Cafe Alba in East Dunbartonshire

Visited on a Saturday morning. This place is very popular but they manage to turn over the tables quite efficiently. I had the big breakfast which was fantastic, warm and hearty and filling. I don't normally fancy bacon but this was done really well at Cafe Alba - crisp in all the right places without being too dessicated. Good coffee too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Milngavie.

Far too expensive, 2 cheese burgers with a handful of chips and a dolup of coleslaw £32 odds come on its a cafe it wasn't even that good either cheap burgers not pate's won't be back .

Amazing toasties, omelettes, wraps, chips and coffee. Consistently good over many years, sitting in or takeaway. One star off for vegan options not being great but there’s more options than there used to be.

Way overpriced. A microwaved baked potato that was hard and inedible underneath. And half the plate covered in salad that I wasn’t asked if I wanted. I can’t stand rocket cucumber or sweetcorn. My partner had the eggs Benedict and he said average. I mean £10.95 for a microwaved potato and tuna . £37. Rip off.

I had lunch here today with my F husband. It was delicious. I got the haggis steak burger and it was so nice. Haggis was soft and flavoured, not greasy or soggy and the burger was 2 patty's. Chips were lovely as was the sweet chilli sauce, will return here definitely.

I got a roll with bacon & egg to takeaway. At £4.68 I felt it was very expensive , probably the most I had to pay for a roll with bacon & egg. However, it was really good and the staff were friendly and polite.but I probably would go elsewhere in future due the the coat

First class breakfast and excellent service.

There were seven of us visited today on way back from camping trip. The staff are always so lovely, it was busy but they got us all seated within 5 minutes. The food was gorgeous, all enjoyed & the children loved the hot chocolates. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Come all the way from Darlington to see my family in gorgeous recommended Cafe Alba the service was fast and the girls were great! The food didn't take long and it was lush, also washed it down with a tasty milkshake as you do first thing on a morning 😋 highly recommend!

All im going to say is £24 yes £24 for 2 baked potatoes with tuna & cheese 😭i should have taken away it was only £ 14.30 🫣

We had a lovely lunch in cafe alba. The food was really nice and the coffee which can often not be great in small cafes was superb.

Well run premises, food very good but a little expensive, enjoyable atmosphere and friendly Staff.

Unfortunately breakfast undercooked and cold.

I guarantee you a great experience. The food is delicious and the coffee is great. You only have to wait for couple of mins to get a table, but it’s totally worth it!

Lovely little spot. Always seems to be busy and always a very warm welcome from the ladies working there. They also do a very good iced coffee. I would say the only thing that might make me think twice about going in sometimes is the space, it is quite compact. I feel they have added tables recently and there is absolutely no room to even hang your coat or bag on your chair. It is a squeeze, and you do have to leave prams etc outside. None the less, lovely food and good atmosphere.

Went with elderly mother. Server was attentive but not particularly friendly. Chose eggs Benedict which was ok with shop bought hollandaise and dry unappetising muffin. Flat white was disappointing .. too big. Overall could and should have been a lot better for the price.

Brilliant little cafe and the food is top quality. Not the biggest of places and can be quite loud but really is 1 of my favourite places to go

Popped in for breakfast on my way to work. Had a nice breakfast and a coffee. Worth stopping by.

Everything very good except for the lack of noise dampening which makes it difficult for those with hearing problems.

We wanted a latte, a delicious strawberry tart, and a quiet place to talk through the week ahead. We got all that in Cafe Alba.

french toastie with nutella and strawberries was amazing. hubby loved his big breakfast. the menu mentions strawberry slices but it was more like a garnish with 2 strawberries sliced at each side. more strawberries would have been nicer as nutella and hazelnuts on its own was too rich once strawberries were finished. I would definitely return and ask for more strawberries next time.

Been going here now for a few months with my wife as our Sunday afternoon treat (occasional week day too) and have never been disappointed... Food Fresh, lovely and delicious 😋. Highly recommend the Full Breakfast or Cajun chicken wrap with chips.

When we first arrived in Milngavie, we roamed around seeking food and found Cafe Alba. We're so glad we did. Great lunch stop and I'd definitely go again if in the area! Nice outdoor seating too!

Old school cafe with Milngavie prices. My wife and I ordered toasties with chips. No issues with the food that was served - Classic “Breville” style toastie and chips like you’d get from your Gran’s chip pan. Sometimes that’s what you’re after, but not when it’s charged at fancy Milngavie bistro rates.

The food was fantastic & very tasty. Will visit again when I'm in the area 10/10.

Super friendly staff. The coffee was well made and the big breakfast was a winner. The haggis was especially good. Definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled upon Cafe Alba and was pleasantly surprised. The coffees were fantastic and the food was hearty with great portion sizes. Waited no longer than five minutes for a table as the staff were attentive and turned the tables round quickly. The staff were really friendly and made sure we were looked after.

The most expensive cafe ive ever been in . £8.50 for a breakfast with only 1 of each item ie 1 slice of bacon 1 egg . £4 for a latte. £2.40 for can of cola . Food was ok but nothing special. I didn't order a drink as i only had £10 on me so literally couldn't afford one . The cafe around the corner is half the price and double the amount of food . How they get return customers is beyond me .

The food is great! The staff are very accomodating to find you a table as it's a very busy cafe. They're run off their feet and at times eat as they go! They make you feel welcome

My wife and I went in this morning, a few empty tables so we sat down, the tall blonde with the pony tail came over and wiped the table without as much as a smile and didn’t even acknowledge the fact we were sitting there, she then threw the two menus onto the table and they slid across the table, at this point we walked back out of the cafe and won’t be back, we have eaten here before and had no problems. We proceeded along to Garvies where we were treated as you should be, menu’s handed to you with a smile from the very pleasant staff. Brian Mitchell Glasgow

This is situated in Main Street in Milgarvie.This restaurant offers a good selection of breakfasts,hot toasted sandwiches,burgers,wraps,fish and chips.Decor is nice and modern.The staff are very friendly.The food is good and hot.Prices are good as the portions are quite big.Overall recommended.yes..Well done.Would like to see the restaurant open Til 5.30pm as I feel you lose customers as you close at 4pm.

We go here quite often. It has locked big coffee mugs and a delicious comfort food menu. It is occasionally too busy to get a seat but they do take away. Love the toasties, burgers and all day breakfast. The kids love the fish and chips or sausage and chips. I get the BBQ chicken burrito as an occasional treat, really rich and filling. Sewing inside and outside.

Lovely and clean, best green tea in cafe I have had, also provide almond milk which is not always available in other places. Did not eat there but food looked nice.

Been in a few times for breakfast but the coffee is disgusting. Don’t know what they do with it but it never tastes right. I wasn’t happy at my last visit so asked to change for a soft drink but they wanted to charge for both drinks despite not even touching the coffee. Wouldn’t go back- I’ll stick with Costa.

It's just a great wee cafe to go to for a coffee and a catch up with friends. Very reasonably priced

Popped in for lunch, had the soup & sandwich option great value for money! 👍The mushroom soup was delicious as was the cheese & ham sandwich! The only slight criticism is I wasn't ask what bread I would like, received white but would have preferred brown! Will definitely go back when I'm in the area. 👍😁

Lovely coffee, in immaculate premises with pleasant staff.

Cafe Alba was a favourite lunchtime haunt of my mother-in-law and she always raved about the food and service. Sadly, she's no longer with us, but now that all the bonkers restrictions are officially lifted I'm trying to give as many places my custom as I can, and why not start with local places? Popped in for breakfast and it was superb. The food was cooked to perfection and allied to the best cappuccino I've tasted in a wee while, it was heavenly. Recommend.

Lovely cafe and amazing food. The staff are so welcoming and made the entire experience. Small but enough tables to sit in. Gluten free bread for sandwiches. Treats and Hot beverages. Food menu. Really loved the visit

Takeaway lunch from here.... 2 bacon rolls, 1 baked potato with cajun chicken + salad. Fresh, tasty and plentiful from cafe Alba. Friendly efficient service from the girls on such a busy day. We were attending for the car show and at lunchtime, we were certainly in need of good food. We weren't disappointed. See you next year. Thank you

A bit more expensive than other local cafes, spotless but not my first preference for food in Milngavie.

Lovely wee local cafe, popped in on Sunday and were lucky enough to get 2 seats. So accommodating when we wanted to add extra scrambled egg to the breakfast and gave me the option of having half black pudding half bacon with my eggs benedict. Food was delicious, the breakfast was HUGE, everything came really quickly as well .. Great wee place!

When in Glasgow I try to fit in a train journey to Milngavie so can have breakfast at Cafe Alba, it's that good!! Met up with a local friend and had a good catch up. The breakfast really is delicious, I would gladly try the rest of the menu if lived nearer!!

Great cafe for your coffee and morning roll and much more. Good service, very clean. Also has outside seating and offers takeaway.

Not local to here but visited when in the area due to good reviews on TripAdvisor. Best club sandwich I’ve ever had and the Cajun wrap was also delicious. Cappuccinos were great too. Friendly staff. Would definitely come back if in the area again!

I've visited Cafe Alba twice in a row, in fact, as part of a long weekend in Glasgow to visit the family. Absolutely great value for money, good quality food and very accommodating staff. My daughter is coeliac and they were able to serve gluten-free food no problem. Also, good hygiene and a clean place, which should not be taken for granted these days. I would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Busy wee place. We all had tasty lorne sausage on a proper breakfast roll with various coffees. Served very quickly by lovely staff. Will certainly be back next time I’m in the area.
