Tesco Cafe in Maldon

Absolutely appalling service, one hour waiting for a simple wrap whilst seeing other people that arrive after us being served. Def won’t return and not recommend.

The places were really dirty, there was garbage everywhere and there were pieces of bread (there were also pieces of it), the employees did not check the cash register at all, I waited for 5 minutes for it to arrive, their coffee is really nice!

Awful customer service. Took 15mins to order even though only 1 person in front of us. Staff very Unfriendly. Then waited 30mins for a sausage bap to have the plate dropped onto the table in front of me without a word from the server. Staff cleary dont want to be working there. Food wasnt even tasty. Wont be returning

We waited in the queue for I don't know how long because they messed up previous orders , we think that's what happened as we didn't get explanations and when it was our turn to be served she said no hot food without any apologies. Not impressed.

Fantastic! The staff are absolutely incredible, such lovely people. The food is delicious, I can't stop coming back for the lattice fries! (I had already eaten half the bowl of fries in the picture, it was piled high) Great experience, I always stop by for a hot chocolate and a snack before or after I do my shopping.

Very disappointing service. Went with my family to do some shopping, kids are hungry and at 3:10pm Saturday 5th August, after queueing for food the man at the counter told us they arent taking any more orders and that we can only order cakes or teas. No signage or a heads up. At 3:10pm!! They're supposed to be open until 5pm. Well if you're open until 5pm and turned away at 3pm it's safe to say we'll take our business elsewhere.

Had lunch here with the kids and could not fault it definitely deserved 5* rating it was absolutely lovely but have just come to try their breakfast and what a let down the bacon was rock hard and cold and the hash browns were deep fat fried so covered in oil absolutely disgusting no way would I ever eat their breakfast again 🤮

Worst breakfast ever ! Avocado, tomatoes, poached egg, lime & chilli on sour dough. Toast dry, no oil or butter on, egg solid, no taste of lime, just the smallest tiny piece on side of plate, no care or attention to detail or presentation. Husband had vegan breakfast, even worse! Freezing tomatoes cut in half not even warmed, cold wilted (not wilted !) spinach, mushroom half cooked and half cold ! The only thing OK was coffee and hot chocolate and all that for just over £15. Total rip off !! Never eat there again !!

Drove 15 miles today only to be "rudely" told the kitchen was shut at 2pm and not the normal 6pm. Up until now I went there 3 or 4 times a week.... Update: still not been back..👍

Avocado on toast with bacon and tomatoes is the best in town!

Had a microwaved jacket potato with a warm chilli topping, a few gratings of cheese for an extra 60p and a slightly gritty salad. A latte frappe was £2.65 for a glass of mostly ice. Big mistake, won't be going again.

Got 25% off here as i work at a tesco, the food was very good quality which i was suprised about. The mango smoothie was very tasty and a served in a large glass!

A good little cafe that looks out into the shop. Coffee is at a cheaper thanot other coffee brands. Staff were friendly.

Okay but had a stomach ache after eating there

Cheap place for coffee and cake. Not the best in the world, but paid more and had much worse. Would still recommend it

Service rather slow! Only one person taking orders and then making the hot drinks...

After ordering and waiting for 15 minutes to receive our drinks in an empty cafe... we had to go back up to ask where the whipped cream and marshmallows were. Then when we sat back down to drink our we had one mouthful and had to leave them. Disgusting flavour, horrible service and the place was so dirty. An empty cafe with dirty cups and plates everywhere

Great value for money and lovely food. Equivalent in my local cafe would be £4 more!

It's a cafeteria! Service is painfully slow very often. A big problem appears to be that the design of the serving/kitchen areas prevents staff from being able to see anyone waiting to be served. This means you can wait for a really long time, sometimes around 10 minutes before someone comes from the kitchen to see if there are any customers. That's depressing. On top of that, if a customer orders a couple of specialist coffees that's another 3 or 4 minutes whilst that is being dealt with. All for the sake of a window and 2 staff members to actually serve.

It's what it is a supermarket cafe , quite good for a quick bite if you're shopping.

Really nice coffee! The lady who worked there knew how to heat and froth soya milk which most don't do very well! Good selection of vegan items on the menu too.

Tables need cleaning and cleaning more often

Food was OK but service very slow cutlery dirty and gave me wrong drink.

I Went Upstairs Past the unsanitary smell of the toilets and as usual it was a ghost town no staff to be seen (they where hiding in kitchen), so after waiting a while i found a bell by the service window so i rang it (i would advise everyone do the same), quite a time later the bell was slammed against the counter in the kitchen a quite Unkept young man walked out didn't say a word through my friends coffee together and we left.

First time visiting this restaurant, had a full breakfast and partner had a bacon sandwich. The bread was not a bloomer as advertised. Fried egg was cooked in old oil or dirty pan as dark brown on both sides! Wouldn't be my go to place for breakfast again.

Lacking Almond or soya milk alternative for people don't have dairy.
