Tesco Cafe in Newham

The food was great! Sahitya, the chef was really good with the service and the food! Would recommend this place anytime of the day!

Disappointed food was not as hot as usual but was tasty. Not usual order as was unavailable. Hope it will return soon. Always good value.

Visited on 21/09/24 (Saturday). Rude cashier, told breakfast would take 20 minutes and waited over half an hour. I had to ask for my receipt and ask to scan my club card. I know it’s not an easy job, but if the cashier doesn’t want to be there, find something else to do on Saturday morning.

I arrived at Tesco cafe at 4.25pm to be told the hot food was no longer available. I only wanted to get my little one some tea. If you close food at 4pm you need to have that advertised somewhere!!!!

We been told 30 minutes waiting time for 3 portion of chips . Very poor service Very disappointed

Food was cold, tartare sauce and carrot cake missing. Usual very happy with my delivery but not this time.

Disappointed with the scrambled egg and bacon brioche. Been ordering this almost always. Bun was a bit hard and bacon is overcooked and hard as well.

Who ever is serving at this location always gets something on the order wrong. They either leave something out or send the wrong item. I asked for scampi and chips and they sent me fish and chips. Honestly why don’t they hire people with reading abilities at the very least. Even a child can read.

The cafe has been refurbished some time ago and "restaffed" at the same time. And together with the transformation completely lost its appeal. The smiley lady with curly hair disappeared, replaced by a brigade of unfamiliar, not particularly friendly or helpful faces. Now, coffee is served barely warm and when one asks to have it reheated, the answer is they can't do it. The deco is supposedly modern, but clinical and not cozy. It's a shame.

I ordered free lunch for my son. He wanted another portion 30 minutes later so I ordered another one. Female member of staff who delivered the second order made unacceptable comments. She asked if we already had one portion and that we shouldn't be having another one. She was extremely rude and went to the manager to tell him about me ordering twice. Your terms and conditions state that one free lunch per one item ordered which I did, I bought jelly on both occasions. Her behaviour was unprofessional and that is an understatement. She was wrong about me being able to order the offer twice and even if she was right(she wasn't) then the way she spoke to us was not the way to talk to the customer ever. Manager said she is from Rainham branch, I really don't understand why that is relevant and if customers in Rainham branch would accept this attitude. He also lied about her being in training. My son refused to eat his food as he thought he did something wrong asking for more. I would suggest to brief your staff about terms and conditions of your offers and for some staff members customer service course also.

Good customer service and comfortable to stay for a while when waiting for someone

The imbecile’s at this restaurant can never get an order right. I have to request everything twice each time it they always get it wrong. Wish they would hire people that can read and write properly or send them on a course so they can read the orders that come in. Terrible service morons!!!

They always get something wrong. They didn’t seal the tea well enough so it spilled in the delivery persons bag. So I paid for something I didn’t receive.

Kids meals are free for the summer for paying adult. It took almost 30 mins for the food to arrive service is very slow. New look cafe at beckton. Food was good when it eventually arrived. My son did not enjoy his chicken goujons.

Had breakfast in the cafe today, I was served by a lovely lady. She was polite and friendly with a lovely smile, and the food was excellent 👌

I visited for brunch with my son. I requested one vegetarian and one normal brunch. I asked if their sausages were pork and was informed that they were. After a fifteen minute wait 2 vegetarian breakfasts arrived. I queried this with the server who promised to rectify it. I the meantime my vegetarian breakfast was getting cold and covered in flies. After another long wait I went to the checkout and asked about my brunch. The server looked at me and then pointed to our table. She said that Tesco no longer serve meat for breakfast and that I would have to eat what I was given. Appalling!

Does your company have any understanding of customer service at all? I popped into Tesco Cafe in Gallions Reach Beckton for brunch, as I have many times before Covid. I requested 2 brunches, one veg and one meat. The cashier took my order and I paid but I did not get a receipt. Imagine my surprise when we received 2 vegetarian brunches. I queried this with the server who said that she would correct this order. I waited and waited but no new order came. I went back to the cashier and having queued for another 15 minutes was told that Tesco now only serve vegetarian food and that I would have to eat, my now cold, fly infested, vegetarian meal. I left my plate and walked out. 1) Why accept orders for things you do not provide? 2) Why lie to customers? 3) Why not answer your phones? 4) Are you trying to force people to become vegetarian? I think that is illegal. I have just spent the last hour trying to reach the store on the phone. No one answers! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

They forgot two of the items. Service is poor as usual

Both wraps were squashed and soggy therefore had teard in the wrapper leaving everything covered in sauce and the contents of the wraps

They sent a 'full' breakfast with with just beans bread egg and hash brown, nothing else......

Great staff serving behind till, lovely attitude very welcoming. Decent price,food was nice,latte was nice. Staff should really bring the tray and latte to the customer on table though, like most cafés do.

They didn’t provide me with one of the item. The fish didn’t come with any CHIP!! Also they never included the 2 Mayonaise sachet. There I keep service. I hope I get a refund last time Just Eat didn’t give me my money back!

I always go to the cafe in Beckton, as the breakfasts are soooo nice. The young lady, Heidi, that serves is so lovely. She has a lovely persona and goes above and beyond to help customers. Always has a smile in her face.

The route was horrible, too sweet and soggy! I also got a bucket of mushy peas…what a waste!

take my mum to gallion reach tesco cafe today .she said she really enjoyed her fry up and her cup of tea. I was serve by a lovely staff member .we will both will be returning very soon .

My order came with the all items. The Bacon Bap was nice but the ‘big’ breakfast was tiny. Small portion sizes.

My 1st time buying from this Cafe and for such a small portion , the price is ridiculous… not happy about it at all nor satisfied. The presentation of the bag looked like it was handled carelessly and effortless , it was crumbled when it had arrived ! Not ordering from there again.

Absolutely rubbish, I ordered a breakfast, kids beans on toast, bottle of coke. All that turned up was a egg roll 🤬😡

Got everything I ordered nothing missing didn’t break the bank on time and with fuss.

Was told the wait was around 20-25 mins. Can't say I was pleased but I can't blame the staff. I didn't get anything. However, one staff member (a blond lady, stocky build) was a little curt when I asked whether staff were clearing tables. Okay I understand you are under pressure but don't be curt if you can't handle it. When she did start to clear tables she did all the tables except the one where my wife and kids were standing. I wondered why? Was it deliberate or some other reason? Whatever it was I I felt she deliberately didn't clear it. That's my view. She may say different. What her reasons are I don't know because I didn't challenge her. Next time I encounter that kind of behaviour I will. I didn't want to make a fuss because I didn't stay to eat because of the wait. Usually, the staff are great.

Didn't read the note yet again. It's in capitals at the top of the printed ticket with 3 exclamations at the start and finish!

It's not our first visit to Tesco extra cafe. But the first time we were served by Jenny. Very pleased with the kindness of Jenny and customer service skills. Big thank you, Jenny!

Breakfast was delicious as always. Chips were nice and fish was crispy. But the fish was rubbery in the middle, had to through half away

I’ve ordered the avocado and halloumi muffin a few times and I love it but unfortunately today there was not enough avocado in it!

First time ordering. Ordered fish n chips. Large battered fish. Nice chunky chips (small portion). Tasty!

Lovely cafe. Good little breakfast and a decent Cod and chips. Currently doing half price Mon to Weds, incredible value!

La peor experiencia de mi vida para un simple desayuno bap el bap más pequeño que he visto una salchicha miserable y un pedazo pequeño de tocino miserable una mordida y desapareció. También tenía una taza de té para llevar 1. 50 por el placer. Total 4. 25 francamente me sentí totalmente estafado!

They used to make lovely coffee. I think they still do. I don't visit often, but the queue is sometimes long , especially during breakfast hours. Huge windows to gaze through to a surrounding car park and contemplate ...
