We have going here ever since it opened, such a wonderful place, really lovely food, and such friendly staff/owners.

Great Thai food, very helpful as wife vegetarian and allergic to soya. They cooked a very tasty takeaway I had Red Curry we also had vegetarian mixed starters.

We enjoyed a delicious takeaway from here and would definitely recommend to others. The food was ordered for a specific time slot, the food was ready for collection on time and felt very safe under the new Covid19 guidelines. We had the masaman curry it was beautiful!

Visited the restaurant tonight with a friend, the restaurant was empty so we had the place to ourselves. As we were the only diners our expectations of a good service were pretty high!! After about an hour another couple came in and were seated and served, so this now made a total of 4 in the restaurant, this was obviously too much for the waitress to cope with, after we had eaten she cleared our plates away and this was when the level of service became non existent, she seemed to disappear out the back, there were no offers of a dessert menu, more drinks, a coffee, or to even ask if the meal was ok. When the other couple asked for the bill we took the opportunity to grab her attention for our bill so that we could leave. The food was average and the potions were small, I definitely felt that the food was over priced.So much for trying to support local businesses.

As we entered there was no one else in the place. We were greeted and seated. Our order was taken promptly. Drink - I ordered a coke, not sure how long the bottle was open, but it was nasty and flat. Starters- squid, nasty could not chew, it was like eating an old tyre, only managed to eat one piece and struggled to say the least, picked the crispy batter off the rest. Main - prawns with peppers, this was ok, rice had no flavour at all, noodles were standard Easy to say, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Was expecting more but it disappointed me greatly. I’m sure I’m had food poisoning from this place. Back to Aylesbury for Asian food me think.

Visited here several times now and have never been disappointed.Great food, fantastic service with a sense of humour attached.Been with family and with a large group of friends and the quality and service is always great.The Pad Thai is my favourite dish but everything I have tried has been excellent

Went on Saturday night. Very busy, as per usual. Always recommend booking. We shared the main and starters. The duck main with "special sauce" was very good. The mix starters were excellent. £42 per head was the bill with booze and tip.

What a gem of a restaurant. Small but great. Service was nice, quick and with a smile. Food was one of the best Thai’s I have had. Give it a try, but would book as it’s a small place and fills up quickly.

Service exceptional, food amazing, ambiance soothing. The menu has all the usual Thai dishes, the starters were sooooo good as were the main courses in a rush so didn't try the sweets.

We were greeted by a friendly and helpful waitress. As the evening went on I was glad that we had booked as the tables filled up quite fast.The food was excellent, I loved the mussels starter and the stock they were cooked in. The sauces on the main courses were delicious. I had scallops and my wife the beef but we both cleaned our plates.The wine list was reasonable and not too overpriced..

Best Thai in town, recently returning from Thailand you can say I had very high expectations, Thai Chef didn’t disappoint, amazing food, great service with a smile!

We booked a table for 3. Our first visit to this lovely little Thai restaurant. Modern decor and tastefully decorated. The staff were lovely. There was a real buzz to the place. All the food was artistically presented and was delicious. Just a couple of criticisms! My daughter had to wait quite a while for her soup whereas my husband and I had our mixed starter long before that. My main meal was the mixed seafood over charcoal. Whilst it was delicious, the calamari was over cooked and therefore very rubbery. We’ll definitely go again.

nice resturant however last time we visited the old waiting staff were not there, thw young waiters that were always very helpful and kind and were extremely polite especially young brunette lady not the same without

My sons took me there (and my wife) for dinner toninght. The 3 course Sunday evening set menu was amazingly good value. Authentic food, well cooked. Definitely to be recommended.

Admittedly I saw the rating on TA, phoned up and made the reservation without looking at the menu. I wasn't at all disappointed with the overall dining experience.

Been here several times. Yes, it can get busy. Sometimes the chef can cook his veg hard. But the flavours are authentic and spicy. Take away portions are a little small. In house portions are decent.

My daughter and family took me for a meal to the Thai Chef on Monday evening. It was wonderful, spotlessly clean and managed by helpful and pleasant staff, coupled with excellent food which made my evening most enjoyable. Having owned a Thai restaurant with my wife in Edinburgh for 16 years I am inclined to be critical and look at all aspects, but in this restaurant I could not find a single thing wrong .

Went there 2 weeks ago with my friends. Food was ok, service as well but nothing outstanding, not 5 stars that's for sure. After reading so many reviews I was expecting something better. A little bit disappointed.

Lovely restaurant with good food. We visited on a Wednesday and were seated immediately, despite not having a booking. The waitress was great and we enjoyed all our food. The Pad Thai is great. Yes it's a bit snug, but the atmosphere is nice and without a few tables they won't make any money. Best to book to avoid disappointment. We will be returning.

Restaurant is very snug, with no atmosphere despite being fully booked. We were so close to other diners that we could hear their conversations and as a larger group, we felt they could definitely hear ours.

What a wonderful place. The food was fantastic. Will definitely be returning. All my family were there and they loved it as well.

First impressions were good plesant staff and the atmosphere seemed good,tables were quite close together.Fairly good choice on the menu ,food was cooked fresh however the portions were very small overall was disappointed as l had heard good things about the place.

Tried a local Thai tonight. Although cheaper than Lumpini it reflected that in its portion size. I like spicy but the dish I always have was vindaloo spicy and I ordered beef and got chicken. I wouldn’t go again. I would drive to Lumpini Thai in dunstable

Our favourite take away. Always really high quality fresh thai food, can be busy at the weekend but always worth the wait.

I've been to this restaurant a number of times and regularly when it was located in Peacock Mews. The new restaurant is very modern, whilst retaining elements of Thai style and of course retaining the excellent quality of cooking. It is not a big restaurant, toilets are clean and adjacent to the small bar. The restaurant it gets fully booked fairly often so plan ahead and it can get a little noisy when full.

Excellent food, had the Massaman Curry with King Prawns with coconut rice.....delicious! Went on one of the hottest evenings, had a large fan blowing around the restaurant, lady said they are installing air-con in a few weeks.

Really nice food just a little over priced. Staff really friendly. Restaurant is very small though and the toilets open up into the restaurant which some may not find ideal.

This was my first visit to the Thai Chef but it certainly won’t be the last. We went for an impromptu meal on Thursday evening, it was quite early and we had no trouble getting a table.

We very much enjoyed the Sunday discount menu which has 6 choices of starter, about 10 main dishes and several choices of sweet....all for £10. Amazing. Good service. Great atmosphere.

We decided to try this restaurant early Friday evening and still only managed to get a table if it was vacated by a certain time. Would definitely recommend booking if you want to eat at peak times.

We visited as a family in early April. Being Sunday night there was a fixed price meal offer of a three course meal for £9.95. The choice was limited but still adequate with 10 starters and a similar number of mains. We had a selection of mostly Massaman curry but also a beef stir fry that was excellent. Starters prawn toast excellent but satay chicken served tepid and with a small pot of sauce to dip rather than coating the satays. The decor is simple but a tad garish with the green ceiling light. I suppose it is authentically Thai.

Had a take out Saturday night, chicken was so tough it asked me for a fight twice! Pad Thai disgusting with an old fatty oil taste, ribs no meat on at all and no flavour, sea bass curry was good according to my wife, first and last time.

We ate at the Thai Chef on a Saturday night. There was a large table of extremely loud, brash women in the restaurant when we arrived. At that point we should have turned around and left. Basically due to the total lack of soft furnishings and therefore the acoustics of the room, the table of 20 women made the noise level unbearable. We could hardly even think straight to order our food. The food was at best average. The sizzling seafood platter was not sizzling and served on a dinner plate. The excuse was that the sizzling sets off the smoke alarm. At £16.50 it was a meagre plate of 12 small pieces of fish including around 3 mussels which would never be served on a sizzling platter. My husband ate a bit, then complained and sent it back so they bought a curry instead. But still tried to charge for the fish platter. The rest of the food was ok but the portions were very small in proportion to the prices. A portion of rice was not large enough to share. I've hesitated to write a bad review as I felt sorry for them due to the table of brash women, which you could argue was not their fault. However other restaurants would tell these sorts of diners that they were disturbing other paying customers and to simmer down or leave. They did not do this and therefore were responsible for us having a very unpleasant evening.

Went on a Friday night. Had made a reservation and it was busy. Some reviews said it was cold inside. It was toasty on a cold night. Some also said service was slow. Not a bit of it. Very pleasant and efficient waitresses. The food and additional drinks were quickly served. All four of us were very pleased with the food and will come again. Portion size a bit on the small size was the only negative.

We had an evening here with friends as a pre-Christmas get together. We had not been before but some of our friends had. Service was a little slow and they weren't extremely busy. The food was very nice indeed but we believe the drinks were a little pricey. However, I believe we would go back.

This was my first real experience of a Thai restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, we all noticed that it was not very warm inside and we all commented on how cold it was. Luckily the food warmed us up. We all shared mixed starters all of which were very good. I then had Red Curry with Chicken, coconut rice and we all shared a Pad Thai. The curry had a nice heat to it and had loads of flavour and everything else worked well with it.

Family Saturday lunch was ruined by the restaurant being too cold. We had to eat with our coats on! Dim sung were a little soggy , but the chicken pad chai was very good. Please invest in a more efficient heating system.

We tried this place on a recommendation from a friend. When we arrived it was rammed and felt very claustrophobic, as there is very little space between the tables. My wife asked if there was somewhere to hang her coat. She was told no and to put it over her chair.

Birthday treat had a brilliant time great food good wine brilliant service value for money ,Every dish was fresh and tasty .

We came here at end of October for my birthday meal. There was 6 in our party and as soon as we walked in we was made to feel so welcome. The food was fresh and cooked perfect. We picked the set menus as it was just easier. The food is amazing.

When I eat Thai food as good as this, I wonder why I ever eat anything else.

My friends and I decided to try this restaurant for a Sunday evening get together. One of us had the special Sunday evening banquet menu which was very good value for money, the rest of us went 'a la carte' and we all enjoyed a delicious feast. All the dishes were beautifully prepared and cooked, with fresh ingredients. Service was very friendly, one waitress was a little inattentive and needed to be reminded about items we had asked for - but this was no hardship. A great evening out for anyone who likes good food.

Visiting family and tried this relatively new restaurant. The service and food were so good that we went back again a couple of days later before we went home. Recommend it highly but it’s popular so it’s best to book, especially at weekends

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was on par with some dishes I have had in Thailand itself. This may be a regular haunt!

Went here for the first time as it was only open a few weeks immediately felt unwelcome food wasn't any good either really rude members of staff would never go here again

4 of us went to the Thai chef restaurant and we were all very impressed the service was excellent the staff were brilliant and the food was fantastic

Flavours were really good, service was good, attentive but not hurried. Atmosphere was good. Pleasantly suprised. We shared several dishes between four of us, the was probably the reason i noticed that the curries did not contain much meat compared to other thai restaurants i have been too. Barely 1 piece of meat each from each curry. The sauce was plentiful and was very aromatic, full of authentic thai flavour.

We tried the £9.95 Sunday set menu and weren't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and there was a great atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting again and look forward to trying more from the menu.

This new restaurant has recently opened in LB so a bit of an unknown quantity. We visited on a weekday evening and judging by the fact it was about half full, already discovered. Staff were very attentive, polite and service was quick and accurate although there was no sense of being hurried. The food was really excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed everything that was served to us. A really good experience and one that will be repeated as we explore other offerings from a reasonably extensive menu. Mid - priced at about £30 - 35 per head including some alcohol
