a main and the rating would increase.

I almost gave this 3 stars. The food is pretty decent. The only problem is that it's not spicy.. far below the level of spice one would expect from thai food (though I understand this is to cater to non-accustomed taste buds). Price is decent (value-for-money).

After a day of watching some superb tennis at Wimbledon I met a friend for dinner and we decided Thai was the way forward. The restaurant is very quaint and has a unique selling point of having a steel girder cunningly disguised as a eating bar running through the middle of the restaurant (hence the name I'm guessing!) We were seated at the "Girder" and ordered drinks and food and it was very busy - given it was during the Wimbledon Championships! The food took a reasonable amount of time to come, but that's not always a bad thing as one hopes the reason is because the food is cooked freshly for you! I have to say the food was nice but it didn't really blow me away. The Pad Thai could have done with a bit more flavouring and punch, the other dish we ordered was also mediocre. The wine was the best part of the meal to be honest, a nice bottle of Rioja. Also after we have finished our dinner and were working our way through the bottle of wine, we were asked if we could move to another table as a big group were in need of the Girder, we agreed and were compensated with a drink on the house, but to be honest I didn't appreciate being moved even though we have finished eating. To be honest I probably wouldn't eat here again and I've had much better Thai food elsewhere. But if you're local and it's convenient, then fill you boots :)

I've lived near this restaurant for a number of years & can't believe I didn't discover it until last week. The food is excellent, good value for money, authentic. The service is excellent & the decor lovely. From the street side this restaurant doesn't look like much but it is awesome inside & I loved the whole experience. We got there early on a Wednesday, by the time we left they were full. Can't wait to go again.

I have been going to the Thai girder since its opening and it is consistently excellent. The staff are lovely and efficient, the food is some of the best I have tasted, I have been to restaurants that charge a lot more than these prices and have not been half as good!

I lived in Southfields for several years and this is by far the best Thai I have ever eaten! Even better than in Thailand ( I know - can you believe it!?) The pad Thai is amazing, as is the green curry - service is great, and the place is cosy and welcoming. Excellent value for money. I live in Wimbledon now, and still come to Southfields for take-away thai - as it is the best in the area by a mile!

Spent a nice evening with friends at TG with quite a buzzy atmosphere. Food was pretty good but not exceptional. Veg dishes were not very exciting but the main dishes were well seasoned and spiced. Had pork, fish, chicken and beef all tasty. For 4 it was about £100 incl starters, mains, bottle wine and 3 beers.

I visited the Thai Girdir in Southfields in December... looking for a nice spicy curry dish to warm up a cold day. I ordered a Green Chicken and a Red Chicken curry dish with rice and vegetables. All were prepared in about 3 minutes and seemed to have been pre-prepared. The food wasn't so spicy, and didn't have much creativity. I suspect that the main business for the Thai Girdir is "take out" food. Still, the prices were reasonable, and the staff were friendly.

I visited this restaurant during a trip to visit some friends in London as this is one of their local and favourite Thai restaurant. My friends informed me that me that the owners recently cut their prices by 10% to attract more customers as previously the restaurant was always empty and it seems to have served its purpose.I wanted to give this a 'good' rating but there is no such rating available so I gave it an average as I didn't feel that it merited a very good. This is a medium sizes restaurant. We visited on a Sunday night during the Diamond Jubilee weekend. It was very quite as most of London residents seemed to have deserted the city to make the most of the long weekend holiday. The restaurant was modernly furnished and very darkly lit which was rather hard on my eyes. The menu options are actually far reeuced from my usual Thai hants back in Glasgow but my friends assured me that the food was good. We ordered a tom yum Goong soup, chicken Satay, chicken green curry and beef kaprao with steamed rice and vegetable pad tai.The soup was rather mild favoured, I usually prefer my tom yum goong to have a spicy kick with a bit more stronger lemon grass flavour. The chicken satay skewers was again a bit too mildly spiced that my usual preference and the satay sauce it was served with didn't have a strong satay taste either. It was served with a small portion of Thai pickled veg and a side salad. After the starters, I wasn't expecting much from the mains but actually I was very surprised that both curries were very tasty. I usually order red Thai curry as it's usually spicier but the green curry was actually very tasty and was cooked with courgettes and peppers. I was very impressed with the beef kaprao - the beef was sliced into what looked like small shaved pieces fried with onions and mixed peppers. My only complaint is that I would have prefered more sauce in the dish as it's relatively dry. It was very flavourful and packed a very nice kick but not too hot. Both went very well with the steamed rice. The vegetable pad tai was a bit too soggy and sweety for my taste. I prefer any type of noodle to be a bit firmer in texture. The dessert menu was not very adventurous with a lot of ice cream options. We ordered a cocunut ice cream to share as we were quite full by that stage. It came served in a half coconut shell but was not very coconuty in flavour. The service was good - they were relatively quick in taking our orders and food was served expediently without being too intrusive.I would recommend skipping the starter and dessert but it's definitely worth a visit for a great Thai curry. At only £6.50 for a main it is incredible value for a restaurant located in a relatively affluent area in London.

The experience was on the whole fairly average, both in terms service and food - much better Thai options in the area. The restaurant also had a strange drain smell.
