Thai Cafe in East Dunbartonshire

2 very good express lunches at £12.50 per head...Tom Yum Gai soup for TT...Mrs TT enjoyed 3 Thai fish cakes...soup full of flavour and just spicy enough.Then Pad Thai chicken... Good blend of the noodles, chicken and veggies. Mrs TT ate chicken Massaman with jasmine rice...all eaten up eagerly.Prawn crackers offered while we waited for the food to be prepped..excellent. Call it 4.5 blobs as the decor is a bit basic. All in all seems a good addition to TTs roster of local places to visit. Oh, and with a soda and lime plus a good jasmine tea ( a big plus always for TT) the bill didn't quite get to £28. Value indeed and well recommended by TT.

Love the food and the early set menu. Our favourite is the sharing menu lots to try and share. Venue is basic but the food is worth it.

First time visit having seen it a few times while in Kirkintilloch. We were not disappointed- food was outstanding, staff attentive and reasonably priced. Will be back!

Excellent selection of Thai food at very reasonable prices in the heart of Kirkintilloch. Everyone in our group loved what they had, and portion size was large.

Love Thai Cafe, great food at a good price and lovely staff.

Ordered a carry out and it arrived almost an hour late. Food was cold and the meat was tough as if it had been defrosted quickly. Worst meal ever. We were offered a voucher but I'm not holding my breath for that.

Another delicious dining experience in the Thai Cafe for our wee Christmas night out for 6. Food delicious, fresh, piping hot and well presented by lovely staff. We now have a new Thai food fan in our group too! Keep up the good work 👍

Had an amazing meal in here during lunch. Honestly great value for the money. Authentic food as well. Really disappointed that on 2nd visit it shows as open on google maps and on their pages but turn up and its closed. Number goes to voicemail to say its closed until November

Visited for 1st time table booked 615pm, food was brilliant as were the staff. Very reasonably priced too. We will defo be back soon.

Lovely every time. Local gem, I love their curries, the pad thai and tom kha soup. Very authentic flavours.

Food was excellent ... very tasty and great sized portions ... we couldn't finish ours. Only slight gripe was we struggled couple times to get waitresses attention. To be fair tho it was busy and she seemed to be on her own. Lookin forward to goin back soon.

The food is great, on the night we went it was very quiet.

Disappointing, I expected authentic Thai food, but it didn’t happen. The starters were good. However the curry was flavourless. The potatoes were hard and couldn’t be eaten. However the waitress was very pleasant. I have had authentic Thai food and expected the same.

Our visit was a treat from my son and his wife as it is one of their favourite eating spots. A delicious and wide ranging menu ensures most palates can be truly satisfied. The service was first class and endowed diners with the feeling that you were really welcome. Subdued lighting and the calm decor enables conversations to be enjoyed with ease. All in all a quiet, top quality place to enjoy an evening out.

Friendly staff, although they seemed surprised that I had turned up in person to order take-away and not on-line. Food was very good and tasty. Lots of flavour and well-presented. Not cheap but I don't mind given the way costs for businesses have risen.

Got to agree with other reviewers, this used to be our favourite local takeaway but the food is not as good as it was. Massamam curry tasted odd, chicken satay not as good quality. Bit disappointing.

Used to be my favourite takeaway but in the past few months something has changed. My go to Tofu Massaman curry has totally changed. It now had only 3 pieces of potato and was instead bulked up carrot, brocoli, cauliflower and sugarsnap peas. The sauce is darker, like there's less coconut milk than in a usual massaman curry and the flavours are just all off. Really sad as this was our favourite takeaway but the last two orders have really put us off returning.

Visited this evening for the first time. The restaurant has very recently changed ownership. We always try out a new to us Thai restaurant, by ordering our favourite dishes as a comparison. Very tasty satay, (although a larger portion of sauce would be great). Prawn tempura was also very tasty, (but was in panko breadcrumbs not tempura batter.) Penang chicken, Pad Thai with prawns, and egg fried rice were all excellent. Complimentary Thai prawn crackers were provided. Staff were friendly and provided good service. The food was very reasonably priced. (Bill for the above and 2 large, and 1 small Singha beers was £54.) It was fairly quiet tonight, not a buzzy atmosphere, but it didn’t affect our enjoyment of the meal. Takeaway service is also available. We will definitely be returning!

If I’m in the mood for Thai food this is the place I go too. So authentic tasting, spicy & flavourful. The Steamed Sea-bass out of here with the Kimchi through it, is amazing. This place is a wee gem, highly recommended if you’re in the area! ❤️👏🏻

Great, fresh, tasty food at a very reasonable price

Just had a coconut cream soup and a yellow curry and was blown away, first time I've had nice thai in years, cant wait to try the pad thai, delivery was quick and easy too.

Booked a table only for it to be cancelled less than 24 hours beforehand. Took them more than a day to email saying it was cancelled. Not impressed. Why let you book in the first place if not taking bookings

Had a carry out, food was delicious. Only moan was tempura prawns were a bit soggy, but our fault, as we travelled to pick the food up.

It was a fine Thursday evening, I smashed a few pints in at my Maison and my tummy started rumbling because the only thing I had to eat was a full bottle of frosty Jack's and two wheetabix. I then stumbled up the main st and saw the glorious fairy lighting of the Thai cafe. Upon seating I was greeted by the most ecstatic Lady I have ever met. Once my mother brought be the most succulent exquisite dinner I have ever eaten In kirkintilloch, I felt like my beautiful Thai mother had cooked me my Buddhist Christmas dinner. I would highly reccomend for the quality and price alone and encourage you to eat at my mother's establishment.

The food was delicious and the staff were very nice and friendly.

Food was OK. Decor a bit tired and could do with some updating. No music, even though you can have it back on. On the plus side, service really good and friendly. Can't fault that. I really enjoyed my meal. Daughters green curry not to our tastes. But rest was tasty.

Excellent Thai food. Tried Tom Kha Gai (Coconut cream soup) as a starter and also as a test dish. Soup very authentic and fresh. Will definitely be back for more food. Staff Very friendly and helpful.

We have had curries from here before but tonight's was disappointing.....several pieces of chicken were rather chewy......had it been the one curry but unfortunately it was both curries.

Food is always great and the people are always so nice :) .

I have ordered from here twice before and been ok, tonight's meal however was a total let down , horrid spongy chicken that I wasn't convinced was cooked through and lacked any flavour . Won't be ordering again

Ordered a takeaway tonight and was very disappointed. Worst thai food ever. Very runny no flavour and rubbery chicken. Did not want to give it to.the dog! Expensive £30 for 2 mains, 1x rice, 1 chicken satay. I could not eat it. Complete waste of.money and still hungry.

Tonight I found that there was Thai food available in Kirkintilloch 🤣 so I ordered food from this restaurant. I was impressed with the food, especially the madam massaman curry! It was very fragrant and balanced - the flavours took me right back to my times travelling in Thailand. I also ordered the Papaya salad- it had a great kick of spice. I cannot wait to go back again. My only comment is, I do feel the Cost is fractionally higher than other take away mains, but it remains lower than the cost of other restaurants such as Chaophraya in Glasgow and similar in price to Thai Siam in The west end, but they do have slightly larger portions. I will visit again. I really enjoyed the meal.

Great quality food, tasty genuine Thai taste, lovely staff, friendly helpful service, and good value for money.

First time here and we were both satisfied at the end of the meal. Chicken satay starter was very tender and fresh! Not sure about the menu so manager/owner? helped us choose. The place looked very clean and the staff friendly and cheerful. We will go back as I can’t see any reason not to so far ! Moderately priced ( Thai food usually expensive) and value for money as the portions are a good size. Look forward to trying the jungle curry and papaya salad as those are my favourites and will be interested to see how this place compares to big establishments like chaophrya in Glasgow.

Ordered a takeaway and not impressed at all. All liquid and no solids. Should have gone to McDonald's and got twice the food for less than half the price.

We stopped in here tonight for dinner and were. It disappointed. A 2-course for £9.95 special was incredible value for money considering the quality of the food and size of the portions. Staff could not have been friendlier. Will definitely be returning

Went for a stroll along the canal to Kirkie and decided to try the Thai Cafe as we had heard some good reviews. Food was excellent and exceeded our expectations, staff were very nice and made us feel really welcome. The chef could make any meal to our preference (more/less spicy) and could also cater for a host of food allergies including gluten-free. I had the Thai green curry with sticky rice and it was very good. Worked out at ~£20 per head for 2 main courses, seafood salad, Prosecco and a few beers so reasonably priced. Out of all the restaurants in kirkie this is by far our favourite. Pleasantly surprised and have decide to return in a few weeks with our friends/kids.

Lovely place, staff are very welcoming. Went for dinner with a friend, very reasonably priced. Only downside was the food had a slightly greasy taste to it. Didn’t go to the bathroom so can’t comment on that.

Me and my friend visited this place a few weeks ago and went for the banquet it woz really good a big selection of classic thai dishes.it woz so good we went back a week later to get some of the same i would definetly recomend if ur looking for tasty thai food

Friendly Thai owners made us feel most welcome. Orders were taken quickly and delivered promptly to our table. We tried a variety of dishes from satays to fish cakes, red Thai, pad krapow prawn, sweet and sour chicken and all were very tasty and well presented. Highly recommended!

Came here with my wife and three kids. Staff were super friendly. We all enjoyed our meal which isn't always easy with children. Think we'll be regulars now 😀
