Amazing Thai in Wandsworth

Tried this restaurant on Friday night, about three sets of diners. Saturday to the back of the restaurant by the fire escape to get breeze on a balmy night.

So happy to have stumbled upon this gem! This was truly one of the best Thai we've ever had in London, and among the top restaurants altogether. Fantastic service, gorgeous surroundings, extensive menu - and the taste! Perfect spices like we'd never had before. We ordered tom yum (wow!), Pad Thai, a 'special red spicy curry' with prawns and the most fragrant coconut rice you can imagine. All that along with a bottle of tasty and very affordable house red of which we got complimentary refills (!). This place looks like a family business where every detail is created with love and care and they really treat every customer as a guest. Recommending to everyone!

Hay dos restaurante tailandés vamos a increíbles y tailandés es uno de ellos. Ambos de nosotros pedimos pad Thai y el arranque para dos para compartir. Estuvimos decepcionados con la comida de este tiempo, el arranque de la hoja grasosa y una de pollo Tailandés la otra carne probado el mismo olor, ambos demasiado repollo.

Decidimos probar este establecimiento como últimamente muchos de nuestros restaurantes locales tailandés cambiado de dueño y chefs. Encontré en tripadvisor (incluso bastante cerca de nosotros) que no existe. Bastante pequeño pero confortable y con espacio suficiente para sentirse encajonados no. Ambiente encantador y un personal muy educado.

Empecemos por cosas directamente! Si en línea, vaya a través de deliveroo! Pero yo diría, ir al restaurante!! El servicio es estupendo, la comida es increíble y siempre vuelvo!

Decidí intentar increíble Thai por primera vez después de ver el menú en línea. Mi pedido llegó con algunos de los alimentos que faltan o ser el tema completamente equivocados. Les informé de esto sólo le dijeron que no hay nada que hacer, ya que el sitio web que usé es uno que no uso.. parece ser que es de 10 años. para los nuevos clientes que quieren probar la comida como yo, lamentablemente se guiada al menú equivocado si escribe el nombre del restaurante en google. Y cuando llame me falta el servicio al cliente como no te informa de este error. He leído los números y aún los elementos que coinciden con que no noté ningún errores y leer correctamente cada elemento que pedí. Cómo trabajar si estoy usando el menú equivocado?

Primero para llegar a una familia tailandesa que dirigen el lugar, nada, pero atento y amable servicio y posiblemente la más auténtica cocina tailandesa que me he comido. Cualquiera que diga que el servicio era lento, ser paciente no es estar climatizada en un microondas.

Y aun así... lugar familiar proporciona (literalmente y prácticamente). He estado lejos de Londres durante bastante tiempo y este solía ser un habitual, refugio amable de la mía. Bolas - así es. Ensalada de cerdo y somtum larb y arroz jazmín... yum yum delicioso nom nom.

Good chinese food, as I am very sophisticated, but everything was good. The service was quick and nice.

We live locally and had not been out to this restaurant in a long while. It was superb in terms of cooking (and they do takeaway too). We had Tom Yun Goog (hot spicy soup) which was delicious and very generous with the prawns and vegetables; Thai Green curry was very well flavoured and Gai Pad Gra Prow (stir fried chicken with crushed garlic and chillies and holy basil leaves which was excellent too.The restaurant can be quite empty if they are v busy on takeaway and vice versa. Overall, the food is extremely good.

We arrived at Amazing Thai at 8.30pm on a Saturday night and not only were we surprised to be able to get a table straight away, once seated noticed there were only 4 other people in the restaurant which we felt odd, upon reflection we should have left there and then. The English waiter Victor could not have been nicer when we asked if he could put the heater on behind us as it was cold. Our order was taken and I asked if they would please ensure the plates were warm as I dislike hot food on cold plates, I was assured this would happen.When my dining companion received his chicken satay it was on a stone cold plate and a comparatively small portion to the other Thai restaurants in the same area for a more expensive price, my vegetarian Som Tam soup was ok but frankly again over priced by comparison.Then in a restaurant with only 6 people we waited around 25 minutes for our main course which was annoying as the place was empty, we were hungry, frankly there was no atmosphere and we were cold!!!The mains were average with quite nice flavours but nothing very special.£3.20 service charge was added to the bill and although Victor was friendly he seemed to disappear to the kitchen after taking our order, the owner or manager who was there had no charm at all and when we declined to pay the optional service charge he became quite aggressive we stated it was because we had waited so long for our main course without any explanation he shouted at us " You are not welcome here again" - Charming! I suggest going to Tamnam up the road which is superior in every way - ambience, food quality and service in particular.

We've had great meals in Amazing Thai and also have had terrific takeaway, which is always piping hot and comes w necessary sauces. My husband loves the spivey beef dish either holy basil and I vary between the curries and tofu stir fries. Fresh and tasty food always, never a disappointment.

The Amazing Thai is a very nice restaurant. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food is quite good, especially the rice.The waiters were very very nice and but were not intrusive.The only thing is that the food takes a bit of time to be prepared. For us it took around 25 minutes and the restaurant was half full. though, we loved this quiet and calm room and we did not really cared about it. But surely don't go there if you are in a hurry.Anyway, thank you so much for this wonderful meal, we will come back again.

My partner and I popped in for an early dinner on a Saturday night. The interior is filled with beautiful wood carvings and SE asian art. There were not many other diners so we nearly had dedicated service which was nice. The proprietor was very friendly and although the menu is a little busy the food was very good and tasted freshly made. This is the perfect place for a midweek date night or for takeaway if you fancy that. We will certainly be back!

Having lived down the road from this place for nearly 4 years, I've always wanted to visit, but have never got round to it. Until last night that is - Iam glad I did! I went with a friend who last went 10 years ago and hadn't been that complimentary about it, so this was an eye opener for him too!The place looks very authentic, with attractive decoration, furniture and oodles of atmosphere. The owner, who serves the food, whilst his wife cooks, is friendly and has a good sense of humour. People have complained about the speed of service here, but to be fair, the owner told us that due to the high business rates, he couldn't afford to have a waiter to help him. So fair enough, in my book.The food though, wow it's great! We had some prawn crackers to start, with an excellent chilli dip. Then I had the Pad Thai - a Thai street food Classic that I fondly remember from my time in Thailand nearly a decade ago. Stir fried rice noodles with egg, ground peanut, bean sprouts and spring onions. I had it with a spicy chilli sauce and it was simply divine - excellently cooked and a perfect portion size.We washed it all down with some Sake and both concluded that the place is well worth a visit too. It's good value too and so I really can't recommend this place enough - come and visit this amazing Amazing Thai!

Food is nice. Friendly but the service was terrible. We were there for nearly hours before got our main course and then not all of it as our squid came later. Squid was, in my opinion, over-cooked but a good flavour. It seemed over-priced as well.

Lovely food, well presented, freshly made, great choice and accommodated our own additions. Wish it was busier on a Saturday night felt very quiet. Service quirky but friendly and efficient.

Takeaway ordered last night was delicious. Bold flavours, well cooked, delivered in half an hour. One gripe; they now use Deliveroo so I don't get to hear the old boy shout "Takeawayyyy!" with his beaming smile when we answer the door. Oh well, times have changed but thankfully the great quality of the food hasn't.

Delicious, authentic Thai food. It's a very small restaurant but great for an informal, tasty meal. Best Thai in Clapham.

In this unassuming restaurant on the side of a busy road, we had an outstanding meal. I love Thai food and this was certainly one of the best meals of this kind I have had for several years. Everything tasted fresh and was perfectly cooked. There were 4 of us and we ordered a wide range of starters and main courses that we shared. All were excellent. A highlight was the Phed Makam, or crispy duck sliced and served on a bed of seaweed topped with a sweet and sour tamarind sauce. Even the mango sorbet was divine! Service was attentive and friendly. Thus place deserves to be better known.

This place is a joke. We received our first course after half an hour, then after over an hour of waiting we decided to pay for what we had and leave. The manager was completely unapologetic and gave the excuse that lots of people came at once - there were 2 other tables occupied and they had all finished eating when we left. There was one other poor guy who ordered take-away for pick up - he was waiting 45 minutes when we left. Terrible service, it isn't worth the wait.

While the food is nice, the service is far too slow. When we complained, the staff seemed indifferent and no attempt was made to apologise.

I'm lucky to live round the corner from this restaurant, the food is absolutely gorgeous, there's a great selection and the owners love to give you recommendations based on your tastes! Also a great selection of beers, wines and spirits. They have a takeaway option too also fab fab fab! Highly recommend!

I used to come here for dinner quite often when I lived in the same area. Well, what can I say, the food is super delicious, staff is genuinely nice and really friendly and as I always mention, good value for money.Perfect for date or gathering with your friends after long stressfull week, the place really calms you down.Don't just read reviews, try!

This Restaurant has perfect thai food at very reasonable prices. The lamb curry with spagetti was fabulous. I would come back and visit again.

This place does Thai well - perhaps not amazing but very satisfactory. Friendly service, pleasant environment, prompt delivery of food and decent tasty portions - only down side was the lack of any other customers in the place (their loss!).

This is more about takeaway than dining in, as yet, I've not had the pleasure. I wish I had stumbled upon this place a long time ago as I have been searching! The service and food were a delight. I've tried many a takeaway about these parts, and Amazing Thai is honestly the best one I've encountered. Hope it continues. All the best.

Amazing Thai has a menu full of delicious dishes. The restaurant's environment is welcoming and very well decorated - it feels as if you were in Thailand! To complete the excellent food and place, the service is fantastic. Congratulations and keep up the amazing work!

We wandered in here in a Friday night at 9.30pm and ordered some takeaway. I have lived up the road from this place for 2 years and never tried it! The two people working there were so chatty and friendly. It seemed quiet but they explained they they have a lot of delivery orders rather than walk-ins. We had some prawn crackers while we waited and ordered the green Thai chicken curry. It was delicious. I would definitely go again and order a few different things. There are three Thai places in the area and this is the best!

Wow wow wow, Went to this place not really expecting great things for some reason. Restaurant was quiet and the prawn crackers were quite soggy but that's the only fault. I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world including Thailand. The food in this restaurant is on par and even better than some Thailand restaurants. House wine is very acceptable. As is the mixed starter and I was blown away by the red curry!!

We've been going to the 'Amazing Thai' every new year's eve for the last 7 years as we've always found it good and friendly. This year I've decided to write this as we've had the best meal of all and impeccable service. For the price I believe this is the 'best Thai' restaurant in London and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys oriental cuisine.

I've been a regular for two years, have tried multiple dishes, and I've never been disappointed. The food is freshly made for every order, and you can honestly tell. The portions are extremely generous (enough for two regular plates per dish if you mix it with a side), and the taste is powerful yet delicate. I've tried a lot of Thai places in this area as I've been a local for nine years, but Amazing Thai blows the competition out of the water. I can't recommend it enough!

Recently tried Amazing Thai takeaway service. Quality of food was good however the portions of curry were very small so probably not worth the money.

Been here on soo many occasions with my girlfriend and with friends. Food is outstanding and the most friendly service you could experience. Would recommend to anyone!!

Good and friendly service, delicious Amazing Thai platter for 2, pork pad thai, pork with chilli and garlic (heavy on the garlic - yummy) and spicy chicken red curry, one bottle of beer and two soft drinks = £52 . Will DEFINITELY be going back.

I love this place, the food is excellent, the place is very quiet and relaxing, perfect for meeting up with friends to chat or for a date. I agree that the service is rather slow, but if you have good company, you don't mind that much.

I went in for dinner recently and the waiter was the worst waiter I have come across in 15 years of living and eating out in London. The food took FOREVER to come, we were getting really annoyed at the slow and useless service. Once the food arrived it was VERY good but I would never eat in again.So next time I decide to order take away, hoping I would get great food and not have to put up with the rubbish waiter. However the rubbish waiter took my order on the phone, got the order wrong and rather than 25 mins as we were told it took 1 hour!!!! No discount was offered. A VERY POOR show!In summary, Amazing Thai food, NOT Amazing experience!

located at the shabbier end of lavender hill, this is the type of place where one should not expect too much. having been here on many occasions when it was called the gratom thai, internally the place is exactly the same though under new ownership. the food has always been excellent here with much choice, good value and well cooked. dont expect a decent wine list, have the beer instead. however, when we visited we were one of only about 2 or 3 other tables in use. the service was really slow with no apology prior to the food arriving nor upon delivery. i have no idea why. maybe on another night it would have been a faster service.

Food is take away standard, greesy and very oily, made me sick!Service was quite average with some snobby careless waiters. Couldn't wait to get out of their!

We've left the place 20 mins ago.The food was great , actually I knew food is gonna be great right after I tasted the aperitifs. Quiet , Clean and quick with the service. Loved it.

.... really just an update. Dumplings still mouthwatering - can actually taste the water chestnut.In a world where restaurants arrive, excel, go sour then close this place still has retained its reputation.

We normally go to the Thai place up the road, but thought we would give this one a go. Pretty quiet on Easter Monday. We ordered mains only and the dishes came out in reasonable time, but the sides to accompany them come out about 5-10mins later. So unfortunately the meals were luke warm when we ate. My soft shell crabs were a bit small, but tasty enough :) my partner's jungle curry, proper spicy. Other than the delay in food delivery service was good.

Have been meaning to write this review for a wihile. Last nights meal reminded me I HAD to!Amazing lives up to its name. Best Thai food I've tasted, served in a chilled, friendly, cultured atmosphere. Lovely decor, wide range of menu choices. It is admittedly a struggle trying to order over the telephone, but the food is so good you'll soon get over it. Great attention to detail and very hospitable, a snack while you wait for takeaway?Will be back again and again to dine in and to take out.

I have been for the 1st time in this little restaurant, very cozy and well decorated inside. We got a warm welcome from the waitress on arrival. Table setting was pretty and authentic. I would go there for a romantic meal. The food was incredible and I have to say, the best Thai food I have ever tasted and some of my friends even told us that it was as good as the food in Thailand! You shall try the meals with duck and the fried sea bass, amazing! We all called out the Chef (a lady) and we gave her a well deserved ovation! I will definitely come back as more over, the prices were very reasonable. Long life to Amazing Thailand!

I was eating alone, but decided to eat at the restaurant rather than take-away. The waitress was charming and very polite, perhaps as you would expect. The restaurant was not busy, but the atmosphere was very relaxing, with gentle oriental music playing; would make a great venue for a romantic meal or a business meeting, indeed any meal where you actually want to be able to talk to your companion! The food was a pretty good standard as well. I have walked past this restaurant many times, but this was my first visit. I would certainly go back and hope they can build up their trade; it could be a little gem.

Thought a little counterbalance to last review was needed; owner understandly upset but sometimes in life there are times when everything goes wrong. This sadly must have happened to LM_Freq… but I was not there and eaten in restaurant and ordered take-away though I usually collect it so I can have a wine and chat whilst I wait. They are friendly and have a loyal customer base for a very good reason. It is a family run owned restaurant not these faux Thai corporate jobs.Do give it a chance peeps and here are some reasons why.I use Amazing Thai on a regular basis- I was a boring green curry and rice kind of girl and now I've learnt to appreciate massaman curry (never understood its appeal til tried there), the delights of somtum and salad normaii and countless other items on their menu.The dumplings are fragrant and delicate and delicious.I ordered take-away two nights ago and it was yummy - penang curry (feeling a bit retro me), rice, dumplings of course irrestible, som tum. Now I feel quite hungry so bang goes the diet again.

I have NEVER written a bad review, but after last nights Thai Takeaway from "The Amazing Thai" I think that they should seriously consider changing the name of their restaurant.First of all - it took over 12 minutes to order 2 main courses and 2 rice. The gentleman on the phone was ever so polite but he spoke and understood very little English.The delivery arrived an hour later, we were hoping it would be worth the wait but no - The portions were incredibly small, just under half full on a normal no flavour, way too much spice - a "slightly spiced" dish made my mouth feel like it was on fire. The other curry was bland, no flavour, 2 small pieces of lamb and one potato. Again half fullTotal waste of money and time. Wouldn't order from here again.

I tried it for first time last week. I was well impressed.For me the place does not look the part; nonetheless, it surely taste's it.I motice they have a pick up facility. It is a shame you can go to the place and not eat the food before it cools and mushes. However, it is there.

We went here for our first date. Although our welcome was pleasant, the service was slow. It was worth the wait however, as the food was excellent - especially the sticky rice. we will be back!

This place is a gem. The som tam thai is amazing. Spicy is best. Try the Hoy Mangpoo steamed mussels with chilli. Stir fried squid. And the Hor Mok (tilapia fish) yummy. Owners Padong and his wife Aree are so friendly. It's home from home if you love Thailand
