Tesco Express in Manchester

It's a small shop, cramped in places but the staff are friendly and helpful - I still prefer the big out of town tesco's but wanted to leave a review purely due to the staff being nice people.

Woman refused to give me my evri parcel I had paid for because the shop was 'too busy' there was one person behind me in the queue.... then said they won't let people collect parcels between 12-2 which is the only time I and I'm sure a lot of other people who work in the city centre can collect. Absolute joke. If you don't offer collection at any time then either don't do it at all or advertise this. Now I am unable to collect a parcel and have to wait to get it refunded because she couldn't be bothered to turn around and get it

Really helpful and honest customer service . One person was on hand to show me how the slightly different scanning system worked on checkout .After the machine asked me to insert my card instead of scanning I stupidly forgot to remove it . I only later discovered the mistake when I got back to our nearby hotel . Thankfully, when I returned , I discovered that one of the observant and honest assistants , Nadim , had handed the card in behind the till . Thanks !

Eye-opening, cultural experience

I visited this Tesco and had the most amazing customer service from a lovely staff member called Andrew. Throughout the whole transaction he was super helpful, he made my incredibly tough day so much better and I’m really grateful. I hope he sees this and realises how valued he is. Thank you Andrew

A small piece of advice, if you want customers to come in to shop in the morning don't spend 30mins cleaning the coffee machine just after you open.

Lazy and incompetent lying workers on tills, whether self check out or at the desks. This is why Tesco is going downhill, wouldn't even feed any of the bread/bakery to my dogs. They're spiteful and strange, the worker at self check didn't even want to help which is her role and pushed it to the till desks to do, get rid of staff there, it's just useless people standing around and customers will go to Lidl or M&S which is better.

security team are useless and do nothing to help people who need it they stand and laugh at people who are getting visibly harassed and don’t think to do anything about it even if they’re asking for help.

Awful conditions and employees aren't any help. The security guard there didn't help my friend when they were being harassed by a creep, even though it was on their property. Not only that but I've never been to a more appalling shop in my life.

Just watched a cashier give out a lottery ticket 2 9 years old good job the manager got involved.

I just tried to go 10:30 pm to buy something quick as I just finish my shift. I couldn’t enter as they stop me on the entrance. I don’t really understand what it’s the issue if the open hours are until 11 pm.

They open till 11pm but don’t let you in at 10:50pm to buy some vapes. What’s the point of being opened till 11pm…

Got bread, butter and good food stuff

It's a crowded, slightly messy market. Tesco is a medium-level market and its hygiene level is low.

Just really easy and quick to get to. Good for if you have forgotten anything or just want to go grab something quick.

I often come in to this shop due to it's handy location near the train station. It has a good mix of pre-prepared and ready to cook food, as well as other products expected of a small convenience store. Good range of drinks and snacks for my regular commute home too, and usually quick to pay thanks to many self-service tills in operation. Nice, chatty and helpful staff, especially Niall. Much appreciated!

Store says it is open til 11pm but refused entry at 10:50pm. Opening times shouldn’t say until 11pm if they are going to refuse customers. You close up and cash up AFTER 11pm. Shameful.

This is very good and well stocked Tesco store.the shop is usually tidy and the staff are helpful.it well located on London Road which is close to the main shopping area and local public transport.even though it's busy it isn't as busy as the store within Piccadilly Gardens and usually doesn't run out of stock as quickly..

Quick and easy to get to. Has a good range of products.

The moment I stepped into this store, looking for a meal deal I knew it was the store for, supberb establishment. They had a bacon sandwich which impressed my girlfriend of such a specific cuisine. Overall a really great experience. Would have a been a 5 if it was even bigger.

Great for all your shopping essentials! Lovely staff that’s always happy to help! Shelves are always stocked and the shop is kept clean on regular bases! It’s a pure pleasure to shop in here! They’ve got it all! Would recommend ✨

Probably the worst tesco i have had the pleasure of using, have used most of the competitors in the surrounding area over the last week whilst visiting family and without doubt i won’t be back

This is my local shop as I live in the Northern Quarter. The staff and security are always friendly and say Hi, I'm not entirely sure what time it closes because it says 11 on here but I'm sure they are closed well before then, I think it closes at 8/9pm through the week so make sure you don't leave your shopping until the last minute.

Perfect store and efficient staff

My parents have returned back to living in the UK after years of retirement travelling around the world, and their English is really rusty. They are in their eighties. This afternoon, my mum went into the Piccadilly Manchester store to get a few things. She didn't have her debit card with her, she had to pay cash. However, she is not familiar with how to insert the cash into the self service counter. Not only there was no help on hands, the person who was at last, reluctantly went to over showing my mum how to use the machine. My mum described this person's attitude was that of disrespectful! My mum is an very old lady, she has obviously struggled with modern technology, it doesn't take a lot of effort and time to help her and to show her what to do. What with the DISRESPECTFUL face?! Was it too much hard work? I personally find some of the TESCO staff are often rude! Is it because we are not white? I am very angry and so does my mum. We shall stop spending our money at any Tesco store from now on!!!!!

Perfectly fine for grabbing a quick sarnie. Like pretty much every other Tesco Express it's a bit small, but it has everything you might need.

Went last night after work just to grab a drink for dinner, it was just 6 min before closing time but the door was already shut and they didn't let me in. They are suppose to close at 11pm not whenever the want!! I'm Not coming back to this one.

Got harassed waiting to use checkouts by 2 men who went on to pick pocket my bank card. Staff including security guard did nothing about 2 drunk men getting in other customers faces and just let them bother people

Great products and produce available. Fresh stuff are also sometimes on clearance so you can get yourself a bargain.

Me gusta aunque me equivoqué con la palabra jenjibre en inglés y me compré unas galletas que picaban mucho y acabé pasando el mismo hambre con el que entré jo. Fue un fallo de mi persona humana, por el resto estaba bien, precio medio inglés y limpio y ordenado.

good to grab something quick during break or on the way to work. even if there is a line it usually moves quick because of the self service counters.

Unfortunately to they don't stock the 1kg Nutella Chocolate spread, but they've always got Silk Cut Purple which is a welcomed bonus.

Went this morning and the Asian man at the till was rude and ignorant. Never spoke to me and slammed the change on the counter.

It is one of the smaller Tesco's. Service was friendly.

Call me racist or whatever you want but I expect to be able to communicate to super market staff in English in my country of birth couldn't make myself understood in this store by someone who just didn't seem interested

Don't go here for your lunch. The selection for the meal deal is awful and seems to get worse each week.

A Tesco close to the railway station and on the way to the city centre. Can get everything what is important for daily life. I love the "MEAL DEAL" - food, snack, drink for only 3 Pound!!!

Convenient for picking things up on easy to tram

Popular store at the heart of the Piccadilly transport hub. Wide selection of chilled drinks and sandwiches.

Didn't know this store has had a refurb but it's like any other Tesco Express (dinky Tesco if you like). Spirits behind staffed tills and wine/beer on shelves that shoppers can get. Perhaps all that is different than any other Express I've been in, is this store has self scan card only tills and these are much better than those seen in normal stores or larger stores as these don't go wrong every two seconds saying 'unexpected item in bagging area' or any other rubbish they like to come out with. There are normal self scan cash and card tills as well but these are temperamental.

Crazy! this store has had a supposed refurb for which it closed! Inside all they have done is move a few goods around and massively reduced the selection and choice in several areas! This is especially true of the Free From Gluten Free section and the Chocolate. They have removed Chocolate Rice Cakes from Free From and 85% pure dark chocolate from the chocolate section! Avoid this store its offering very little choice!

Bit cramped but convenient location

Pretty good selection of items, but it is quite limited. Good opening hours though!

A handy little place if you're after essential items - pint of milk, loaf of bread, tea bags etc. They have a selection of ready meals etc. but this is a very, very small Tesco Express and is almost always busy. Good point: it has a cash machine just inside the entrance.

6 tills 2 staff queue half way round the shop every time I go in.
